Bar Louie - Oakbrook Terrace

We had a group of 12 for a couples outing. I gave 4 stars for one...they did not have the advertised drink Purple Reign which a few of us wanted to try. Also, they automatically added a 20% gratuity to the bill per couple. Some of us were getting warm after the drinks and the fan above our tables did not work. The food was good and the drink I ended up with was the Diva and it was delicious. Staff was amazing, we did not wait long for drinks nor the food to come out.Prices were kind of high but not outrageous. Overall, we enjoyed our time there.

Good atmosphere and the service was great. They have a large variety of drinks and aside from the premixed variety, the bartenders do great with mixing drinks. The food is pretty good in general. I tried a burger which was larger than expected and tasted good. The fries were good too. On a different visit, I had a steak with a salad and asparagus as sides. The waitress let me substitute the standard sides for what I wanted which was nice. The salad and asparagus were perfect. The steak was cooked at the temperature that I asked for, but was luke warm by the time it was brought to the table. It lacked seasoning but after fixing it with salt and pepper, it was decent - even pretty good. I stayed at the attached hotel for about 5 days and visited this restaurant at least once per day and service was great each time.

For a party of one I didn’t realize you placed auto gratuity of 18%. You can’t assume that we as patrons want to give 18% of gratuity we don’t just tip because we HAVE to tip. We tip because of service, quality of food, atmosphere, etc. So to place at 18% gratuity for a party of one is insane. The food was salty. I ordered the lemon pepper rub, chicken tenders and truffle fries. The seasonings on both were very salty. I couldn’t even finish the meal and enjoy it. I did have a glass of Moscato. You can’t really mess that up. I was not aware from the bartender or on the menu the 18% is auto gratuity on every check no matter the party size. I would understand if my party was at least six people or more, but it was just me. I am a wonderful tipper, However, due to that automatic gratuity of 18% alone, I don’t believe I will be returning, which is unfortunate because I just signed up for the rewards and I patron this specific establishment and location frequently.

Had not been in a long time. Menu changed/upgraded. New menu items, bar specials. Lot of drinks specials. Great after work stop. Happy hour 4p-7p specials.

I had the lemon drop too acidic for my liking. The food was awesome though and staff was friendly. Check them out!!

Definitely a laid back and inviting atmosphere. Always been very welcoming to the bike community. Awesome drinks, good quality food, decently priced too! Don’t be afraid to come by and check them out!

Ive been going here for years and have always had a good experience .. the issue this time when the bill came a mandatory automatic gratuity was added .. i go to a lot of restaurants but it is always a automatic turn off when this occurs and it causes hesitation for me to visit again. This saddens me because there are not many Bar Louie's left and ive been coming to this one since its been in this Location and now I have to contemplate going here .. thats not good ..its a friendly place with good food so why add a deterrent like this? ... OQ

Very good food and great service!!! Highly recommended! The food prices are great and not too expensive!!!

They hosted our meetup group of at least 45 people in the bar area during Happy Hour. Offered separate checks, and service was great! I had a margarita pizza and it was excellent. Probably the best margarita pizza I've ever had. It had generous cheese, flaky flavorful crust and nice taste. Gratuity was included in each tab. Everyone had a great time mingling and the group really enjoyed coming here. Thank you for hosting our event and we'll be back!!

Really great, roomy bar with plenty of TVs to watch all your favorite sports team! Booth seats were super comfy too! I I felt like I could just sit there and chill all night without being pressured to leave if I didn't order a bunch of food and drinks! Really great atmosphere! Our server was extremely nice and chill! She checked in on us at the right times and made us feel very welcomed even though we only had 1 drink each! My Wake Up Call drink was only slightly tart, not too sweet, and pretty darn good!! I knocked off 1 star for excessively loud music. I don't know if ear drum bleedingly loud music is part of Bar Louie's Saturday night regimen, but the music was louder than many clubs I've been in recently! Maybe turning the volume down a few notches would help, but if a lot of their customers like to yell when trying to have a conversation in there, then by all means, don't mind me!!

Nashville chicken sliders were great. The Buffalo chicken was dry and flavorless though. The wings weren't battered, and the sauce lacked flavor. Drinks were good, and that Hennessy sidecar? Amazing! Servers were super nice and welcoming. It wasn't crowded, even with our big group. We played our music, and it was a great vibe.

The margaritas and mojitos here are amazing -- super refreshing, flavorful, and made just right. Definitely my favorite spot for drinks! Fantastic service and ambiance!

