Best Nonalcoholic Cocktails in Phoenix, Arizona | Eater Phoenix

"Bar Bianco makes skipping the booze easy with its selection of N/A drinks – that range from straightforward blends of non-alcoholic spirits with tonic or ginger beer, to more complex creations. The Mariposa Milk is a must-try made with a bit of the floral Seedlip Garden non-alcoholic spirit and the warm, citrus-y Seedlip Spice spirit mixed with pistachio orgeat, lemon juice, and lime juice." - Jamie Phillis

Bar Bianco has a very nice atmosphere in a lovely old house that was moved to this site. The front porch is lovely as are the other rooms of the house. The bar is also attractive but seems to us to be more of a wine than cocktail bar. The service is okay but we feel could make the entire experience so much better by just smiling and being a bit friendly.

Google
Great spot for a drink while waiting to be seated next door @ Pizzeria Bianco. Historic building once occupied by a Judge and moved to this site. Small menu but thoughtful and many local selections.

Walked in order a pizza to go... bar tender was nice helped with my order... Got home found something blue in my pizza, quality control is very low here. I gave them a chance to exchange the pizza, but the hostess had to rub it in to me that I had walked away with the pizza (aka, a "to go order" so it my fault in short). Hostess stated kitchen is closed for 20 minutes (which is fine but there is a polite way of saying it). I think making a costumer who is will to work with you, to fix your mistake is not a chance you miss (I was disgusted by what I saw in my pizza, how much blue mystery product did I eat "WARNING"). Hostess missed her chance for a exchange by shifting blame on me for the pizza being a to go order (Hostess stated we don't do carry out). I just walked away not worth the stress (something like we are so sorry, we value our guest. Is what would have been appropriate/ appreciated). I don't think I did anything wrong by getting a pizza to go, I'm sorry. Due to covid... I have elder at home 77 year old mother 85 year anuty (both on meds)... I try my best to protect them even if I can't enjoy dine in, but I would not want to eat here again. What's that blue thing disgusting...

Google
Very quiet and cozy bar - whether you sit inside or enjoy the weather with outside seating - just great space to wait for your table at the Pizzeria Bianco. Bring some card games to enjoy some time with friends.

Google
Next door to the famous Pizzeria Bianco is this old house called Bar Bianco. Great place to enjoy a drink while waiting for your table. They have a moderate offering of mixed drinks, wine and local craft beer (handful on draft plus a few local cans). We sat on the patio and enjoyed some AZ craft. A little pricey but worth it

Google
Ok selection of beers, prices could be better. The bar is mainly used a buffer and waiting room for the pizzeria and had not been probably less frequented I guess, but the simplest thing that would I think make sense is being the complimentary bread and oil to the bar especially when the pizzeria has the practice of basically forcing people to use the bar .... Other wise great, cozy and beautiful Spot

Google
The location is beautiful. Service and selection were lacking. Server sat on his phone the majority of our time there. Music was a very modern, eclectic blend - would have preferred Sinatra or something similar to match the atmosphere.

Kevin Luther

Google
What a cozy amazing place to get some drinks and snacks at. The service, drinks and snacks were all excellent. You could easily come here and have some great wine or cocktails and fill up on the snacks.

Yelp
I have been here a few times and absolutely love this bar - the old house and dark woods are beautiful, the vibes are high, music is right, and the bar seems so old and worn and I just love it. They have a great selection of drinks and snacks for being such a quaint little bar. The AC is blasting and there's a clean and cute bathroom here too. I would come here just for a drink, but having the best pizza next door is a plus. The bar tenders are always friendly and on top of things - highly recommend this bar for anyone looking for an intimate time and great drink, and AC.

Yelp
Next to the pizzeria, this place is perfect for you to wait while a table next door opens. We had couple glasses of wine and ordered a plate of Bianco bread (comes with olive oil) while we waited. The wines are really good, and the bread tastes absolutely fresh, not to mention the high quality olive oil. The bar tender was a little arrogant, but other than that, everything else was great- the bar stools were even comfy! Good idea to open this location next to the pizzeria!

