Hit or Miss Experience We visited this bar twice last week, and honestly, it felt like two completely different places. On our first visit (June 12), the experience was absolutely amazing. The waiter who served us was one of the friendliest I’ve ever encountered, and I ordered a lot of tapas and sangria. Everything was incredibly delicious. In fact, we loved it so much that we came back later that same day — and once again, the food and service were just as outstanding. But the next day, we returned and unfortunately, the experience was a complete letdown. The new waiter (also a guy) wasn’t nearly as friendly, and the food was honestly disappointing. I ordered a lasagna that came out cold and just wasn’t good. My friend ordered the same meat dish we’d had the day before — which had been excellent — but this time it was also cold and not well-prepared. We later found out the chef was different: a woman the first day, a man the second. Regardless, a place like this should maintain consistent quality, no matter who’s in the kitchen. That’s the reason I’m not giving 5 stars for this bar. But if I had to rate it based only on our first day, it would have been an easy 5-star experience. Still, I’d consider coming back if I ever return to Seville, just to take my chances again and based on how great our first experience was. The prices were also quite fair, and it was the cheapest sangria we found in the city.

Google
It was truly an incredible experience. Every tapa that we ordered was very delicious. Waiters were very friendly, and the prices are quite affordable. Only problem could be that you don’t find an empty seat, as it is a small bar. I would definitely recommend here.

Google
The place was crowded all the time, needed to wait for a table even though we came before 7pm. The food took a long time to come as well. The salad was lovely, well seasoned. The rest are average except the wok with baby squid were way too salty. The price is pretty good though so good value overall.

Google
Only good things to say about this place! Absolutely amazing, yes its small but its worth it! I was there for breakfast and lunch and everything was incredible from the coffee, to the beer and sangria... the food was also delicious, my absolute favorite was the croquetas! The best ones I've ever tried, we got a bunch of stuff and everything was delicious. The service was great too, fast and always with a smile which is always appreciated specially in Sevilla 🤪 would definitely come back, and if you're in Sevilla do not miss going to this bar!

Google
Unbelievably tasty food! Everything we ordered was delicious and so satisfying, especially Pollo a La Alfalfa! Very nice staff too. It is a small place and can’t fit many people, so I’d recommend coming in earlier in the evening but it is well worth the wait.

Google
We love this place! We have visited this place three times during our vacation. Service is unique and simpatico. Dishes are very tasty and very worth for their price. Atmosphere is very nice and the people work there are really full of life! Do not expect good service (it is very fast by the way, but finding place is very hard) but the authenticity is worth it!

Google
Great food and friendly staff, it's definitely worth the wait 👍🏻. The place is really small, if you see ~6-8 people standing outside it might mean 30+ min of waiting. Also, the aircon hit right in the middle of the room, make sure to bring a little jacket if you're like me and get cold easily 🥶.

Google
We were in Seville for 5 days so tried a number of very highly rated tapas resturants, and this was leagues above the rest. We had to queue the first time for dinner (100% worth the wait) but we came back a second time for lunch and if you get there for 12.15 its busy but we didn't have to queue. The staff are wonderful, smiley and having fun. Great atmosphere as the bar itself is tiny. Food is amazing!! Would recommend the pesto on sourdough, pork cheek, provolone..so many amazing dishes. DO NOT SKIP THIS if you are visiting Seville!! Best food and experience.

Yelp
A charming and cozy local tapas bar and the best way to say a sweet goodbye to Seville. The place is quite small but popular with locals and travelers from all around, so expect a bit of a wait, which is worth it. We ordered 5 tapas for 2 people, and left very happy with the food and service.

Yelp
The food was good but the people working there were very rude. They were not welcoming or patient when my husband was trying to order. They don't treat tourists with respect.

Yelp
WOW! Amazing, tasty, and fresh local food; wonderful ambience with a very cozy and historic feel; and delightful service! Everyone was so helpful and always smiling! Not to mention the amazing cheese tapa and paella we had! This is not a fancy or sit down place but a casual spot to eat & it can get crowded as it is small so don't come with a large group of people. Although there are bathrooms, there are no sinks to wash your hands so travel with a bottle of hand sanitizer. Highly recommend!

