"Located atop the Hyatt Centric Times Square Hotel, this black-tie-optional event offers stunning views with a premium open bar."

"Rooftop bars are a dime a dozen in New York and many of them offer great views of the city's skyscrapers. For now, at least, none is taller than Bar 54, which sits atop the Hyatt Times Square on the 54th floor. There are aspects of the decor that scream "chain hotel bar" but who's paying attention? The view is what it's all about here, especially at sunset. And the drinks, developed by Julie Reiner, owner of the popular Brooklyn cocktail lounge, Clover Club, are attention grabbing, too. Try the Cucumber Jewel, with gin, Lillet Blanc, Cappeletti, pampelmousse, lemon, and cucumber."

The city views were absolutely stunning, and Times Square sparkled below. Service was excellent, with attentive staff always ready to assist. The food was on par for a place of this stature and well presented The overall atmosphere was elegant, but also modern and cool. It was a perfect setting for a special occasion or a night out. I'm definitely going back for more.

Google
You're not going here to eat but the light menu is enough to keep you going till your next stop. You really are going here for the views while having a cocktail before or after your night out. We were staying at the Hyatt and visited the Bar frequently enjoying the views at different times. A must stop!

Google
Tried this place for a glass of late afternoon wine and for the view. Unfortunately the outside wasn't set up for seating, so you could only really stand outside. We were seated by the waiter inside and while admiring the view of the H&M sign from afar. We felt very squished as we were crammed into a row of tables along a walkway through the bar with all the other couples, even though there were several large sofas next to the windows which were vacant. The wine was good if a little overpriced. Service was friendly and efficient.

The ambience is really nice. I like their music. The service is good and the staff are friendly. The view is amazing. 💕✨

Google
A very cool rooftop bar right near Times Square. Was a little pricey, but for being right at the heart of the tourist areas it wasn't unexpected. The service was quick and attentive, and our drinks were delicious. Would come back. Reservations are suggested.

Robyn J

Google
Loved the views, the atmosphere, the specialty drinks and especially the attentive staff. Well run, clean, delicious, and amazing views from just about every seat.

Google
Beautiful view and good dinks. The service was not so fast and we had to sit inside although there were free seats outside and we were told we could go outside. However, these seats were then given directly to people who came in after us and who had also not made a reservation. Unfortunately bad management.

Beer from a can, Manhattan prices. Service was pretty average. The outdoor view was nice but not too much space and comfort .

Yelp
Came in on a Friday night without reservation around 1030 pm and was seated immediately Drinks 5/5: ordered the blue velvet and my friend got their mango -go. Both drinks were tasty and well balanced Ambiance 5/5: beautiful indoor ambiance and An amazing view from the rooftop portion Service 4/5: friendly and helpful but slow Value 2.5/5: 20-25$ drinks, paying a premium for the view and ambiance Overall 4.3/5: good drinks and great ambiance for a premium price. Good date spot.

Yelp
The cocktails were delicious. The views were stunning. We were seated away from the amazing views and seats because we didn't have a reservation. We were staying in the hotel, but that didn't seem to matter. No one was seated in those seats while we were there. It was off putting. We weren't checked on frequently. Basically our orders were taken, drinks delivered and then we were asked for our room number for the bill.

Yelp
I was met with warm hospitality coming off the elevator. My server was sweet and knowledgeable. I ordered the Miso Ginger Wings and the Butternut Squash, Goat Cheese Flatbread (a little heavy on the Goat Cheese, but that's why I ordered.. to each his own, I really like Goat Cheese) Had a SkY Car Cocktail. All was delish. Just to note they are more of a Small plates/tapas lounge with a great variety of delish cocktails. The ambience and view being on the 54th adds a sexy vibe.

Yelp
I had reserved the patio, but it was very hot out so they let me switch to inside. You can still step outside to check out the great views. The drinks are very expensive, even by NYC standards...most cocktails were $25. They also add an auto 20% gratuity. There really isn't much substantial to eat, so not really a dinner place. I had the sliders (2) and they were good.

Tanya M.

Yelp
Beautiful views and delicious drinks! My bestie and I decided to hit a rooftop bar before we saw Hell's Kitchen show. We came here and the view! The service was wonderful and the drink selections were delicious! I had the coquito and it was sooo good. Went outside to capture the views and they did not disappoint. Go for the views, stay for the drinks!

