We came here without any expectations, but this place truly exceeded them. The dish recommended by the owner was absolutely wonderful — full of flavor and generously portioned. We left feeling more than satisfied. Thank you so much to the owner for the kind gesture and the sweet treat. It made our visit even more special.

Google
Oh man, is this some tasty food!! 😋. We grabbed lunch here and the authenticity is clear as the spices used are very forward in the flavor. I ordered medium spicy and it was delicious! A bit beyond my normal heat level, but enjoyable. My large gyro had lots of meat and crisp veggies. We also tried the hummus and grape leaves which were freshly prepared and so flavorful. While we were there many people stopped in, so the quality of the food is clearly known by the locals. The man who took our order was great fun and the staff were bussing tables and taking care of the place while we ate. Stop in for a tasty meal!

Google
This place was worth the short drive to get here from the underground Atlanta area. The food was delicious, and fresh! The staff was very helpful and welcoming! I highly recommend the shwarma plate! I had a medium heat level on the spice, it was perfect! I will be back again!

Google
Baraka Shawarma is a hidden gem in downtown Atlanta! The food is absolutely delicious — I tried the chicken shawarma wrap and my wife had the beef plate, both were packed with flavor and perfectly spiced. The portions are generous and everything tasted fresh and homemade. The staff were warm and welcoming, and the place was clean and comfortable for a quick lunch or casual dinner. As a family with kids, we appreciated the fast service and the simple, wholesome menu. Brother Abdul was great to meet and he is the light of the restaurant If you’re looking for authentic Halal Middle Eastern food in the heart of Atlanta, Baraka Shawarma is a must-try. Will definitely be coming back!

Google
Got the combo mixed plate and the vegetarian delight and both were amazing. Great flavor, great portions, and great value. What more can you ask for! Bonus, staff were also extremely kind.

Google
The food is amazing. So fresh. I couldn't shovel it into my mouth fast enough. Great prices too.

Google
My boyfriend and I love this place. We like getting the gyro wrap with the highest level of spice and drink. The falafel is also really yummy! The people are super nice every time we walk in. When it gets kind of busy the wait can be a little long but the food is so good it’s worth the wait.

Google
As a truck driver I’ve been to so many states and tried so many different foods. But this place right here has been the best middle eastern food I’ve ever ate. It’s beyond delicious ! The ambiance of this place is beyond beautiful.

Yelp
To begin with the restaurant looks extremely clean and had comfy vibe! The service was amazing he was super kind and approaching and had a great vibe and even gave all of us a lolipop! The menu was pretty diverse and the lamb and chicken were seasoned perfectly. The food was delicious and I devoured it. I think if you've never had mediterranean food I strongly suggest considering it. Even if you're doubtful which I was!

Yelp
Walked over here from the Aquarium and it was amazing. It was a little busy but the staff were still extremely friendly and attentive despite the chaos in the restaurant. It was also still clean and a little small so when it's packed you might have to wait for seating but it's still worth it. The food itself was delicious and well seasoned. It was extremely well priced and it was plenty of food that would leave you full. Overall highly recommend if you're in the area.

Yelp
The best shawarma in ATL, if not all of Georgia. My parents are Dearborn natives and growing up in the greater metro Detroit area, shawarma was a staple in my diet until I moved here in 2022. Definitely get the combo wrap and get extra garlic sauce! Top notch! Will be returning!

Yelp
The food was pretty good! Lentil soup 4/5 - nice, warm, and well cooked. However, the person at the counter asked me for my spice preference and I chose the maximum. But it wasn't spicy at all. Baba Ghanouj with Pita 4/5 - it was made really well. Could have been a little more flavorful. Service & Staff 5/5! Kind, funny and responsive staff. He even handed us all some candy and stopped by a couple of times to check in on us. Ambience 2/5 - this isn't your typical sit down restaurant with a pleasant ambience. It is designed to be fast moving, so don't go in expecting a great atmosphere.

