Best New Bars Around Boston, According to Eater Editors | Eater Boston

"Life doesn’t get much better than crepes and cocktails, as Bar Lunette can attest. Operating partner Nick Mallia, who is also behind the next-door Paris Creperie, opened the bar as an homage to his former colleague, Boston bartending legend Brother Cleve, who died in 2022. The pair had long dreamt of opening a bar highlighting French spirits; Bar Lunette is the realization of that dream. Inside, bargoers are encouraged to pair drinks like Paris Is Burning, a spicy and smoky spin on a margarita, with delightful sweet and savory crepes from Paris Creperie." - Erika Adams

Bar Lunette, a French Cocktail Bar, Opens in Brookline | Eater Boston

"A new French-style bar opening in Coolidge Corner from the team behind the local crepe shop, this project is a living memorial to a late Boston bartending legend and emphasizes classic French spirits and cocktails. The drink list mixes playful, theatrical offerings—including the glittery purple daiquiri called the Stardust (made with butterfly tea rum), the Guillo-tini (a cosmopolitan topped with rose and basil foam), and the smoky Paris is Burning margarita—with spritzes, classic cocktails, and a robust French wine selection; some recipes expand on earlier cordial-based concepts by swapping in hard liquor. The kitchen keeps things casual with tater tots with melted cheese, deviled eggs, French onion soup, omelets, and sandwiches, and crepes from the neighboring creperie can be brought over during slow hours; weekend brunch and industry brunches are planned. Inside, decor preserves remnants of the building’s previous life as an optician’s shop—notably a large black-glasses art piece above the bar and vintage signage—and a collage of photos honoring the late bartender is being assembled, reinforcing the bar’s neighborhood-hub intentions for pre- and post-theater crowds." - Celina Colby

This is where Brookline hides a little slice of magic ✨️ Located right at Coolidge Corner, this french bar used to be an optician shop. The lighting is low and warm with the interiors beautifully decorated in vintage collections, fashion prints, and checkerboard floors with a retro feel along with the chatters floating the air creating such a warm, intimate setting. I've gone here quite a few times and let me tell you about some of the drinks I've tried. I've had the Guillo-tini, Stardust, Lunette's French Martini, Nutella Espresso Martini, Live, Laugh, Louvre and more! Every drink was carefully made and beautifully crafted by every bartender that works there. I especially love the Stardust. The drink itself had the right sweetness and magic in each sip I took. The Nutella Espresso Martini pays homage to the creperie right next door. The best thing about this bar too is that you can order a crepe to go with your drink! Truly the perfect spot to end my day in where I can slow down a little bit and savor the moment!

We came in on a Saturday night and it was crowded but we were able to get a seat within about 30 minutes. The cocktails were excellent, and prices were reasonable. My bartender boyfriend was happy with his drinks, which is high praise. We will definitely be back!

Google
What a great find!!!! Cocktails are excellent, uniquely crafted and special. This place is great before or after dinner, to meet up with a small group of friends or a second date. And don’t forget to try a crepe next door.

Recently visited with friends and like it. its new opening in Boston area. The bartenders clearly know their craft and are happy to make recommendations based on your preferences. It’s a great place if you’re looking for quality drinks in a stylish, comfortable setting.

Corey and Erik were just absolutely wonderful and made the experience all the better as visitors here. The drinks were PHENOMENAL, delicious, the atmosphere was super laid back, quick and easy service, great conversation, and overall just a wonderful way to end an evening. Originally, we walked in and there were no seats but Corey took our order and ensured we would receive comfortable seats as some patrons were closing their tabs and we have been here ever since. Would 10000000% come back again and spend my paycheck here. As long as Corey and Erik are here, you’re going to have a wonderful time.

Google
Bar Lunette is a fantastic new addition to Coolidge Corner—a buzzing French brasserie–style spot that already feels like a neighborhood staple. (If you’re familiar with the neighborhood, know that this new bar is run by the same team that runs Paris Crêperie next door!) There was standing room available in the front window nook, which turned out to be a perfect people-watching perch. I didn’t mind standing, but I really appreciated that our server instinctively grabbed a chair for my mother when it became available—such a intuitive and thoughtful gesture that speaks volumes about the level of hospitality here. The wine list fittingly leans French—we were both smitten with the Crémant de Limoux—a crisp, bubbly delight with bright floral notes and a clean finish. I also had the “Live, Laugh, Louvre” spritz made with gin, house-made strawberry syrup, and sparkling wine (probably the Crémant again)! It was fresh, sweet, and the perfect early evening sip.

Yelp
I really enjoyed my time here at bar Lunette. The place is small, but the ambience is so pretty . very dark Paris themed with glasses because of course it used to be a glass store lol it was really crowded at 8 PM but luckily my girlfriend and I were able to get seats and even for those who weren't able to get seats they still were able to get their orders and drink. I first had the live laugh louvre followed by the Nutella espresso martini. It was really good if only this place was bigger it would be great but I think it's because of the small ambience of it that makes it unique service was also prompt and courteous. I would come here again, but maybe on a weekday night or earlier on Fridays or Saturdays.

Yelp
I LOVE THIS PLACE. I'm lucky if I get a seat. There is this male bartender that is always so funny and he makes great conversation. I love going here and Coolidge corner is lucky to have this not so hidden gem. The drinks are creative and the service is quick. Sorry if yall catch me reading a book here I'm not trying to be cool I just like reading with a cute cocktail

Yelp
Service and hand crafted drinks were wonderful. We also ordered a Bean Apetit crepe that was fabulous.

Yelp
Cocktails were good, ambience was cozy and inviting, and service was excellent. The hours simply can't be beat in the neighborhood. A minor suggestion is to move the plastic bottles away from the bar area - they are an eyesore to an otherwise pretty interior. Ironically, it appears to be the same business as the Paris Creperie next door which I find very underwhelming.

Yelp
Drinks were absolutely amazing. The bartenders were so kind and funny. We really enjoyed our experience and will be coming back again, and again. Love the ambiance too. Prices are so reasonable!

Yelp
Genuinely such kind employees who treated us so well! I was so impressed with the service and atmosphere. I can't wait to come back because the bar staff were so lovely to us. Drinks were fabulous of course, but the friendliness really stood out to me.
