A very fun and eclectic restaurant/bar/venue. I stopped by for a brunch/lunch/drinks option early on a Sunday. All of the food and drinks ordered were good and relatively inexpensive. The bar itself has a good atmosphere and a lively clientele. Would be interested in returning sometime soon for an event!

Pretty darn cool place. I've never been here before. Came for a Frickashinas show. They have the bar split in two separate parts. One is the bar with tables etc. and the other is the venue part where the bands play. Good food. Patio. Good service and reasonable prices. Will definitely come again!

Food is good and usually pretty quick. This place is quickly becoming the new venue of choice for good local punk music and other alt genres. The space is a perfect place to hang out on a Sunday afternoon on the patio, a Friday happy hour or a Saturday night rager.

We checked this place out for the first time the other night and it was a really fun night. We loved the open patio where we could sit and eat some food while enjoying live music. The waitresses were super nice & the food was yummy as well.

I was the victim of a violent, antisemitic attack at this bar. A man called me a “dirty Jew” and said I didn’t belong there. I threw water at him in defense of my dignity—he responded by punching me. I called the police. The bar staff did nothing to intervene during the assault and ultimately kicked me out rather than supporting the victim of a hate crime. This establishment tolerated blatant antisemitism and allowed violence against a patron to go unanswered. No one deserves to feel unsafe or unprotected in a public space. Shame on this place for failing to act with basic decency. Response to the owner’s reply: I want to clarify that my original review reflects my firsthand experience and sincere belief that I was the target of a hate-motivated incident. I was subjected to an antisemitic slur and responded by throwing water. The other individual then struck me physically, and I called the police to report the incident. My intent in sharing this is not to defame anyone, but to raise concern about how the situation was handled from my perspective. I’m genuinely disturbed by the owner’s response, which in my view misrepresents what occurred and frames me as the “instigator” of an encounter I experienced as an unprovoked, hate-driven attack. I stand by my account: I responded nonviolently to a slur and was physically assaulted. Being removed alongside the aggressor felt like a failure to support someone who was targeted, not a neutral or just resolution. I believe it’s important for public spaces to prioritize the safety and dignity of all patrons, particularly in the face of hate or discrimination. Sharing this experience is about transparency, not hostility, and I trust that others can decide for themselves whether they’d feel protected in this environment. If the bar’s position reflects the values expressed in their response, then it’s clear we operate from different principles. I’ll always stand with those who speak out against hate—and believe victims deserve protection, not blame.

I just love Bar 404 for all so many reason! The atmosphere, staff, and owners are all so warm and friendly. But also they do so much to support the community and local musicians and the city of Denver in general. The food and drinks are delicious! Thanks, Bar 404!!

Review for Bar 404 in Denver Last night, my band Your Own Medicine played a show at Bar 404, and we had an absolutely fantastic time! First off, huge shoutout to the sound guy—he was incredible! You could tell he really loves his job and takes it seriously. As a musician who's been gigging for the last 20 years, I've come across a lot of sound guys, and many are just quiet and seem irritated. This guy stood out because he was genuinely into the music and really made sure everything sounded great. That's a rare and much-appreciated find! The venue itself is super cool. We loved the green room downstairs (we even signed the wall—always a fun touch!). Smaller venues like Bar 404 create such an intimate setting, which is perfect for connecting with the crowd. Our fans were packed all the way up to the stage, cheering, dancing, and rocking out with us. It was one of those nights where everyone was in it together, and you could feel the energy bouncing off the walls. The bartenders were on point, really attentive, and the food was surprisingly good—definitely more than just your typical bar snacks. The sound was great, even for a smaller space, which can sometimes be a challenge. Our set ran from 9-10pm, and it was awesome to have my whole family there, including the little ones, since under 21s are allowed before 10pm. We’ll definitely be back to Bar 404, and I highly recommend checking it out. And hey, don’t forget to support local music—follow our band, buy some merch, and keep these amazing venues and the local scene thriving. We need you!

I thought I was ordering a traditional “pub grub” breakfast burrito. But damn, That was the tastiest, most will balanced healthy burrito I have ever had. I ordered extra jalapeño and that made it perfect.