Yelp
I stopped by Bar Alfafa in Seville after reading all teh reviews. The restaurant definitely did not disappoint. It had a really chill vibe for traveling solo or in a group. In terms of food, I tried their Pork Cheek. The meat was surprisingly tender and flavourful. It was also really affordable, especially given the location (in the touristy area). Probably my favourite spot in Seville so I'd give it 9/10

Yelp
Stumbled upon this local little tapas joint where we grabbed a quick bite of cafe con leche + tostada con aceite, tomate, y jamón on our very first day in Seville. As we planned to only be in the city for a couple days, we decided to take an early flight from Madrid to get a fuller day of sightseeing upon arrival at 9 am. Alfalfa was an easy 15ish minute walk through the quaint streets from the lovely boutique hotel we stayed at near the Alcázar. Service at 11ish was quite slow and only a few other people were inside. We sat ourselves at the bar and ordered from there. Great breakfast bites selection for wonderful prices. The jamón was spectacular. Would've loved to see it in full form during actual nighttime but it was great to have as an option for breakfast!

Yelp
We came at like 8pm. The line was out the door. This place is small inside . The wait was like 20 minutes. The service was fast and smooth. We got sangria, pork cheek, baked Provolone, grilled Steak, wok in squid ink, smoked Salmon and fried cod. The steak was amazing in texture and taste. The fried cod was tasty and moist inside. The smoked salmon was salty. The wok in squid ink was too salty from the sauce which tasted like soy sauce . The pork cheek was so tender and Flavorful. Overall a great experience and amazing food

Yelp
Stopped in for lunch while in seville after a recommendation. Tiny bar was packed when I arrived and it took a few minutes to get a seat. I sat at the bar and what a great. The bartenders were great, singing, dancing and having a great time, all while moving quickly to keep patrons happy. The food I had was fantastic. Started with some fried provolone and then the Carrillada de cerdo (pork cheek stew). The stew meat was tender and loaded with flavor, I could have eaten a second bowl it was so good. Best meal I had in Spain while traveling. Great place to relax and grab a quick bite with a fun and festive atmosphere. Highly recommended.

Yelp
A must try if you're looking for tapas in Seville! The place is small but the staff was very nice and they play lively music to set the mood. Ordered a variety of tapas and sangria. The sangria was sweet, refreshing, and the perfect drink to quench your thirst after a day of sightseeing. My favorite was the scamorza cheese which was served hot with bread and crackers. It had a smoky taste to it which worked well with the creamy texture. We also got the aldaluza which is a slice of toast with salmorejo sauce and ham. The toast had a nice crisp which offset the savory sauce and the ham pieces were just perfect! We also got tue wok iberico which had sauteed noodles, vegetables and iberico pork. It was nice and saucy, packed with flavor. Finally, we got lasaña de retinto which is the spanish take on lasagna. It was creamy and loaded with beef. Overall a delicious and filling experience for a low cost!

Yelp
SEVILLE SPAIN - 05/ 02/23 - Absolutely amazing on every level. As usual perusing Yelp trying to find a place to eat I see Alfalfa & 2 of my Yelp acquaintances had eaten there. Salena my friend from Chicago & Lily (formerly from Chicago now in Copell TX). Alfalfa is rated 4 1/2 stars on Yelp for good reason. When we arrived we stood outside waiting for over an hour to gain access as it was packed & for good reason. The restaurant is on triangular corner w/limited space. The space is a high volume but the space above is very creatively utilized crammed full of an assortment of wines racks. This restaurant is small but vibrant full of people and staff chatting around you w/music playing & the server walking around singing the songs. We ordered 4 dishes which proved to be plenty for the * Tallerin de Calemares - Black Noodles w/baby squid (excellent) * Salmon Marinado - Marinated Salmon on Bread w/potato salad * Bacalao a La Roman - Cod Fish * Roja Tapa - Pesto w/Pecorino cheese & Pine nuts on toasted bread And a ice cold grande brewski (oops). I mean Creveza to wash it all down We sat at the bar quick service outstanding food & inexpensive. Dinner $22.60 Euros plus tip. You can't even get a good burger & beer in Chicago for this much & the food was outstanding in an awesome lively environment. Hell yeah I'll go back again if I make it back to Seville. I LOVED THIS PLACE

