"Inspiration comes from the sunny flavors of Southern Italy in this easygoing Old Town favorite, but the cooking isn’t overly preoccupied with tradition. For instance, nonna might not countenance the amount of butter that goes into a dish of orecchiette with sausage and rapini—but the indulgent results are unlikely to elicit any complaints. Scrupulously fresh seafood is a highlight, whether it be an albacore tuna carpaccio with celery and capers, or tender grilled octopus with marinated artichoke. It’s only fitting to end a meal with a spot-on rendition of cannoli with creamy ricotta filling. Those who are particularly smitten can take a bit of flavor home: the imported Sicilian olive oil, tomato sauce and pasta lining the walls are available for purchase." - Michelin Inspector

We had the most amazing time here!! The staff were so welcoming and attentive. The ambiance was very lovely. The food was TO DIE FOR!! We all loved our appetizers and mains. The seafood was so fresh, the oysters, tuna, lobster and octopus were incredible. My brother and dad shared the steak which was cooked impeccably! Our greatest complements to the chef!

Great ambiance, delicious food. Chef run restaurant. It’s also the sister restaurant of Ardo. Though, having eaten in both I think Bar Ardo > Ardo. Cuisine is mostly Italian. I got Linguini alla Vongole and it was very well balanced. We also had mussels which were also very tasty. Desserts could have been better but that’s not a Bar Ardo problem, that’s a Toronto problem. While we were eating there they were doing a tasting menu event. Apparently there is one every Tuesday. Might be worth checking. Their bar also looked great. I will come back to Bar Ardo

What a brilliant venue! From enquiry, to booking, to prep, to our event taking place, Jacqueline and and the Bar ARDO team were superb. The canapés were tasty and plentiful. Jamie and the bar's team were attentive throughout our event and kept everyone topped up with wine. Beautifully decorated and a great atmosphere. Would recommend!

Bar Ardo never disappoints. This hidden gem in the city is built with class and elegance. Perfect venue for a friend’s gathering or date night. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted by friendly staff. The menu serves authentic Italian dishes, and flavours. The oysters are freshly shucked with a great selection of toppings. The lemon tiramisu and espresso martini are a must ! Kudos to Chef Roberto and his exceptional team.

Bloody brilliant all around. Sat at the bar with Jamie the barman also as server - he was really cool and great recommendations on plates. Had the pulpo which is excellent, just needed a hit of lemon and it sang. The tartare was bright and the star was the burrata with mortadella on bread with black truffle 🤯. It was unreal! I don’t live here but if I did, I’d be a regular.

I’ve been to Bar Ardo a bunch of times and have never been disappointed. Chef Roberto’s crafted a delicious menu with something for every mood! The atmosphere is relaxed, the service is always great and Jamie the bartender always makes it a fun night out :)

Review for Bar Ardo Our night at Bar Ardo got off to a rough start. From the moment we were seated, our server greeted us with an indifferent attitude, as if she wasn’t happy to be there. A warm welcome goes a long way, but unfortunately, that was missing. Service was painfully slow. While I understand that it was Valentine’s Day, the restaurant should have anticipated the crowd and staffed accordingly. Waiting excessively long for our food made the experience even more frustrating. The atmosphere was not ideal either. The restaurant was uncomfortably warm, the music was too loud, and the tables were spaced too closely together, making it difficult to have a conversation. As for the food, it was a mixed bag. The ham and cheese appetizer was delicious, but the rest of the dishes lacked flavor. The steak was cooked medium well, despite us not being asked about our preferred doneness—most places default to medium rare, so this was disappointing. Desserts were also underwhelming; the gelato was icy rather than smooth, and the tiramisu was overly sweet. The biggest letdown, however, was the service. The female server with ginger curly hair had a poor attitude that made the entire experience unpleasant. Front-of-house staff should enhance the dining experience, not detract from it. Overall, Bar Ardo failed to impress on food, service, and ambiance. With so many great dining options in the city, I wouldn’t return—especially when hospitality is lacking.

