Bar Louie - The Promenade at Downey

Got the pretzels, Louie's cheeseburger with a side of their spicy sauce, Truffle and asparagus Flatbread. The pretzels were fun to eat with delicious slightly tangy sauce. Burger was juicy and flavorful, tasted great with their spicy sauce. Pizza was cooked well I just didn't like the asparagus flavor. Place is nice and big with indoor & outdoor seating. Prices are fair for the quality & portion. Staff was friendly. Located in a huge Plaza with plenty of parking.

They have the best food I have ever had! The salmon is amazing. The shrimp is very succulents. The trio dip sampler is so delicious. Their salad is so fire with their homemade ranch dressing. You guys have to try it.Everything was a 10 out of 10. The drinks are so good as well. Make sure you guys grab a lemon drop. I added raspberry flavor to mine and it was so good. Best drinks ever. I would highly recommend this place to anybody and will return. Thank you all so much!

I had an amazing experience at this restaurant! The food was bursting with flavor and every bite was delicious. I tried the steak frites and the salmon and both were cooked perfectly. The drinks were just as impressive, incredibly tasty and well crafted. The music and overall atmosphere were such a vibe, definitely a place I will be coming back to!

Only 2 stars for the lighting, too dark for me, didn't retouch the photos, that's how dark it is. BUT the burgers were AMAZING. Super delish, well done with a tiny crisp on the the outside and juicy on the inside. Fries were perfectly crispy too, and for me the right amount of fries. I'm in my later 50s, still I gave 1/2 my fries to my husband since he loves them, I shouldn't eat to many. Tuesday is the day to go, almost all burgers are 1/2 off. It took a while to get refills so 3 stars for that, they are friendly but maybe not well staffed on a Tuesday. Will go here again.

I was here visiting family. My friends and I ended up here for drinks and apps before my flight. If I could rate this place lower I would. It took over 30 minutes for us to even get acknowledged. It actually wasn’t until a friend flagged someone down for the 3rd time and asked for a manager did we get served. The drinks were also not good or as described. Not to mention the manager said we weren’t served in a timely fashion because it was only 2 servers on the floor and they were busy. Then said my friend is free to apply for a there….. As someone whose worked in the industry 10+ not only was that unprofessional but not being properly staffed is NOT something that falls on the client but the business.

Great place to come and drink some IPA beer, hot wings and watch football game with the family and wife, just for the halibut!

I came here for Sunday football and had a sever named Alexa, made my experience great!

We traveled to Downey for a concert on 12/14/24 and had picked another restaurant in the Promenade to visit and were confirmed for a reservation. We checked in early, but 20 minutes after our confirmed reservation time, the manager said he wasn't sure when we could be seated. Since we were going to a concert nearby, we didn't want to take a chance of being late and canceled our reservations at restaurant one and tried Bar Louie. We were greeted and I told the host the situation. They had seating and Alex told her that he would take us to a table. He was very welcoming and hearing our situation, assured us that he'd be able to help us and make sure we were set to get to our concert. Alex was great with helping us and got our order in right away. The food arrived promptly and was enjoyable. We had a great dining experience and made it to our concert in time. Thanks to Alex for going above and beyond. If we are ever back in Downey, we'll stop by again.

Good environment, do not get chef burger. It says new but the cheese came out cold. The onions were not even grilled. The food took over an hour to make the most Basic cold burger I ever had. The waitress came up to me twice , only because my beer was empty. She did not care that I was displeased . Customer service and the chefs need to take more pride in their food especially if the burger is called CHEF BURGER!!! I would not recommend to come here for more than the drinks or something other than a burger !!

Food was great. When it got here. There were 5 of us and it seemed to take the service forever to get anything done. Food was 5 star, service was a 1. We sat and ordered apps and a drink. Drinks came out at different times, appetizer came out so much later we were done with our drinks but the person who delivered the apps was not the server and we couldn't order another round, which we would have. Food came out in waves by an expediter, and we couldn't order another round from them because they were not our server. Service was just not attentive. They could have doubled the bar bill, but their inattention prevented that. Also, there is a busser who comes around and collects plates and glasses, and EVERY TIME he put his finger in the glass when picking them up. So unnerving. It was good but we won't be back. Music was good and the game was on, but it's like other sports bar type places. The dirty martini was advertised as having blue cheese olives and didn't. We needed to ask for them and they were eventually brought. Lastly, the smore martini was advertised with chocolate drizzle and graham cracker rim and as you can see from the photo, it was missing.