Yelp
Best tapas I had in Seville. It's a must try if you're visiting. We waited about 25 minutes to get a table. You order at the bar and pick up your food when they call out the order. Everything was sooo cheap. Our total bill for 2 people was only 40 euros. The same meal in the US would have cost $200. We got 2 sangrias, 2 glasses of wine, and 5 tapas. The sangria was really good and wasn't too sweet. The caprese salad had a ton of oregano and the cheese/ tomato tasted super fresh. We got an Andalusian bread which was basically bread with tomato sauce, mozzarella and ham. The chicken was my favorite dish. It was tender and juicy and the sauce was garlicky and amazing. The salmon was decent though not my favorite compared to everything else. The wok squid noodles was my second favorite dish.

Yelp
The service was great and the food came out piping hot. It was very affordable and the place had an amazing vibe. It is very small but you can drink why you wait. Enjoy.

Yelp
Excellent food. The flavors were perfect. A bit crowded but we had great food. The place was packed in the afternoon and people were just sitting together with strangers and having conversations. Highly recommend this place.

Yelp
Excellent tapas, cool ambiance, good music. Staff has it all under control. Just not big enough for all the people who want in! Go early or stand in line.

Yelp
Out of our entire 2 week Spain trip, this was the only restaurant we visited twice. For a few reasons. First, the service and attention to detail was awesome. It's amazing how much output there is for such a tiny kitchen. We asked the amazing employees how many workers there were and in total, there are 12, including the different shifts the restaurant has. When we looked it looked like there were only 3 staff members taking orders, cooking and serving dishes. There's a short-haired female worker and a really upbeat young guy who we absolutely loved. They were both extremely friendly and made us feel so incredibly welcomed. Second, and most importantly, the food was amazing. We ended up getting the pork cheek stew, salmorejo, pollo a la alfalfa, tosta de ibericos and lots of gin and tonic. It was all so amazing and everything came out piping hot and perfectly presented. The pork cheek stew and the alfalfa chicken were the two stand out dishes.

Yelp
Loved this little place in Sevilla Spain. Cutest ambiance. Great food. Self service pretty much and you must wait your turn. It's tiny and very popular. You wait by the door and hope the lucky people inside eat fast and leave. We arrived just around noon and wait for 25 min for a table. You can take a look at the menu while you wait and look at what people order to get inspirations. That 25 min was fast but slow at the same time. It went quick because I was busy looking at everything inside the bar. It looked like straight from the Harry Potter movie. It went slow because all the delicious food came out of that kitchen was salivating. You can check out my photos to see what we ordered. They had an Asian spin in many of the dishes. You have to help yourself with dishes and order soon once you are seated because people are waiting to get it. You should enjoy the food and the atmosphere but don't linger for unnecessarily long just to be respectful. Loved this little place. It is on Yelp, so it is a little touristy. But it is small enough to not attract a ton of crowd.

Yelp
The best bar and restaurant in Sevilla. The food, drinks and vibe were all amazing. Highly recommend the wok with squid and pork cheek, as well as the sangria!

Yelp
Delicious tapas. Prompt service. Adorable interior that is cozy. Staff is friendly. Not overrun with tourists and filled with locals. We sampled a variety of tapas and nothing disappointed us.

Yelp
This was our favorite tapas spot in Spain. We had a lot of good tapas during our two week trip but still talk about how good the tomato bruschetta here was. This is a rather small cozy place with a super casual vibe where both locals and tourists gather over vino and tapas for evening chats and that's what made the experience special yet approachable. Service was amazing. There isn't a dedicated line for seating and you just grab a table as it becomes available. We weren't aware of this and a lot of people walked in and out the doors constantly and the host noticed and was kind enough to save us a table. We ordered a whole bunch of tapas and tinto vino/sangria to go with it. The pork cheek stew and the tomato bruschetta especially were exquisite and had so much flavor. The meat was juicy and tender and they weren't kidding when they said tomatoes in Spain are divine. The Berenjenas rusticas is a marinated eggplant dish and was perfectly spiced and charred. Husband also got a lamb dish which was good. Overall, a cool Tapas spot that we would visit again.

