Been here twice ordered the same thing twice and I must say that this place is not a disappointment when it comes to the loaded meat potato. Meat and sauce is excellent only thing I would add to it is if they added some sauce to go with it. Friend had the ribs and brisket and it also did not disappoint. Not from Texas but I will definitely be back

I don't know if it was my imagination, but I smelled BBQ. So I Googled places nearby and saw this gem near the intersection I was at. and knew I had to try it! Glad I did, the potato and drink were very delicious, and the portions were excellent. I almost ate my food before I snapped the photo! The servers were kind and very helpful! I really do want to go back to try other plates!!!🤣

BEST BBQ IN MAGNOLIA. Hands down, the best of everything BBQ and the most polite and wonderful staff. Priced so it's affordable and a selection like you wanna see and every backyard texas BBQ. Every meat we have tried has been packed with flavor and all made even better with that awesome BBQ sauce. Each side has a lil something extra you'd expect and a family gathering. A delicious and bright twist to a few of the sides will keep you coming back for more. The sweet tea is thirst quenching and light enough to down a half gallon without noticing. Last but not least, the desserts. The desserts are absolutely incredible and delicious from the variety of cobblers to the interesting, yet undeniably scrumptious pineapple fluff and Watergate salad. Do not, I repeat, do not leave there without desserts.

This hidden gem has some of the best BBQ around! Reasonable pricing and late hours make it my first choice for a quick family lunch or dinner. They also have limited on-site dining as well! I go there at least twice a month! Highly recommended!

Great place, food is really great. The brisket was a little dry but not too bad. It was close to closing so that can be normal. Definitely will be back

Tried this place for the first time after driving by many times. Very disappointed. Got brisket and pork spare ribs as they were out of baby back. Brisket was supposed to be moist and was literally THE most dried out brisket I have ever had. Tough, no marbling, and devoid of any moisture. Ribs were no better, dry and tasteless. BBQ sauce was very sweet and could have been easily out of a jar from Kraft. It was about 4:00 on a dreary Saturday and there was a lack of customers so perhaps the food had been cooked much earlier and was sitting all day. Might give this place a second chance based on other reviews but it would have to be early in the morning when the food was freshly cooked. The lady working was friendly so I gave them 3 stars for service. There is no inside eating. There was a very dark outdoor patio if you wanted to eat there.

Stopped with my work crew to treat the guys to lunch. Food was solid no-frills Texas barbecue. Everyone enjoyed the food, and portions left my men satisfied, and reenergized for second half of our working day. If I didn't live an hour away I would definitely would frequent more often.

Excellent food and great hospitality! Chopped beef sandwich and stuffed potatoes are a huge portion for the price, highly recommend.

It's okay bbq I've had much better and worse BBQ it's close and 1 of 2 BBQ places on the way home to get a quick meal if I don't feel like cooking when I get home.

This little place doesn't look like much but the service is great and the food is good! They offer a daily special and you can call in an order for pick up, which is super convenient. All my orders have been ready for pick up within 15min! Outdoor seating available via screened in porch. No "indoor" seating. I've eaten here a few times, the food is good. Great serving sizes, they will pour the bbq sauce over you meats and the sweet tea is always on par. The brisket isn't the "best I've ever had" but it's pretty good. The baked potatoes are huge and they don't skimp on toppings. The ladies are great at offering recommendations and super sweet people in general. Dogs on leash are allowed. Stop in if you're in the area and want some BBQ with a side of friendly service.

Service was great, the girl at the window was really sweet while taking our order. The food, not bad but not great... just kind of okay. And the ambiance, like 2 stars? Kind of exactly like you think it's going to be from the name "Hut"! You walk up and order at the window and they also have a drive thru window so orders can take a while since everyone is there for take out. The ranch potatoes were the best side but still not wonderful and a very small portion (4oz cups) the green beans were okay, and the Mac and cheese was almost flavorless. The brisket was drowning in overly sweet sauce but it did come with onions and pickles so that was nice? Good spot if you're in a pinch; really expensive for what you're getting...

