London’s New Bar Openings - London - The Infatuation

"For a slice of Portugal in the City, head to Bar 1790. With the exception of a champagne and an English sparkling, the wine list is entirely Portuguese and there’s an extensive selection of port. Enjoy alongside tapas like salt cod croquettes and slivers of ibérico ham." - daisy meager, sinead cranna

What a loooovely time at this establishment. Went in to meet with some coworkers and really enjoyed the drinks, oysters, and food. We ended up staying quite a while. The decor and manager are very welcoming. What an upscale and fun spot for weekday nosh and catchup! Love that they let pups in.

Located in a quieter side street of the City, the bar you can see from the alley is only a tease. There’s a courtyard looking like a little garden heaven. Didn’t even know there is a hidden Travelodge hotel as well. And downstairs reveal an amazing world of wine and dine. The cellars are just what we all wish to have in our dream house. Let’s not forget to mention the ever so friendly staff who looked after us like stars

Small but cool Burger Bar in the bank area. Tasty Burgers and a wide selection of Drinks and Cocktails available. It‘s a must whenever I come to London for Business trips. 100% recommendation!

Lasagne at 1790 bar, dined Nov 2024. I have been meaning to visit this place for lunch because they have specials each weekday. The ones I wanted to try were the steak and ale pie and lasagne. Unfortunately, it wasn't a good start as it took ages for someone to come over so I could order while food took ages to arrive. I ordered Chef Mahdi's mum's lasagne which was really disappointing and looked nothing like their lasagne on their instagram nor a normal lasagne. It was just a pile of ragu meat sauce and virtually no lasagne sheet.

What a great hidden gem! Food was stunning and wine was on offer until 8pm so such fantastic value. You won’t find better value for money in London. Staff were attentive and friendly. My new favourite place for sure when I visit for work. I can’t wait sit to sample more of the menu. This evening I went for the Bavette and fries and it was cooked to perfection and tasted great.

Had such a great evening at Bar 1790! The place has a lovely vibe – relaxed but still really stylish. The food was spot on, full of flavour and nicely presented, and the cocktails were some of the best I’ve had in a long time. What really made the night, though, was our server Kinga. She was absolutely amazing – so friendly, attentive, and genuinely lovely to chat to. She gave us brilliant recommendations and just made the whole experience feel special. You can tell she really cares about making guests feel welcome. Definitely one of those places you leave already planning your next visit. Highly recommend Bar 1790 – and if you get Kinga looking after you, you’re in for a treat!

We really enjoyed the friday Roast, it is a brilliant idea The Choices were Sholder of Lamb for two people, Beef, Belly of Pork or A Vegetarian en Croute The portions were very generous lovely seasonal vegetables, huge Yorkshire puddings with a stuffing ball in the middle and insanely good Roast Potatoes every bit as good as a home cooked Roast which is very rare I couldn't find fault with anything about the food and service such a great value lunch with lovely friendly service My only two criticisms would be to maybe reduce the size of the portions slightly and to serve a dinner plate with the shared lamb as apposed to side plates which weren't large enough We loved it and will definitely return thank you
