On the Grid : Bar Neon

"This dimly lit Bar Neon doesn’t look like much from the street. But, once inside, you’re treated with a meticulously decorated space with plenty to look at: the ‘last call’ neon sign, the water fountain, the exposed brick and original ceilings that have been beautifully restored. They offer a small menu of Greek tapas plates to compliment a large offering of cocktails and beers. Try their signature drink: a bourbon negroni with Four Roses bourbon." - Zachary Radford

Such a vibe. Super tasty food. Great service. We had lunch on the patio and it was nice there was some shade! The feta fries are delicious. And the oysters were so fresh! Everything on the menu was amazing. Plus there’s a little parkette behind the patio so it was perfect for the kids.

Been a fan of this place for years and every time I go I leave so satisfied! This time we went for happy hour. It’s from 3-6 pm and offers both food and drinks. I had the Not an Espresso Martini which heavily resembles tiramisu as a drink. 10 out of 10, I’d recommend that martini. We also got dip and bread. It’s a staple there for sure and all the dips are great! If you’re looking for a Greek small plates place with great drinks too this is your place :)

Google
yum! great marinated olives — big portion. even though it was a happy hour item. dip was delicious too, great pita bread. bf got meatballs which looked great too ! service was nice, inside is a BIT cramped but my bad picking a table next to their water filling station lol. kept getting splashed.

Google
Really nice patio space for a small group. Great service. Good feta fries. Pizza has good crust, but tastes like a bar pie.

Google
Great vibes and food. We went for happy hour (3-6pm) and ordered the dip and pita, chicken souvlaki, oysters and the goat pizza (not part of happy hour). The main star dish was definitely the goat pizza which was so flavourful and overall a really good wood oven fired pizza. We also got the not an espresso martini and seasonal cocktail (kumquat cocktail) which were fantastic. Our service was great and we were seated at the back patio which was cozy. Loved the vibes and can’t wait to be back!

Google
GOAT pizza was delicious! Olive tapenade is very olive-y, definitely needs to be shared by multiple people. Back patio is cute and heated!

Google
we sat at the patio in the backyard and everything was fantastic. Eylul took care of us and she was very knowledgeable about the menu, incredibly polite, and efficient. we enjoyed several appetizers, pizza (g.o.a.t) potatoes w feta, friedcalamari, and chicken — all were delicious. The cocktails were also excellent /we tried the Negroni and Espresso Martini. definitely will back

Google
Patio was beautiful, food was okay, service was rather unfortunate, somewhat unfriendly. We felt very rushed, until we wanted our bill, which took 40 minutes to come. Then the waitress stood over each of us watching us choose the tipping option (suggested tips started at 18% btw).

Yelp
Really liked this bar, intimate and cozy. The food was tasty and servers were nice! I tried the "not an espresso martini" and it was like a sweet treat! Can see why people like it. I ordered the "world traveler" and liked that it had a kick to it. We ordered a couple of apps and stayed for a few hours. The portions were really generous, specifically the sourdough and the feta fries. Definitely recommend this place if you're in the area.

Yelp
They've got a nice-sized back patio with heaters, so come and enjoy the al fresco vibes. Our table of four had the shared platter, a pizza, and the trio of dips and an extra serving of pita. Everything was tasty and awesome, and I'd love to come back.

Yelp
Bar neon is the perfect place to grab drinks and apps! My friends and I hit up this cozy spot to catch up over drinks and some delicious food. The only reason I gave this place 4 stars is because we didn't even get 10 pieces of calamari despite it being $22. All the food and drinks were phenomenal. We enjoyed all the dips especially the walnut and pomegranate dip. The espresso martini is a must try! The cream on top tastes like a tiramisu. I was wishing I had to spoon to scrape the cup clean. Overall the food and drinks were delicious. Definitely a spot worth visiting

Yelp
It's a no for me. The oysters came on a plate of cold water instead of ice. They tasted watery and just plain gross. The tzatziki was awful and the bread to dip was dry and burnt. The olives were awful. The chicken had potential but was very dry. When we walked in, two kitchen staff just stood there chatting amongst themselves. The sign at the front asked us to wait to be seated. There was no greeting whatsoever as we stood there for minutes. One person from our group had to go to the back and find someone. Our waitress was great. Friendly and accurate. The restaurant smelled a bit off. I'm assuming it's the seafood. Still enough to make a few in our group gag. Overall, I would never return here and would never recommend. Shut this place down.

Yelp
Great service - food was average. It's not a place I would go back to or recommend but the staff were fantastic.