All meat very dry. Got the "moist" brisket potato frito pie and sausage link sandwich. Everything dry. Asked for extra barbecue sauce and was charged for extra and given one cup of it. 1 out of 5 stars. Update:after eating I was up all night stomach turning. Me and my bf are having the same stomach pains. Eat at your own risk!

Ordered $70.00 of food. Mac and Cheese served FROZEN. Meats were not to our approval. Banana Pudding had cookies separate in a baggy for customer to put in pudding. Tried to see if my dog would eat some of the ranch potatoes. He was not having it. Called that night to talk to a manager about our experience. Let them know that I was bringing food back next day and wanted a refund. Also placed another order at same time for over $50.00 for chopped beef sandwiches which were served squashed and soggy. Showed up for full refund, Owner was very rude and commented that nothing was wrong with any of their food. She did give me $25.00 refund. Chump Change. A Customer spending over $120.00 and not satisfied, returning food should receive a full refund and apology REGARDLESS. Would not spend money there again. Prices, like everywhere else have gone up, quality of food has gone down as well as portion. Over all I would go back

Great food! Great service always! Try the Chicken Burrito and the banana pudding. I highly recommend it.

Had heard good things about this place since I moved to the area 3 years ago. Went for lunch about a month ago during the week. No vehicles around bldg. Next trip--2 customers. I ordered sliced brisket sandwich to-go. Bad choice. Tough and lots of grissel. Guess it's better days are in the rear-view mirror.

A classic in Magnolia, I remember they were at the old location. Their food is reliable and a safe pick, but service can be a little slow.

Off the beaten path, diamond in the rough, kinda looks like a dive, screened in porch with picnic tables, local yokels mostly know about it..........my kinda place! You have to be looking for it but it's just west of 1488 & 1774 intersection on 1488. Just go down two stoplights. I get the Link & Chopped or Sliced Beef with pickles onion and jalapeño. Blackberry cobbler heated up. Extra BBQ sauce, I like it wet and a pink lemonade. They also have a Burrito Supreme that's very yummy. Everything is good. They have a drive thru pick up window if you call in your order. Don't be shy, come by!

The sliced beef is the best I've ever had! If you are coming here definitely try that! Small restaurant, but soooo good. No complains 10/10

They serve quality meat here - ribs, sausage, ham, chicken, and beef are always delicious and the sauce is at the top of my BBQ sauce list. A sliced beef sandwich overflowing with sauce and fresh onions is my heaven! That being said, we have been shown the reluctant or annoyed attitude that other reviewers mention the very few times we have needed to knock on the window for a forgotten item. Sliced beef sandwich for $6 is the way to go - My husband always orders a two meat plate $12 and my sandwich is usually a larger portion of meat, even though it is just beef. I dig their macaroni salad and baked beans, but twice I was disappointed with the green beans. They sometimes come out mushy and greasy and I end up tossing them.The watergate salad desert (see menu for description) was way too sweet for me, but I definitely had to give it a try. We have not tried the other deserts because I am usually unable to even finish whatever was ordered for dinner!

Always good food, never disappointed. But wow the dine-in porch needs the ceiling insulated. It's close to 140 degrees under that metal roof. We don't go on sunny days.

I've been coming here off and on for almost thirty years. Not because it's to die for bbq but because it's convenient. The biggest set back for this place is the rudeness for most anyone that has ever worked here. Once again today. Dipshit dude inside stares at you for a minute or two until he finally opens the window to take your order. Today when it's ready he opens the window, plops the order on the counter and closes the window. No thanks, no nothing. Too bad there's no competition around to drive this place out of business.

Been dealing with them for years and always got great food and great service so glad they are in magnolia potatoes are to die for

Stopped by here on a quiet Sunday and received our orders in about 5 minutes. The food was pretty good and the prices are fair. I had a loaded baked potato which came with plenty of toppings. The skin was good and not dried out, which is always the chance you take with a baked potato. The BBQ beef sandwich was great and had just the right amount of sauce. The drawback was having to eat in the truck because it was 100° and the only dining option is outside. I would like to go back and try some of the desserts. Previous reviews mentioned slow service, but we didn't have that experience.