Yelp
What a cool place. Busy busy busy! Got there about 10 minutes after they opened and valeted the car. We sat at the last open table. Ordered the Rosa (rosemary pistachio), wiseguy (added salami) and sunny boy (added pepperoni). Wanted to try so many other things but ran out of room. The line outside got longer and longer so kinda hurried up so others could experience it too. Absolutely delicious. Will go back again next time we're in town.

Yelp
Only came here because we were waiting for our table at Pizzeria Bianco! The ambiance and decor was OK. One nice thing is you can bring your drinks over to Pizzeria Bianco when your table is ready. Otherwise, I don't think I would have gone out of my way to go here.

Yelp
Found ourselves at Bar Bianco last weekend while we were in the waitlist for Pizzeria Bianco! They seem to have a great arrangement with the establishment next door and you are technically required to be here while waiting after a certain point. It's an old house, so naturally full of character and a cozy space. The bar in one room with various rooms with different types of seating. They also have a basket of blankets if you want to sit in the grass out front. Perfect for cooler Arizona days. They also have a few shelves of games which is great, especially when waiting for extended times! The menu seems pretty simple. Primarily wine and beer, but they has a few whiskeys. We also got their house bread which was quite tasty! You order at the bar and sit down, so not full service, for at least that night. Only downfall is one bathroom for whole place and the line backs up fast, but that's to be expected when built out of a house. Enjoyable place to wait in the vicinity or the occasion, nothing particularly stand out to go out of your way for, but would return!

Yelp
A fun little add-on to the famous pizzeria next door, Bar Bianco offers a small selection of drinks in a rustic setting. It felt almost like having drinks in the 1800s, with creaky wood floors and an old-timey parlor feel throughout the interior. There's also some seating out front on the patio. Bar Bianco does offer some small plates to go with the limited drink menu, but as a standalone business, there's not a ton going on here. It's a nice way to kill an hour while waiting for a seat at Pizzeria Bianco, but it's not the main attraction and it shows.

Yelp
Chilling at the bar is a must when you're waiting for your table. Located in the next building over. Small appetizer menu and drinks. The staff is friendly and the inside decor is charming. They even have board games to play while you wait.
google avatar

Ben H.

Yelp
Some things are worth the wait, like the pizza at pizzeria Bianco. Bar Bianco is located adjacent to the OG location downtown. Wait times for Pizzeria Bianco, can be long, so waiting at Bar Bianco for a drink is a great choice. I'm not much of a drinker, but they do have wine, beer, and cocktails. What I love most about Bar Bianco is the ambiance. It appears to be an old historic converted house turned into car. Super cool and worth checking out if you're waiting for pizza.
google avatar

Quyen W.

Yelp
Such a cute place, but I really wish they'd expand this into more of a bar and less as a holding place for Bianco patrons (nothing against Bianco... I love the restaurant!). Nonetheless, Bar Bianco is a great place to hang out and enjoy a beer or wine. Ordering and finding a seat was unconventional, or at least with this one experience of ours. We got in a less than obvious line to the bar, got our drinks, then just found a place to sit. The very friendly staff checked on us a few times and offered to get us more drinks (so maybe we could have ordered from our seats?). I'm sure we'll be back, pizza next door or just to stop in.

Yelp
There are few things I love more than a perfect little barn with amazing cocktail creations. Bar Bianco EXCELS in this and if I lived nearby would be pickling myself here daily. After a work trip, the BF and I found ourselves looking for some fun things to do. Usually, our trips revolve around finding the best food and bars. This was no exception. But after so much of that, we looked at nearby museums. The Science Museum was nearby and that became our focus. After which we were hungry and went to Pizza Bianco (located next door to Bar Bianco) since the bar wasn't open until 4pm. After our dinner we meandered over to Bar Bianco. We were the only patrons on this lazy Monday afternoon, which was just fine by us. The layout was kept the same and is quite charming and unique. To your right is the actual bar, and to your left is an open foyer with several small tables to sit and relax. We opted for the bar top, which provided us with a little more social interaction with the bartenders. The menu is perfectly sized with just enough for any cocktail connoisseur. My two cocktails turned out to be MAGNIFICENT. The first was the Fig Leaf Daquiri made with Pineapple Rum, Housemade fig leaf liqueur, lime juice, and simple syrup. This drink was refreshingly delightful and delicately blended. The fig-leaf was green and fresh, unexpectantly uncloying blended with the pineapple rum. It was truly perfection on this warm Arizona day. Second, was the Bergamot Flip which was made in a Pisco Sour way (raw frothy egg). So avoid if you're weird about that. If not, you'll be delighted with the texture the egg white creates in this enchanting herbaceous beverage. I suppose what made our experience perfection was a culmination of five star items: quality of beverages, service, knowledge, and overall awesome venue. It was simply a wonderful way to end our Phoenix trip.