Yelp
First time checking out this bar and they have a really nice, big patio. But I was disappointed that during the happy hour it's $1 oyster/$7 pint but there's a catch to it. It's 6 oysters per drink. No where it says that. It was very misleading. On top of that, we only ordered 1 dozen of oysters and Greek fried took almost half an hour to come out.

Yelp
Grabbed the feast for two and a few mezes for takeout. Everything was packaged and labelled neatly so you knew what went with what. Here are my thoughts on the food: Chicken wings - the dill yogurt was such a good pairing for this. Simply delicious! Calamari - crispy and not too oily! Three dips - this was actually my favourite, I just loved the consistency and taste of each of the dips (they go good with just about anything, the pita, sourdough bread and I even dipped them with some extra veggies I had!) Feast for 2 - the pork was nicely grilled and tasted flavourful. The feta fries were so addictive, I finished them all by myself (they are similar to really thick cut homemade chips) The staff were very pleasant and ordering and pick up were quick and easy with no hassles! I would definitely recommend ordering this to enjoy at home for a hockey/basketball game night viewing party (by yourself or with friends)!

Yelp
Bar Neon is my new favorite happy hour spot. We came here on a Friday evening for the dollar oysters and five dollar beers. The five dollar beers even includes a selection of Beau's which firmly places Bar Neon at number 1 for my list of happy hour spots. Cheap oysters and organic beer (did you know Beau's Lug Tread is organic?), can it really get any better? At Bar Neon, it can. The patio at the back of the bar had great vibes with friendly servers. Service was quick, and the food (we recommend the Feta Fries) amazing. Everything I am looking for in a happy hour spot is complete at Bar Neon. Now, if I could just move a little closer to Bar Neon so I could go every day...

Yelp
Me and my friends had a very bad experience at Bar neon tonight with the server (yellow stripe top with braided hair) , the food is pretty ok and the decor is cute, but the server who took our order was extremely rude and unprofessional. She was rushing us to order and show little to none patience, during the meal we were asked to move table to accommodate a bigger group,(this is totally understandable, but just a bit strange) and when we finished our food we were not sure to get another round of drinks or not and she kinda just hushed us to pay. I've worked at service industry for the past 8 years with low to high end brands, but this is the first time I've encountered such bad experience. Everyone else who brought our food was amazing tho, i guess it's our bad luck to get assigned with that server who looked after us. I totally understand everyone will have good and bad days, but an established restaurant like such should not tolerate such behaviours, and especially for a first time diner at Bar Neon, that's very disappointing.

Yelp
The menu definitely implies that there will a 'large plate' chefs vegetarian special that would be on par with a beef burger/with fries or a lamb kofta. So I was shocked when it was fried pickles and asparagus. Not even close to a large plate or meal. The server just made the excuse that everything was more tapas style. Except, the chefs vegetarian special is supposed to be a 'large plate'. Pretty disappointing. I wouldn't recommend bringing your vegetarian friends here for food. They did have one or two veg pizzas but nothing without dairy. We were also seated in an area that was under a deck and in the rain this area gets quite wet. We had ordered some of the dips with pita and so much water was dripping on our table that the bread got wet. The server was really put off when we asked for one replacement pita and a possible change of seat since we were essentially sitting in the rain. Another server eventually let us move seats to the indoors and from there service was better. I might go back for drinks if I was in the area.

Yelp
Cute hole in the wall bar, and great ambiance. Came here for the buck-a-shuck oysters, and while the flavors and condiments are decent, the oysters were a bit lacking in size. Ordered a pitch of sangria, wasn't quite for me but my friends enjoyed it.

Yelp
Really delicious Greek-inspired snacks with a fun outdoor patio to hang out in! I've been here several times and the food and cocktails are always great. They have rotating seasonal dips that come with their homemade pita bread which is absolutely delicious. Their pizza is also a hit and great to share with another person. I usually order a few small plates to share for the table and have found that's the best way to do it. I recently ordered the mixed platter and was a little underwhelmed with the portion size for the cost but the flavors were good nonetheless. I would recommend the horiatiki, chicken wings, and dips!

