Bar Sinizki is the picturesque all-day café in Atwater Village where you can savor Eastern European comfort food and classic cocktails in a charming setting.
"Bar Sinizki specializes in the kind of European fantasy that would make Rick Steves jealous: checkerboard floors, copper tile ceilings, a lot of white marble, and people who look like they take month-long holidays every summer enjoying brown butter pierogies and Fernet spritzes. The good news is it can easily be your fantasy, too. This bubbly all-day bistro in Atwater from the Elf Cafe people is walk-in only, so elbow up to the bar or find a table on the leafy patio where you can debate Sartre versus Camus over steak frites until last call at midnight." - brant cox, sylvio martins, cathy park
"Atwater Village’s already-vibrant lunch scene got even better when Bar Sinizki opened. Smoked trout and chicken liver tartines, along with daily soup specials paired with pickles and house-made sauerkraut, make for light and flavorful midday meals. The small-ish interior only has a few tables and bar seating, so the place works best when the weather’s nice and you can sit on the sprawling sidewalk patio. If lunch requires a wine spritz, cocktail, or beer, that’s also a possibility." - Matthew Kang
"Burgers may not be the first thing that comes to mind when thinking of an all-day Eastern European cafe. Still, alongside a menu of pierogies and kanapka z tuńczykiem (pan bagnat), Atwater Village’s Bar Sinizki is serving one of LA’s best new burgers. The burger at Bar Sinizki is served bistro-style on a plush brioche bun, with a thick slice of griddled onions and melted cheese on top. On a nice day, the charming patio is a perfect choice to pair lunch with some sunshine." - Rebecca Roland
"This all-day cafe in Atwater Village from the Dune folks next door is ripped straight from the Euro travel brochure of our dreams: couples chat at marble tables snacking on Lyonnaise tartines while a solo riesling drinker picks at brown butter pierogis on the leafy front patio, the latest Bret Easton Ellis novel in hand. But as transporting as Sinizki’s checkerboard floors, copper tile ceiling, and Fernet spritzes are, its well-done bistro staples like steak frites, herby salads with feta, and a juicy mayo–and-ketchup bar burger that give this neighborhood spot staying power. You’ll want some of those pierogies, but so does everyone else—get here soon after dinner service starts at 5pm before they sell out." - brant cox, sylvio martins, jess basser sanders
"Nancy Meyers couldn’t conjure up a more cinematic date spot than Bar Sinizki. This all-day bistro in Atwater Village feels ripped from an early aughts European postcard (back when people still sent postcards.) There’s a shrub-filled sidewalk patio and a retro bar area with checkerboard floors and copper-tiled ceilings. You and your date will sip Boulevardiers while snacking on trout tartines and brown butter perogies. They don’t accept reservations, but even during prime time, you won’t have to wait more than a few minutes. If there is a line, walk down to Baby Battista for a quick glass of wine to start the night. " - brant cox, sylvio martins