Yelp
Cool ambiance, nice bartender, and delicious drinks. My only complaint is the bathroom was very dirty; appeared as though it is not cleaned.

Yelp
Lovely place for a cocktail done right. Friendly bar staff and a patio that's perfect when the weather is nice. The bartender's fave off-menu negroni was just what I wanted and B's manhattan was tasty, too. Recommend!

Yelp
The atmosphere is amazing, customer is kinda rushed but good. The valet guy was terrible & rude. But he wants you to know make sure you tip. The pizza was not worth the amount paid, very hard & thin, not much on the pizza. I give 3 stars for the fine, that was the best part. If they had a happy hour session I would go for the wine.

Yelp
Bar Bianco is an urban legend from my early Yelp days of 2010. It was never respected much as its own establishment, but rather used as a waiting room of sorts because customers would literally wait three hours to be served at the esteemed pizzeria across the street. I have an axe to grind with everyone who didn't dote on the loveliness of this bar way back when. I should have come sooner. I should have come dozens of times by now. It was more than an afterthought. This is a great place for its ample, communal seating in several spaces. A bench in a dining room (which includes a couple tables for two, if you're feeling romantic), another large table in a room with a modest (but classy!) library, and glorious outdoor seating, under warm lights on an open patio. The green space surrounding this patio carries its own allure--such space is rare downtown. I sipped on old fashioned cocktails as well as suds from their small draft selection. We had a great time, and our laughs echoed throughout this small, renovated old house. You can come here for quality drinks, and next time, I'll try the food. Can't wait to roll through with my squad. =)

Yelp
Chris Bianco is the celebrity chef of Phoenix. My girlfriend who lives in Phoenix says he has restaurants throughout the area. He's known for his Italian and neopolitian pizzas. We had to check him out! We actually went two nights for a four day weekend. The first night a wine pairing dinner. The last night ended with a bunch of his infamous pies! I loved the pizza pies, especially the Rosa, the one with pistachios. The decor is very welcoming and the service is outstanding.

Yelp
Sneaky great food. The wife and I stopped by for a pre-dinner app, and it casually turned into our evening. We tried the frito misto, the cheese plate and the pâté. All were exceptional. The thing that caught my eye was that all of the dishes sounded heavy - but in reality were all delightfully light. Tremendous experience! One I can't wait to have again.

Yelp
What a hidden gem in one of the cutest neighbourhoods in downtown Phoenix! If you're in the mood to get to know your neighbours while sipping on a tasty cocktail, Bar Bianco is the place for you. We didn't get any food here, but rumour has it that you can get some food from the kitchen at Pizzeria Bianco next door. Being in Heritage Square, it would be a great spot for a date night after work, or if you want to get a drink after a concert or baseball game. Drinks: the drinks are very good. You can tell that they're crafted with care. I wasn't completely in the mood for anything I saw on the menu that night, but like any great bartender, Bar Bianco's mixologist was both willing and able to make sure I found a drink I liked. I found that a lot of their drinks were twists on classics. Mine had a generous splash of lemon and a touch of ginger. Ambiance: Bar Bianco is housed in a house with the bar portion on the right, off the entrance. There's the bar area, and numerous smaller tables throughout the building. We sat at the bar and were treated to some lovely conversation. I have a feeling that one of the guys we met is a regular. Above the bar there were a number of different glasses in all sorts of different shapes. Not being entirely familiar with cocktails, I asked the bartender to explain the differences to me, and he was more than willing to do so. Price: The prices weren't too far off what the average cocktail is in downtown Phoenix. You'll see cocktails around the $12-$15 dollar mark. Overall, my husband and I had a great date night, and we're definitely bookmarking for the next relaxed evening on the town.
google avatar

Brittney S.