Yelp
My husband and I were staying off of Bloor Street and decided to walk around and have dinner at the first place that piqued our interest. Cue, Bar Neon. We noticed that at a time where a lot of places weren't boasting many patrons, Bar Neon was relatively busy. You could read some menu items listed on a neon board from the street, which looked very tasty. The inside had a cool vibe; definitely small but organized well with good ambiance. There is apparently an outdoor area too, but it was closed for a family function. I can see dance parties happening in the bar/restaurant area pretty often after a good meal (they have a disco ball). Staff was friendly and knowledgeable about drinks and food. For drinks, my husband had the house red wine (quite good), and I went with the Bourbon Snap (divine). We ordered a few different dishes to share, as so many items looked good - apologies in advance for not recalling the actual names as I don't know any Greek. We ended up going with: (1) the dip trio (one was spicy feta with pepper, another was eggplant and the third was cheese and honey); (2) lamb on a stick with varying sides; and (3) a leek and dandelion phyllo. All the food was excellent! Would most definitely eat here again and would recommend it as well.

Yelp
They have a really cute patio, perfect for date night! We came here just in time for happy hour/ buck-a-shuck, so we ordered a dozen. They serve the standard Malpeques, which smelled and tasted fresh. They were not fishy at all. Nice! We also ordered two pints of beer ($5 each! whaaaat?), and the feta fries. It was actually a lot of food for two people. The fries were a little greasy towards the bottom and pretty salty at the top, but they were really good overall. We definitely over-ordered for our first bar-crawl stop, but I think it was all really good. Can't wait to try some other things on the menu. The servers were so chill. Will be back for sure!

Yelp
This is a rare gem in this neighbourhood. Great atmosphere, great staff and everyone feels welcome. I love the food as well. I always come back!

Yelp
Four point five stars to be exact. We first dropped in here a while ago for a quick beer en-route to a dinner engagement down the street. We loved the cheap pints for happy hour but also really liked the look of the place and made a note to return. We finally got around to that a couple of days ago and we were not disappointed. It was a nice day and we took our platters buck-a-shuck oysters on the back patio. The service was great, the beer selection to our taste and happy hour a deal. We had a selection from the menu as well and the food was solid. The place has a great vibe. It is nicely done up but unpretentious. The staff are chill and chatty (at the same time). We got there pretty early and had a choice of tables but by the time we wobbled out into the early evening, it was hopping. Go early, go often.

Greg S.

Yelp
Times may be tough, but this place is overpriced for the substandard experience. $28 for a mixed grill with a few absolutely pitiful fragments of meat tasted like straight up highway robbery. Many staff with clearly no experience or training who know nothing about their own menu or drinks they serve, that similarly speak only fragments of English. $15 for a mocktail? That's what they charge at the Four Seasons, while this place is one - the season of your own discontent.
google avatar

Itanni B.

Yelp
I was excited to check out their happy hour (offered every day from 5-7) because I'm obsessed with oysters and ordered 18 oysters for $1 each. I also ordered calamari and beer. Sadly the oysters were average - small and extra salty (I think the salt is served on fell onto the oysters). I also found the calamari over-seasoned and chewy. Their patio was quaint with a decent amount of seating and the service was good. I saw many people order the dips, so I'll try one of those next time and skip the oysters and calamari.
google avatar

Ashley H.

Yelp
De-li-cious! I can't even type. But if you want to know what I got???? Here goes! *Oysters *Saganaki Bites *Burger and Feta Fries Sooo good!

Paul B.

Yelp
Great spot with a fantastic beer selection, which keeps me coming back! The only downside is there's really limited options for vegans here, would love to see some more!
google avatar

Wilma R.

Yelp
I had the Calamari and Feta Fries. Calamari was really chewy and came with tsaziki sauce. The feta fries were round, fried potato slices tossed in herbs and oil with feta cheese grated all over it. The dish portions were enough to fill my friend and I, as we shared both. Food was good and service was friendly, but the place is super tight. Getting up to go to the washroom was a hassle because we would bump the tables next to us. Our table was also a little small and I ended up taking the candle that was on the table and placing it aside (on the bench next to me) so we could have more room and to assure that we wouldn't drop anything due to lack of space. Overall, a cute lil place (as long as you consider little to be cute) with great food!
google avatar

Heather C.

Yelp
This place is a nice local haunt. They have a great happy hour special where drafts are 5$ each with buck-a-shuck oysters! As other reviewers have mentioned, service is slow on account of there only being one server and a tiny kitchen. However, if you're in no rush, the back patio is really cozy and beers are cold. The oysters come with lemons, mignonette, horseradish and hot sauce (if you want) and they're small, but good. The burger with feta fries are good. The bun is a different kind of bread, that is crispier ad still nice and the patty actually tastes like meat. The feta fries are more like slices of fried potato with sprinkled cheddar.and a token piece of feta, but still tasty. I would definitely come back fro the back patio on a hot summer day :)

Shelly T.