Bar Louie is a good place to go chat and have a drink with your loved one! The pepperoni flat bread was bomb, the loaded tots were bomb and the spinach artichoke dip was delicious! Our server was chill and the vibe there is nice and chill. Definitely a great place to watch games. Cute little date restaurant for sure!

We went at night, it might be better during the day? The server was really sweet and attentive, but she did charge us for an extra drink that we didn't order. She quickly fixed it, but if we hadn't noticed we would have accidentally paid for it. I had the honey blackberry bourbon. It was okay, but a little water down for my liking. I didn't use the restrooms, but my friends did and told me not to go in there if I didn't have to because they were so dirty. Had a fun vibe overall, but it was more club-like and I think we were looking for more of a chilled vibe. We probably should have done our research first. Overall, it was okay! Nothing I'd go out of my way for.

Me and boyfriend came on Saturday, it wasn't too packed and we did the bottomless mimosas. Ari was our server- she was very attentive and treated us well!! Overall we had a great experience, will come again

The servers are good the bartenders are super cool. The downfall is that they are not allowed to have a drink nor a shot with the patrons. The ambiance is good specially when they have DJ on Fridays and Saturdays. It is a good place to come and watch the game. I've had the tenders with Korean BBQ and burgers. Our go to are Jameson pickle backs, Remy Martin and Apple martini.

Went here on a Sunday to watch the Los Angeles Rams play on TV. Ordered a Sandwhich and Hamburger. Our waiter was nice. No complaints, food was delicous and the service was great. There is a large Rams Fanbase there. If you are a La Rams fan, this is a place to go at an away game!. Cool place. Latin Culture presence at this bar. Was pretty cool that the Dj was playing.

Anyway you cut it, this place is overpriced. Depending just like any other bar, the vibe is hit or miss. You see many different types of folks here, but if you sit outside of the bar tap the service can lag. Beer selection is what gets this place to 3 stars but barely

Ambiance: Lots of space inside, great sized bar, and not crazy loud inside. I came at the beginning of happy hour, and there were plenty of seats available, no one at the front which was a bit odd but not a big deal. Service: No complaints on the service, didnt have to wait too long for anything. Everyone i spoke to was kind and helpful. Food: I came for the drinks so I can't speak too much about the food. I had some pretzel bites, which were average, wasn't a fan of either of the sauces. On the other hand the drinks didn't do it for me.. the strawberry lemonade sangria was so bitter, almost sour. I wasn't a fan... the margarita was better, refreshing but lacked flavor if that makes sense. I'd try it again just for different items Parking was slightly chaotic, but it's a popular shopping center.

This was my first time here, and I came on a Wednesday at around 5 PM. The parking lots nearby fill up quickly; however, there are other parking lots where you can find an empty spot. We were seated immediately. Service was spotty, and we had to flag them down to get things. I recommend coming here during their happy hour! Some appetizers are half off, and some cocktails are $8.50. I tried the cocktails, the OG mule, and the Havana classic mojito, which made me tipsy. I got chicken tenders, and the two flavors I tried were garlic parmesan and hot honey. The chicken tenders were crispy and saucy. The hot honey was delicious, and I would return just for them. I enjoyed my experience here but would only return during happy hour.

Bar Louie was a pretty cool hang out spot. They have a happy hour with a good amount of food and drink options. We tried a little bit of everything on the happy hour food menu and it did not disappoint. The drinks we tried as well were pretty tasty and they did the work. They made us happy, lol. Our server was pretty attentive despite it being a little busier than usual and that was a plus. She helped us with drink choices and recommendations. Towards the end, her shift ended and the girl that took over was just as attentive and continued providing great service. The parking area can be a bit challenging in that shopping center, but if you go east of the restaurant, you should be able to find ample parking with no issues.

Nice drinks! Conveniently in a large shopping center. I wish there were more gluten free buns or gluten free items. They messed up on one part of our order but promptly changed the receipt, Which was much appreciated. Got the nachos pretty good. My boyfriend liked their burgers.

It has been a while since we came to this establishment, and we got to say the service has gone downhill since. We sat down and moved locations multiple times since the tables were wobbly and the QR code for the menu could not be read by our phones. Took a while for the waitress to bring us a menu so as soon as she arrived we ordered fearing she might not come back around for a while. The food took over 30 mins to come out and everyone seemed annoyed with the wait. There was no more than 15 people eating lunch. From what we could see there was 1 bartender and 1 waitress acting as the greeter as well. The food was good but the service was lacking.

I am rating this place 5 stars!! I've had bad service here but as of lately the bartenders and servers are way nicer now. The one that always helps to feel welcomed and well taken care of is YG!!!!! Best service, humble and willing to make sure you are taken care of.