Yelp
After visiting the Center, my daughter wanted lunch. It was a BEAUTIFUL day, and i had prudently worn walking boots with my poofy tulle skirt, and she was wearing sneakers, so off we went down Broadway. Daughter was craving a burger. I suggested the Brutal Poodle, but alas, it was too far away. We both spotted Bar 404, and my daughter said, "I bet they have good burgers." So we went in. This is clearly a local hangout. No one greeted us when we walked in, which may or may not have been because of the tulle skirt, or the fur jacket. Anyway. I went to the bar and asked how we got a menu. A nice man immediately gave me his. We sat down, and water arrived from one of the smiling bartenders. Daughter wanted fried pickles. I wanted the truffle fries. We got the fried pickles, which were DELICIOUS! They have Impossible burgers! Yay! And gluten-free buns! Woohoo!!! And crispy yummy fries!!! We both enjoyed our lunch tremendously. I could only finish half my burger and half my fries. Mainly because I stuffed my face with fried pickles. Oops. Puffy allergy face incoming. Sigh. Perfect dive bar. They have live music, too! Daughter will be 21 in a couple of months. She can't wait, lol. Fun fact: the kids' menu is for kids 19 and under. Yes, 19. Never saw THAT before.

Yelp
I have no clue why I have never seen this bar before. We stopped in for lunch down the street and then saw that bar and decided to pop in for a drink and check it out. Next time, we will have to try the food. It looked really good. Our bartender was a nice cute blonde girl that was super chatty. She had a great personality and seemed like she could talk to you about anything. We only stayed for a beer but we will definitely be by again. Fun place and cool vibe.

Yelp
A friend of mine Julie Monley was singing her jazz tonight. I like the neighborhood feel. Me and my friend are not a fan of the mixed drinks or the food. The service was nice. This venue is a great neighborhood kickback kind of place to listen to local talent.

Yelp
Stopped in here with my daughter to kill some and watch the Nuggets game. Great neighborhood/local vibe, good food, and excellent service with a smile. Would go back.

Yelp
Half music venue, other half Sports bar. Jazz, big band, bluegrass circles, metal - they have a variety of live bands. Patio tables & servers. Food is great, if a bit above average price. Strong drinks & a step from dive bar feel, this staple is a neighborhood fave.

Yelp
The burger was really good and was served with crispy fries, and I don't just say that about any burger so if you trust my judgment you should come here just to give it a try. Service was good too and the bartender was an Eagles fan - go Birds ! The place itself could use some updating in my opinion but overall no complaints at all. There are 3 tv screens over the bar, but this place doesn't have a sports bar vibe. There's a section that looks like it's for live music, I need to check that out some day.

Yelp
Great spot on Broadway. Tasty food. I had the Philly cheese steak. Went great with a couple beers. I would get it again. Seemed like a chill night so it was an order at the bar kind of thing. The bartender was super friendly. The weather was nice so we sat out on the patio. 5 or six tables out there. Smoke and dog friendly patio as well. Not going to blow your mind or anything. But it does not seem like that's what there are going far. Just a good place to have a couple pints, some food, good conversation and a couple laughs.

Yelp
What an incredible dive bar/restaurant. My friend Zach and I were greeted immediately upon coming in. It is on Broadway so it definitely gives that "I don't know what's behind these doors" feeling when you walk up to it. However, I am the one to take that risk. After all, I am a yelper! We sit down and order a couple of drinks. They were perfect drinks for a Dive Bar. Nothing was underwhelming. We ordered burgers. I got an impossible patty on mine. It was honestly flavorful, and the Brioche Bun was a nice touch. I had wanted to try this joint for quite some time, so I am glad I took the leap. I think I found my new neighborhood dive.

Yelp
Almost all the bartenders are amazing, but one was very green and handled a situation very poorly. I could have dealt with it better than I did, but this little punk was mouthing off with his pretentious gf and saying some backwards stuff and the bartender said, "Yeah, I get it, I'm from Alabama". I know I'm in CO and I know I'm in Trump's America again, but thought this place was different and more tolerant. Very disappointing as it was one of my favorite spots.

