BAR SUR Tango Show

Fantastic experience. The performers were phenomenal and they engaged us with deliberate looks. They danced mere inches from our table. Just a wonderful experience. The wine was good. Service was excellent. Acoustics and music sounded terrific. Great way to experience a tango show.

You go to this place for the Tango Show not for the food! And the show was very intimate and nice, I was looking for a show without many macro productions than the others in Buenos Aires. This was the perfect one. Tango should be presented this way, not like a circus show like the other does. Service and attention was very good, glasses of wine were very pricy during the show, but is valid: intimate shows are that way, don't expect cheap prices.

I was looking for a more authentic tango experience that didn’t require a commitment to a 3 course meal and stumbled upon Bar Sur after exploring La Boca and San Telmo and it was exactly what I was looking for, and more! As we walked up the whole vibe felt high end and exclusive while still welcoming and inviting. We were lucky to get a last minute spot and could choose between the show only or dinner + show options. Since we just came from empanadas we opted for just the show. Walking in the bar itself is beautiful and the staff were all super attentive and welcoming. It’s an intimate setting which I loved, and the staff was really exceptional. The musicians came out first and dazzled us with their talents and then the dancers appeared, in great character, amazing outfits and moves that tell a whole love story. The dancers were captivating, and there were 2 singers throughout the show who blew us away. The founder of Bar Sur was even there and we were able to take photos with the dancers. The whole experience was magical and I’d highly recommend booking in advance to make sure you get to enjoy this special experience!

This is the absolute opposite of a tourist trap. You find yourself at an old, authentic, minute tango bar, with no stage. The crowd is MINIMAL (I counted less than 15 guests total) and the dancers & singers perform their numbers at the center of where the guests sit. The (live) music was spectacular, the singers were inches away from making me bawl, and the dancing was nothing short of PERFECT. I can never ever recommend this enough. If you come to Buenos Aires and not see this show, you might as well not come at all

I had the incredible experience in the Bar Sur Tango Show, and it was nothing short of magical. Set in an intimate, historic venue, the performance transported me straight into the heart of Buenos Aires’ tango soul. The dancers moved with such passion and elegance that I was genuinely moved. Every step told a story—of love, longing, and fierce intensity.

This was my first tango show and it was an incredible experience! Very close up and personal. The food, wine, and staff were incredible; and the dancers were absolutely unbelievable! I recommend to anyone anytime, but also the perfect place for a date night. 10/10

We've nothing else to compare it with, but we have just had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the show. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The venue is ideal for a cosy, intimate experience, meaning you get a close view of the performance. Definitely to be recommended. Thank you for a wonderful evening.
