I enjoyed this place. The shrimp tacos were amazing and our Bartender definitely made the drinks just how I like them, strong! The DJ was on point with the music and it’s plenty of space to just dance. FYI: If you’re driving, park on 23rd and Michigan so you won’t get ticketed or towed.

I went for the Bears game against Green Bay. It took almost an hour (no lie) for two orders of mozzarella sticks and fried shrimp. The waitress apologized and said it was only one cool back there... the mozzarella sticks were small but really good, and the shrimp was 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥. One of the bartenders J kept coming checking on us and she had a fun energy. Another bartender gave us an extra shot because of the wait for drinks. I will say as far at atmosphere there were no sports posters or pics or looked very plain. Also I was in the middle of the bar, the lights were not on and it felt like the heat wasn't either 😆😆😆😆😆. The owner was real nice though he gave everybody a free shot when the Bears won. (Side note- our waitress said he would come over to talk to us about the food taking all day and he never did).

HUGE shoutout to Lionell and the team at Bar 22! I’ve been coming here from STL for 4 years, but they went above and beyond on 12/13/25. ​When our original venue caught fire right as my sorority (OMEGA XI DELTA SORORITY, INC.) arrived for our New Member Presentation, Bar 22 stepped in and saved the day. They accommodated 70 people on the fly and made sure our showcase was a success. ​The atmosphere was 10/10, the staff was so patient, and the DJ was incredible at adapting to our needs. Food and drinks were top-tier as usual. Thank you for turning a potential disaster into an amazing night! Highly recommend for brunch, drinks, or your next big event.

My friends and I came here for our birthday. & I’m SO disappointed. . First of all , security made a rule about no hats in the building , but we walk in and people have on hats at the bar . His excuse was “they were here before 10” . . If that’s a RULE Enforce it for the whole club ! The whole night ! . . We get our drinks, the liquor is disgusting . Like they use fake liquor or something then they tell us, “we can’t do a tab” so you telling me I have to keep giving you my card ALL NIGHT if I want to keep ordering drinks . ? The DJ was Horrible . The food , NOT the best at all . I asked for a manager ; she was ok and helped as much as she could but I would not recommend this place for a good night out.

I can honestly say that this time I believe the service was better than the food. Not that the food was bad but that the service and the bartender was so good. Shay I believe was her name gave me a lot of recommendations, places to go and travel outside of Chicago. She was very helpful. The drinks were heavy And the chicken was good. The place I went to beforehand was packed, but I was able to walk in bar 22 on the first snow of the season had a solid drink and walked out, barely before blacking out. I will return for try out Sunday brunch

Bought tickets for a RnB/Trap party (I’m pretty sure it was free entry without a ticket *money grab*). They didn’t provide any dress code restrictions prior. We get there and said they didn’t allow hats after taking an uber from our hotel to get there. When advising that we don’t have a car to put the hat in, they didn’t care. Only to get into the bar and there’s a man at the bar with a hat on. Not to mention the DJ was TRASH! There wasn’t a flow to his set at all, just random songs. 0/10 do NOT recommend…unless you are in to weak ish.

We had a great time celebrating a friend’s birthday. We did the $50 brunch special. Everything I tried was delicious. I really enjoyed the pasta dish, I ordered it twice 😊. I loved the table service, All employees were friendly. The owner, DJ was very professional. I will definitely visit again!

Owner was super nice and accomodating there were no chairs at the bar due to the event and I asked him for chair because I had just had surgery a few months back though I can do moderate activity. I still needed to sit in. The other tables were reserved and he gave me a chair. He was so nice!! The bartenders were super nice and the food was decent as well!!

Stopped by Bar22 recently for a quick cocktail post a drag brunch nearby. It's a small, neighborhood type bar with sports on the TVs, basic bar food, beer, and cocktails. I ordered an old fashioned which was competently rendered. My husband ordered a Manhattan and didn't specify he wanted it served up and it came on ice. In my experience, this is a Midwestern thing but just a note if you prefer your Manhattan up, you may want to let them know We also ordered and shared their seasoned fries, which were heavily seasoned and delish! The service was kind and courteous throughout our experience and the prices were very reasonable.

