"Bar Roubaix, the cycling-themed European bistro in Columbia Heights, kicks off its Mardis Gras pop-up tonight with a 50 percent discount on its new menu and happy hour prices from 5 p.m. until close. Dubbed Sim’s Creole Kitchen, the pop-up will serve Louisiana staples such as red beans and rice, jambalaya, grilled oysters, and gumbo. The food is based on recipes chef Sim Bates brought with him from New Orleans, and the pop-up is scheduled to run through Fat Tuesday on March 5." - Gabe Hiatt

"Cyclists have a new hangout in Bar Roubaix, a sporty spot from nightlife vets Ian and Eric Hilton that opened in Columbia Heights at the end of 2017. Find bike tire chandeliers, a bike maintenance station, a pool table, and even a cycling arcade simulation game inside." - Jamie Liu

Great beer selection, with lots of Belgian-style ales that are a refreshing departure from the IPA-dominated lists you'll find at most bars currently. Enjoyed the shareable street food-style small plates-- knish, arancini, and frites really hit the spot at a reasonable price for the area. Staff are friendly and helpful. The bicycle theme is fun without being overdone, with pool and goldsprints for patrons craving some activities along with their beer. The bike rack curtain wall around the patio is a nice touch, can't wait until it warms up a bit!

Gorgeous neighborhood gem! We went with a large group for a work happy hour. Great beer list and tasty European street food style snacks!! Everything Is super sleek and I LOVE THE LARGE PATIO WITH BIKE RACKS!

The food was fantastic - we especially loved the mussels and zapiekanki. The service was exceptionally friendly and attentive. The only thing I'm bummed about is that we're from out of town and can't come here often!

It was cool. I came in here because I was in the area and decided to eat at my old bar, Acre 121. But now it's Bar Roubaix, which is a very different place. I had the potato pancakes, which were great, but it is worth noting that the menu is very limited and in keeping with its theme is very focused on Eastern European cuisine, so German food, Polish and such. But not a wide selection. Also, $8 for what was essentially 3 large hashbrowns and some applesauce just feels a little wrong to me even if it tastes good. It is far, far more bar than restaurant. That being said, it was also trivia night when I went and that was fun. Plus the drink prices aren't exorbitant. I'd come here again for when I just want to grab a beer and chill. The beer list was extensive and the bartender was very attentive.

Yummy treats from crab and shrimp balls, chicken wings to King cake. Great New Orleans style pop up kitchen. Super delicious and strong cocktails. Would be on the 5 star list if the service was faster. Need to come on a regular day (not on Fat Tuesday). I'm sure I will because their appetizers were scrumptious and their happy hour prices can't be beat.

Great mix of eastern france sort of inspired menu with a slightly new orleans sense about it. The selection of $4 beers on their oktoberfest menu is an excellent deal. Tempted to give 4 stras due to the noisey street but Bar Roubaix got creative on the sidewalk seating and after all it's in the of Columbia Heights which you have to love!

The potato pancakes are tastey and so was the curry dip for the french fries. There was an extensive beer list, however the food menu was small. The service was friendly and fast.

Went for their mother’s day drag brunch and was SORELY disappointed. The service was atrocious, the mimosas were flat and the food mediocre. Our waiter was the worst. He had to be flagged down before he came to us, in spite of being there with only a handful of people at the restaurant. Overall very unsatisfactory.
