"The thrill of seeing Loyola University make the men’s basketball Final Four may have been too much for Bar 63. The sports bar, a gathering place for Rambler fans, closed on September 28, according to the Loyola Phoenix. The bar’s name comes from 1953 when Loyola’s men’s team won the NCAA championship." - Daniel Gerzina

The staff was great. Unfortunately, they let some random "videographer" set up shop upstairs in their open dance area, and the guy cleared the room out with a very, very cheesy act. The bartenders were friendly and that's what redeemed the lackluster ambiance, somewhat. Pretty clean sports bar with Golden Tee, Buck Hunter, darts, pool, and televisions. Pretty large area and not crowded at all.

I'm a local, but only went to this place once on the day I moved here two years ago and haven't thought about coming back since. The food was decent but the staff all seemed aloof and inattentive. We had to practically beg for our waitress to both take our order and give us our bill. The place seems pretty popular with the local Loyola crowd and was pretty rowdy, which was surprising because I had gone in the middle of the afternoon on a week day. On weekend nights the place does have a line to get in regularly, which has me hope that maybe this place isn't that bad and that I just got a particularly incompetent waitress that isn't reflective of the genera establishment. I may go back in the future to give them a second shot but really have little motivation to do so given there are other places nearby that I have enjoyed greatly.

This place is not what I had experienced a couple of years ago. The beer selection is not terrible, but they had been out of many of them on several occasions. The help is generally uninterested or not well trained and disappear for long periods, and this is on a slow day. The male bartenders could really care less. I've only been waited on by one really friendly server out of all the times I've been there. On some days you have to put up with really bad R&B/Hip Hop music that people play on the jukebox. This really is more of a student hangout. It could use some improvements as far as food and service. They have served under/over cooked chicken and bad lettuce many times. But with a pool table, large TV's, and a large space, it makes for a good group hangout.

I've been here for a department event and drinks with friends, but experiences have been great! I seem to always run into the manager and he make sure everything is taken care of and that you are happy. The back lounge area is nice for bigger get togethers.

The best party experience that I have had. We held my partner a birthday party here last night. The staff was absolutely amazing and very accommodating! The food was delicious. All of my guests loved it, especially the chicken quesadillas, buffalo, wings and pizza. Megan, our bartender was great and helped us get everything that we needed, even the things that were not bar related. Mike, the manager i believe, was super helpful and responsive throughout the event and preceeding. We were allowed to play our own music and rearrange the event space as we saw fit. The other staff person, i forgot his name, was super nice as well. I would definitely recommend Bar 63 to folks looking for a laid back atmosphere/event space with delicious food. I am already trying to see what event I can have here next!

This bar was once known as Hamiltons now repainted and fancy chairs in the back. Ive been here a few times since I've graduated from Loyola and its ok. Food is ok but a little overpriced. Drinks are cheap enough and the staff is great. It's a college bar it's really not meant for anyone over the age of 22 but still fun for nostalgia sake

My boyfriend and I have come to this bar a few times. Our first two experiences here were great. They had a great Latin band and good bar food. Upon our third visit, when we walked in, the place smelled like mold as soon as we walked in. I am allergic to mold and could smell it immediately. It smelled as if they hadn't cleaned the place in months. When we walked closer to the bar, it started to smell like vomit. The bathroom looked clean at first glance but was very dirty. I'm sad that a bar with so much potential lost its way after so little time. It's time to get someone in the place just to clean.
