Unique cocktails & small plates in a hip, garden-inspired setting

"Conceived originally as a holding area for Paradiso diners, Bar Eden far exceeds that role by offering a cozy-but-not-entirely-casual spot in Bishop Arts where lush greenery, gilded touches, and high-backed booths create a delightfully intimate setting for two; its limited cocktail menu helps evoke a garden of paradise and makes it a special place to linger." - Courtney E. "To celebrate Old Fashioned Week, Bar Eden will make a special version of “It Never Ends,” a popcorn-infused Old Fashioned made with Elijah Craig Small Batch Bourbon. The whiskey is fat-washed with brown butter, maize, salted popcorn, and nutritional yeast that’s frozen and then strained the next day for a complex blend of flavors. That mixture then becomes the foundation for the cocktail, mixed with Demerara sugar and a blend of Angostura and barrel-aged bitters. The drink is served over a large ice cube with a side of popcorn for a little snack. And when it’s not Old Fashioned Week, you can always order a classic Elijah Craig Old Fashioned with a healthy dose of Angostura bitters alongside Bar Eden’s beef tartare." - Vox Creative

"Housed next to Paradiso in Bishop Arts, Bar Eden is conceived as a place to sip a cocktail while you wait for your table or to waste a night away in a garden-of-Eden setting." - Courtney E. Smith

"Opening in Bishop Arts as a sister location to Paradiso on Saturday, August 6, Bar Eden takes over the space that previously hosted Botanical and draws décor and drink inspiration from the garden of Eden with astrological and star-gazer influences; the interior will be filled with lush, overgrown plants and art deco touches. A glass wall will allow guests in Bar Eden to watch diners in Paradiso's new private dining room; cocktails are designed by Exxir Group beverage director Iluggy Recinos and bar bites are by executive chef Nick Hurry, though much of the menu is still under wraps." - Courtney E. "Located at 308 North Bishop Avenue, Botanist is a very adult-looking cocktail bar opening today in a new Bishop Arts development owned by the Nazerian family. Think swanky leather settees, velvet-clad chairs, Oriental rugs, and crystal chandeliers — “It looks like someone’s very rich English grandmother left them all of her furniture,” a representative accurately describes — but the upscale vibe won’t deter weekend revelers: there are plenty of board games and shuffleboard alongside expertly crafted, herbaceous cocktails such as the “Bob Ross” (jalapeño-infused beet tequila, lime juice, agave, dry Curaçao), the Chrysanthemum (Fernet-Branca, Bénédictine herbal liqueur, turbinado sugar, absinthe spritz, chrysanthemum garnish), and The Mitchell (Cynar, Del Maguey Vida Mezcal, lemon juice). Small bites include oysters, shrimp cocktail, tostones topped with caviar, fried baby artichoke, and plates of cheese and charcuterie; Botanist officially opens August 2 and will operate from 5 p.m. to 2 a.m. with the kitchen serving until close as several more concepts in the development prepare to open in the coming weeks." - Alaena Hostetter