Yelp
My friends and I were looking for a quick dinner spot after spending a long day in downtown Atlanta. We were super hungry, but it was getting late. We wanted to be served fast and eat quickly before we got back to our hotel to shower and rest for the night. Then, we kinda found this place on our search. It was opened, empty and close to our hotel, so it was perfect for us. There was 2 men inside manning the whole store. There were decent amount of tables inside. They answered any questions that we had. I personally got the COMBINATION PLATTER. The 2 meats choices they had were pretty good. The white and spicy sauce that they had made it even better. I went up to ask for more sauce and they kinda gave me more. The side salad had a good amount of vegetables and a nice light dressing. They also gave pita bread on the side, but was surprised to see how thin they make theirs. It was different, but nonetheless good. The whole combo with carbs/protein/vegetables was enough to satisfy my super starving stomach. I also ordered a BAKLAVA dessert. I was kinda disappointed in their baklava. It was not your typical slice, but more like 2-3 tiny rolled baklava in one order. It personally didn't think it was worth the price despite it tasting good. It was really small and left me wanting more. Overall, I do recommend this shop for their food. Despite how I may have judged this place by the lack of reviews or lack of customers inside, the food was good. It wasn't the best halal food I've had, but it satisfied my hunger and tasted good.

Yelp
Man I love medditeranean food, but this just fell below my expectations. Everything was kinda bland and nothing really stood out. Maybe I should have gotten the spicy sauce....
google avatar

John T.

Yelp
It's not that fancy but the food and service is great and the guy behind the counter is very funny. The veg and meat where fresh and the spices were on point. The shawarma is do good you want seconds or thirds.
google avatar

Mahin Z.

Yelp
Food was delicious and affordable. There are tons of options as well. The service is also very nice, and the man who runs the counter is very sweet.

Allie M.

Yelp
The food was SOOOOOO GOOOD, that sauce they threw on the shawarma plate was amazing, we ordered the combo medium and Indian combo plates heat. Our friend was with us often didn't like Mediterranean style food but after eating here- she was allll fooor the chicken plate she loved it. The workers were so sweet and fun, they checked up on us plenty and we felt welcomed. Will be sure to recommend to friends in the ATL area and we hope to come back when we're back in town!

Yelp
Amazing food try everything on the menu and some of the best service in Atlanta. Amazing desserts.

Yelp
Fast and convenient traditional shawarma fare. The samosas were large but didn't have much filling --they still tasted good, especially with the tahini dip. I also got the baba ganoush. The baba was great but the pita was dry and chewy. Fine for a fast meal but I wouldn't order from here if I wanted anything special.

Yelp
I liked this place. It is located in the heart of downtown Atlanta, near some old Federal/courthouse type building. It is a few blocks from Peachtree Street. I met a friend here for lunch before doing a walking tour. The shop is a straightforward, no frills sort of place. They have a small dining area with multiple booths and a couple of tables up front, and a counter at the back where you order. There is a menu board above the counter. The guy behind the counter was friendly and engaging. The food is then brought out to your table after you order. I got a gyro and fries and enjoyed them. This place is well worth a stop for a quick lunch if you are in the area.

Yelp
My husband, daughter and I went here and were blown away by the service and food. We ordered hummus to start and two combo meat platters. The hummus was huge and hit the spot, super creamy and delicious. With your plate or wrap you get to choose your spice level ("American" all the way to "Indian"). We went with medium and it wasn't that spicy. One of the owners went above and beyond to welcome us and gave our daughter a free peach/strawberry smoothie. We'll definitely come back when we're craving shawarma. This is such a hidden gem.

Yelp
I had the lamb shank delivered through Uber eats. There was absolutely no seasoning. I was expecting a bit of just or braising liquid but it was bone dry.

Yelp
I was visiting Atlanta for a day and wanted to try some local favorites--and I'm so glad I found this spot! I had the chicken shawarma wrap, which was absolutely amazing, especially with the Baraka sauce that took it to the next level. I originally meant to order the plate, and when I mentioned it to the guy at the counter, he was so kind and served me a side of rice with sauce for free! I went for medium spicy, which was just right, but I'll definitely try the spicier option next time. The guy at the counter was super friendly and had a great sense of humor, making the experience even better. Fantastic food and great vibes--highly recommend!

Yelp
I shall endeavor to give this establishment as fair a review as possible. This is a little hole in the wall gem away from the bustling area of Marietta Street. The restaurant is low key but cozy in its own right. It was a little warm in there though. The staff - hands down these guys work HARD and they do it with a smile, humor and charm. That in itself can win a customer over. The food - I went for the combination of the chicken shawarma, fries and a drink. The chicken shawarma was excellent as it was tender, well flavored and fresh. The hummus was also wonderful. If I have one complaint it is that the food can take a while if they are busy (and they are very busy from what I observed) and I wish the fries had salt. These guys just make good hearty food and they do it well. Look forward to coming back.