Yelp
This cute little place has both indoor and outdoor seating. It was a nice day, so I decided to sit outside. I love their patio! Service was good, and food came quickly. I ordered a glass of house red and a lamb skewer dish. The food tasted really good, but I'd say the portions are sort of on the small side. So if you're really hungry, I'd suggest ordering two things. I'd come back to try their zuchinni fries next time!

Yelp
For full disclosure: a pal and I came here on the weekend when we couldn't get into Seoul Shakers because they had an hour and a half wait. However, that was totally okay because let's be honest: Bar Neon is a Bloordale tried and true treasure. The mixed cocktail list is super extensive (with drinks ranging from $13-16) and this place has one of the best Paper Planes I've tasted in the West End. Yes, you can quote me on that. On this evening, my friend tested out their Bourbon Snap ($13) while I decided to be basic and just have a cider. The bar has a good vibe, which is great for pals catching up. What I would recommend is ordering from the kitchen. Each of us got a dip (mine was labneh dip with wildflower honey and my pal had tzatziki) which were served with toasted pita breads sprinkled with sea salt. Between the drinks, music and friend vibes - Bar Neon is the perfect spot. The only downside to the entire evening: it's winter and they have a curtain at the door. For some reason, as people entered and exited the space, people wouldn't close the curtain, therefore, making it freezing in the entire place. It would be good for there to be signage on the doors because people just didn't care or realize. Saw some folks in the front wearing their jackets the entire night. Yikes. Otherwise, love the space and can't wait until the summer to enjoy their HUGE back patio.

Yelp
I am going to update my review for Bar Neon, because it was written in the depths of January. Find me a Canadian who isn't a little bit bitchier in the winter, and I'll question their humanity. Though I maintain I have bad luck with their wines by the glass, these are the things I love about Bar Neon: +Their massive back patio with ample seating +Their fun wall signage +Their obliging and funny servers +Decent beer list +Excellent sangria (bad wine is A OK in sangria) +Their above average snack selection (people go nuts for the wings)
google avatar

Yelp
This was a fun little bar we discovered within walking distance of our rental house. Quirky, fun environment with plenty of seating, plenty of selection for beverages and food. We had just eaten dinner, so we only ordered drinks. The staff was super friendly and attentive! Loved the atmosphere and the PRIDE acceptance!!! Reasonable prices. I loved the floor in the bathroom, although getting down the stairs was a bit tricky for my knees. Definitely not a restroom area for anyone much taller than my 5'4"....the basement ceiling is quite low. I would LOVE to have a watering hole like this closer to home!
google avatar

Yelp
Last night was my third time at bar neon and I can say my experiences have been consistently good. Of course being a west coaster it has been the happy hour oyster deal that makes it a first choice but last night we also tried some of their other greek taps.... Warm olives (that lacked a little warmth) but tasted good, calamari which was excellent and when our friends arrived we ordered more, and lastly my new favourite...feta frites. See the attached photo. Service was good and as the place filled up they, thankfully, turned the music down a bit so we could hear each other speak. I look forward to spending time on the back patio whe the weather warms up!!
google avatar

Maxi M.

Yelp
Sparkly decor. Cheery atmosphere. Delicious bourbon cocktails - Bourbon Negroni y'all! Yummy snacks - I had the mushroom Tosta. The people serving, bartending and cooking did so with a perfect balance of friendliness and care. The music was fantastic and loud enough to enjoy but not so loud to hinder conversation. A perfect spot to warm up on an icy night. and enjoy the company of good friends Plus - the toilet floors are paved with pennies!

Yelp
Tonight was our first time at Bar Neon and our first time out on a restaurant patio during Covid. All safety measures were in place and the service was excellent - young servers with great attitudes and pleasant dispostions. The buck-a-shuck (happy hour) Malpeque oysters were nicely presented and delicious. Calamari was average. Drinks were very fine and the patio setting rustic and comfortable with lots of space between tables. We will definitely come back again.
google avatar

Jennifer C.

Yelp
what's not to like about buck-a-shuck oysters and a sunny patio? epitome of local haunt vibes, this place is perfect for eating a weird amount of shellfish with your pals. service can be prettyyyy slow during happy hour. the servers seem to give no cares, which could be infuriating, but they're so sweet that their ambivalence is kinda charming? idk. maybe (definitely) i'm more emo generous when things are cheap and i've had 2 ciders.
google avatar

Ash P.