Yelp
Known as the highest outdoor rooftop bar in NYC, Bar 54 lives up to the hype. The view is stunning from all angles of the bar as you see many famous parts of the NYC skyline, Central Park, and Times Square. The ambiance is upscale with music at a low volume, restaurant seating, and an elegant atmosphere. Staff is friendly and attentive. We chose to sit at the bar and the bartender was good with maintaining a conversation and having a light-hearted mood. Seating is limited so I would suggest getting there early or coming on a weeknight. They are also very strict with the age policy and will not allow anyone under the age of 21 to enter. Prices are more on the expensive side, but they seem worth it, especially for the view and quality of service. I did not get to try the food but would come back to enjoy a dinner and some drinks with family or friends. 5/5 stars!

Yelp
We were staying at the hotel & celebrating my daughters 21st bday. We stopped here for drinks before dinner. When making the reservation it asked me if we were celebrating anything special so while I put down the bday, nothing was mentioned / acknowledged. We were seated by the glass window. Dark ambiance. Our server was nice. Drinks served quickly. We ordered Prosecco, wine, beer & a few specialty cocktails. The view was pretty but nothing super spectacular.

Yelp
If you are staying at the hotel, this is such a fun place to stop by. I've been several times, during different seasons, and they seem to switch up their specialty cocktail menu. Such a fun view - I only wish I've come during the months where sitting outside was comfortable. And such fun cocktails - I loved the hot toddy during the winter season and more recently loved the lychee martini. They are a bit on the slow side - so definitely don't try for a quick drink before a show - give it some time. Drinks are definitely pricy - but it's NYC, a hotel and a rooftop bar, so I was prepared. Overall, a fun experience - they do have light bites as well.

Yelp
Located at the top of the Hyatt Centric Times Square. We had to come check it out because it is the tallest rooftop bar in all of NYC. Ended up coming every night after our long days exploring NYC. It was the perfect unwinding spot. They mainly have alcohol and finger foods on their menu. Their cocktails were unique and well-balanced, and we really enjoyed the spiced nuts that were on the menu too - usually nuts can be too salty or sweet but these were just perfect. Service was friendly and attentive. Make sure to make reservations on Resy!

Yelp
Excellent place to scape the loud Times Square and still enjoy the mesmerizing views. Loved the drinks and flad bread pizza we had

Yelp
My mom and I stayed at the Hyatt for her 70th birthday and her first time visiting NYC, and this was our go-to spot! The GM Sam and bartender Drew honestly made this experience for us so much fun. We felt like part of the family there. The thoughtfulness, courtesy and just fun atmosphere truly enhanced our entire experience of NYC, thanks to them and the crew there. Yes the views are amazing and the drinks are delicious, but the people who work there are what make this place special. I can't thank them enough for all they did to make this trip special for us, even writing my mom personal notes as keepsakes to remember the trip and our fun! I highly recommend you stop by here in you're in the area!

Yelp
Amazing cocktails, amazing views and amazing service by Stephanie. I cannot express how much I enjoyed this experience .

Yelp
Last night, I took my friend to Bar54 to celebrate her wedding. I was disappointed with the seating, the wait staff, and shocked that they added auto gratuity for a tab of only two. As someone who has been in the service industry for over 10 years, I have never seen this except for larger parties, not two people. This left a bad taste in my mouth especially as our waiter was not attentive. I would not recommend this bar.

Melanie B.

Yelp
Tourists beware! They will guide you to sit at a table rather than grab a drink at the bar so they can add the hidden automatic 20% gratuity. We had 2 espresso martinis for $60. Do not come here!
google avatar

Lorrie Y.

Yelp
Stopped here for drinks before dinner reservations! We went a little off menu but they made a delicious lychee martini! The view was amazing on the rooftop of the Hyatt and service was quick!

Yelp

Yelp
Great spot to go to anytime. Enjoyed my stay at the Hyatt and this is a plus! The staff is funny and so professional !

Yelp
Service was horrible. They age profile. If there are more than 4 in your group they expect you to pay bottle service fees. Crowd was on the older side. Groups in their 20-30's be aware they will push you away. Overpriced. Not allowed on the patio / balcony
google avatar

Paco P.

Yelp
Good music. Good drinks. Okay service. Okay view. Good food. It's all overpriced for what you get. Somewhat of a tourist trap feeling. Would not come back.

