The 25 Best Restaurants In Barcelona - Barcelona - The Infatuation

"“Bar Manolo” is a kind of bar, occasionally run by a senior fellow named Manolo (a typical Spanish grandpa’s name), and invariably frequented by more Manolos. Señora Dolores does a modern take on that musty old-man feel. This natural wine joint in Sant Antoni will take you back to the bars of old with its long stainless-steel countertop and furniture that’s likely seen better days. It even has a churrera (but no churros on the menu), frying up lasagne, arancini, and patatas bravas so delicately that it gives them a light, fluffy texture that almost feels healthy. Almost. As for the rest of the menu, if it’s not deep-fried, it’s raw, like the steak tartare that’s as meaty and spicy as it should be, or the marinated fresh anchovies with a tangy vinegar kick. Barcelona is known for its glass-of-wine-turns-into-three-bottles bar culture, and this spot is no exception." - isabelle kliger

Been today, an unbelievable experience. As we ordered our food, a sort of extra-terrestrial ufo jumped in and took the chef away. What they left was just an empty room, with a great wine selection to pick where. So, evene if we ordered for, no one in the end served us churros de papas as we were expeting. No one came back to ask id we needed further asisstance. I mean, we could, but no one of us were confident about deep fries process. What a shame. Next time hope no ufo will interefere with our lunch. Great wines selctions btw. Kindly mind to make fried food a little colder before to eat.

Nice service and different tapas options. Delicious french types of wines too.

Second visit & still producing top quality food at a good price all while providing great (dry wit) humourous service, vibes, tunes & natural wine! It's a homage to the traditional Spanish long bar, with a spin on 'fried food'. The owner has lots of experience & even headed up the kitchen at Bar Brutal for 4.5yrs which says its all.

Interesting food. The churro potatoes were pretty good. The lasagna was okay. I just wasn't in love with it and it lacked some flavor or spice. The portions were pretty small and it's expensive

I usually don’t write reviews but this bar is a disgrace!! The young man with the dyed blonde hair was incredibly rude the whole time to me and my friend after we rejected his initial attempt at flirting with us and giving away free alchohol. As soon as we politely declined his weird requests to hang out he essentially shunned us and refused to serve us. I would like to point out that he was clearly under the influence of something that was not alcohol. We decided to leave the second time we heard the young man curse at us in french calling us things no woman should deserve to hear. He assumed We wouldn’t understand but both my friend and I grew up in Montréal so unfortunately it was loud and clear. We felt so threatened and disrespected but decided it wasn’t worth the discussion and decided to ask for the bill. This is when he tried to overcharge us with ridiculous charges and demanded we paid cash without giving a receipt. I’m sad to write such a bad review about a small business as I’m sure it’s not all bad. I find it hard to believe that this business is okay with having such a woman-unfriendly distasteful employee. Instead of writing a bad review, I tried to return the next day to see if I could speak to someone else in the hopes he wouldn’t be there but the bar was closed for the evening. I will be in Barcelona until next monday and have no intention in keeping this review up if management can offer their apologies for this horrible experience.