I always said "how can you mess up wings?" And what happened here.... The wings were old and overcooked. I let the front of the house know, he asks why'd you eat them all then. I was trying to give them the benefit of doubt, however they weren't good. He didn't even offer to remake the order or offer any type of compensation.

We have been here several times in the past and absolutely love the atmosphere. The food is great, drinks even better, and especially their cheesecake. 10/10 would highly recommend.

This is always a Great go to when I visit a Holiday Inn. The wait staff was very accommodating and helpful. The food is always tasty the happy hour specials. You can't beat it for the price.

Confusing location. I didn't realize this was located inside the hotel but this Bar Louie is pretty big with lots of seating options. Happy hour menus is pretty good with half off appetizers and also $5 you call it liquor which also included shots, $6 margaritas and mojitos. The calamari and the truffle mushroom asparagus flatbread was our group favorite. I got the mojito but I found it lacking alcohol and overly sweet. A waiter was great. Nice to talk to and got our drink ordered in and those arrived pretty quickly.

We were the only people here and when I asked for the check our waiter brought over the receipt folded and handed me a tablet to pay. I looked at the receipt and he had added two shots of grand mariner for $30 which he claimed was for another table despite the entire restaurant being empty. Should have been the first sign to avoid the place when an entire restaurant is empty at 6pm on a Sunday night. Food was okay, would not go back though. Oh and they automatically include their gratuity but try to sneak in more on their tablet. Check your receipt before paying!!!

Sarah & Alex are the best!!! We stopped in after a Company holiday party with the Cap of Fortune 509 company and these 2 handled the place like rockstars !!! Service was TOP notch and ambiance was amazing. Wished they played some music to bop too earlier in the night but when they started we ordered another round. This was my VP 1st time in the area and she was impressed!! Great job Alex& Sarah for amazing service and dedication

On Sat June 28th we went to a birthday celebration at Bar Louie. The original time was 6pm and we got there at abt 645 for rsvp of 15-20. The place was empty. When we got seated, it was so cold inside we asked if we could use the patio. Yanni/server told us it was under construction. Asked where we can smoke and pointed to the front door and repeated again the patio was under construction. As he was taking our order, he was very rude. So rude that he was asked if he ever worked at Dicks Last Resort!! He had to mention several times how had bartended for 30 years in Cali. He made sure we were aware of that. Very aware. He also started saying you can only use 3 cards for rsvp. As our guests arrived, he reiterated the policy but also tried to say even with cash he still needed a card. They mentioned how rude he was, so now I know it wasn't us. Time went along and we noticed some Caucasian ppl sitting on the patio. When he came past our table I asked him to give me the real reason we couldn't sit on the patio. He began to say he does not control the other employees. So I say "if it's under construction it would be a safety issue for ppl to be sitting out there". Then he said elderly ppl don't like to sit close to the dj. The 4 ppl out there were not elderly. Our party started moving onto the patio where now they're are actually seating ppl since they were requesting it when they arrived. They had severs on the patio including Yanni. No one asked us if we needed anything. Yanni even told the workers there were were being rude to him which is why he was being rude us and he wanted to leave and go home for the night. Only after I called him out. PLEASE STOP PATRONIZING THIS BAR LOUIE. It is under new mgt and clearly the staff is racist!! All demographics patronize this Bar Louie. It's one of the amenities listed for the Holiday Inn it's attached to. They wanted to put a margarita in a cognac glass and charge $20. I'm sure the Holiday Inn will not appreciate their business bring affected by the racism of the Bar Louie. See below the elderly ppl!!

No frill bar at the Holiday Inn, Oakbrook. I didn't eat here so can't speak to the food. I got a couple of Old Fashion cocktails and they were ok, not great but not the WI style either.

Slow service. Not only for me but everyone around. $9.50 for a non-fancy domestic beer ??? My first and last time going to Bar Louie in Oakbrook Terrace.

Amazing burgers! I love them! The service isn't the fastest but it is worth it for the food. The restaurant had sport games playing on tvs. Not horrible could have been more.