Yelp
This tiny bar restaurant was one of my highlights in visiting Sevilla for the first time. You order from the bar and the staff were friendly and helpful. We were lucky to find a table and ordered a number of items on their menu that were super delicious! The chicken tapas melted in your mouth and if had room, would have had seconds. The sangria was refreshing and an amazing price point for everything we ordered. Would love to come back!
google avatar

Kristen F.

Yelp
We had a wonderful dinner here! Tapas and cocktails with a friendly vibe. Tables are tight as with most places in the city but the staff was very accommodating and welcoming.

Yelp
Small and packed with locals and tourists. Great atmosphere. Sat at the bar and could watch all the food coming out. 2 people working the bar. One woman who was very nice. One man who was very talkative to the locals and indifferent to tourists. The beer was excellent. The white wine selection was not great. The food was fantastic. Chicharrones sitting on the bar and served when ordered was like candy. Could have snacked on it with my beer all day. The squid and noodles and the various salami selections were fantastic.

Yelp
Amazing food: recommend the Iberian cheek and artichoke flower truffle with rojo sangria. Service was nice too. Couldn't sit outside due to smokers, but inside was comfortable. Would have enjoyed music tho.

Yelp
This was one of my foodie friends' absolute favorite, must-visit Seville tapas bar -- and it seems like this is the case for many! For me, this isn't a must-visit. The tapas are definitely price-friendly and most are tasty (we particularly liked the pork cheek stew - really tender, juicy meat and yummy potatoes; the jamon iberico is also sliced super thin and we got some good fatty pieces), but didn't seem standout in comparison to other tapas we've tried. The tiramisu is excellent (strong coffee flavor, super airy marscapone). One thing to note is that the bar is super small and most of the patrons seem to linger for ages even when they're done eating and ordering additional dishes -- and the waiters, while super friendly, aren't exactly rushing anyone along even when people have been waiting for a while. Be prepared to wait even when it's not peak dinner hour! Bar Alfalfa may be great for a more laidback, authentic local experience, and as with all tapas it's great to try a bunch of different dishes for a reasonable price -- but there are similar or better tapas out there that don't require a long standing wait. Dined: September 8, 2022

Yelp
Great place. Excellent food and the staff were really nice. Small place so get there early.

Yelp
Great tapas and nice, cozy ambiance. We had an excellent meal here. The people who run the place are very friendly and everything we ate and drank was excellent!

Yelp
Absolutely a must!!! It's a small spot with few tables, so be prepared to wait a little, FOOD IS WORTH THE WAIT! Must order the pork cheek stew tapas - the best. Recommend also the lasagna and paella. Do not miss the food!!!
google avatar

Ankit M.

Yelp
Small bar with very limited seating but great local cuisine that tastes authentic. We tried the paella, wok noodles and tomato burrata and loved all the dishes. There can be a wait at peak hours to get in but we went in non rush hour and got a seat quick.
google avatar

Yelp
My gf and I stopped by this tapas bar because it was close to our airbnb and it was a great find! They have an extensive tapas menu with options for around 3-4 euro each. We ordered 4 and it was plenty for 2 people! Drinks are reasonable too. It's a casual, small place with stand only seating and no outdoor seating, so you might have to wait depending on the time of day. It was quite open around 4pm. Service is prompt and they give you so many olives as a free tapa- I was so pleased!! Great experience and great food!

Yelp
Alfalfa was my first dinner stop in Sevilla, recommended by my Airbnb host. It was probably my favorite tapas stop during my trip (and trust me - there were a lot). The location is cozy, with several high-top tables. I stopped by at 10:30PM on a Friday, and was luckily able to immediately get a spot at a small table. Head to the side of the bar to both order and pick up your food and drinks. I ordered a few things: Food: - Caprese (buffalo mozzarella cheese with tomato, oregano, oil and basil) - Berenjenas rusticas (marinated eggplant in Balsalmic vinegar with mint, garlic and oil) - Carrillada iberica (Iberian pork cheek stew) Drinks: - Zaranda red wine - Desiderata IPA I loved that Alfalfa had some lighter options that could still be ordered tapas-style. The caprese was served with what I think was fried oregano - whatever it was, it added a nice crunch to the dish. I ate it with the bread served alongside the meal. The pork cheek stew was perfectly tender and flavored. Highly recommend. While the red wine was a bit sweeter than I prefer, I loved getting to try a local IPA while in the area! All in all, a delicious meal and an extensive menu. If I had more time, I would have loved to come back and try other options on the menu!
google avatar

Eric H.

