Unfortunately, my recent visit to this iconic bar within the emblematic Hotel Alfonso XIII was deeply disappointing. I fondly recall my experience in 2017 when I ordered an Ocnos wine served in a fine-quality glass, accompanied by a meticulously prepared and charming tapa. This time, however, everything seemed to have lost its spark.
The wine was served in a crude, poor-quality glass, far from the elegance expected in a venue of this caliber. The accompanying tapa was uninspired, lacking style and any hint of the charm that once defined the experience.
The cocktail offerings were equally underwhelming. The drinks lacked creativity and sophistication, while the service was chaotic. The bartenders, with very limited English skills, seemed disorganized, running around like headless chickens, which added a sense of amateurism completely out of place in such a prestigious setting.
It’s truly disheartening to see how a once-renowned venue in Seville has fallen into such mediocrity. I sincerely hope the Hotel Alfonso XIII takes action to restore the Bar Americano to its former glory, as it currently fails to live up to the high standards its reputation implies.
