Maybe it was a mistake coming here for brunch instead of lunch or dinner, but it just wasn't good. The only thing I really liked was the decor. They created a lovely, airy space filled with lots of light, plants, and decorated in green, pink, and gold. Our group of 4 plus a toddler were the only people there besides two people at the bar, so it was very quiet and relaxing, and we did not feel rushed, which was nice. The server came by frequently and was helpful. We started with drinks. My mimosa tasted and looked like straight fruit juice, and thankfully they were willing to remake it when I pointed this out. I asked if i could order a side of fruit for my toddler since I noticed they had a fruit parfait on the menu, but they said that wasn't possible. Instead, I ordered a single pancake for him, which was served plain without butter but with two servings of syrup on the side and ended up costing $7. My omelette was more of a scramble, and was over-cooked hard, but folded around unmelted shredded Swiss cheese, and served room temperature. The salad on the side was a huge portion of mixed greens in oil, lemon, and an overwhelming amount of salt. My husband got the patty melt, served as two sliders on large slices of pumpernickel that were too big for the tiny onion topped patty, with the same salty mixed greens salad. The most disappointing item we ordered was the crab cake, which was unlike any crab cake I have ever seen. This flattened/formed patty was covered in breadcrumbs, fried to a dark brown crisp, and looked and tasted more like a minced fish or shrimp cake with lots of filler. One thing that was very nice but also kind of odd is that right when our food first came out, they brought us complimentary side dishes (lamb sausage, home fries, and multigrain bread), as a thank you to my mother in law, who had been there earlier the same week. The server said it was a thank you to her for coming back. According to everyone at the table who tried these: the lamb sausage was so bad that it was not edible, the home fries were very bland/unseasoned aside from salt and oil, and the toasted bread was good. Overall, I might go back for coffee or a drink, but not for a meal.