Yelp
I only had a two evening stay in Denver, and my hotel suggested this place for a good burger... The burger and fries were perfect, atmosphere was awesome...a genuine dive bar with a great kitchen! I decided to return the next night and had the fish and chips, and they were as good as anywhere I've been...including England, lol. Service was good and super friendly!!

Yelp
The food was definitely a 7 out of a ten. I took a homeless couple to come and eat a dinner with me. I wanted the mushroom burger. But they didn't have any mushrooms. So I had the Philly cheese steak and I wasn't impressed. But I also had some truffle fries and a salad. Those were very good . The waitress Bailey was exceptional. My dad use to take us there when we were kids. He would drink and my siblings would eat the food and play games. I would highly recommend it. The atmosphere was actually pretty chill and relaxing.

Yelp
The 420 fish and chips were overpriced. Two decent but small pieces but the third was all breading, tiny, with the smallest bit of fish inside the fried fluffy beer-battered encasement. Maybe it should be advertised as "fried beer batter" instead? No coleslaw either. Broadway Bretzel was terribly dry for 11 dollars, crispy almost burned. Not enough cheese sauce to make it able to be choked down safely. I chased with water shot after every bite. Was not pleased with price or quality. They can do better and have pride in their food.

Yelp
Excellent local bar, very relaxed vibe, good selection of beers and cocktails, throw in some food and BOOYAA! Great local joint.

Yelp
We are locals and live in the neighborhood we've been about 5-6 times and there is a particular weekend bartender that is the most rudest person ever. Her service is terrible, she ignores customers for her "friends". She makes terrible drinks as well. I work in the industry and I really love the food and energy at 404 but after having to deal with this poor service from this same bartender multiple times I'm not going to be returning. Also bathrooms are gross.

Yelp
Although. this place could serve as the poster-child of dive bats, it's worth visiting if only for its jazz on Wednesday. One day a week isn't much but given the paucity of jazz clubs in Denve we take what we can get. The night we were- there the quartet had an interesting tune list and three-fourth of the musicians were very good. If they could get the showboat saxophonist to calm down, they'd really have something. The food is unremarkable but edible. Ee'll be back.

Indigo S.

Yelp
The bartender who overcharges nearly $100 should be glad no one has pressed charges on her instead of berating customers who ask her to fix her mistake!!!

Sadie K.

Yelp
I am extremely disappointed to be writing this review but the bartender lady with brunette/blonde hair is disrespectful and rude. I cannot believe she embarrassed my fiancé about tipping when he asked for a refund on an accidental 90$ tip. She gave him a whole lecture about how we don't tip well enough and to tip more next time. I'm a bartender too, I also make 2-3% in tips per tab but what I don't do is be fucking disrespectful to my regulars that come here and bring multiple others here multiple times a month. We loved this place, now we're never going back. Genuinely if this lady stopped working there we'd happily come back everyone else is wonderful. -Sadie and Alex

Yelp
To put it in the simplest way possible: this place is BUSSSSIN. From the mozz curds to the fricklespears all da way to the damn truffle fries! W o w bless this bar food. And shout out to the friendly bartender ! And the cherry on top is I am sober. The lemonade was fire, god bless

Yelp
The service is excellent. The food is good. I've only had the giant pretzel, but everyone else liked what they ordered. My favorite is the patio, where you can people watch and see the crazy bikers doing wheelies down Broadway. It's a very chill place. I recommend it. Nick is the owner and very friendly & will set up your group meetings if you need one.

Yelp
Enjoyed a couple of beers and lunch on Saturday. Tommy, the bartender, was very friendly and gave great service. We enjoyed our meal. The hamburger and fries and meatballs and garlic toast were very tasty. Will definitely be back. The dining bar area was nice. I love exposed brick.

Yelp
This place has changed quite a bit despite the visual being similar. The new ownership has made strides to make this a welcoming place to eat and hang out, and the food is really pretty good! Check it out

Yelp
An awesome local pub with legit food (try their burgers or red chili fries). Also, every Monday you can experience live Irish music while hanging out with Jake and Casey. Props.

Yelp
Their wings are so damn good. Shout out to Danielle the new chef, killing it! Also the bartender Zonni was so sweet. Anything off broadway is great, but definitely stop in before you hit the wild crowds past 1st.