Yelp
For the price point, this place is solid. Overall, everything was good except for the squid noodles, which were way too salty. I'd recommend this spot for a casual dining experience, but wouldn't go out of my way for it.
google avatar

Joanne R.

Yelp
Definitely not a 5 star restaurant but a cool spot to eat at. Make sure you make reservations so you don't have to wait outside for 30-40 mins for dinner! It's a small spot that only fits about 15 people so they wait can get pretty long. And if you're unlucky you'll get a spot next to the bathrooms. Their servers speak English and are (mostly) friendly but are running around a lot. We wanted to order more food but our server (who past us multiple times) wouldn't look over or ask if we needed anything. Our drinks were good and the food was just ok. Overall I think if we had made reservations we would've been happier but it wasn't really worth the wait.

Yelp
Good food, great service! I went to Bar Alfalfa with my family around 10:30pm on a Monday night, and it was packed! My best friends highly recommended their Hummus so I knew I needed to come here. I wasn't surprised to see one tiny tall table open, I knew this was a bar scene and that's how most people eat tapas, but my parents weren't a fan of standing and eating. We got lucky, had 2 stools and then 2 people at the bar got up. If you are with people who are particular with how they eat, this place might not be ideal for you. On the bright side, it was one of my parent's favorite meals! They have a pretty small menu, offering maybe 12-14? tapas, lots of wine and beer, and then specials on their board. We ordered: - hamburguesa (on the board) - cooked medium, my parents favorite thing on the menu! - Pollo (on the board) - cooked in a wine sauce, not my favorite but saucy and the chicken was cooker perfectly and super easy to shred... it was also boneless thank god! - ensalada (on the board) - I think this salad had goat cheese if I'm not mistaken but it was so good! - Salmorejo - andalusian dip made with tomatoes, topped with ham and egg! SO YUMMY - Berenjenas rustica - Rustic eggplants, yummy! - Queso de cabra - delicious cheese! - Brusquetta classica - love bruschetta but a bit on the bland side! - Hummus - a bit bland for me - Jamon iberico (1/2 racion) - handcut right in front of us! - Botella de Zaranda - delicious WINE The service was amazing. The gentleman working was super charismatic and the woman was kind and patient. The music's good too!

Yelp
I think they rotated their menu every week. We ordered the pork tenderloin, some paella, and the medium rare steak. Everything tastes phenomenal. Side note, there aren't a lot of restaurants open in August in Sevilla. Obviously this one is open. From what I can tell, this is a very popular place not only for tourist, but to a lots of local as well. The pork tenderloin that I didn't get to take a photo for, it was so tender and seasoned so well, we finished it before we remember to take a photo. It is that good. If you in Sevilla, drop by and order something on the board.
google avatar

Jenny O.

Yelp
Alfalfa is a cozy, elbow to elbow sort of bar that makes you fully appreciate being in Spain. There were a number of specials on the menu, which we fully took advantage of. The iberico pork cheeks were our favorite that we ordered two dishes of it. The pork was braised in wine and absolutely fork tender that it was actually difficult to spear it with our forks! We also ordered the seafood paella, which had so much depth in flavor infused into every grain of rice. The tuna tartare was also great and had a nice kick to it that was accompanied well by sweet mango.
google avatar

Kelly C.

Yelp
The place is very small and does not seat a lot of people. We went at night around 7pm and we waited for about 10 mins before we got a seat. They take your name and call you once it is your turn. The staff is nice and very busy. You have to wait for a few mins to get a hold of them so when you do, order every you want at once. The food is very good.

Tim K.

Yelp
Could have been great but they apparently don't like Americans. Great atmosphere. Food delivery was incredibly slow and the food was lukewarm. Locals sitting next to us were served very quickly. Don't waste your time as there are dozens of places just as good or better.
google avatar

Salena C.