Linguine with wild shrimp is a must. Best to eat quickly when it’s hot. The saltiness of the pasta is perfect. Shrimp is soft and generous amount.

Yelp
Absolutely loved the experience here. My wife and I went in for dinner and drinks and really enjoyed the food but more importantly the cocktails were some of Toronto's best. I highly recommend the Chef Negroni because of the coffee aftertaste of the Campari. The atmosphere was cosy yet lively thanks to the comfortable lighting. And the noise was soft enough to have a deep conversation. The staff was attentive and the lady behind the bar made her own cocktail when my wife asked her to just make something and surprise her. Highly recommended.

Yelp
What a lovely hidden gem on East of King Street! Love seeing great restaurants setting up on the east end. I told my friend we need to try Bar Ardo out, and glad we did. Although we didn't have dinner here this time, we went for their nice desserts. We tried: TIRAMISU AL LIMONI - Savoiardi, lemon mascarpone, limoncello liqueur, candied lemon, chocolate This tiramisu was outstanding with its lemon flavour. It Wasn't tard and Wasn't crazy sweet. I could have 2 of those. And, CROSTATA AL CIOCCOLATO - Dark chocolate mousse tart, raspberry mascarpone Velvety and rich, truly a tart of substance. The ambiance of this place is trendy chic, and the staff are friendly. We patiently waited for are desserts, and it was worth the long wait. Definitely will go back for more of their menu.

Yelp
Delayed review. We were here in July, after having food elsewhere (Downtown East). We wanted good/quality cocktails after dinner. It is actually very hard to find cocktail bar in the east side, most of the well reputed bars are in west of Spadina, like Kensinton, Dundas W or Queen W or Ossington etc. But we found this place in our "good cocktail" search! We had the following cocktails, all good! Cafe e Olio Carla Carla Pina All with fine-tuning ratio of ingredients, balanced, achieving the perfect harmony between its different flavors - and boozy!! We had some dessert. Crostata al cioccolato Tiramisu al Limoni Loved Crostata al ciccolato. Using good dark chocolate! I enjoyed these dessert with Cafe e Olio (espresso flavor cocktail), which took me to heaven! I was with my colleague. Had a nice girls night with these sophisticated cocktails and sweets. But should be good also for dating occasion - interior/atmosphere is stylish but laid-back, promising for a good relaxing night.

Yelp
Good spot for cocktails and small bites. I've been to Ardo and that's a better place for full out dinner imo. But you definitely still eat good at Bar Ardo. Feels upscale but staff are so nice so it doesn't feel too stuffy. Quality of the cocktails and food is

Yelp
A gorgeous gem for date night in Corktown. Friendly, professional service, outstanding creative mocktails, and delicious food. From the team that brings you Michelin-recommended Ardo down the road, and Dova in Cabbagetown comes Bar Ardo, soon to be a destination and neighbourhood favorite. I suspect they're going to be known for their seafood to complement the drinks and the atmosphere, but we had chicken, steak, and some delicious cauliflower appetizer. The music and the lights were just right -- you really get the sense that these guys know what they're doing.

Yelp
We stopped here on our way back to our hotel in Toronto. We were drawn in by the good ratings and we were not disappointed. What a great vibe and great service. On top of that our Bartender was amazing. She made the best ole fashioned ever. If we lived close by this would be a regular hang out.

Yelp
From a musical standpoint it was like having diner at an Abercrombie & Fitch. Loud and difficult to have a conversation. Raw oysters served without cocktail sauce and minimal beer options, none of which are on tap. Menu is a challenge if you only read and speak English. Good burger, but would prefer a lettuce tomato onion option. Great service. Hoping this place doesn't make the list of my wife's "where do you want to eat" options.

Yelp
Quiet for lunch, and happily. Not because of the food and service. Both excellent. It's a new place (3 weeks) so somewhat undiscovered. Recommended. Our server was really great.

Yelp
A sophisticated, European-style treasure! Beautiful cocktail menu with a wide selection of non-alcoholic options. Food is absolutely delicious and beautifully presented. aimpeccable service. A fantastic place for lunch or to spend an evening with friends enjoying the ambience.