Yelp
First time here and I wasn't sure to expect. I had read reviews and so I decided to check it out. There is a lovely outdoor patio, but get there early to avoid waiting for a table. We ordered the calamari, sardines and pita and dip platter. All was tasty, but the calamari was a small portion for $12.00. As an avid calamari eater, I've been to places where you get what you pay for; a decent sized dish. Another thing I wasn't fond off was that our wine was served in regular drinking glasses. I'm not a prude but it would be nice to have wine served in proper wine glasses. I won't return but I would suggest this place as a first time try out.
google avatar

Yelp
I don't know why it had taken me so long to finally come here. I came here on the Labor Day Monday, in search of a patio, pint and food. Bar Neon delivered. Great drink selection, especially a solid small draft selection of 6-7 beers plus a cider on tap. Also featuring a happy hour between 5-7pm for $5 pints and $1 oysters. The menu is Greek-inspired featuring Greek tapas, dips and dished to choose from. I enjoyed the chicken souvlaki with salad with a few pints on the patio. It was perfection. I can't wait to come back for some more drinks! Great neighbourhood find!
google avatar

Lauren B.

Yelp
This place is okay. Although they have a neat little back patio (with firepit things) that may lure me back here in the warmer months, I wouldn't rush back otherwise. We came for the happy hour buck-a-shuck oysters on a Sunday. The place was pretty dead but it still took a super long time for chef to shuck our dozen bivalves. They were big, meaty suckers...and not too shabby. The menu is Greek themed so we tried: Spanakopita - spinach and cheese in a deep-fried phyllo; just okay. Saganaki - fried cheese...not great Beet salad with yogurt dressing and crushed pistachios (not really a Greek dish, but still)...ho hum. So basically, the food was meh. Cocktails were much better. Music was great. I'd come here to drink, if anything.

Yelp
Came here to eat before going to a show at Burdock. Had never heard of it before, but it looked warm and inviting with a good crowd on a stormy evening. Hipster place (not that that's a bad thing). 730 on a Tuesday, with a couple of tables to spare. Service was a bit spotty but friendly. Food was really good. Had the burger with feta fries. The patty was cooked just right (a little under medium), and it had this great bun (though I couldn't tell you what kind). Will definitely be ordering again in the future. Tried a guest tap (some hoppy IPA) and my friend had the seasonal tap (a porter). Both were really good but I forget the names. Will be back next time I'm in the neighbourhood, and will definitely try some of their cocktails as they looked good. Other notes: free WiFi but you have to ask for the password. Tables were a bit wobbly and close together. Don't sit near the door on a cold night.
google avatar

Bria J.

Yelp
We've been coming here for a couple of years now, and it's only getting better with age. Although Sam's no longer around, Barry, Laurel and Kelly are the sweetest people in the neighbourhood. Barry's no BS- attitude and killer margarita skills also help. There is still the $5 pint and buck-a-shuck oyster happy hours, but 1/2 price bottles of wine after 7 on Mondays and 1/2 price wings on Tuesday keep it interesting. The menu continues to evolve with mostly successful results. In addition to the solid wings, cheese board and calamari, there are some real treats. The grilled radicchio was a pleasant surprise, and this is the only place where I've willingly eaten Okra more than once.

Yelp
This cute little spot on Bloor has won my admiration, exclusively based on it's backyard patio. This area seriously lacks patios so I was very happy to find this and now include in within my summertime haunts. They have around 5 different beers and 1 cider on tap. $5.50 pints during happy hour! Small food menu including oysters, shareable dips, and a couple of entree sized options as well... But really, its just the patio that will keep me coming back.
google avatar

Arian A.

Yelp
Asked the bartender for two of her favourite drink, they decided to make a mixed drink that was apparently $12 dollars so the bill racked up to $24 without telling me. Obvious cash grab.. $24 For two drinks. Wasn't worth a confrontation so I left, I will never recommend this bar to anyone nor will I ever return.
google avatar

Yelp
Love their buck a shuck! Ends at 7. Gets busy. Remember to reserve a table. Good drinks and food.

Yelp
Dinner at the bar, Mar 14. Loved the $1 oysters (5pm-7pm); had 18 by myself. Would have had 18 more if I hadn't arrived at 6:45pm. Loved the cocktail menu. Had a bourbon sour and an old fashioned. They burn the orange peel with a lighter to extract more oil. Gotta try this at home. Liked but quickly tired of the Greek tapas menu. Had the spanakopita, pork souvlaki, bread and dips, and meatballs. Tasted good but we got bored with this menu pretty fast and didn't feel like ordering anything else. They said they will change menus in the spring so looking forward to that. But I'll go back anytime between 5pm and 7pm for the dollar oysters and cocktails.
google avatar

Maddie R.

