BAR SUR Tango Show

I was looking for a more authentic tango experience that didn’t require a commitment to a 3 course meal and stumbled upon Bar Sur after exploring La Boca and San Telmo and it was exactly what I was looking for, and more! As we walked up the whole vibe felt high end and exclusive while still welcoming and inviting. We were lucky to get a last minute spot and could choose between the show only or dinner + show options. Since we just came from empanadas we opted for just the show. Walking in the bar itself is beautiful and the staff were all super attentive and welcoming. It’s an intimate setting which I loved, and the staff was really exceptional. The musicians came out first and dazzled us with their talents and then the dancers appeared, in great character, amazing outfits and moves that tell a whole love story. The dancers were captivating, and there were 2 singers throughout the show who blew us away. The founder of Bar Sur was even there and we were able to take photos with the dancers. The whole experience was magical and I’d highly recommend booking in advance to make sure you get to enjoy this special experience!

This is the absolute opposite of a tourist trap. You find yourself at an old, authentic, minute tango bar, with no stage. The crowd is MINIMAL (I counted less than 15 guests total) and the dancers & singers perform their numbers at the center of where the guests sit. The (live) music was spectacular, the singers were inches away from making me bawl, and the dancing was nothing short of PERFECT. I can never ever recommend this enough. If you come to Buenos Aires and not see this show, you might as well not come at all

Amazing tango show in a historical part of town. Service was excellent and the show was amazing! The songs and tango were worth the price.

This was my first tango show and it was an incredible experience! Very close up and personal. The food, wine, and staff were incredible; and the dancers were absolutely unbelievable! I recommend to anyone anytime, but also the perfect place for a date night. 10/10

We've nothing else to compare it with, but we have just had a thoroughly enjoyable evening at the show. The staff were very friendly, efficient and helpful. The venue is ideal for a cosy, intimate experience, meaning you get a close view of the performance. Definitely to be recommended. Thank you for a wonderful evening.

This place is just amazing! With the ambience, awesome performers and musicians, you will feel like in a movie (and you don’t want it to end)! Everything is very professional, from people at the front door, waiters, to the show itself. You should definitely visit this place!

A totally mind blowing experience! If you are a tang lover, there is no other place in Buenos Aires than Bar Sur to see and listen to tango! This is THE REAL THING! The atmosphere, live music ensamble, distinguished dancers, good food, wine, old interior with history in the noble walls - everything! Bar Sur is a time machine which will transfer you back to the Golden Years of Tango in the 20- & 30-ties of the last century. What an unforgettable show! I will keep it in my memory for the rest of my life, an old dream of mine has come true! I'm deeply grateful to the Management for letting me take lots of amazing photos which I enclose herewith. I give Bar Sur my warmest recommendations - but be sure to book in time, it's quite hard to come in!

Perfect end to our trip to Buenos Aires. This is a must do - class, then drinks then Tango! The dancers were fantastic & service excellent. Bonus was the solos & live music.