I came her before on a date and thought it would be a good idea to have a luncheon there for my birthday. The food was good and so was the drinks. It started off good with the arrangements. I had reserved the spot 1-2 weeks before that Saturday. I had a party of 20. Pro 1: Jasmine did the best she could even tho she got orders wrong. Pro 2: The secluded section in the back for my luncheon was real cool. Pro 3: We were allowed to pay with separate checks. Con 1: The food came out sporadic and some cold. Fries didn't taste fresh. Con 2: Two of my guests ordered the fish and chips. One ordered a salad with hers instead of chips. Alex (tall guy with the hat backwards) brought the order with chips to my female guest. The female guest ordered the salad with the fried fish. Alex wanted to take the order and give it to the guest who ordered it with chips. She told him she had ate some of the fries from the plate. Alex STILL wanted to give the plate of food to the other person stating "it's only fries". We were shocked to say the least. I had to firmly tell Alex we were not doing that and they needed to make his order and bring it out to him and bring the salad. I know y'all can get in trouble about that one. That's just nasty. Con 3: I ordered the blazin burger with the sauce on the side, grilled onion, add pickles, and no American cheese. I got the burger with American cheese and no pickles, with the sauce on the burger. Took them 15 minutes to take it back. I didn't get my order until it was at the end. When I finally got the plate back, the order was still incorrect. She had it bagged up to go. I just didn't say anything any more. I wasn't charged and I still didn't eat it. The fries were not hot and there wasn't many to begin with. Con 4: My guest said Vee was rude with one of my guest about some fries that she said was "preportioned". It wasn't what she said. It was how she said it. Con 5: We had one server, Jasmine. She had minor help from Vee and Alex. She also had to tend to the rest of the restaurant which wasn't no where near full. Yet our orders came out wrong and some cold. Some orders even came out late. And we STILL had to give Jasmine 20% gratuity. Tell me where was the fairness in that if the customer service didn't warrant 20%? To say the place was short staff is an understatement. That was terrible. Thanks for ruining my 50th birthday lunch. I guarantee I won't recommend y'all to anybody... and neither will my guests. Do better in all areas. SMH

I love coming here. YG is literally the best server EVER! She was so welcoming. I come here a lot. But I feel like she goes above and beyond to make sure me and my friends have a great time!

I'm a regular at Bar Louie and it's always a great time and good food. Can't go wrong with bottomless mimosas. But my favorite part is getting to see my fave server YG! She doesn't let my glass go empty, is the sweetest soul and has excellent customer service. Love you YG! Perfect Sunday Funday spot to watch the game!

The service is amazing here. Irene is such a great server and her drink and food suggestions were delicious. Would definitely suggest making your way down here for a fun happy hour.

First time here and loved it. Staff is friendly and attentive. The food was amazing. I had the hot wings and the Artichoke dip. Both were yum! My favorite was the pink flamingo Paloma. I'm very particular about a good Paloma and this one was extremely good. Definitely will be back.

Sooo it was the postseason game, Dodgers were playing So I get that service gets a little hectic. Being a server is hard! But this service was not it! I came with a friend to watch the game, found myself a table and there was 5 parties all around us, kid you not , the server looked at me once, walked away but asked every other table if they were okay. I sat on a dirty table to top it off. No one came to clean it The server kept coming back asking every other table if they were okay but us! Like what!? I know they saw me When I tried to flag them down the third time, they heard me, but then turned around and served a table full of men ignoring us! The whole time it was horrible When it was finally time to order, it was a quick one. They never gave us clean plates or napkins. They thought it was okay to use the old ones that were already at the table I will say tho , the food was good, the drinks were great!

Food amazing, tater tots are to die for. Been going here for couple years for game days. Salmon sliders are good, all nighters for brunch is good, spinach and artichoke is always great for stater. Thank you ari for always treating us well.

Cool Happy Hour Spot - Loved "The Wake Up Call" cocktail My sister and I popped into Bar Louie for happy hour, and it was a pleasant surprise. Great Happy hour menu and deals. It was Martini Monday so it was $8 martinis. We sat at the bar and the service was attentive, especially from the bartenders who made sure we were well taken care of. We gave the "Wake Up Call" drink a shot, and it was sooo delicious - if you like Bellini's I think you'll love this cocktail. The food was good, nothing extraordinary, but it did the job. Also, we weren't focused on food so we ordered items to munch on while we enjoyed our cocktails lol We had truffle fries, a quesadilla and flatbread. With plenty of TVs around, it's a laid-back spot to catch a game or just unwind with friends. While it's not our usual hangout, we enjoyed our time and wouldn't mind returning for another round.