Yelp
My husband and I were I search of a wine and cheese date night! We decided Bar Bianco since we have never been here. The location is in central Phoenix in an old house which is awesome! The ambience is dim light, hipster, and romantic. The wine selection isn't very broad but there is a little bit of everything. Bar Bianco is local so has AZ wines and local food. We ordered an antipasto dish and the goat cheese crostini. Both delicious! The antipasto had delicious grilled veggies, cheese, and salami. Great flavor! Our server was very friendly and knowledgeable. She checked on us multiple times. We will be back in the future!

Yelp
Great place to hang while you wait for table to open up at Pizza Bianco unsure how it but im hoping the wait is worth it

Yelp
They've cut back their offerings and what little remains is mediocre and overpriced. They know their customers have no other choice and it shows.

Yelp
This review is specifically for the mocktails! When I became pregnant, I didn't realize how much I would miss going out for a drink. And Shirley Temples just don't cut it! I was so lucky to find Bar Bianco and their extensive, delicious mocktail menu! Sipping on a few of these and munching on a cheese plate with my hubs was the perfect date night. And the bartender was so helpful in finding just the right drink for me! My hubs also enjoyed his drinks, but I'm sure you can read all about those in other reviews. We'll be back!

Yelp
One of my favorite bars in Phoenix! I love the walnut manhattan, I have never had anything so delicious in my life! Truly the perfect cocktail! A very sweet husband and wife duo run the bar here, they are always happy to make recommendations while creating delicious cocktails. Everything Bianco does is perfection and this bar is no exception!
google avatar

Yelp
I couldn't possibly think about standing around outside waiting for a table at Pizzeria Bianco. So why not make the best of it and come next door to Bar Bianco. A great wine list and an awesome selection of craft beers all reasonably priced! But the big allure for me is the old house that Bar Bianco is housed. Its just an amazing old house that has been lovingly cared for. All the details are still there and you can tell this place had a lot of love in it. The second you walk through the door the place has a just walked into grandma's house, make yourself at home kind of feel. You cant go wrong here..
google avatar

Yelp
Most "normal" people keep photos of their kids on their person and show them off every chance they get. I however keep photos of pizza from Pizzeria Bianco saved in my phone and am happy to show them like a proud daddy. Everyone already knows that next door at Pizzeria Bianco, Paul is baking the absolutely best thin crush pizza in the country. The problem is takes three hours of anxious and painful waiting to get inside and sink your teeth into one of those delicious pies. So what to do while waiting for the experience of a pizza lifetime? Grab a seat on the porch in front of Bar Bianco and tell stories and drink up. On a early spring day I can think of nothing better sitting outside drinking a cold pilsner with the faint smell of pizza making it was over to your nose. Come here in the summer and you will die from the intense heat. Minus 1 star for potential death from heatstroke
google avatar

Stephanie H.

Yelp
Yep, like many other Yelpers, I have also come here while waiting for pizza. I actually like the whole looooooong experience of waiting for pizza and drinking some wine before hand. My fiance and I usually go through a bottle of wine and maybe more depending on how long we have to wait. Bar Bianco is a super cute and quaint place hangout. We have had excellent service here by the bartenders and they are very knowledgeable on the wines they sell. We tried the cheese plate once and it was delicious. Other than that, we stick to wine. This place is great for a date or a small gathering.
google avatar

Kristin W.

Yelp
We stopped here before going to an event that was happening at the Science Center. What a great little spot. It was almost 6pm when we came in and we had no problem grabbing a table. The drink menu looks great - this time around I just grabbed a beer that the bartender recommended. I really wish I could remember what it was - I believe it was local and he said it was lucky they had it on tap because it was pretty rare. Either way, his recommendation was spot on. We don't find ourselves in this neighborhood often, just for Dbacks games or for random events but I would definitely go out of my way to come here again.
google avatar

Taylor R.

