BAR SUR Tango Show

Bar Sur was suggested to us by a couple we met on Mendoza wine tour. We had already attended a Tango show at El Querendi earlier in the week which our group loved. We were told that Bar Sur was very small and the Tango dancers were within arms length. They weren’t kidding! The show was amazing and the dancers were very talented. The place is very small and you need to get there when it opens to secure a good table. There were 35 people in the audience that night and no one else could be squeezed in. As a matter of fact, our group of 6 were sat on bar stools across the back of the room where we blocked access to both bathrooms. We asked what we were supposed to do during the show when people needed the bathrooms and we were told we would have to move. That was not going to work for us and they changed the plan and used toilets back in the kitchen. That was the only negative but the show more than made up for it. The wait staff were also hospitable and provided friendly drink service and free snacks. Wine and drinks are a little expensive where it makes more sense to buy a bottle than 2 glasses of wine. We loved our show at Bar Sur. It was intimate, fun, and entertaining. The music was a big highlight, the band was great. The servers were attentive, and the dancers were extremely talented. My only wish is that there was more dancing. We would recommend others come here if they want a personal/intimate experience. The restaurant was easy to communicate with to get the reservations confirmed.

Such an amazing experience… drinks and appetizers were great but most of all the tango was so worth the money!!! I loved the show, such engagement and cool tricks, absolutely beautiful w the music as well! Completely recommend, thank you!

Absolutely incredible! The dancers are extremely impressive, and the experience was fantastic. Intimate and very well done. You are literally sitting next to the performance. The food is fine but the evening was exceptional! Never seen anything like it before. Highly recommend.

Bar Sur is an incredibly intimate place — there’s no elevated stage; the performers dance and sing right on the floor just a few feet away, which makes you feel like you’re part of the scene rather than just watching it. Even though we don’t speak Spanish, the passion in the music, singing, and dancing speaks for itself. If you’re looking for a traditional tango experience while in Buenos Aires, this is the place to go. The show lasts about an hour, and at the end you can even take photos with the dancers, which makes the night feel personal and unforgettable.

Fantastic experience. The performers were phenomenal and they engaged us with deliberate looks. They danced mere inches from our table. Just a wonderful experience. The wine was good. Service was excellent. Acoustics and music sounded terrific. Great way to experience a tango show.