This remains my favorite bbq in the state. Historically they haven't ranked high in customer service, but that tide seems to have turned on that metric. Tonight's service was incredibly polite, even though they were obviously closing soon. The chopped beef sandwich remains the sandwich by which I measure all others. Moist beef, tasty but light sauce, large bun, and the obligatory two pickles and some onion. My wife enjoyed the baked potato, which is incredibly large, and covered in a half-pound of toppings. I can't imagine what it must look like of you actually get bbq on top as they suggest. And finally the pièce de résistance, a pound of the state's best smoked brisket. Moist, but not too fatty. Burnt ends, but from a pitmaster who doesn't subscribe to the 'char' is a flavor trend. Just a wonderful meal in the cool, open air porch in the country.

We really enjoy their loaded baked potatoes. Potatoes are freshly baked and whatever meat we add is always tender with good flavor.

Best bbq place in town!!! Super big portions. Very great for the price. The workers work so hard and they are the sweetest. Food is overall 10/10. I had the chopped beef baked potato loaded. AMAZING. I also recommend trying the deserts.

Nasty, oh my! I have never ever had sweet barbeque sauce poured on my baked potato, I mean really sweet. The only thing that was tasty about my potato was the potato itself, the sidings added to the potato didn't taste well due to the sweet sauce being poured over it. Will not be revisiting this place, it is exactly what its name says it is a Hut. Driveway into, around, and through out the grounds is dirt and mud, full of deep holes from big heavy vehicles and trucks, meaning you have to drive extremely slow. On a good note, the cashier was super friendly, talkative, and wore a smile!

I haven't been here in awhile, not remembering why I didn't like this place, but last night quickly jogged my memory. Decided to go for the chopped beef sandwich. I had the opportunity to watch them make my sandwich from the window to see them pull the chopped beef from the fridge out of ziplock bag. No big deal, they never claimed to serve fresh BBQ I guess. Finally got my sandwich to bite into the nastiest, sweet, Sloppy Joe-like BBQ. On top of the awful taste, the outside of the bun was completely hard and stale, indicating that it had been microwaved along with the chopped beef. The only reason this review didn't get one star was because the mac & cheese was good after I stirred in the remaining BBQ mush droppings. However, last I checked, I was going to a place that specialized in BBQ, hence the name of the place, not the Mac & Cheese Hut. On top of that, service was incredibly slow despite the obvious use of a microwave. Now I remember why I've only been going to Reveille BBQ down the street. I've tried out this place several times, so those of you that are saying that "this is the best BBQ in the state" are either nutty or are working for them.

Sign says check your order (because they wont). They gave me 2 meats on a 3 meat plate and didn't give me the side of sauce that i asked for. Called and no one answered but I wouldn't drive back up there anyway. That's the point of a drive through, quick and easy and hopefully accurate. Just tasted the cherry cobbler i ordered. Has an odd cardboard/wood chips taste.

First time here and the chopped beef sandwich is good pea salad is pretty good too Mac n cheese is cheesy just right and the potato salad is awesome love it

My rating is strictly for customer service. I just went to the Hut and first time since moving back. I Apparently went to the wrong window to order my food when the cashier came to the window clearly upset that I chose the wrong window I lost my appetizer. I asked her what was wrong did I do something wrong she said you're supposed to order at the back window I said excuse me there was no one there and this is my first time here in years. Honestly there was no need for her mood to many places to choose from to eat.

These little out of the way places are the best. First time visit, but I'll be back. Had the sliced brisket and link sandwich. Plenty of both meats. Brisket is tender and tasty, sausage links are juicy and flavorful. Potato salad was just a little to creamy/runny for my liking but had great taste. Friendly and courteous staff, with quick service.

Just happened on this place today. I had a chopped BBQ loaded baked potato. It's amazing and enough for 2 people. Definitely going there again!