Yelp
I walked in here from my downtown Atlanta hotel on a rainy Sunday afternoon. There weren't a lot of places open on the weekend surprisingly and this place was a dry reprieve. The man behind the counter who took my order was so incredibly kind. I ordered the chicken shawarma salad. They offer three levels of spice ("American" "medium" & "Indian"). I ordered the medium spice and for me, it was a touch mild--but still super good. The food was scrumptious, the portions were plenty and my food came out within 10 minutes or so being several ordered placed any of me. This is an easy place to eat in (if your group is 6 or less) or take out.

Devanshi B.

Yelp
** vegetarian food review ** Falafel plate- the falafels were good but fry. But that's how they are in most of the places. Salad was a bit too salty. I would have liked it more bland. Rice was well cooked. I also thought that the tatziki was less for the size of the plate. So the overall taste was on the dry side Fries - we loved the fries, perfectly crispy and soft too. I was happy with the service. They were quite friendly.

Yelp
We ordered delivery while staying in downtown Atlanta, and everything was delicious. I had the mixed combo plate, and I loved it! Even my 2-year-old niece loved the chicken and rice. My favorite was the baklava. We will definitely visit again when we return to Atlanta.
google avatar

Hannah G.

Yelp
That hole in the wall spot you'll come back to forever. When my boyfriend and I first started dating, he had recently visited Atlanta and kept raving about this place. Fast forward four years later and I'm bringing him along on a work trip and this place was at the top of his list. Small and unassuming, the food does all the talking. My lamb & chicken wrap was flavorful, warm, and absolutely delicious. The platters are large. I can't put words to how upset I am that this ruined my favorite spot back home for me.
google avatar

Geneva D.

Yelp
The perfect hole-in-a-wall kinda spot. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The restaurant itself has a mixture of booths and tables if you'd like to dine in. It seems like it's more of a takeout spot though. I ordered the mixed grill with a side of tabouleh and spicy sauce on the side. The food was fantastic, flavorful and filling. The tabouleh was super fresh. The perfect portion for 1 for roughly $25. My only complaint is I wish they would have given me a spoon so I could scoop all this deliciousness.
google avatar

Anna G.

Yelp
This chicken shawarma was fantastic! I also loved how friendly the staff were. Would definitely come here again.

Josette D.

Yelp
It was okay. I personally prefer the halal guys better. Rice was unseasoned and also the meat. They didn't put enough sauce on it so it was very bland. Thankfully I had a white sauce packed in my refrigerator from the halal guys to use. Pita was also very light and had a taste that is different to most pita I've had.
google avatar

Bonnie L.

Yelp
Great walk in service. Order at the counter. Service team is very friendly. The hummus was sooooo good. Highly recommend. Order a few extra pita. The combo gyro was also very tasty. Recommend for a fresh, fast meal. Available inside seating.

Fiona P.

Yelp
eat here! came in on my thirty minute break but my food was ready within ten minutes of ordering online. good food good service quick and a very clean restaurant! come here i got the falafel wrap extra sauce and it was gas. good prices too
google avatar

Allison C.

Yelp
Goodness gracious this place is delicious!! I had no idea what to expect but I left there full and wanting to eat it for dinner all over again. The food is absolutely fantastic and the staff are so sweet. There was definitely a LOT to eat and my partner and I left there incredibly full. There are a few tables inside for people to sit and eat (which is what we did) but it looks like a lot of people were ordering delivery/takeout. We might do that next time because the only downside was that the AC wasn't working very well. In the beginning of July, the restaurant got pretty humid. But 10/10 would definitely go back!

Javier T.

Yelp
The place seems a little small and maybe a little dingy but it is 100% worth it. This small dive spot is worth the visit. The food was excellent and the service was great. The guy at the counter was funny and very friendly. The combo shawarma was excellent.
google avatar

Shirin P.

Yelp
Ordered chicken shawarma to go, but somehow got charged and went home with a combination shawarma, chicken and beef. Food was tasty and service was decent so no complaints. I recommend this place if you're around and are looking for a quick bite.
google avatar

Amber B.

Yelp
The food was very good and well worth the weight. It was very hot because the place was packed (here with a conference and a lot of us showed up here.) The service was great though, very nice people.

Yelp
I'm a big fan of Mediterranean food. Back in Michigan, it wasn't hard to head to a part of town where you were guaranteed to have some good shawarma. Needless to say that I had been on a hunt for it. Happened to find this spot a while ago with some good reviews. I'm not downtown super often but I happened to be so I was looking forward to giving it a shot. Parking is typical street parking. There is street and alley parking available, but it's right on the corner so no matter where you park it's a nice walk. It's a small shop, maybe about 10 or 15 seating areas available. You come in and it's nothing fancy, kinda resembles an old school hood corner store mixed with a diner kinda vibe. I tried the shawarma with fries (seasoned) and the sambosa (beef). I was not disappointed in the slightest. Everything was tasting good, came with a little cup of the Mediterranean garlic sauce, could he use some more, but everything was flavored great! Would I come back to it, absolutely!
google avatar

Nick K.