Nice spot for R&B and reggae music and a good vibe overall. I attended a birthday celebration here. The only downside was the volume, the music felt too loud for the size of the space and caused an earache.

My friends and I came here after Margarita fest in June on a Sunday. It was 2 million degrees outside and this place did not have air conditioning, not sure if it wasn't on or wasn't working or what, but we were HOT. We stayed for 1 drink and left. No thanks.

Visited from Cali & reserved an Easter Sunday brunch here with bottomless mimosas, heard from a couple locals that this place was 'poppn'.. they must've been referring to the music, DJ was doing his thang in the 1s & 2s.. but the place was close to empty. HOWEVER, the food.. was INDEED POPPN!!! My waitress (I forgot her name) was very friendly, helpful & attentive. Overall I enjoyed my brunch, as long as the food & drinks are good, I'm a happy camper. Restaurant was very clean and so were their bathrooms!

Fanastic service, great wings, cold beer, what more could you want. This place is just a block off the beaten path but has what you need, drinks and a snack. Cleanliness was absolutely a plus, from the overall bar to the restaurant, all clean. Highly recommend.

Do not come here for the over priced brunch it's not worth it! I came here with my cousin for her birthday we had a party of 8! After waiting outside for 10 min for nothing when we had a reserved party to get in and it's barely people inside. We got in and the waiter poured our mimosas. They were under staffed and it's not a buffet! You have to get your food made to order. We waited a nice minute for our food! Then our table did not get our food at the same time! I finally got my food which was an omelette smothered potatoes and cat fish nuggets. First the omelette had hair cooked into the egg! The potatoes were really fried which was also very disappointing! The cat fish was the only good thing I ate! It took them a long time to bring us more mimosas when they could have gave us the jug to pour ourselves because it's unlimited and we had to wait just for another cup! Also I let them know about the hair in my eggs and I'm literally still sitting here waiting for a new plate of food! Oh the music was cool but no manager or promoter came to make things right! They don't care! Oh I'm sorry they gave us a shot! Of tequila!

My cousin book a brunch for her birthday which cost us $72 supposed to be all you can eat plus mimosas which was just orange juice only had 6 wings which you can only get 3 at a time the other 3 took a hour and 2 salads terrible service young crowd and not worth your money run go some where else

I recently booked a private event for a day party reunion here and I will say 10's across the board! The manager, event coordinator and owner was very helpful in making my vision come to light. Additionally the event was a complete success!

Security was RUDE! Staff was unprofessional, and the food wasn't even good! They served us shots in mouth rinse cups. The cups that are on kids' liquid medicine tops!

Went on a Saturday around 8pm not too busy, didn't have to pay to get in!, drinks weren't that pricey my total was $25 I got a Long Island, shot of tequila and 6 piece mozzarella stick. The mozzarella sticks were good & fresh. Around 9pm it did start to get a little crowded idk if it was an event today but the scene was mostly older people like 30+ and they didn't have a dj. But overall it was cool a good place to pregame fasuree.

Definitely a vibe. Nice cozy atmosphere. Everyone is friendly. They have great talent coming in to perform also from comedians to musicians

I don't even know where to begin . This place is so unorganized ,short staff so of course the staff thats there is over work and overwhelmed with attitudes. so it was supposed to be unlimited mimosas and food . The food was terrible and to pay $66 dollar you got crap. The food was not hot when you got it . one of my guest got food with hair in it . Mind you the owner didn't say sorry just took the plate and went to the back and never came back . unlimited food and mimosas ..yeah ok a freaky lie. Another guest from my party finally got a chance to speak with the owner and he gave a round of shots which I wasn't happy about ! they turn some of my people around because the had a certain sandals on .. Also one of my guest had a cap on and the security guy mad her walk back and put it in the car or she couldn't come in . Again mind you the guest that had on the sandles just lost out on $66 dollars it was a no refund . Then as time went by I see the security guard letting people in with caps and sandals talking about someone over ride and said they can come in because the was with the DJ . So my guest lost out on $66 dollar but you show favoritism. unprofessional i thought all rules stick . I spend over $1000 and got treated like Shìt . I gave one star because it went let my review go through they really don't deserve a star

Nice clean Sports Bar, drinks are good. The staff is very nice and professional. The dance floor is a nice size. I enjoyed my friend bday party. The owner was very accommodating seeing that it was two parties going at the same time with a big age gap.