Food is good. When they get busy they can't seem to be able to get the order right so always check it. Coustomer service is not the best. They got the order wrong and since this is the country iy takes me 15 min to get rhere so it was over 30 min to get home find out the order was wrong and get back so i took the side back they gave me the same sides back now another 15 min back and now 45 min and cold sides. It is not that you made a mistake everyone does it is how you recover from it that counts. Should have given fresh sides at leasr and maybe extra rib or slice of pie for messing up. But no just a quick sorry. But i guess when you are the only bbq place west of the tracks then what do tou care

Terrible. Ordered two pounds of brisket. It was tough, dry and tasteless. This is fourth time there in a few months, will never go back. Not sure what happened because a few years ago it was terrific. So sad.

Good stop on the way back from The Woodlands to San Antonio. Outdoor covered seating only, but they have fans. Food is pretty good. I had the chopped beef and liked it. Sliced beef is good, but add some sauce to it. Mac&cheese and corn were good. Corn comes with some veggies mixed in. 2 could share the hut plate

This place usually has extremely good chopped beef/link sandwiches . This time I came by everything was lacking . The meat was tasteless and not seasoned. They barely put any BBQ sauce in my sandwich . Also I ordered a chopped beef potato with everything on the side and they forget to give me the chopped beef. On top of all that they don't give any utensils or napkins .

Great place! Fast service, nice quiet place, great food! We were just driving through and stayed near by at a vineyard when we saw it listed near by. Worth the drive! We have planned to come back this way just for the great food. A must!

My family has been eating here for years and we love it! A great place to get a BBQ baked potato and some awesome sweet tea. Never had a problem with them and the food always tastes great and is made fast.

Excellent little barbecue restaurant that we've been eating at for years. The barbecue is invariably good oh, what are you get the chopped beef, or the sliced. We bought enough for a small family birthday party today and everyone thoroughly enjoyed the barbecue from barbecue Hut. The baked potatoes are so big and so stuffed with barbecue and all the other baked potato items! Really a great little place try it if you're near Magnolia Texas

This is the best BBQ in magnolia! The woodlands too! We drive 18miles to come to this place. They are busy these days. But the new building is nice and big. You aren't going to get run over by the train. The food is, as alway, great! We all get the meat stuff potato. I add a little extra cheese and some Jalapeño and I can bearly see the potato. They are so big! In the summer the cobblers are awesome! I also know that the chop beef and the links are excellent. It comes down to the BBQ sauce. It is creamy, rich and super tasty. I would recommend to anyone!! Enjoy!

Maybe one of the best sliced BarBQ sandwiches I've ever had. Simply incredible and worth the trouble finding this little hut.

Not Consistent barbecue I've had the ribs four times in four weeks and they have not been only bought one time tasted good and tender the rest of been tough so I'm looking for a new place to buy barbecue ribs

I wanted so much to love this place as we often enjoy supporting local small businesses. You would think the "hut" would be happy to serve their customers. We received a lukewarm greeting and unfortunately that temperature carried over to the potato salad. We weren't sure if they accidentally nuked it or if it was sitting out in the 80 degree weather. We didn't take any chances and tossed it. I was craving ribs and couldn't wait to dig in. Unfortunately, these were way too salty for my taste. The macaroni and cheese and green beans were good. We were ready for dessert and looked for the peach cobbler we ordered (and paid for) but unfortunately it was not in the bag. I immediately recalled the sign they have outside the window that alerts customer to check their order before they drive off because they will not take responsibility for missing items. Ugh!! Three strikes, we won't be going back.

Came here on a Monday afternoon. The place was interesting and the location was out there. The Mac and cheese had a ton of black pepper through it which I could've done without. The chicken was a little dry but overall pretty good as was the bbq sauce. Too many onions in the green beans. The portions were a good size for the price. We sat at the picnic tables but you're probably better off just getting this food to go.

Ordered a pound of brisket and a side of potato salad. The brisket was the worst I've ever had in my life. It was so dry that it actually had spots of discoloration on it. It also had zero flavor, no fat, barely a smoke ring around the outside and no charring. I had to throw it away. If I was an employee there I would refuse to serve that to customers. The potato salad was runny and so sweet it was almost inedible. Unfortunately, after a few bites I found an eyelash in it. An all around awful experience. Whatever you do, don't waste your money on the brisket.

Love the baked potatoes! pea salad. But, I don't like the mud and muck driving in. Spend a little on a driveway, Huh!?
