The new owners restored the hardwood ceiling and tile floor, while maintaining the menu of traditional dishes. Try the fumeiro (house-made smoked pork) with banana puree, the cheese curd served with green bean vinaigrette, and the pirão de leite (creamy milk and cassava porridge). Omg the food in this place is unreal! We tried the “coxinha de filé mignon” 😋, the banana da terra pure with fume pork and the carne de sol, everything was super tasty, even the little sauces they brought as a side. 10/10!

Went to Velho Espanha Bar e Cultura in Salvador with two friends we all had drinks, and they had full meals. I was sick with gastroenteritis and asked kindly for just a piece of bread. They brought it… and then charged me the full price of a pulled meat sandwich I never ordered or received. Sorry, but that’s just not right. They could’ve charged a extra or been fair but instead, they took advantage of someone who was visibly unwell. For a place that presents itself as progressive and inclusive, this was really disappointing.