Sunday Brunch is an absolute scam. They tell you to buy tickets and tables then cant accommodate all the people they sell them. DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME OR MONEY

I chose to celebrate my birthday at this establishment, which was a horrible idea. I decided to pay for a table and purchase a bottle.BAD DECISION! When I arrived at the venue and checked in I was instructed to find a guy with "the black shirt" regarding my table. To make a long story shorter when we finally got his attention he was rude. Pretty much walked up to me as if I was bothering him so much so I had to redirect him by restarting the convo with "hello, how are you". Following this and paying I was instructed to wait at the bar to be walked to the table, however there was no crowd so I am not sure about why we weren't walked directly back. Mind you there was also another gentleman waiting to be seated at the empty tables. About another 15-20 mins we were walked to the table.. The back VIP area is shared with those getting brunch (ridiculous) not to mention having to join the line for the brunch. Again paying $200 should warrant me some convenience like actually having a private area and even our own brunch area but I guess not. Now I am in the line for the food and they immediately run out of food. I am sure the small pans of food put out vs the large crowd causes this. I had to wait about 10-15 mins for another SMALL pan of chicken was put out causing my food to get cold AND I was not the only one waiting! Now me and my cold food, other than the chicken, get back to the table and guess what.. NO BOTTLES WERE THERE. My friend again sought out the RUDE manager about the bottles and got a rude response. She returns and another almost 20 mins go by before the bottles come. Side note: The bottle server and supposed "manager" get into a slight verbal exchange right by us .. Now lets get to the other issue. I had guests come and ALL three of them were upset by the way they were handled at the door.. THEN I also had to come to the front to get them despite my name being on the list. I was told that this was for my protection so no one could take my wrist bands.. wait what??... So I not only have to pay $200 for a bottle/table with bad service I ALSO have to keep coming from the BACK to FRONT to get my guest..You gotta be kidding!!! ALSO my friend had a cupcake for me and was told that she needed to pay $25 to bring it!!!Not to mention being charged $4 a can for ginger beer despite paying lots of money already!! The DJ and crowd were good but my overall experience was no where worth the money ($200!!!) I spent. There was nothing special outside of having a seat and being a fool for giving them my money.

Just a quick recap of the night: my friends and I arrived around 11:30pm. We spent around $300 before going outside. No major issues with the bar (aside from it being slow) and entrance. My actual issue came when my group of friends stepped outside. Upon trying to re-enter we were told entry/re-entry was done for the night. It was only 2am. So as we navigated our next move, I literally watched groups of people walk back into the bar. I confronted the bouncer after a few groups had walked in and the line was slow. His response was: I was instructed more people could come in but nobody else. I said "well can we He never told me people could enter. We were standing there.

We had a small party @ Bar22, prior to going to the LIPS extravaganza! They were unbelievably kind and patient and made special accommodations for us. The bartender was very nice, also very patient as we were a gaggle of loud girls! . I would highly highly recommend this place, especially the manager

Nope NEVER AGAIN .. went to bar 22 on Sunday September 5th small party of 12 for the bears versus Packers game we had bottle service two bottles of champagne a bottle of ciroc and a bottle of 1738 in addition to that many of the guests brought their own drinks that did not drink what we had ordered for the bottle service ( Long island iced teas Gin beer etc ).... The wait staff was extremely accommodating and attentive The chicken wings first order were great including the shrimp we ordered additional chicken wings and it appears as though the chef poured a whole container of salt on the chicken wings which we had to return Attempted to order more shrimp and we were notified that they were out This is where it gets good since I could not eat the salted chicken wings I asked my guy to go outside and get my $0.59 bag of popcorn out of the car so I can snack on that He was quickly stopped at the door by the owner and the owner stated "" I can have my liquor license revoked if you brought in this popcorn and 12 oz unopened bottle of smartwater"""" Really he must didn't know we have been in the lounge / bar industry for the last 25 years.... Now in all honesty I can understand the unopened bottle of smartwater But the $0.59 bag of popcorn ???? After spending so much money on bottle service ""boy bye "" you would never get no more my money ever ! Sorry not sorry.....