Yelp
Popped for a quick drink with fellow Yelper Bao H. after the Grand Wine Festival. I love little tiny places like this and we were lucky enough to get a seat at the bar. The set up of the bar is intimate and cozy. It looks like they have enough different brands of whiskey and bourbon to make anyone happy. The drink menu was eclectic and different from what you normally see and I chose the Sloe Gin Rizz {Plymouth Sloe Gin | Lemon juice | simple syrup | soda water | egg white} and it was so awesome! The egg whites created an out of this world smoothness. Had I not imbibed notably at the festival I would have liked to try one of their other inviting cocktails.

John R.

Yelp
As someone else said, "If you're going to be waiting for pizza... spend your time here. Have a great conversation, enjoy local brews, you won't regret it." The appetizers are great and I had the most fun in a long time challenging someone else at the table to a game of checkers with a board they had there and bottle caps for pieces. It took us a little bit to remember the setup and rules but we soon got into the swing and unfortunately (if it one could really say that with any meaning) before our game was over someone came over and said our table was ready next door. Bottom line, an easy way to pass the time!

Janelle E.

Yelp
Stopped in just for dessert. Their flourless chocolate cake sounds simple and typical, but my word. It is the most elegant and beautifully crafted flavor experience I ever had so far in my life. Just go try it. Thank me later. The staff was personable and knowledgable. I can't rave about this place enough.

Yelp
Lately, I've been very fortunate to visit little gems that Yelpers love! This my friend's, is one of the gems. Bar Bianco is quaint, cool, hip, suave, and authentic. We had just left a charity event at Alice Cooperstown, it was Friday night, there was a Sun's game ending and we decided on Bianco to have 1 last drink. Chuck was tending the small bar and accommodated our group of 6 perfectly. Ordered a couple of cheese plates, a drink and proceeded to converse with our bar mates. From what I've read on other reviews, people wait 3 hours for a table next door at Pizzeria Bianco, while sipping libations here. Seriously? Wait 3 hours for Pizza? Yep. Thankfully, the dinner crowd had dispersed and Bar Bianco was not packed and service was excellent. I will definitely be back soon.

Yelp
Easily the best part of waiting around for a disappointing (IMHO) pizza at Pizzeria Bianco. My sister and I parked at 4:15 to get in line for pizza, then we noted the bar and decided to stop in there. We hung out for a beer and a chat with the bartender at the little bar off to the right of the entrance and found it started getting a little crowded-- it's better to grab something and sit down. But... do not do this. Not yet. We learned from the bartender that the line for pizza was really a line to get on the list. We jumped back outside to get in line again at 4:35 and found quite a few more people there. Tons. Once we had our name on the list at 5pm, we headed back to the bar and got some drinks and just hung out. I'm guessing that most of the crowd opts to hang outside or wander around downtown Phoenix, because it was surprisingly pleasant and the atmosphere was quite nice. The upside of waiting nearby is, they will come over and call you by name from the waiting list. This worked out nicely, though I was amazed to find that about an hour had passed by the time they did finally grab us for the pizza phase of the evening. I attached a couple of photos I snapped while I was there. I should have snapped one of the bar, and maybe another wider shot, but I didn't really go to snap pictures afterall.

Yelp
Really good service. James at the bar made some really good recommendations. The place is right next to Pizzeria Bianco. So while you wait for a table there, come here for a drink and kick it. They also have a great wine menu, if you're into that. I guess on Fridays they have a live band playing inside.
google avatar

Christa L.

Yelp
Unlike most of the other reviews, we were not waiting on a table for the pizzeria next door. We just stopped in to enjoy a glass of wine and we definitely did enjoy it. This historical little house in Heritage Square has so much character and is a great spot to enjoy a glass of wine (or beer if that's what you prefer), especially if you can grab a seat on the front porch. The bar area is pretty small and I'm sure can get cramped but luckily was not too busy on our visit. The bartender was friendly and made us feel like we were just visiting a friend at his home. They also have a menu so you can order a small bite to go along with your beverage if you wish. We really enjoyed this intimate spot and will definitely return when hanging out in DT Phoenix.

