I hate to share this place since it’s a local gem, but there was a group of racist individuals in there tonight (Super Bowl) disrupting the vibe. The bar (as usual) was a pleasant place, locals gathered, and one guy was disrupting all of it, in a maniacal way, then he and his friends turned completely racist and the police had to be called. The bartender and crew tried to be polite, tell them to calm down, but it escalated quickly and the police had to be called and bouncers from next door, enlisted. The man in question (white guy, grey hair) was out of control, and referred to a bar back as ICE - which was not only racist; but out of hand. Everyone in the bar was enjoying the night, the game, each other, and this guy and his friends were drunk, out of hand, and completely out of line.
In Utah, you do not have bouncers and normal back up like other states. People (here) are put in tough situations, especially in a gun state, they have to try and protect and gauge a situation in a moment - it’s not fair - the team didi the best they could to de-escalate but the white-haired man and his NY friends were out of line, unwelcome, and frightening. I’m from the east coast, and they were awful, out of line,, and ruined an otherwise happy occasion.
BarX crew - good on you for trying to protect us and keep the Super Bowl tradition alive and positive.