I came here for the Sunday brunch. Honestly this wasn't a bad spot at all. Just a few things that need to be corrected. Pricing when ordering tickets off of Eventbrite is terrible. They do a horrible job at explaining what you are paying for and what you'll be receiving. The seating is limited so large parties are not recommended. I would keep it to 4-5 unless you pay for back booth or the large table in the front. The most disgusting thing about this place is the price of their bottles. On their own menu they were selling a bottle for $200 dollars. Come to find out, they had the nerve to try and sell us that same bottle for $250. When confronted about the issue, the manager tried to play it off and sell the bottle to my group for $200. Besides the bad online marketing, and ridiculous price gouging. This place isn't bad. Big TV's to watch sports, music was on point, and the food is was on par with other spots.

came here in for a birthday brunch and left so upset. we have to pay $85 per person (roughly 12 ppl) for "unlimited food" and three fifths that came with the "v.i.p" we were put in. our arrival time was 2pm we didnt get ANY "unlimited" food until 4:45 after asking every server we saw where was our food. the food came cold and very small portions. we only ordered once which is why i keep emphasizing unlimited. bottomless mimosa were not included in the $85 and had to pay an optional $20 per person at the door if we wanted to add mimosa. our server was rude, the owner i guess was drinking like a customer and we didn't eat lol! the three fifths that came with the package were 2 bottles of tequila 1 blanco and 1 repasado then 1 bottle of hennessey??? as a server i was so disappointed, as a customer i was pissed off. i spent $100 for liquor basically and a dj lol. me and my party of 12 won't be back

Hosted a Day Birthday Party in the private section. My guest all had a great time. Chef seasoned the food to perfection. Staff checked on us every 30 minutes. Would definitely return!

Excellent fried chicken and chicken tacos. This is a place that is easy to miss when you walk by, but when you look into the window, you see that it is spacious and well designed. I have only been to this place in the early evening when it was not very crowded, and I have no idea what it is like later at night. The food is delicious and at a reasonable price. If you are hungry, and in the area then it is worth a visit.

Came here on a Saturday night (9/10) with my boyfriend just looking to have a good time. We are both new to the area so we are still looking for good spots for Black night life. We were excited about this place and planned to spend money only to be turned away at the door by the bouncer when we arrived because we are not over 25 years old. We are both 22 and obviously of age. Although we are new to the area it really doesn't sound right that a night club would be 25+ and after looking all over your social media pages and reviews I have not seen a single place where it says the club is 25+. I have seen people who are clearly under 25 on your social media inside of the club. When we showed up they were playing FNF by glorilla... at a 25+ club? If this is the case, yall need to make it clear on your socials and websites. If not, yall need a new bouncer that isnt stuck on a hating ass power trip.

Don't even waste your time coming to this subpar, bootleg brunch day party. Yes, the price is right but you get what you pay for. They fail to tell you that bottom less mimosas and brunch end at 4 PM, however, we arrived 10 minutes before 4 PM and they still charged us full price. We attempted to order mimosas and enjoy the buffet when we were told by their bartender/"manager" that she had to check if mimosas were still available (mind you it is still before 4pm & the other bartender was still pouring mimosas for others guests). This bartender took a total of 12 minutes before she got back to us (not before she came back to the bar & held a 8 minute convo with a gentleman at the bar). Of course it was after 4 PM at this time & she told us we couldn't have the mimosas we paid for because it was after 4 PM, but we asked for them before 4 PM. The little bit of food that was left (because brunch ends at 4 PM) was mediocre & customer service was severely lacking. There was barely anyone in the place & now I understand why. They need to retrain or get rid of their employees who are causing them to lose business. The DJ was great though!

Very nice and clean bar with great servers and bar food. I came here with friends to watch the Bears play. Nice mature crowd, but unfortunately the DJ was playing trap and ratchet music which was very annoying for this crowd. Old school and house music would suffice. He was in his own world. Truly the only downfall at this establishment. Get rid of the DJ. Would've gave a higher rating if it wasn't for the bad DJ.

This place is a hidden gem of the South Loop .The jerk tacos were the best I have had in a long time and the staff and service was top notch . Will deffinnatly revisit .