Yelp
I love this place! Talk about the service, the amazing food and the cozy ambiance! There is nothing about this place that is not fabulous. Order anything you want and you will love it!
google avatar

Jennifer J.

Yelp
Teeny tiny bar with a decent selection of wine and beer, and some really unique soda for the non-drinkers. The kumquat flavored soda was quite interesting~ not overly sweet. They also carry bubble up! The place looks like a cozy little house from another era. The drinks and the service with a smile will ease your hunger pangs and soothe your eager impatience. Really friendly service that will actually make you forget for a while that you are waiting to be seated next door. Our group was actually surprised when we were called. Cheers!

Yelp
Ok, so I don't know how adequately I can review this place, as I only went in to the bar to get some drinks and then sat outside while waiting to go get some pizza, BUT I will try. I went in to the bar last night and ordered a beer and a glass of riesling from Germany. The bottle of riesling was almost empty, so the bar tender just poured the rest in my glass, resulting in a very full glass of wine and a very happy me. The wine was very very good, however I forgot to note what type of wine it was! How dumb of me. So this place was really good, it was convenient, generous, and looked cute inside. The bar tender was nice enough, and I like sitting outside, especially when it's a little cool out. I didn't try the food, but I'd like to one of these days... I wish they put their menu or wine list on the website. Overall, I'd recommend this bar even if you weren't waiting in line at Bianco. PS: if anyone knows what the name of their german riesling is, I would probably love you forever.

Stefano Z.

Yelp
Expertly crafted drinks with very interesting flavors. Prices are definitely in line with the quality. A limited menu of snacks.
google avatar

Ken G.

Yelp
Cherry sour draft beer is not really good specially if you have an empty stomach. Bartender guy with beard is not friendly, or does he has a rude thing with colored people because when I asked whats a whistle pig because i am not a liquor drinker he kinda said something and turned his back away but when a white couple sat next to me tonight at the bar he gladly entertained their question about a canned beer. Rude rude rude. Well you know what karma comes around.
google avatar

dave w.

Yelp
Well whaddaya know, pizzeria bianco expanded the already charming bar next door into a full service cocktail experience... Amazingly crafted cocktails, beer and wine... even if you're not going to the pizzeria, this is an amazing spot in downtown phoenix...
google avatar

Joe C.

Yelp
Small space but great drinks. The bartender had great recommendations and helped me carry my drinks next door to their pizza place since I was ordering for my group.
google avatar

Justin H.

Yelp
Cozy bar within steps of the best pizza in Arizona. Lots of the drinks on the cocktail menu were currently unavailable which was disappointing. The drinks we did have (Sonoran Cooler and Arizona Spring) we're fantastic!
google avatar

Avi E.

Yelp
I love the rustic charm of this house turned restaurant/bar. I've only been in the house on the right, with the bar. I think there's two? I didn't really get a chance to look, I just kept hearing the bartender mention something about people waiting next door, or maybe outside? I don't know, but my first impression was that it was definitely a hidden gem! It's dark and romantic and mysterious and charming... haha! I will definitely return at some point since I only popped in to wait on someone. I would love to try their food and see what all I missed. While I was at the bar I had the Goat Cheese Crostini plate, which came with a side of olives, and I do have to say were SOOOO salty, my gosh! I couldn't eat them... and they had pits! Which would have been nice to know. I feel that most people would assume they don't and would just bite into them, ouch! That might not usually be a problem, but I have braces. Lol. Anyways... I'm a fan! Two thumbs up!

Yelp
Stopped by here after a light show at the science museum. This place felt a lot like Rainy street in Austin, TX. I absolutely loved the location, the atmosphere and design. The server was extremely nice. We got drinks and then ordered the chocolate cake. Oh my goodness the cake was delicious. I would recommend this place to anyone that wants a great place to grab drinks.