I ordered a Gastrobar Grilled cheese. The menu listed "parmesan encrusted " Grilled Cheese. Was not encrusted in anything. There was way too much cheese and it was LOADED with so much garlic I couldnt eat it.The menu listed tomato bisque soup to dip it in. " OH Baybee, we don't have that anymore" was the waitress response to inquiring about the soup. She asked me how everything was, and I said I didn't like the sandwich. "Oh Baybee I can't take it back" . I said I didn't ask you to take it back, I responded to your question. . No apologies were offered at all. Very unsatisfied with the food and service. I didnt like being called "Baybee", it's unprofessional. This Bar Louie location used to be a favorite of mine, but the service and quality of food has declined in the past months

This restaurant is in the lobby of the Holiday Inn. I was hosting a meeting at the hotel for 50 people from out of town. Their lunch choice was Lou Malnati's pizza. I also wanted to add salads and wings to broaden the selection so I stopped into Bar Louie's. The bartender couldn't help me and gave me the managers phone number. I tried calling but the voicemail box was full. I tried again later and same thing. They obviously are too busy or too lazy to take on more business. I added salads and wings to my malnati's order. It was delivered on time and everyone enjoyed. You snooze, you lose.

Used to be a nice bar but now it's a low-income bar. Fights happen every weekend but yet claim to be friendly. Avoid at all cost. there is always an upcharge because they know their clientele. [Bar Louie; if you're white or any race than black, you're not welcome here] Trash bar that over priced and has their system to pay for check and tips, but stil demand tips. Top it off they have a Skin Head as a bouncer. Avoid at all cost.

I will never ever visit this Bar Louie or any Bar Louie ever again. Bar Louie charges 18% gratuity on regular price drinks during happy hour. Listen closely......happy hour drinks at Bar Louie are 5 bucks.... that drink is regularly 10 bucks.......Bar Louie charges gratuity on the $10 bucks, but charges you the $5-dollar happy hour price. I believe this is illegal and I've contacted Corporate and waiting for phone call. I'll be contacting the BBB in the coming days. My bill was $59.38, the tip was $23.13. Don was the Manager I spoke to. Here's the thing, my company paid the bill, but you don't do people like that. This Bar Louie is located in the Holiday Inn, I told them because of the way BL operates, I will never stay there again!

THIS PLACE SUCKS! 45% of their beer taps have plastic cups on top of handles and are unavailable, the ones that are left are so bad that you have to choke down and they impose an 18% tip on every tab. The 18% isn't a big deal in the grand scheme of things, but at least they should live up to their end of the bargain. They claim "it's in fine print on the menu - you should've known..." well so is the availability of 27 beers but you only have 14 that you can commit to because the others are not available to the customers paying top 'appreciation tax' (AKA TIPS)for... I had one beer and I usually pay $1 per beer as a tip no matter the cost. That's fair. I asked them to take it off out of principal and the jr manager (little guy with dreads) threatened to call the police! WHAT? The bill was already paid. I was only asking him to revers it so I can choose my own tip. According to him, there are a lot of bars that impose a tip % across the board on a single customer (I was alone). I've seen that in parties of 6 or more but never at a marginal restaurant for solo customers. I go out a lot for food and beverage all over the country and world and have never seen that. If you decide to patronize this place, don't give your payment option until they allow you to tip what's appropriate!

The weirdest Bar Louie I've ever been to... First off, we go to the bar to order our drinks and look at the food menu. The bartender who took our order just doesn't want to be personable or move very quickly. It took 10 minutes to get drinks, and another 2 reminders and almost 10 minutes to get our waters (she claimed she couldn't find plastic cups.. ASK SOMEONE, or just put the water in glass!). The TV's.. some were showing sports, some were showing nothing all, and none were in high def even though the TV's are capable of it. Weird..it's 2021, figure out how to get your TV's setup right. Nothing like fuzzy pictures and the picture not taking up the whole screen, as you're trying to see the NBA playoffs. Then, as our food arrived at 8:10pm or so, we were presented with volume 10 (previously volume 2) hip-hop. I like hip hop. I don't love hip hop but I like it. I definitely don't like volume 10 hip hop at 8;10pm ANYWHERE, even a club, and especially not at a Bar Louie in a hotel. People bring their families and friends for a meal and to hang out, not for early evenin' room shakin' bass. I was next to my wife at the bar and literally had to raise my voice to talk to her. Bar Louie has no dance floor. Why would you play music at dance floor volumes? Weird. Then, because we weren't feeling great and didn't need volume 10 music anymore, we got drinks to go, for our hotel room. My wife got an old fashioned. I don't think the bartender who made it has ever made an old fashioned. Ever. Worst old fashioned we've ever had, but we weren't gonna take it down 5 floors to complain about it. They wouldn't have been able to hear us anyway. I've been to 3 other Bar Louie's multiple times.. this was not a Bar Louie experience.

