"When you want to get to know somebody, pizza and a spritz is an ideal meal. And there's really no better place to do that than Bar Del Corso. This Beacon Hill classic always has a constant buzz of people to prevent any awkward silences, the charred Neapolitan pies are worth having charcoal-dusted fingers the entire night, and despite the restaurant's fancy vibes, dinner can be a relatively quick operation, just in case you learned something non-negotiable about this person during the first margherita slice." - aimee rizzo
"During peak times, your chances of getting into Bar Del Corso are practically quadrupled if you show up alone. Once you have a spot at the bar, the only thing you need to worry about is which type of charred Neapolitan pizza you want (trick question: get the margherita with buffalo mozzarella). "Bar Del Corso doesn’t take reservations, and you’ll need to get there early in order to secure a table quickly. But despite that inconvenience, Bar Del Corso is the perfect parent-friendly spot for excellent Neapolitan pizza in a special occasion kind of setting. There are plenty of small plates like burrata and arancini (our favorite appetizer here), you get to cut the pizza with a personal pair of shears (just in case that’s something you’ve always wanted to do), and Perihelion Brewery nearby is an excellent place for a beer before or after." - aimee rizzo
"A huge kudos to whoever invented fire during the stone age. Because without it, we wouldn’t have the blazing flame inside Bar Del Corso’s domed pizza oven creating tasty leopard spots on their crispy crust, melting globs of buffalo mozzarella, and sizzling craggy bits of homemade fennel sausage. The pies alone would solidify this Beacon Hill staple as one of the most iconic Seattle happy places—up there with UW during cherry blossom season and Reuben’s when there’s no line for the bathroom. But the small plates here seal the deal.