Yelp
We had a reservation for dinner at 7:30 pm on the outdoor rooftop area and they kindly took us about 20 minutes early. It was pretty packed with what looked like people networking and/or coming out of work. Unfortunately, we got the worlds tiniest table and we ordered two beverages and food items. It was a tight squeeze but such is the life in the big city. The table was way too small for the food and the food was okay but not what we were expecting. The flatbread got cold really fast and the hummus came with a crispy thing that was not a pita nor a pita chip. I didn't have any huge ideas for what to expect in terms of view but we were underwhelmed because all we could see a is a little part of the Hudson and a small window of a view down to time square. I wasn't particularly excited about the wait staff, he was nice enough but he was strange and he kept spacing out and staring at the sky while we were patiently waiting for our bill. We also noticed that it was quite small and the outdoor space did not go around the building so there wasn't much to see. The drinks glasses were super sticky and left me feeling like I needed to wash my hands every few minutes. We only had two drinks and two appetizer dishes and our bill was $140 dollars, which in my opinion is unnecessarily high for what we ordered. Overall, I don't see us returning any time soon but thanks for the experience. It definitely gave us something to talk about on our way back to our hotel.

Yelp
Customer service is terrible. Was given a lot of attitude for splitting a check and it's not necessary.
google avatar

Ploy N.

Yelp
View was alright but the menu was super limited for both food and drinks. Also prices were pretty outrageous. Wouldn't do a big meal here. The Sensei that I got was sort of a Match Latte. Slightly bitter. Not bad but don't think it's worth the $21. They also only do reservation only which was unecessary. Would not try to hard to go here eventhough they've got some view.
google avatar

Natalie M.

Yelp
It has a view. But otherwise I don't recommend it. There's a very limited snack menu and the drinks are expensive even by NYC standards. Good luck flagging down a server to take your order. No wonder they take your credit card when you order, even if you're sitting at the table. There's an AUTOMATIC 18% on every tab, even for 2 people. They delayed forever bringing us our bill so we wouldn't look and tip them twice. Really awful service tactics to get extra tips they definitely didn't deserve. There's so many other great options on this area that you don't need to make the mistake we did.
google avatar

Yelp
This is located inside of a hotel and there's security or some kind of gate keeper downstairs that's incredibly rude to make sure you're going to the bar. I get why he's there, but that's the first impression of the bar and it kind of tainted everything else. The host was seat you unless your entire party is with you, it can't just be some of you - despite having a completely empty bar. The views are nice! That's where the star comes from, but this place just overall had bad impressions before we even got seated and it made us not even want to get drinks here. I refuse give my patronage to a bar that has terrible service already. Such a shame because I thought this would be a good place to hold our corporate events seeing as my office is very close. Pick another overpriced rooftop bar in Manhattan and don't settle for crappy service when there's so many nicer ones!
google avatar

Frank D.

Yelp
I called to make a reservation. The lady on the phone told us it was not necessary ON A SATUERDAY NIGHT. We hopped into an UBER to go there (money wasted) just for the security to tell me "it was full" there and did not let us in. The owner of the business has to get their employees together so they don't waste people's precious' time anf waste taxi money. The owner SHOULD NOT let their employees suggest the potential customers go to waste. That was disrespectful considering how far we had to travel from.
google avatar

Diana C.

Yelp
Stayed at the hotel so had to check out this bar. It's really cute inside and the drinks were tasty. Only taking one star away because the deck was closed and I was really looking forward to it. The service was great.
google avatar

Debbie S.

Yelp
Best cocktail EVER! It's an expensive place but worth it for the amazing drinks, view and ambiance. Food was tasty too! I enjoyed the chicken sliders with a lot of chicken and bacon! My cocktail had dragonfruit, egg whites, lime, and I have no idea what else. I loved it! Very strong too. Can't wait to go back and try their new pumpkin cocktail.
google avatar

Keizzel C.

Yelp
Didn't come here for food but came by late an night for a night cap so we had around a 10PM reservation. It's one of the highest rooftops in the city (if not the highest) so it's a popular spot. Be sure to reserve in advance so you can ensure you can watch the view for sunset or to enjoy the lights from Times Square. We came a little bit before our reservation and were able to be seated already. The tables near the window were full but we got a good spot in the back near the deck door so we could see the lights but had access to view the outside. It gets chilly that high up so just bring a light sweater but it's a nice view to check out. Drinks here are priced for the view so ~$20 but they were solid cocktails.
google avatar

Amber P.

Yelp
We had a really nice time here! Firstly, make sure you make a reservation, it's really easy to go onto their website and go to reservation prompt and they have a list by the half hour. The security guys are a little intimidating but just show them your reservation. Once you're there the service was really great, attentive and nice. For drink, I had the S'more cocktail it was great. The views are unreal!! It was drizzling but that didn't stop us from taking a look down below at Times Square. It was definitely a memory I'll never forget. Worth the trip up.
google avatar

Yelp
Some of the photos that I originally tried to post did not attach. I wanted to add these photos of the drinks I tried. Once again, I loved this bar. The drinks were probably the best drinks I have ever tasted. The Peals in Paradise hands down was my go to while there. I love exotic flavors like lychee.
google avatar

Eric R.