Burger was decent 3 stars gave 4 because the service was good because of Sarah,she is basically running the place all other servers there looked unmotivated and they didn't work together she still maintained great service to customers and I thanked her for it, half off burgers Tuesday will be back hope have to opportunity to get Sarah again I asked for a drink two times to the other bartender and said give me a few mins Sarah just took over and got it done, appreciate good service when I go out to eat hope they get staff to match her work ethic

I ate here 3 times during the week for dinner and every morning for breakfast, one experience would be a 2-3 stars for dinner, but the other 2 times for dinner were very good experiences. I was always taken care of quickly. The food was good each time with the one exception where it was not hot... yep that is a polite way of saying it was barely warm. Breakfast on the other hand, the buffet is not worth eating. I am not sure I could even give the buffet 2 stars... Seriously, keep in mind I don't like buffets; I do eat them once in a while, but they are not my favorite. I did order off of the menu a couple times, the 2 eggs with potatoes and bacon was good. The wrap was flavorless, I do understand it was egg whites and mushrooms/onions/white cheese, but still.... salt and pepper are your friend. If back at this hotel I would do my best to order off of the menu and avoid the wrap.

I've been to some of their other locations and this one was not quite up to par. Upon walking in, it was dark and dingy, we weren't greeted by anyone and a part of the seating area was closed off due to leaky ceiling. So, first impression....yeah, it was a tough one. But i do love their Bolingbrook location so i had to stick around and give them a fair chance. The service was okay overall. It didn't blow anyone away but it was consistent. The food was very limited, it felt like we all at the table had the same thought when looking over the menu. Something along the lines of: "oh, only a page and a half of actual menu items to eat from" and then looking back over them. The food itself was good but then again, i did just order their signature burger which is their BBQ burger. It was delicious and the fries reminded me of a KFC style French fries but that wasn't necessarily a bad thing lol but it just wasn't great pub food. As part of the hotel, i expected it to be more upscale then their other locations. They have the slot machines on one wall, no pool tables or anything like that, it's a relatively small place.

The bad 1st: typical nasty bar food. My quesadilla was grilled way to hard that I needed the pico de gallo and guacamole to make it edible. Now the good : this is a nice spot to meet friends and enjoy the atmosphere of TVs all around and a live crowd of people. I would come back but not too sure I would order any food again.. ginger ale only FYI : This location is inside of a Holiday Inn. Don't let that fact deceive you, all the twists and turns that it takes for you to get to the spot once inside the hotel. It's worth it if you need a place to go and you are in this part of Oakbrook Terrace.

Don't waste your time. So many great bars in Oakbrook area to enjoy just not this place.

This was my first time at Bar Louie and to be honest I wasn't expecting much, I really didn't even want to go here but sometimes what you want doesn't matter. Upon arrival we couldn't figure out if this place was open or close for remodel. There was stuff taped on the window and no signs saying they were open during construction so we almost left and went somewhere else. This Bar Louie is located inside a hotel, as I said earlier it's being remodeled while open for business so keep that in mind. If you've never been to a Bar Louie before, this is a place where you seat yourself. Unfornately many people don't realize this until they stand at the front for a good 5 or more mins waiting for someone to sit them. It would be nice if Bar Louie put up a sign letting people know to seat themselves. Don't assume everyone knows this because they don't. As I was sitting at my table I saw several people waiting to be seated. Once we sat ourselves our waitress came over and took our drink orders, it seems like it took a long while for her to bring our drinks, for some reason she was the only waitress that day. To make a long story short, I ordered a cheese quesadilla and a S'mores Martini. I added salmon to my quesadilla because I don't eat any other "meat" I only eat seafood. They charged me an extra $6 for the salmon, which I felt was too much but I digress. My drink was very strong, I wasn't too impressed with it but I drank it anyway. My quesadilla was Really good! I was impressed. Would I go again? Yes I would, I wasn't expecting much from this place but the food was pretty good. I would definitely go back and I would more than likely choose them over Buffalo Wild Wings. Make sure to sign up for their loyalty program to receive a free app. Do this the day before you visit if you can. It takes 24 hours to receive the coupon.

Went in with a few friends. The bartender with the colored hair seemed like she was drunk and more Interested in flirting with the other employee than take care of us. We left without ordering. Avoid.

