Bar Vendôme

The food was disgusting. My seafood pasta smelled very fishy and tasted old and fishy. I got a horrible stomach ache after eating it. The service was just as awful as the food. Had to ask 4 times for my drink, by the time they brought it, I was getting ready to leave. The waitress was unpleasant and rude. I also had concerns about the cleanliness, our plates and utensils looked dirty, they had clearly not been properly washed. There are far better places to eat in Paris. Don’t waste your time, patience and money at this garbage restaurant. Also, save your self the excruciating stomach pains. If I could give it zero stars I would.

Tucked in the heart of the opulent Ritz Carlton, Bar Vendôme offers a breakfast experience that very simply put is regal. The ambiance has a very classic Parisian charm with a lavish twist—towering ceilings, ornate chandeliers, and a sun-kissed greenhouse setting where I found myself basking in the soft glow of morning sunlight. The meal began with a delightful bakery basket, a trove of freshly baked flaky croissants, delicate pastries, and golden bread. Each bite a sumptuous reminder that Parisian baking is on another level when it comes to buttery goodness. As for the more substantial portion of breakfast, the eggs benedict with smoked salmon is a must-try. The poached eggs were paired with silky smoked salmon atop an english muffin that held its own. If you're craving something a bit sweeter, the traditional french toast with red berries will hit the spot and then some. Crispy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside, while the berries added a tangy sweetness that tied it all together. The orange juice and grapefruit juice were freshly squeezed, refreshing and bursting with flavor. The iced coffee was bold, smooth and the jolt needed to kickstart the day. The staff is attentive and courteous, ensuring that every detail of your dining experience is perfect and making you feel like a guest of honor. Overall, Bar Vendôme is setting a high standard in all facets for breakfast in Paris. The food is very good, the ambiance is luxurious, and the service is first class. It's a breakfast experience that will leave you paying for and feeling like royalty.

Our visit to Bar Vendôme began on a high note. The décor was stunning, the service attentive and we thoroughly enjoyed our meals. Everything seemed perfect until an unfortunate incident involving the maître d'hôtel marred the experience. While we were taking photos at our table, the maître d'hôtel abruptly cleared it without asking permission, even taking my coffee, which I hadn't finished. The abruptness and lack of courtesy were both shocking and disappointing, and completely spoiled the atmosphere we had been enjoying. When we raised the matter, he acknowledged that we were right and offered free drinks as compensation. While the gesture was appreciated, it felt inadequate. What we really needed was a sincere apology and a demonstration of empathy - a simple, genuine acknowledgment of the discomfort caused would have been far more meaningful than free drinks. This incident has left us with mixed feelings. We hope that the management will place an emphasis on training their staff to handle such situations with more tact and respect, ensuring that future guests have an experience that matches the high standards for which the establishment is known. Bar Vendôme is undoubtedly a beautiful venue with a refined ambiance and good cuisine, but we hope that such missteps do not undermine its otherwise stellar reputation.

Food is alright but service is terrible and disastrous. There are so many attendants walking here and there but no one noticed my glass was empty and not to mention actively refilled it for me. After finishing my main course ( spaghetti with roasted prawns) I was asked if I would like to have some dessert or drinks. After replying that I would like to see their dessert menu, I’ve been waiting for over 20 minutes but no one showed me the menu! At the end I just actively requested a latte and leave. I came here to celebrate my birthday but such terrible service ruined my happy mood. The restaurant is in Ritz hotel, not a general family-run one! Such low standard service just wasted my money and does not live up to Ritz’s reputation.

What a beautiful space. We stopped in for drinks and to listen to Jean Marie the pianist one night and it was magical. He is a truly magnificent pianist. The cocktails are beautiful. We stopped in the following evening to hear Jean Marie and have dinner and we had the perfect evening. They were accommodating to change the time of our reservation. We had the Onion Soup which was a Deconstructed version in a way but oh my goodness, the flavor was amazing and it was actually much less heavy which was exactly perfect as a starter. Just beautiful. We then had the Turbot which was executed perfectly. All of the staff were wonderful but Mehdi really stood out with his kindness and attentiveness. We will absolutely be back and would recommend it to anyone looking for a special and memorable night in Paris.

Came to have light snack with champagne dessert and tea. Was very fancy. This wasn't my idea to do this. Someone made the reservation. Not cheap but it is the Ritz... something I would not normally do but had an experience. The staff are delightful.

My recent visit to the Ritz Paris was incredibly disappointing and far from the high standards one would expect from such a prestigious establishment. Key Issues: Despite arriving on time for our reservation, we were made to wait 10-15 minutes before being seated. This was particularly inconvenient as we had a train to catch. The restaurant was not busy, and there were several empty tables, leaving us confused about the delay. Chaotic Atmosphere: While waiting, we noticed numerous people walking in and taking photos who were clearly not guests or patrons. This disrupted the ambiance and detracted from the exclusivity of the venue. Service Failures: After being seated, we were handed menus but left unattended for 20-30 minutes. No one explained the menu to us, leaving us unsure of our options. Meanwhile, other tables received detailed explanations from their waiters. The table itself was wobbly, and service throughout the meal was inconsistent. For example, water was topped up for female guests but repeatedly overlooked for one of our male companions. Food Quality: Our main courses were a mixed experience. The pasta was served hot, but the chicken was cold, an unacceptable lapse at a venue of this caliber. Departure Experience: Upon leaving, the concierge called a taxi for us, but the doorman abandoned us midway to assist another arriving car, making us feel unimportant. Health Concerns: One member of our party suffered severe stomach pains and was hospitalised the next day with food poisoning. While the hotel claims no other guests reported similar symptoms, this does not mitigate our experience or concerns about food hygiene standards. Offered Compensation: The management offered us an aperitif for two on a future visit, which feels inadequate considering the magnitude of the issues we faced. Overall, this visit fell drastically short of the luxury, professionalism, and service excellence associated with the Ritz Paris. I hope the management takes serious steps to address these issues, but based on my experience, I cannot recommend this establishment and would advise others to manage their expectations when visiting.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner served in the same day, in addition to the Ritz Club Spa. Ambiance is cosy and exceptional The spa is a true oasis of peace nestled in the heart of Place Vendôme. For breakfast, lunch, dinner, and a full day at the spa, you should expect to spend a minimum of €1000 per day for two people. This is in line with the standards of such extraordinary establishments. I will come back without any hesitation

