Bar Paradiso - Review - Porta Romana - Milan - The Infatuation

"Bar Paradiso is the undeniably cool wine bar in Porta Romana, especially for anybody who works in the fashion industry. Basically, if your job title is “Creative Director” and you love explaining what that entails, you should probably stop by for a bottle of 2001 Brunello. It’s shoebox-sized, but being among the crowd that spills onto the street with a glass in hand is part of the fun. When we hear about rare wines sourced from around the world paired with freshly sliced speck and scamorza paninis, our ears perk up like a dog who just heard the word “walk.” They do an occasional pop-up series called Bar Paradiso & Friends, so you might catch something special, like tacos from a Paris-based Mexican chef or a special menu from a London arts club." - Julia Savasta

They did a pop-up collab with Lucia Alimentari in NYC, and seem like dope people. Wine and small snacks on the menu: focaccia, mortadella, Italian pickled vegetables, ciauscolo sausage. Looks like a cool space.

This was my favorite meal in Milan. The small plates were a great way to sample various dishes. We ordered a bottle of wine and our server brought several options at different price points. I’m still dreaming of the butter and anchovy. They take reservations, but if you’re unable to get on… highly recommend getting there right when it opens.

This place gives cool natural wine bar vibes, and did not disappoint in that sense. Small and intimate, great lighting and self conscious crowd. The food however was more to be wished for. We tried some cold cuts, salads and one of their hot sandwiches. Everything was ok, but nothing groundbreaking. Would recommend this place for atmosphere and people watching, but perhaps not for a gastronomical feast.

All the staff are super friendly, hospitable and knowledgeable on good food and wine. Everything we ordered was fantastic and we got to eat things never tried before. Saro, one of the owners, was one of the nicest people I met in Milan and he made sure we enjoyed the food and wine.

Located in Porta Romana, Bar Paradiso is a stylish, retro-inspired wine bar offering a curated selection of 500+ natural wines and delicious small plates like ciauscolo cheese plate selection, and focaccia. Run by two friends from Marche and Sicily, it blends warmth, quality, and a relaxed vibe. A hidden cellar space adds to its charm. Perfect for aperitivo or a low-key night out.

Sometimes the fame does not correspond with the reality. Small, ambiente place with nice service, esspecially for vine reccomendation. Small, but tasety dishes. Unfortunately our booking was not treated properly so only outside table was avaliable (during the heatwaves day it was dissaster). An dissapointment in the end:(

The portions were too small to our liking. The server forgot some of our dishes. Didnt tell us the price of the wine untill it was served and we asked for it.

We found this place by randomly scrolling through google maps looking for a good place to drink some good wine and we weren’t disappointed,! Gloria the waitress was so kind and thoughtful to describe us every wine they had and she delivered, she recommended us some of the best local wine I have ever had. Andrea one of the owner also recommended us some of the finest red wines we ever drank. I just want to say my thanks to them both and we will come there soon every time we visit Milano.