Food was okay. The cheese for our pretzels had film on it like it was microwaved. We ended looking up after we ate and noticed that some tiles were bulging like there was water damage. Then we looked in the other direction and there was LITERAL mold growing out of a tile. Never ever ever eat here. My friend and I are allergic to mold and have been feeling a little sick since.

I stopped in with family a while ago and I'm still thinking about it. We had just left a funeral and many people were staying at the hotel so they wanted to just meet here to have dinner and then go back to their rooms. We went in and it wasn't busy as it was a weekday. We let them know that more people would be coming, about 30, and that we were fine if things took a while. They only had one person to serve food and we understood that. They asked if we were celebrating anything and I let them know we were all coming from a funeral. They said we could pick any tables as people were only at the bar. When there were about 5 of us they said it would be too many people so to make it easier they would put all everybody who came in on one check and we could pay that one person ourselves. We understand it is hard to divide so asked about just paying by table groupings and they said no. We felt like we would've been better off not telling them that we had a group of people who knew each other because if we came in normally in our family groups we would've paid by table. There aren't other times you have multiple tables on the same tab and this practice made no sense. They just seemed upset and annoyed at us that we came. We tried to see if they took reservations but it didn't say it anywhere. Being in a hotel you think they would expect groups to come and go. They knew this wasn't an "event" we planned ahead of time as they knew it was following a funeral so it just upset us even more. Me and my family decided to just leave and wait longer somewhere else where they wouldn't seem already so upset at us but our older family members were too tired to travel much so felt it was their only option if they want to eat and go straight to bed as they don't drive or walk far. The nicest person we encountered was the night security guard who was just hanging out with his biker friends and was off-shift and held the door for us.

This location is probably the worst location I have ever been to. My guy and I went last night to this location and yes it was busy however the service was horrendous. It took forever to get napkins and silverware. My guys food was cold when it came out to him. He definitely should've comped our meal but he did not. Our server never came to us to check on our food, if we needed drinks, or if we had napkins or silverware. It took forever to find management. When we did find management he did assist us. The manager did order a new batch of food for my guy however, that also came out cold. Our server forgot our drinks and couldn't remember the type of drinks that we had. It was a $90 meal which was worth $20 if that. I don't know if I will ever suggest this location to anyone. One star for the diva drink.

It's a nice casual bar with lots of seating. It's kinda hard to find because it's inside of a hotel. The parking is around back. I had a great time coming here. I came here with my cousin and his dad for his dads birthday. We sat at the bar and had a few drinks. BEST BLOODY MARY's! Peter was a great bar tender and definitely made it a good time. I can't wait to come back for the Bloody Mary!

This Bar Louie location is in the lobby of a Holiday Inn. Would I make a special trip to go here? Nope. But, when you are at a training class and you need somewhere to eat, it's convenient. Bar Louie is nothing spectacular. If you go in expecting chain restaurant bar food, than you will get what you are expecting. I had the Voodoo Pasta. It usually comes with andouille sausage and shrimp. I asked if I could substitute chicken for the shrimp and they were fine with doing that. My pasta was fine and the service was fine, so I guess I got what I expected. It wasn't very crowded during a later lunch around 1pm on a weekday. Service was adequate. Sorry, this is a boring review, but that's about it for this place.

I love this place and the service is always great. My fiance and I went here on our first date because it was a Tuesday and nothing else was open late. We went outside to smoke and they thought we dined and dashed (I don't blame them!) They apologized and gave us a meal for free and offered to make them again so we could take them home! We went here again some time after and great service and food just as before!

Don't waste your tine on the weekend at the oakbrook location on the weekend. Parking is crazy limited.

We went there Sunday around 5pm, we asked the bartender if we could seat in the patio and he said yes the server will be there, Patio only had 1 family plus, my and my partner, we waited around 15 min waitress never looked or acknowledge that we were there, after 20 min we decided to walk away, they didn't even asked why are we leaving or if someone helped because they were to busy talking at the bar, second time this happens. Never coming here again,

Today 1st and last time coming here. Poor quality of food. Server brought out wrong drinks, food was cold, top it off we wasn't done having dinner when the check was brought out to the table . Didn't even care to ask if we needed anything...DONT WAIST Your TIME and MONEY....TOTAL DISAPPOINTMENT....

Came on Friday with my co workers. Our server Larnnell was awesome. He was very attentive polite a whole vibe. Music was decent. Bartender was cool. Definitely will come back