Service was amazing. Very welcoming and attentive. The only problem was that the food was lacking in flavor. The restaurant is very cute with a glass roof and glass walls that let in a lot of sunlight and adds to the softness of the atmosphere.

Through my hours of research prior to our trip to Paris, I knew a couple of things for certain. 1.) My husband and I needed at least one night where we could dress up and celebrate our anniversary/30th birthday in a Paris-y charm type of way and 2.) we MUST try the famous Christmas Bûche de Nöel...and it needed to be from Bar Vendôme at the Ritz Carlton (thanks to the Pinterest blogger who totally convinced me that this was the move.) Well, I'm not surprised at all that this experience landed itself 5 stars. If I could, I'd break the Yelp scale by giving it 7 stars. We made our reservations weeks in advance and from the moment we stepped in...we were treated like royalty. They grabbed our winter gear and stored it in the coat closet, sat us in our little private and dimly lit corner of the room, and helped us navigate the French menu. While it was obvious that we were Americans attempting to enjoy the fully French way of living, we had great conversations with the staff about where we should go and returned the favor by sharing must-see spots in the U.S. Our food arrived in the most beautiful presentation. I'm not kidding; think Beauty and the Beast styled cutlery and a chef opening up the serving platter to show you your meal - it was divine. Then, for the grand finale! They bring out the Buche de Noel (that we requested at the same time we booked the reservation), accompanied with a sweet "Bonne Anniversaire" tune playing on the piano in the background. The delicate dessert was presented to the two of us with white gloved hands and a candle on top! I felt like I was living in a movie. Last but not least, if you happen to be in Paris during winter, this is the place for you. In the foyer, there was had a massive Christmas tree that immediately catches your eye. Outside, you'll walk through cobblestone streets of twinkling bright lights and realize you're walking in a winter wonderland. Ahhh...Take me back!!!!

Stumbled across this place because I was trying to get int Bar Hemingway but they were full. I decided to sit outside on the covered patio. There is a pianist singing a mix of Van Morrison, The Beatles, and other well known covers. The ambiance is quite nice but does not feel stuffy. To drink I had the Balade En Himalaya which tastes like a margarita with a great minty hint to it. The staff all speak English well. Would definitely recommend

Sat at the bar with my wife on our honeymoon. 10/10 service and atmosphere. Would recommend and will return when we can.

The service is impeccable...this is legendary Ritz service. The care and attention to detail is incomparable. The live piano player added a very special touch to a what was a very special dinner for us. We arrived today for a week in Paris at The Ritz to celebrate our 20th wedding anniversary. Our meal was top notch from start to finish, including our waiter going out of his way to bring us the name of the place they source their delicious butter from! Our wine recommendation was spot on. The ambience is a swoon worthy date night dream. The menu is very pricey and our meal was extraordinarily good. Perhaps just shy of 5 stars for me. Bar Vendôme is everything it is known for and worth the visit. What a perfect start to our long dreamed of trip.

Very disappointing. We attempted to to visit the Bar Hemingway our last night in Paris. Unfortunately, it is closed Sun and Mon. (Friends - keep this in mind. And... I know, shame on me for not planning ahead.). Regardless... when we arrived at approx 10PM we were very politely informed that not only was Bar Hemingway closed (my bad), but, also, there were no available seats in Bar Vendome (despite being at only 30%-40% capacity). "We are keeping these available for Ritz guests should they wish for a cocktail." So... Thank you Ritz Paris for a wonderful introduction! (Uggghhhh... sarcasm!). The taskmaster (mistress) at Bar Vendome serves as a VERY MEMORABLE (AND VERY BAD) brand ambassador for the Ritz... at least for us heathen, non-Ritz guests. That said, instead, and not far away, we had delightful cocktails at Le Bar at Four Season George V. I leave this review to stand as a warning to potential Ritz Paris visitors... If you are not a hotel guest, go somewhere else. My greatest hope is that one day Harvard Business School writes a case about how (NOT) to develop your brand, and uses this as is as their lead-in example. Again, thank you Ritz. Gorgeous setting. The courtyard is a beautiful cool and serene spot to enjoy a beautiful artisan cocktail. The truffle cashews are amazing. Easily the worst experience we had in Paris and sadly it was for our 15-year anniversary. The food was over priced and under flavor, the vibe is stuffy and to top it off the service was downright awful. We waited 30+ minutes for a $200 bottle of wine, 30+ to be asked about coffee or dessert and left underwhelmed in every way. There are a million cafes in this incredible town, all have better food, ambiance & service than Vendome.

Delicious food, great service, everything you'd expect from somewhere like The Ritz.