My cousin was there last night for her 50th Birthday and was highly disappointed with the food and customer service. The owner forfeit on their agreement. Her contract started that she would receive two pans of chicken and one pan of fish; along with food service(waiters/ waitress).There was only one pan of chicken provided and along with a pan of salad; no waiter/waitress for servicing food.She was told that her allotted time frame was 9pm-3am but was told at approximately 1:30am that they were closing 2:00am. She was very disappointed with the service that spend an excessive amount of money on. The only thing that went while here was the atmosphere. If you can found another location for a special event I wouldn't recommend this location..

So the positive: the servers were very good in the midst of a lot going on. Our server was very attentive. She literally is the reason we stayed. I wish I knew her name but shout out to the waitstaff. The not so positive:OKKK!!! So we walk in on a Monday and music is blasting like it's freaking Saturday night. I'm like ummmm I didn't know that's what we were walking into when we saw the wing special on our email. The music was so Loud you couldn't even think straight. The the wings tasted like they came out the freezer And the baked them from frozen. The shrimp was ok. If you're looking for a whole club experience complete with Pat downs at the door this is your spot. But as for me I'm pretty good on it.

Sunday afternoon around 1:45 pm, circling the same block for 30 minutes before I have to pay for valet parking $30. I paid $20 through Eventbrite for brunch and now I have to pay an additional $25 to eat? Well I'm here now $60 in so where's the mimosas and food? In a corner by the bar are little pans of food being replenished. Soul food kinda breakfast a little but after mimosas and Hennessy everything tastes great. The atmosphere was what sold me here, good music good vibes. Can use my space inside for dancing eating and socializing but the atmosphere is love. It's like paying $65 to chill at your cousin's house for Andre champagne and OJ premixed with your aunts green beans with white potatoes fried chicken donuts potatoes and scrambled eggs with the regular breakfast meets. If you want to parlay with your friends this is it, if you're looking for a brunch that'll blow your mind check out 80proof or Fremont.

Looking for a mature, grown and sexy night visit BAR 22. Bar 22 has a welcoming atmosphere, excellent customer service, and food is always fresh and made to order! The jerk shrimp tacos makes a great appetizer for one who would like something light and filling while enjoying a nice cocktail! Definitely one of my new favorite places in CHICAGO!

Had my bestfriend birthday party here 3/23/19 Beautiful upscale place loved the crowd and atmosphere, great customer service, loved the food the chicken, and shrimp tacos are amazing. Bartenders are very professional and make great drinks, great music! Very clean establishment! Will definitely be back!

Clearly a front for something. Place is always deserted except for one guy who sits there with a DJ booth playing music for himself. Steer clear.

It was my cousin's birthday . She got a invitation to have her party there . Bar22 charges $20 for entry , guys and girls with a text . The atmosphere was okay . The music was ok , it would stop at some points of the night . The drinks at the bar was horrible and super over priced . Drinks are watered down and not mixed properly . I hated every drink that was made for me . I probably don't be going back here .

This is a great upscale sports bar! There are TV's everywhere so you won't miss anything when it comes to the games. Drinks are strong, which is always a good thing. And the customer service was excellent! And it was a nice, fun crowd. I'm so happy they opened a place like this on Michigan. I will definitely be back!

I came here with a group of 8 girls and this place is very misleading. When we first arrived they asked if we were there for brunch or just drinks. We told them we were there just for drinks and the lady at front said it was $10. We thought that was for the drinks, but that was just the cover. We had to pay an additional $18 for the mimosas. The website says it's till 6pm and they fail to tell you that it ends at 4pm. We would of been fine with the fees if they just tell you upfront instead of being misleading. We definitely won't be back.

One particular server will pressure you into buying drinks, then told us the first one was free of charge. Once we was getting ready to leave he told us that we owe him 16$. He has a bushy ponytail I would try to avoid his service. Some food was cold as well, bt I didn't mind that it's the server that pissed me off the most!

So this was my first time visiting Bar 22 for Brunch, the service was PHENOMENAL!!!! The Brunch was also delicious and the bottomless mimosas definitely put me in the mood. The Energy my best friend and I gave out, was very well reciprocated. The bartenders & wait staff were very knowledgeable about the products and exemplified great customer service skills. I wish I could give them TEN STARS. I will be returning!!!
