This was my first destination when I arrived in Barcelona. It's nice hanging out with a local. They know their neighborhood, they know the good spots like this one.
Vermouth made there presented in a clear unmarked bottle, barrels of cheap wine, the perfect liquids to whet your appetite. We had vermouth, anchovies, and a Catalonian omelette with tomato smeared bread. Surprising myself, I actually enjoyed the anchovies. For me, they almost had the consistency of grated Parmesan. Strange, I know.
It's a great little place on that corner. It was also fascinating watching one of the main guys there demonstrate how to pluck sea snails from their shell.