Yelp
This tiny little bar in Heritage Square is adjacent to Pizzeria Bianco and is the perfect compliment to the sometimes insurmountable wait at the pizza joint. A date and I were there for about an hour and half while waiting for our table next door. Everyone describes it as tiny and they are right. The bar itself is immediately to the right in a very small room. So after ordering a drink for each of us we ventured into the rest of the "house". It opened up a bit more and we found a seat along some of the windows on a padded bench. After finishing our first round a waitress came over fairly quickly and asked if we needed anything else. More drinks and a plate of prosciutto and another round were ordered. By this time we were able to move to a large wooden table that had become vacant. The food came out and it was perfect. Buttery crostini and paper thin prosciutto. Perfect amount of food to wet your appetite. The atmosphere inside the bar was very laid back and soothing. The prices weren't too bad either. 4 drinks and an app came to $20. Not too bad I thought. This would be a great place to go hang out on any night and not have to worry about a table next door. Our Bar Bianco experience ended when they came and got us for our table. Those nice little touches of not having to run over to make sure you didn't get skipped are great. It allows to just enjoy your wait. Go hit this place up. Again, it is another impressive place.

Yelp
Easily the best bar in Phoenix. Amazing cocktails, chill vibe, authentic atmosphere. A welcome departure from the corporate bars downtown. Bar Bianco has soul.

Yelp
Well let me tell up front: We never got to eat. We changed our table from a Two top to a three at 5:20pm on a Tuesday Night in the dead of summer and that put us into the 3+ hour-wait stratosphere of seating, so we left after two hours. This is NOT sour Grapes because of that. I said I was going to review the Bar and I am: The Bar was terrible. I despise a bartender who is so --whats the word?--spoiled, that she only has to serve whoever is standing in front of her, because business is so good. Any bartender wither their salt monitors the bar's comings and goings, keeps tabs on some rough order of service, and is rewarded with generous tips by seasoned diners who appreciate having their "turn" honored. They didn't have one of those bartenders. The red wine Special they offered at $9.00 a glass had begun to turn, so that could be a reason they were pouring it off on the yokels, they had two tap beers--both bitter--and we had a $52 bar tab, which I know is nothing, but that's also what we got. Let me tell you something All Yelpsters and Bar Owners of the World: The Bartender is the Ambassador to your business. That's all you need to know for training and service. AMBASSADOR to your business. Wake up, earn money. A good bartender could have cajoled us to stay.

Yelp
I am a total sucker for quaint bungalow style homes. (I used to own one, a Sears Bungalow, 1920.) So this adorable bar/lounge had me as soon as I walked onto the wraparound porch and into the front door. I could smell the character. This is a wonderful venue for a date, or, in my case, for a small group of friends to gather. It has ambiance and then some! You know that friend of yours who has the great cocktail parties? That is what it feels like here when the bartender asks for your order. No positioning to get to him, no yelling your order to him. He's right there...all for you. Wow. I am getting nostalgic here, so let me close with these couple of important details: 1) The wine selection was small but the wines were good, and 2) the cheese/cracker/olive food pairings were quite good. I left feeling that I had just had a wonderful experience. Interestingly, there is a bar/lounge in Raleigh, North Carolina that I still remember fondly, years later, because it gave me that same feeling. I cannot wait for the opportunity to return.

Yelp
FABULOUS. Great and friendly staff, amazing atmosphere, and great drinks and desserts. Our bartender was Justin, and he was one of the best waiters/bartenders I have ever had. We went one night got a dessert, and he brought us a drink to pair it with. It was a perfect match and the rice pudding was so fabulous, we came back THE NEXT NIGHT. Upon ordering the same thing, and asking some questions, he came out and introduced himself, told us about the special wine we'd been drinking, and gave us a lot more recommendations and was very knowledgable. All in all a great experience BOTH nights.

Yelp
I love everything Bianco. I just went to PHX last week and ended up at Pizzeria Bianco twice - you may think of me as a bit crazy, but I tell you that in all my travels (Italy 3 times and living in NY), there is no better pizza. I enjoy the wait because of this place.. spending 2 hours drinking Peroni's, a bottle of the Green & Red and a plate of cheese is a great way to spend an evening, if you ask me. This place is also about as good as you can get for a date - just not a first one. Fair prices and a great atmosphere.. get there early if you want a seat inside and feel free to read the notes that people have written to each other on napkins inside the small table in the corner of the front room.