Yelp
5 stars for the venue. The drinks have a unique spin. Can you really complain about the prices anywhere? If you get a good drink in a cool place it's gonna cost a bit more.
google avatar

Jackie S.

Yelp
Positives - Great view...there is a "balcony" area that you can walk out on and check out the surrounding buildings. It has a great view of the ball drop if you ever happen to go for NYE. The menu is small, but was pretty good. I tried the Margarita Flatbread and the Beef Sliders. Negatives - There was an alarm blaring from the moment we entered the elevator, all the way upstairs to the bar, and while seated and waiting to order. Who knows how long it was going on before I got there. The menu is only available via QR code. My friend didn't have her phone and couldn't look it up and when I tried, the lighting/code was causing an issue and wouldn't pull up. Even the manager had a hard time pulling it up and had to try a few menus, and a spot with different lighting, to get it. I think they should definitely have regular menus on site for things like this.
google avatar

Sallie D.

Yelp
Low key uncrowded (secluded) rooftop spot that is a great hidden gem. Part of the Hyatt. Food and drinks are eh but let's be honest, who goes to a rooftop for anything other than the view? Shrug. You'll get some nice photos on the outdoor terrace. The seating is indoors. Waitress was a bit aggressive hounding us to order more drinks or kicking us out. But it's ok. Net net still a great deal for avoiding annoying crowds.
google avatar

Keshante A.

Yelp
Really nice place! It's inside the Hyatt of Times Square. We didn't have reservations but they let us in for the bar which we were grateful. it took about 30 min to get drinks--the bar was slammed, he was making drinks for the dine in guests as well. Other than that, the rooftop view of the city was great. The chairs outside had no padding so it wasn't too comfy to sit. They add an automatic tip to the drinks. A glass of wine was $22, which is a bit pricey in my opinion. The food looked yummy though, I wish we could've eaten there!
google avatar

Luis O.

Yelp
Terrible service, 2 drink minimum. Would not provide water to our active military friend without ordering alcoholic beverage. Would not recommend. I would rather go to 230 fifth rooftop bar instead. As a Hyatt member we usually stay at Hyatt Centric Times Square every year or so and usually go to the rooftop bar since it is easy access from the room. Awfully bad, terrible service. Especially if you are active military, THEY PROVIDE NO WATER TO MILITARY. We went on a Friday night around 10pm and were sat down at a table. Server comes to take our order, 4 of us order a drink and our active military friend asked if they had Heineken 0 (alcohol free) server was rude and said no that only what is on the menu. We asked if they had any alcohol free drinks for our active military buddy and server was no help. He said 1 drink minimum. So we order a water, he said no, 1 drink minimum. The next person in our group was still looking at the menu and was not ready and said he needed more time to look at the menu. Server said, he could not order our drinks since every person needs to get 1 item. As Hyatt guests we have access to the deck. View is just okay, not amazing. We ended up going to 230 Fifth Rooftop bar for $20 per person which included a free drink ticket and the views were amazing. The service at 230 Fifth Rooftop Bar was better and better drinks. Hyatt Centric Times Square is no longer a go for our trips, will look for other places. We spoke to manager there and they did nothing, manager insisted that it was a two drink minimum per person. GM, please explain where does it say 2 drink minimum to receive service. Bringing this up to Hyatt Headquarters.

Yelp
Oh what a night! If you're looking for a nice place to go for great drinks, great atmosphere AND great views of NYC, look no further! Make a reservation (we made ours while walking there last night) and head on up to the 54th floor of the Hyatt Times Square. Intimate feel, great drinks, small plates and attentive service...you just can't go wrong.

LS C.

Yelp
Visiting Bar54 felt like an episode of Seinfeld. The folks at security minding the elevator took one look at us and told us the place was full. No soup for you. It's unclear if the place is poorly managed. Or very ageist. Either way, it's not a good look.
google avatar

Jey S.

Yelp
Bar 54 has unfortunately taken a hit since the pre-COVID days. The decline in quality is noticeable, and the once vibrant atmosphere seems to have lost its charm. Service is lacking, and the overall experience falls short of what it used to be. It's disheartening to see a decline in standards, and I hope they can regain the essence that once made it a better place before the impact of COVID-19.

Nitin B.

Yelp
Zero value for money. They advertise an awesome view but prefer to sit people in a room without a view -even when there was an entire section with a view that was empty. The host has no manners -did not lift his head once to ask us why we decided to get up and leave. The drinks are not cheap, but when you pay top dollar you expect top service. Not here. Do not go here. The waitress was very nice and apologetic and nodded in agreement when we told her why we were leaving.
google avatar

Alli N.