Yelp
Great atmosphere, Great service and great food. We ordered the duck confit flat bread with caramelized onion, potato and sage. Quite delicious. Only odd thing was the soundtrack- N'Sync, Cher, Rob Thomas- very 1999. Will be back!

Leo R.

Yelp
Loved this place! Went there for the first time to try out their Happy Hour, and man am I glad that I did. From 5-7 you can get $5 pints and buck a shuck for oysters. The oysters were really fresh, which was great. We also ordered the olive tapanad, which I highly recommend. My boyfriend ordered a burger that he said was delish, and his feta fries were super tasty. The service was really good. The waiter that welcomed us in was friendly and knowledgeable. Quick staff and fast food considering the place was so busy. Loved the decor, and the music was perfect for the vibe. All and all, I have nothing bad to say about this place; except that they're so good that I may have to go there everyday haha.

Davis F.

Yelp
Amazing atmosphere on a Saturday night. Loved the music. Great for a date. Cocktails were good. Odd but unique food menu in my opinion. Tried their sausage. It was ok. Go to Bar Neon on a Friday or Saturday night. It's a good hang.

Yelp
Ahh... Bar Neon, all the wonderful things I could say. I've spent most of my summer days on their back patio taking advantage of their daily happy hour specials. Great drinks, oysters and Greek-Inspired tapas to which I've had almost everything on their menu and it's always a 10/10. A little heat and a lot of flavor. Very cool vibes for a night out with the girls, a "hip" place to bring your parents, a good first/second/third date or a great place to sit and read a book.
google avatar

Lauren D.

Yelp
Another patio in my neighbourhood I didn't know existed! Hurrah! There are still, I think, at least 30 days of patio sitting in this city's future. Maybe more if we're lucky. So, I will very likely be returning to this surprisingly large, wooden bench laden, warmly lit home of beer consumption again before year's end.
google avatar

Xenia L.

Yelp
Great staff--attentive, casual, engaging. Awesome cocktails. I love blending the bourbon and amaretto sours, which come topped with the traditional egg white. Their daily buck a shuck is great, but orders can take a while to make it from pad to plate. ps. Love the collaged walls and their neon blinking last call sign.

Yelp
THE VENUE: Went for a late dinner Thursday March 29. Great atmosphere. Hipster chic. I was over dressed as I wasn't wearing 3 days of facial growth, skinny jeans and a toque. My ultra suede blazer earned me some "who's the square" looks from the patrons. Nothing more than a passing 'one of these things is not like the other' review. At no time did I sense any animosity. I was probably nothing more than a passing curiosity. The staff/owner/chef are 30 somethings who seem to really like their job. The service was personable, fun and organic. (3 different servers saw to our needs, one of which was the chef) THE FOOD: The bacon wrapped dates = orgasm Profiterole Croque-Monsieur = unique and delicious. Salted cod bites with aioli = great texture and taste contrast. Oysters were fresh and expertly shucked with great traditional and tweaked toppings. The Tosta we had was the duck. It was good but paled when compared to the smaller tapas selections. All in all definitely worth a trip. If you are over 30 google 'hipster dufus' for style points.

Yelp
I really wanted to like this place but I just can't. I came with a handful of friends on Saturday night just before midnight. The place was packed which seemed to be a good sign. We made our way to the back, ditched our coats and tried to get a drink at the bar. The guy behind the bar was just standing there so we asked to get some drinks. Apparently this guy was a food guy and not a drinks guy and had just finished closing down the station. No big deal, we moved down and tried to order again. There were people sitting on stools at the bar and because the place was so packed there was no discernible way to get a drink. You sort of just have to reach over the people sitting at the bar and try to get the bartenders attention. The music was good but it was so packed you couldn't dance if you wanted to. The bathrooms were nice and clean. Just watch out for the ceiling. While many places have low ceilings in the basement I had to fully tilt my head sideways to get down the hall. Overall I had fun with my friends, but I just don't get the appeal of this place. Maybe it's a different experience earlier in the evening when they're serving food. Yelp
i'be been here twice for the happy hour. The oyster was very fresh. But they did count one more dozen of the oyster at every time we check out. They correct it after we pointed out. But just want to remind other guests...