Used to come here all the time was great vibes good service, but as of lately when I walk in nobody is around to greet, serve or cares. The bar tender acted like he didn't see us just standing there at a table then proceeds to great the party of 6 that came in right after us. This place has gotten

Enjoyed delicious brunch here. The flatbread pizza and drinks were great. The bartender had decent customer service. But seemed like he also had friends there he was talking too a lot. No biggie. Place was empty. Just both parties. Ambiance was cool. Most screens were off. But the ones at the bar were on. Looking forward to visiting during their n dinner time hours.

I NEVER write reviews so you know this is bad! 55 minutes for a to go order that is so cold it was unstable and I went to a drive through after I got home!!! You only staff two bartenders? You always packed, your food is mediocre AT BEST, and the ONLY thing special about your spot is that it's open later than everybody else. Spend the extra $100 and staff, one or two more bartenders!!! Spent $140 for food that was un edible!!! What a ******* JOKE! If you want to get more than one drink every 45 -90 or you would like to have your food before it is cold avoid this place at all cost!

Sooooo was here on a Sunday and had the worst service ever. Literally waiting 20 minutes plus for service in between drinks. Ruined my night. The waiter totally disregarded us. His name was Jay. Then I confronted him on the horrible service and he had a sarcastic smile like he didn't care at all. Like he was untouchable. When asked where the replaced drink was, he stated that he just removed from the bill but did not communicate that to the table

Jasmine Z was our server for the evening and she did a wonderful job taking care of us. She recommended my new favorite drink the lone star lemonade. She made our time here great!

This place has so much potential to be a great evening night out. The music is great, they have a long wrap around bar in the middle. Their outdoor patio is large and has tvs. They definitely need to hire more staff, especially for a weekend. We arrived at 8:15 and there were two seats at the bar that they didn't mention we're available. We didn't know if we were able to just go sit at the bar or not because from the moment we walked in, they pretty much said that we can sit ourselves and the outdoor patio that they had nothing inside. Once we seated ourselves we had yo wait awhile for a server. Someone brought us waters once but we didn't get refill on our waters for over an hour until we had to wait and finally catch our poor server who is hustling around and ask him for more water. The worst part is that one of the boys took my old fashion before I was even finished with it he didn't even ask me. He just walked right up to the table took the drink even though it was still in front of me it wasn't off to the side. He walked up grabbed it, put it in his black tray bucket and walked off my date and I both looked at each other. Like did he really just do that my drink wasn't even finished yet. And it's not like those drinks are very cheap so that kind of sucks that not only my 20 minutes to half an hour just to get a drink but not even get to finish My drink is another thing. At one point I kept telling my date that I just wanted to leave already because of service was so terrible. There was only one person assisting the whole outside patio. We had to wait so long just to ask for our bill. I don't recommend coming here unless you're OK with waiting a long time. Other than that the drinks were good I had the lemon martini. It was delicious not too sweet. Their old fashion was tasty and yummy. I've had better ones, but theirs was still good. The chicken nachos were not good. The size portion is great. However, they put barely any shredded chicken in there. I specifically told the person taking my order that I did not want the avocado, guacamole sauce and yet they still put sauce on my nachos. Overall it was just not a good experience. I would like to come back again because the bar is nice and drinks are good and the music was great but I won't come back again knowing that I have to wait long time for every little thing I need, especially water.

I recently went here for my 21st and had a good time. The ambiance is pretty loud because it's a sports bar, so if that's what you're looking for then it's perfect. It's more of a place to socialize than to experience an aesthetic vibey night. The service was okay! Orders and drinks were served on time and made well. They didn't have piña coladas which was a HUGE bummer (staff said they didn't have a blender that day). The food however was pretty good and probably my favorite part of the night! I highly recommend the tater tots.

I stopped by for drinks with friends. It was my first time here and our server Michael was so kind and attentive. He recommended the effen good margarita with tajin and my friends loved it! I would definitely go back.

Whyyy do I come here weekly and tell my family and SpaceX coworkers to come here after I just got absolutely mistreated by an employee here for leaving my purse!! IM A COMPLETE REGULAR AND HAVE BEEN FOR YEARS!!! Dark skinned, tight curly haired woman rudely kicked me out of the restaurant for trying to get my purse in which they originally told my boyfriend they didn't have!! And mngr then walked out with!!! Then the manager walks out with it and doesn't even apologize on behalf of the staff that claimed not to have it!!! And another person tells us, after handing the bag, "we have to close the door " wtf!!!! I love going and have been for years since I'm a local, but this new customer service has me feeling some type of way! And will definitely get in contact with corporate to provide feedback on their personnel!
