Barcelona Vermouth Bar Guide: When and Where to Drink | Eater

"A seaside, old-school vermouth bar founded in 1908 that remains a local favorite for vermouth and wine by the liter; its menu pairs both hot and cold tapas with the house pour, and staff follow a traditional practice of leaving an unlabeled bottle on the table and measuring what’s gone when tallying the bill." - Sam Zucker

First off, I really enjoyed sitting at this place. It has a very fun, pleasant, and local neighborhood vibe. It’s definitely a spot for the locals. The food here is really delicious, and the VERMUT drink is also something I highly recommend trying. Overall, I had a great time and will definitely recommend this place!

Loved this bar when we were visiting Barcelona! Came there twice! Amazing food. Their Vermouth is the best we ever had!

Busy old school Catalan tapas bar and restaurant. Limited menu big on taste and authenticity. Reasonably priced. Worth a visit.

It was in my to do list for 4 years ! I visit barcelone once a year for business so no time in the day. I hesitate to enter as you feel you enter in a community (sunday morning at 10:30) The feeling of local life is amazing. I was alone but for sure it is better with friends. If you look for a local place to have nice time simple food and drink it is perfect ! I didn’t regret and hope to go back with friends.

This is a really authentic local restaurant and totally up our alley. Housemade vermouth was delicious. We thoroughly enjoyed the crav salad which is more like a crab/egg paste which you have with bread. The octopus is nice and soft and fresh as!

We stopped by after hitting the beach earlier. Feeling chilly, the house made vermut was the perfect fit to warm us up. The vermut is great (2 euros per full cup and 15 euros for a full bottle which you can take home if not finished), the tapas are no frills, and the ambience is fun & lively. Great to go after a swim. Out of the tapas we tried, tuna in boiled egg was memorable.

Yelp
I would give them a -0. went when they weren't even closed. Respected their time frame, but they refused to seat us. extremely disrespectful towards us. would not recommend at ALL!! do yourself a favor

Yelp
The home made vermouth was great. Ask to for a 1.5 L take away of vermouth. They will give you a plastic water container to take home for 7.50 euro's. The food was very good as well.

Yelp
This was my first destination when I arrived in Barcelona. It's nice hanging out with a local. They know their neighborhood, they know the good spots like this one. Vermouth made there presented in a clear unmarked bottle, barrels of cheap wine, the perfect liquids to whet your appetite. We had vermouth, anchovies, and a Catalonian omelette with tomato smeared bread. Surprising myself, I actually enjoyed the anchovies. For me, they almost had the consistency of grated Parmesan. Strange, I know. It's a great little place on that corner. It was also fascinating watching one of the main guys there demonstrate how to pluck sea snails from their shell.

Yelp
LOVE this place! I make a point to stop here each time im in town. simple, delicious, and unassuming. The charming staff are welcoming and happy to make recommendations for the language impaired (it's a real locals joint, so you won't find an english menu). If you're lucky, the owner will give you a lesson in wine drinking. Wish L'Electricitat was in my neighborhood!
