DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE A FOREIGNER.
We came to this place after midnight the night we arrived to our Airbnb. Thankfully, it wasn’t my first time in Italy because otherwise I would’ve gotten a very bad impression of the people of this country.
We were first served by a very nice lady, who was happy to to take our order before she left for the night, and toasted all the Panini that we had. We were the only five people, and I told her that each of us we’re gonna be paying for our order, we do in North America. She didn’t have any problem with that. Although it took us a little bit of time to take the order because we don’t speak Italian very well. We were precise of what we want after she placed the Panini’s on the toaster and got it ready, she said the only other employee who might well be also the owner, to help us finish the order and that each of us were paying for our own panino. Right from the beginning, that second employee in the picture had a very bad attitude. I can make myself understand in Italian. That’s not really a problem, but he always answers in a very rude manner. The final item was simply to give us a cappuccino, which he served in a regular mug, so I asked him to please change it to a takeout cup with a lid, and he was disappointed because of that request. And once he made sure that all of us paid, he told me. “Tu non vieni domani” ( YOU, Don’t come tomorrow).
Really unpleasant experience on the first day of our trip in Rome. My family members who were here for the first time were really impressed and disappointed. I know a lot of Italians, I know how Italians normally speak and interact with people; so I am certain that this gentleman was really bothered with our presence.. this cafe offers a service that does not represent Italians or even the importance of tourism in this country’s economy that the server who helped us at this cafe does not seem to show any appreciation forward in .
Really terrible and sad.