Yelp
Great friendly food! Get anything here it's all good guys! Very busy around traffic time, but that's a good thing
google avatar

Jess S.

Yelp
I found this place thru yelp since I was staying close to the aquarium and grabbed one of the million scooters in Atlanta and rode on down. The place was a little smaller than I thought, but the dude behind the counter (I assume the owner?) was super nice and friendly. Overall 4.5/5, but the owner put it at a 5 for me! Chicken shawarma was delishhh especially with the sauce. So good. The gyro meat was alright - not bad but I prefer gyro meat where you can't taste the gaminess of the lamb as much. The plate was huge too! The pita and the rice were alright, nothing to write home about but I definitely ate all the rice lol. I also got the baba ganoush, but it was a real creamy kind of baba ganoush that I wasn't crazy about. The baklava is amazing here though. If you normally find them to be too sweet, get the round one that looks like a nest - it was just the right amount of sweet for me.
google avatar

Charito S.

Yelp
Recommend the combination plate. Great service. Dolmas (better from Trader Joe's) and tabbouleh (didn't have bulgar wheat) weren't my faves but still not bad. The babaganoush had the consistency of hummus. The kids meal (special order) was plentiful.
google avatar

Gerard M.

Yelp
Believe the hype! This place is legit 100%. Hade the Vhicken Shawarma wrap which was flavourful, juicy and overall really, really good. The plate dishes coming from the kitchen and out to the tables also looked amazing with generous portions (yes, you order - sit at one of the 6 tables - and they bring your order to you) Will definitely try other menu items next time I am in town. A++
google avatar

Jarra A.

Yelp
Got the mixed grill platter and was not disappointed! Excelente flavor and even better service. Chef Abdul is the man, must come here if in town.
google avatar

Bill C.

Yelp
Dropped in on Sunday evening for dinner. The food was a mixed bag--decent but nothing spectacular. The Hummus and Baba Ganoush were smooth and tasty, but they didn't provide nearly enough pita with which to eat it. The Dolmas was good. The biggest disappointment was the combination shawarma plate. That's pretty disappointing since that's the name of the restaurant! The meat was chopped into small bits over a lot of rice. I couldn't really taste the meat. Despite the above, I will say tha the service was friendly.

Monica M.

Yelp
Fast and delicious, fresh and tasty!! Parking is a small challenge but very worth it!
google avatar

Jay T.

Yelp
All of the great reviews are true. This tiny restaurant puts out some tasty food along with great service. I ordered the chicken shawarma to go with medium spice. The sandwich was full of moist chicken, along with lettuce and a spicy creamy sauce. It was a little sloppy to eat, but the taste made up for it. While waiting, I observed all of the items coming out of the kitchen and everything looked great. Next visit, I will eat in and order more than one item.
google avatar

Steve H.

Yelp
Fantastic wraps. They fall apart easily, but who cares when it tastes this good? I'll definitely be coming back the next time I'm in the area.
google avatar

Yelp
I was looking for good, healthy, reasonably priced food in downtown ATL for lunch and read the reviews for Baraka Shawarma. They were spot on. Reminded me of an old-school lunch spot. No frills, just solid food. I was disappointed that they no longer have wings (that were on the online menu) and didn't have the lentil soup the day I went. I ordered the Combination Shawarma Plate with beef and chicken. Delicious. I wish I would have ordered it with extra spice and sauce, but it was tasty. The basmati rice was cooked perfectly and the salad was fresh. I'll order an extra pita on my next visit. The ladies taking the orders were quick and friendly. Downtown ATL metered street parking. It wasn't an issue for me, but I can see it being hit or miss.

Alex G.

Yelp
In all honesty, I was looking for another place and parked in front of this shop. The other place closed so I looked for what was near and saw this place and its reviews and figured "why not?" The combo shawarma tastes so good, I have no idea what he put in there but it tastes like pure love. The chef was super nice and we talked for like 20 minutes about different foods he makes and recipes/recommendations. He even brought us out some mango lassi to try and some bits of breakfast food to see how we would like it. It's a hole in the wall but the food is genuinely the best I've had in Atlanta and I'm definitely coming back.
google avatar

Lori H.

