The Soft Serve Map - New York - The Infatuation

"There are only two soft serve flavors at this small spot in Nolita - oolong and black tea - and both taste strongly of those ingredients. They also serve boba tea here, which is relevant because it means you can get boba as an ice cream topping. And you should." - hannah albertine, emma, bryan kim, katherine lewin, hillary reinsberg, matt tervooren

Having Bar Pa Tea at our celebration was just wonderful! They were my favorite bubble tea shop when they had a physical store in NYC so when we started our planning for our celebration I knew I had to find them! They are very reasonably priced and Patrick was SO open to what we wanted in order to accommodate our guests. For example, different milk options, cold vs warm, caffeine free options, etc. We were also able to taste the bubble tea ahead of times and it was such a fun experience for us. The team set up and break down was very smooth and our guests absolutely LOVED it! Everyone was raving about the experience.

I thought it would be gimmicky, but it tasted good! The place was pretty popular with people checking out the hype. However, the inside of the ice cream is hollow, not filled with soft serve. It was disappointing that they decided to cut costs like that; nonetheless, it was tasty. Black tea soft serve is surprisingly good.

Love the drinks here they're always high quality. The staff was also extremely friendly. Sometimes it gets really packed but it is worth it for a 5-10 minute wait max. Ordered iron goddess and brown sugar latte floats and they came out beautifully but a little on the pricey side. Atmosphere was really nice and modern with some art hanging on the walls. Would definitely recommend if you're in the area looking for a quality bubble tea.

I waited 35 minutes for my soft serve with tapioca, and it wasn’t even very crowded. Eventually, I saw a worker line up cups with tapioca but did not add in the soft serve for 15 minutes. When I asked about it, she said my matcha lemonade was being made. I told her I was waiting for soft serve. She said it would be another 10 minutes. I was late for a meeting and told her I wanted to cancel the order as I had to go. She then rushed to the machine to add the soft serve. It would have been good had they not run out of regularly sized tapioca, and if it hadn’t been sitting out for quite some time. The ice cream melts fast and I had to gulp it down before rushing to get a cab. They are incredibly understaffed, especially when there is a crowd, and the workers are also very young. If you decide to come, be sure you leave 30 minutes or so.

Love the soft serve 🍦 and it is one of their hot products as it has a very aromatic smell and tastes really good. The bubble tea is great and the way I like it. KEEP in mind that if you are the type that loves sugar, drinks soda and bubble tea frequently, you may need to ask them to add a bit extra (to accommodate your sugary palette). They don’t use corn syrup so you are getting real sugar. Personally for me, the sugar level is right on. The ambience is great and love the design of the store. No very distracting and very artistic and above all, very fashionable. Little tip for those that complaint about waiting... when a business is “hot” specially in NYC ( a city of 8+ million people), you should expect a wait (same at other places that are hot and sell even inferior bubble tea). The longest wait that I had at this place was 5-8 minutes, but was surprise that it wasn’t too long specially with the crowds. That says a lot about the staff and their ability to serve their customers. I read some reviews and noticed that people compare them to gong cha, coco, or boba guys. Funny thing is that this place is on a different class of its own. It is fresh and doesn’t use powders or corn syrup. All other places are very similar in price, but you don’t get the quality or freshness that you will get here. If you are new to bubble tea, I recommend maybe the green tea grape fruit or matcha lemonade. If you have never ever had any asian drinks, don’t be afraid. It is just tea and juice and healthier than that bucket of soda you probably get at the movies.

When we heard rumours of a place offering Black Tea Ice Cream with pearls, we knew we had to visit. Could it be better than regular bubble tea? Well, after having both the ice cream and their bubble tea, we can say that it is spectacular! Definitely hits the spot if you are craving both at the same time! The tea flavor was one of the best we've ever had. Thank you @barpatea!

A lovely, modern, and ultra-hip tea room right near Petrosino Square, on Kenmare Street, and a perfect spot for a quick pick-me-up tea or coffee. The drinks are served as lattes, or regular without milk, most of them hot or cold, with or without bubbles, medium or large. My jasmin oolong tea had a wonderful aroma, was not sweetened, and the bubbles, medium-sized, tasted great. The atmosphere inside the tea room is a mix of ultra cool with sophisticated girl-mod flair, the space is painted in many shades of white accentuated by pink graphics. I really adore the neon script sign by on the interior wall. It reads as a perfect motivation to continue on in one’s downtown adventures.
