The 29 Best Restaurants In Lisbon - Lisbon - The Infatuation

"Bar Alimentar, from the owners of Tricky’s and Imprensa, feels like an after-party at the house of a minimalist artist. There’s good energy everywhere, even though there's little to no electric lighting in the dining room but rather white candles burning on every table and empty wine bottles lining the white walls. The food and drinks are as electrifying as this Príncipe Real place. It takes traditional Portuguese ingredients and elevates them with Italian-influenced flavors to create exciting bites like whipped cod with caramelized onion cannoli or fava beans vignarola with stracciatella. Any one of these dishes, paired with any of their masterful cocktails, makes Bar Alimentar the perfect place for a buzzy date night or dinner with friends." - rita geraldes

We finally visited Bar Alimentar and it was worth the hype. It's a popular place so it obviously gets quite packed, but it's still a nice and cozy place for both couples and groups. The white fish crudo was super fresh and tangy. The tuna carpaccio was also really good. Our favourite for the evening was the crispy polenta with beef tartare topped with parmesan cheese. These were simply amazing. Unfortunately, none of us enjoyed panino with grilled beef tongue. The tongue was quite robust and in your face. All the other plates had so much finesse, while this one was quite the opposite. Great wines, and good service at fair prices. Would definitely recommend.

What a lovely and enjoyable dinner experience. In terms of atmosphere and service it doesn’t get any better than this. Friendly, easy going but yet professional. And to top it up the Italian/Portuguese fusion food is incredible! So creative, so tasty! We will definitely be back next time we are in Lisbon.

At Bar Alimentar you’ll find a chilled, laid-back, and relaxed atmosphere. The candlelight and dimmed lighting make it incredibly cozy. When the place is full, there’s quite a bit of buzz, but it still feels super warm and welcoming; perfect for a date ;-) The food… wow wow wow. From start to finish: amazing. Everything came out at the perfect pace. The staff are all incredibly friendly and genuinely bring a great vibe. A big recommendation if you’re in Lisbon!

I’ve had Bar Alimentar on my list for our trip to Lisbon for months. We were able to snag a day of dinner reservation for their patio and it did not disappoint. The vibe is everything you hope for in a neighborhood restaurant. They have a decent amount of seating but somehow they still manage to make it feel very cozy. We had a great table on their small patio in the back. The staff was friendly and made it fun to be there. I loved the wide range of cocktail selections. And the food was beautiful and interesting. The whipped codfish cannolis are one of my favorite bites of all time. This place is absolutely worth a stop in Lisbon.

Great food, great vibe, fantastic wine list. Just an all around great experience. We can’t wait to come back. Definitely make a reservation though! Place was packed on a Saturday night.

Each dish is a true gastronomic experience. Even with the restaurant full, they were very attentive and kind. Delicious food, harmonious ingredients, and a cool and relaxed atmosphere. I loved it and highly recommend it; I'll definitely be a regular. See you next time!

Had the best time. Dined solo and ordered a variety of things to try! The carpaccio and tepache were by far my favorites. I did not get the spelling of her name but the Brazilian lady bartending was spectacular. A great set of staff. A bit forgetful, as I ordered something that was not included in my order but I cannot complain as the experience overall was really fun and tasty. Would recommend! Oh and I thought the price was extremely affordable. Also, being from New York City I t is hard to find similar dining experiences worldwide but this was so similar!!!!

Comfy and warm ambience, friendly staff, original cocktails named after Italian football players😄 and whipped codfish cannoli with caramelized onions and pistachios (chef’s kiss)…. Nduja arancinis and goat cheese raviolis were also super delicious… Lovely place for a date night…