Yelp
HOLY CROWDED! This was the single most crowded tapas bar we set foot in! We waited a LONG time to find a seat, something I desperately needed during my first trimester. It's a fun loving environment, filled with name shouting, and passing plates of food over people's heads. They do run out of paella early, so don't plan on having any if you're going for dinner. I would say this was easily one of our favorite places to eat, and everything we had from the salad to the chicken to the croquettes were amazing.

David B.

Yelp
Visiting Seville from the US. We walked past this small corner bar and restaurant several times and it was always full. Finally we found a seat and found out why. It was super charming on the inside, very compact and full of character. The staff seemed to genuinely enjoy what they were doing and treated us so well. Oh, and the food was delicious. The Iberian ham hanging from hooks aren't just for show. We'd go back in a second. Highly recommended.
google avatar

Michael R.

Yelp
Great food and atmosphere. We randomly visited Bar Alfalfa on our first night in Sevilla. The food was outstanding and offered great value for the price. My favorite dish was the marinated eggplants and the carpaccio. We ordered four tapas and three beers for just 17 Euro. We plan to return while we are here!

Yelp
Just loved this place - it's a small place but oozes character & the food doesn't let the place down - it was a great find. We sat at the bar & the waiter was a cheerful guy happy to help - a good selection of wines & then we had the pork which was really beautiful with amazing taste on a bed of delicious potato & we also had the beef entrecôte which was nicely cooked as requested & full of flavour too. There's nothing fine dining about it - it's rustic & authentic. There's a great friendly buzz about the place & I'd go back in a heartbeat to savour the atmosphere again

Yelp
Visited Alfalfa on our trip to Seville, Monday evening around 8 pm. It was already busy, it's a small interior space so if you have a larger group you might have to wait for a bit for a table. We went to the bar and ordered a pitcher of sangria, then ordered some tapas and got a table before long. The sangria was ok, during this recent trip I'm learning I don't think I'm a sangria fan. It was sweet, and had a heavy flavor of cinnamon and another spice I couldn't discern. The tapas were delicious! We got the paella, good flavor and portion; the brusquetta with tomato, arugula and eggplant and the croquettes with chicken curry which were so good! The curry spice wasn't overwhelming and they were hot, crisp and fresh. The brusquetta was also refreshing on this hot day, light and fresh. The prices are also very reasonable.

Jay Q.

Yelp
We had a great time here for lunch. It all packed quickly. The food are great, we like the pork cheeks, it's so tender and flavorful. The atmosphere is homey and look like it's family operated and the owners are very friendly.

Yelp
Local pub. Tiny place with lots of character. Delicious calamari and great service. We will certainly visit again.

Yelp
Not impressed with the food , went there because of the good reviews, very disappointed .

Yelp
Bar Alfalfa was our last meal in Seville. It was breakfast and very good. I wish we had discovered the place sooner because then I would have tried their tapas for lunch or dinner. The place is small and cozy. Consider yourself lucky if you get a table. But I loved it and felt so at home at Bar Alfalfa. No one even batted an eye that we had our luggage with us in that tiny bar. Service is pretty casual. We ordered and picked up our food at the bar. We had a ham and manchego sandwich and an English breakfast. Both came with coffee. Everything was delicious and a bargain. We were never rushed and the people were so nice. Highly recommend.

Sebastian K.

Yelp
Great food, great location, friendly staff and awesome service! we came here all three days we stayed in sevilla for brunch.

Yelp
Our hotel is a block or two away from this restaurant and while we've thought about stopping in, it's always been very busy. Today, our third and last full day here, we finally made it in and we agreed that it is the best Tapas we have had in Seville. Everything was very delicious and they even have a decent selection of beers (compared to other places around). The brusquetta roja was amazing. For the simplicity of the ingredients, I have no idea how it was so good.

Yelp
One of the go to spots in Seville. Unparalleled pints and tapas. Great atmosphere and a little upscale

Yelp
Good food, crappy service. Prices are very decent and alcohol is cheap. The server was a bit arrogant. You order at the bar so don't keep waiting at your table for service.