Yelp
What a view! From the time we walked in, the host was friendly and accommodating. We had the wagyu sliders and multiple drink - all delicious. Mizanur A. was a phenomenal waiter and we cannot suggest the blueberry crumble(drink) enough! Thanks for an epic evening!
google avatar

Yuki I.

Yelp
Great views of Times Square, but drinks are expensive and the paloma I got was too sweet. We had a time reserved, but we still had to wait a bit for our seats to be ready. It was a bit chilly outdoors, so when they eventually seated us on the rooftop deck (right across from another couple, which was a tad awkward), I immediately rushed back inside and asked to be re-seated indoors. They were happy to rearrange our seating for us, which I appreciated.
google avatar

Nicole D.

Yelp
Went here on a Sunday night and was sat fairly quickly with no reservations. The customer service was iffy I personally did not feel welcomed the whole time. The server asked my partner if he wanted to wait for me to decide on a drink after I said wanted water and he asked for a Manhattan. Which I thought was weird since he put his drink order in. Why put him on the spot and ask if he wants to wait for me? Anyways, the drinks and the ambiance are super chill. That's why I would come back if I was visiting the city again. The food is a little pricey 24 dollars for only 3 beef sliders is a high but what can you expect for the location. The view is beautiful outside at night and is worth experiencing at least once!
google avatar

Lochan S.

Yelp
Great view from the rooftop, and the drinks are decent but the staff was very unfriendly. Not a ton of food options for vegetarians. The location is fantastic though if you want to grab drinks on your way to a Broadway show.
google avatar

Rosita C.

Yelp
Beautiful views of the city. Pricey but worth it. Drinks were made very well. Service was impeccable. Only had time for a drink this time.
google avatar

Yelp
I'm just a bumpkin from Arizona but my buddy said we had to go to this place while on vacation in NYC. I was expecting it to to be pretentous and stuffy, but not so. First off, like the name says it's 54 floors up on the rooftop of the Hyatt. Second, it's super-chill with a cool summer breeze, city cacophony, and laughter. But mostly, the service is spectacular! We're we're there in our shorts and tennis shoes and this amazing server Cristina made us feel like billionaires that flew in on a helicopter. She was so funny and attentive that we had to stay for a third round. Make a reservation. And hey, go ahead and ask for Cristina... quite possibly the best server in the whole city.
google avatar

Jack W.

Yelp
This is a must stop for anyone staying at the Hyatt Centric and honestly anyone else within distance of it while staying elsewhere. Great drinks, great service, and no doubt one of the best views from a bar in the entire city!

Yelp
Talk about a romance with a view !! I mean this made date night reach a whole new level! I knew I wanted to go to a skytop bar and not many have this amazing view. Firstly, you must make reservations through Resy (even if it's just for the drinks) and you get a text telling you to come up to the 54th floor of the Hyatt hotel building- my ears were popping lol!! But it's a fast smooth ride up. You're greeted by very welcoming staff who check you in and ask for your IDs. The drink menu is pricey not going to lie here. I paid $21 for my martini and my boyfriends beer was $12. The tip is also Included around 18%. I know my drink was expensive but dang it was good (I made it last sipping on it for an hour lol). The tables weren't out yet (April is when I went) but the weather was beautiful at 50 degrees so we had to step out onto the skytop to catch the view. I mean I was taken back. This literally is such an amazing experience- but careful when you look down hahah. The pictures we got were fantastic and it was so romantic!! I wish it had some better music vibes but the classical feel was okay at least it wasn't dead quiet. I would definitely recommend this place as a stopping grounds to really see what NYC looks like especially at night!!

Xochitl C.

Yelp
Highly recommend this place. You have great views of the city and the drinks are phenomenal! My Boyfriend, now fiancé, proposed to me there. So this place will remain dear to me. The waitress took a video of the proposal which we both appreciate it very much! Thank you Bar 54 for making our night that much more special!
google avatar

Yelp
One of the coolest rooftop bars in the area! We were nearby our hotel The Roosevelt and walked over. We took the elevator straight upstairs and since it wasn't busy we ordered drinks at the bar and walked outside to the patio and sat on the sofas. The view is spectacular, unlike anywhere else that has a skyline that can reach the sky. Drinks can be expensive so it's not a place you want to stay all night unless you have an expense account. But, it's a great place to start or end the night! Located atop of the Hyatt Times Sq near 45th & 7th Ave it's not hard to find. Since coming back to LA, I've told several friends visiting to check it out and they thanked me for the recommendation! Big Fan.
