Decent food, friendly and attentive service. Small place with low ceilings and concrete walls, so acoustically it makes for a loud space. All the dishes were good, but each missed something. They were also on the small side. Everything except the desert was 4*, except the desert crepe, which was 2*. We ordered the mushroom and artichokes as sides. Mushrooms were amazing, but there was only one. Artichokes were good, sauce flavor could've used something. My main of boar bourguignon was good, and came with potato and carrots. Sauce was a bit acidic. Partner got the scallops but there was nothing else, and so she got hungry later. Scallops also had a tiny strange flavor. The dessert crepe was quite bad. The caramel sauce tasted like it was from a bottle. The apples were put in cold, making the whole crepe cold and spongy. Combined with the constant cold draft, this place is a 4, possibly 3.5.

It's a good place if you wanna treat yourself to good ambience and delicious food. The service is really quick and friendly.. The menu has limited starters and entrees . The choice is limited but the food is very delicious.. I had the beggars purse and the trout rilletes. I was blown away by the subtle flavours . It did also go well with the merlot. Price is a bit steep for the main courses.. overall had a wonderful experience.

I had the wild boar bourguignon HIGHLY RECOMMENDED! Fork tender! The wait staff was super friendly and very knowledgeable about what they would recommend. For sure will be going back! A small restaurant, big on taste!

We went to this place for the first time this past weekend. We had walked by a hundred times, but never realized there was a cool French restaurant inside. I got the NY strip with potatoes, and pickled onions/peppers. The steak was cooked perfectly when ordered at medium rare. The sauce was very flavorful, and complemented the meat nicely. Even the garnishments were memorable. So I enjoyed this very well. Although I found it peculiar that a French restaurant would serve the NY strip, and not the filet de bœuf. Maybe this changes from time to time? I would have enjoyed that cut more. She got the smoked lamb shank. She enjoyed it as well, although we both agreed it was more bland than my meal. I think it is still worth getting, just wish there had been a tad more flavor. I had two beers, and she had a white wine. We also had coffee at the end. The atmosphere was great. We are very picky when it comes to seating at restaurants, so take what I say about the main dining area with a grain of salt, but I would not have enjoyed sitting there. It was too cramped, and if we are going to be paying $100+ for a dining experience, I would expect better seating there. But we sat at the bar, and that was great. It was a very comfortable arrangement. It is not practical to expect to be able to sit at the bar every time you go, but if you can, I say go for it. And you know you live in the hipster part of town when one of the only beers they serve at the french restaurant is a PBR. So if that is important to you, this is your place.

Stumbled in to this hidden gem while waiting to pick my partner up at St. Cate's. Lovely cocktail menu, the food smelled insanely good! We only stayed for a few drinks but it's on our list of great spots, especially on a cold day.

Had a great night at Bar Brigade, cocktails & dinner with a few friends! Have been wanting to check this place out for sometime now. We thoroughly enjoyed our cocktails, food, and the service! Sally, our server, was so friendly and amazing! Already planning my next visit to this quaint & lovely neighborhood spot!

Bar Brigade hosted our Wine Brigade tasting and it was awesome! They worked with me beforehand to write up a menu and really made our clubs meeting memorable. Thank you!

Small place, great food, vibrant atmosphere! I took my mom to this restaurant for her birthday. My sweet mother in law also joined us for the celebration. We started with a simple cheese board as a shared appetizer. It was delicious but a bit small. However, we knew from reading about the main courses that those would be the real prize. Our server was excellent and confirmed we had made excellent choices: the pork schnitzel for me, the lobster risotto for momma and the grilled trout for my mother in law. Wow! We all shared our dishes and they were all EXCELLENT! The restaurant was crowded on a Thursday night. Outside, you had to work hard to spot the small chalkboard pointing out the restaurant's name. It's a fair assumption that most of the patrons weren't there because the restaurant happened to be on their way home from work, but because they had heard how good it was. I will definitely be back ... and I'll bring friends!
