The 20 Best Restaurants In Germantown & Mount Airy - Philadelphia - The Infatuation

"Bar Lizette is a place where most people in Mount Airy love to end their nights. The low-lit bar is French and German-inspired, so it has that warm bistro feel with old pictures of the countryside and mustachioed dukes on the wall. On the menu, you’ll find cheese boards, tartare flambée with bacon and creme fraiche, and moules frites in a wine butter sauce. Pair them with anything on their long wine list or cocktails mixed with beet syrup, lavender bitters, or brûléed banana." - candis mclean

Cozy, sweet spot in Mt. Airy, celebrating being in Mt. Airy. Brandon, our server provided friendly, excellent service. Tasty food and drinks, and excellent service will keep us coming back.

I cannot say enough how much I love this place. Their cocktails are divine and the bartender truly listens when you describe your drink preferences. The service is pretty solid. But the icing on the cake is the food! Try the steak if it’s still on the menu. Try the charcuterie board, anything with mushrooms, the duck… the list goes on. Shout out to chef Abraham for creativity and execution. 10/10 🙌🏽

The restaurant offered an intimate ambiance with subdued lighting, creating a romantic and cozy atmosphere. We went during the day and sat near the open bay door windows, which also made for a wonderful experience. Whether you’re meeting with friends or going on a date, this is a great environment for either. The cocktails are top-notch: we had the vesper. We will certainly be going back again. The duck breast and the mushroom cassoulet were delicious.

Cozy, quirky spot in a great location. Enjoyed our meal and cocktails tonight. It’s a great addition to the neighborhood. Very cool decor. Restaurant itself is quite loud. Service was pretty slow despite being well staffed.

Fantastic experience! The ambiance was cozy and comfortable. We stopped in for a few drinks and apps and was blown away! They were able to make some cocktails into mocktails for me and they were absolutely amazing! Seared scallops were done perfectly and the seafood bisque was creamy with chunks of seafood and filled with flavor. Prices are very affordable. Cannot wait to return!

A terrific little restaurant with a lovely menu. I've tried many of their dishes and they are all very good. Fresh ingredients, balanced flavors (nothing is too salty), and attentive service. Liz is a very skilled bartender. Highly recommend!

I've been to this establishment (as different companies and organizations have been through this location) for the past 5-6 years, and this is the first time I've come here where I felt truly taken care of from beginning to end. Being someone who has A TON of questions about the drinks and food (cus I know what I like 😉) the staff is knowledgeable, and if they're not certain of something, they find out for you! They're super happy to make your experience the best one! Now Abraham Cheatham (the new renound head chef at Bar Lizette) has REALLY out done himself. The mixtures of flavors and knowledge behind his artistic creation put onto a silver platter is SPECTACULAR. I have a dairy allergy, so he was easily able to remove or help me out with suggestions. My partner has a gluten allergy and that was also an easy mod for Chef Abraham. It's very clear, that Chef has a love and passion for the food arts and it's presentation to every table. There were tables around us wanting to especially thank the chef for how lovely their unique experience was as well. I HIGHLY recommend this experience for anyone who passes by, whether that's a family outing or a cozy date night, you're bound to have the experience of a lifetime from start to finish.

Google
such a cute little restaurant, cozy ambiance, easy to find street parking. we were the first people in for an early dinner and were served by the bartender who was super nice and helpful. the chicken schnitzel sandwich was very good as was the steak, and the affogato and creme brulee were amazing (because can you really go wrong with either)! the only think i would skip on is the chips and onion dip which we got as an appetizer, it was a little bland for me but still okay once salted. would love to come back!

Yelp
My friend who lives in Germantown asked me to meet her here at this bistro, for happy hour. I'm so glad this happened! This is a beautiful place! Dark wood, beautiful red wallpaper and tapestry with glowy lighting! The happy hour is great! Very reasonably priced cocktails with sweet small bites on the menu. If you are a fries person, I definitely recommend the Parmesan fries! So good. Delicious salads, large plates and small plates with French and German inspired fare. In addition, the sweetest service I have had in a long time. This is probably a destination place. It's that good!

Yelp
Drinks were really really good and the food was amazing. Our server was a little bit weird and stiff and definitely overburdened but we had a really nice night. It's a beautiful place with good food and good drink drinks

Yelp
I stopped for a glass of wine after a long day, the place looked in inviting very elegant so I figured it was a safe space and ordered a glass of Pinot Grigio The white male server just took my money off The bar never said a price or gave me a check or anything. Just charge me to 17.50 then put the 2.50 on the bar and walk away no thank you or anything. It was not busy. That was the first thing I picked up on. I was talking to a very nice white couple sitting next to me. And I brought up the fact that he had never asked me if I needed another drink because I wanted someone to witness this behavior and he did just that again. Of course they felt bad. and wanted to say something, but I said no don't make a big deal out of it That showed me that I wasn't wanted there in his eyes I don't know if it was because I was the only black person there or what the deal was but what the server did not know that I too was a server and not only had a served a number of Pennsylvania governors in my pass but President Bush Senior, and now the young man was pre-judging me maybe he thought I couldn't afford another drink whatever the case was I don't know but when I call back to complain to the manager he answered the phone and asked me why I was calling and what was it about that also was unacceptable. I said that was between the manager and I thank you for your concern. I was having an excellent time with the couple beside me. I would've had another glass of wine, but because of this server racist behavior, I will never ever go back there. The neighborhood has always been a very diverse neighborhood and this kind of behavior has never been tolerated. I've lived in this neighborhood since the 60s.