Yelp
I wish I lived in Atlanta just for this restaurant. I had a salmon salad that was SO good. Would definitely recommend this place. Not to mention the owner/chef is awesome

Lucas B.

Yelp
The atmosphere had room for improvement but the food was great and the guys were friendly.
google avatar

Samuel H.

Yelp
Very tasty! It was just the kind of food I was looking for. Got a vegetarian platter with falafel, hummus, babaganoosh, tabouli, grape leaves, and pita. I've had better grape leaves, but the falafel was outstanding, and other items ranked up there as well. I'd stop in again if in the area, for sure. Would like to try some of the meats and other items.
google avatar

Julius C.

Yelp
Great food. I ordered the lamb plate which was very filling. Spices were good and the lamb was tender. Owner is also very friendly

Jacob O.

Yelp
You can literally miss this spot if youre not paying attention because of how small it is, but what a shame if you missed it because itnis some of the best mediterranian food I've ever had. The platter had everything you need and nothing you didn't. The meat is so soft and tender. Paired with the sauce, it is an unforgettable experience. The group that works at the spot is a major highlight as they greet you with warm smiles and kindness. You can really feel that this spot is a staple to the community around it. Def would recommend to anyone who wants to have a filling and delicious meal in ATL.

Yelp
I'm in downtown ATL for work and arrived late evening. It is a freakin hot and humid Tuesday PM and I didn't want to have food delivered to my hotel (W) so I checked out where I could walk to for a fast casual quick meal at 9 PM and I found Baraka Shawarma. Place was nondescript but busy and I ordered the mixed grill plate ($18). It was supposed to have a lamb kabob but it actually tastes more like beef and was a little chewy, the chicken kabob was large and delicious and the Kufta was a seemingly ground lamb and beef patty that was also tasty. The bed of rice was nice and the green salad was a little over dressed but a nice contrast. Plenty of proteins and food for under $20 for sure. Wish that they had water cups for the water cooler and real silverware instead of plastic knives and forks. I ate there and the staff were very friendly and handed out lollipops after the meal. Good find ! Good value ! Give them a try !!! Try the shawarma - that's what I'll eat next time.

Yelp
Food was fresh and delicious and the service was just as amazing. This is a very nice warm and friendly place with great food. A must if you are in town and have a lunch break

Yelp
Baraka Shawarma Ratings: 4.1/5 Food: 4.25/5 - This is one of the few places that was open during Fourth of July, and we have no idea what we were expecting but Yelp reviews seem pretty good. The shawarma here is delicious and tasty and located at a great location, literally a 10 minutes walk from the aquarium, so a solid find. See the description of the huge wrap we all got below. - Chicken Shawarma Wrap [GET]: The chicken is thinly sliced and roasted slowly on the rotisserie rack. The chicken is tender, perfectly seasoned and packed with lots of spices. It might look a bit dry without the sauce, but please get the garlic sauce and drizzle it all over, because it is so FIRE. The garlic flavor is hella strong, but not too overpowering the chicken, instead it is light and refreshing that makes you want more. There won't be a strong garlic smell afterwards. I wasn't a big fan of the pita bread, because it is so thin and got a paper type of texture. I wanted a more doughy and pillow-y texture. It also comes with onions, cabbage, and diced tomatoes. Ambiance: 3.75/5 - The shop is quite small, no fancy furniture, or pretty decorations, just straight up looks old and questionable, but do not let its cover fool you. It is a local mom-and-pop shop trying to serve authentic food. There's open displays of the kitchen such as the revolving rotisserie rack and meat / dessert containers. This is a great spot to get something casual and quick. Indoor seating is available. Price: 4.25/5 - My siblings and I all the jumbo chicken shawarma wrap for $9.49 before tax. This place is definitely worth it, and half way through the meal we thought we should have just ordered the regular size, because it was huge with comes with a ton of meat. We all left there incredibly full with a happy tummy. Service: 4/5 - There's two ladies working, one making the food and the other one taking our orders. The lady at the front was nice, friendly, and patiently answering our questions and explaining the differences between the wraps, platters, and sauces. The food came out quick, and the packaging was clean and neat. I was impressed with the service and the hospitality here. BLUF: Authentic and super hole-in-the-wall place serving Mediterranean / Middle Eastern type of food in Downtown, Atlanta. Great people and prices. Make sure to get the chicken shawarma wrap or a platter and get the garlic sauce. It is messy to eat, but definitely worth it. Would recommend if you are in the area.
