This is my favorite Sandwich shop in the Bay area, Great Sandwiches and exotic snacks and drinks, I don't eat pork based lunch meat, they have beef and turkey dry salami... Hard to find. The sandwiches and the service are A1, Don't miss out on a culinary experience. If you want an authentic deli sandwich this is the spot!!!!

Stopped by Bara’s on my lunch break for an easy meal yesterday. They have a very large selection of sandwiches, chips, drinks, and some sides as well. For the amount of food that you get, the pricing is great! You order/pay at the counter. You can either choose to customize your own sandwich or choose one of their recommended combinations! I ordered The Gobbler ($12). I love a thanksgiving themed sandwich, so I always order it if it’s an option. It came with lettuce, tomatoes, pickles, turkey, cream cheese, and cranberry sauce. I also asked for a side of pepperonchini so I could have a piece with every bite. I also ordered a small side of pesto pasta with artichokes ($4.50) and got a zero sugar Monster energy ($2.95). My whole meal was about $22 including tip/tax). The sandwich itself was filling, fresh, and huge! It ended up being two meals for me. The cream cheese wasn’t super noticeable to me, but maybe it was overpowered by the pepperonchinis I kept eating. The pasta was a bit bland for my taste but it came with a decent amount for a small. I think it just needed a sprinkle of Parmesan, salt, or even hot sauce and it would’ve been perfect. It was a mid-size sandwich shop that offered high top tables by the window and normal tables throughout. Even with the windows around almost the whole restaurant, it still felt pretty dark inside to me. I noticed that they offer some fun important drinks/chips that I would usually only see at Asian markets! That was definitely a unique offering for a sandwich shop. Next time I make it over here, I’m thinking about trying one of their paninis. Overall a solid place to grab a bite.

Price for delivery much more expensive than walk in on average $3 more per sandwiches . Because of this and the price of add-on, won’t do delivery again. Wanted share with friends but if the same sandwich can be made in house for that much cheaper, I’m out!!?

The food was great and tasted really fresh! I will Definitely go back. The sandwich I had was great and I’m excited to try some other ones. The sandwiches are very creative! I had an issue with my delivery which was thru a 3rd party vendor but Abraham worked with me to make everything right! I really appreciate his genuine apology in the error with the driver and he went above and beyond to make it right.

Looking for a deli with stacked sandwiches at a good price, this is your place. They have a great menu selection and excellent ambiance. Parking is available for convenience and they also have e-pay options as well. Would definitely come back again💯

We recently had Bara’s Deli cater our Dad’s 100th birthday party. Even though we contacted them months in advance they assured us they didn’t need to be contacted that early. A few weeks would do. As the event approached we had to change our numbers. They were able to change the numbers and let us know the new amount. The food arrived early and was packaged beautifully. The sandwiches were individually wrapped and labeled by tray. Everyone commented on how delicious they were. We had only a few left, but even the next day they were fresh and delicious. Thank you for making our party a success!

Bara's Deli is an absolute gem in San Leandro. From their warm, welcoming atmosphere to their friendly staff, their location is in a humble strip-mall. Each sandwich is constructed with fresh, high-quality ingredients that tastes amazing. You can tell they put a lot of care into their creations. I got their Lemon Pepper (R) & their Rav's Fire (L) sandwiches and they were flavorful and packed with meat.

I was told this was a San Leandro staple! I got the Rav’s sandwich with turkey, sprouts, and cranberry relish on Dutch crunch! It was so good!

We recently returned to San Leandro, the city where I grew up, and my sister insisted we try this spot because my husband is a total sandwich fanatic. It's tucked away in a small strip mall--truly a hidden gem that I'm guessing mostly locals know about. I went with the classic Italian, and he ordered the Bay Area Special. Both were incredibly flavorful, loaded with plenty of high-quality meat, and just overall hearty and satisfying--big, hefty sandwiches that really hit the spot. They have a great selection of chips and drinks to pair with your meal, and the service was super friendly and welcoming. We'll definitely be back the next time we're in town!

Attended a meeting in the area. First time lunch order. Ordered for pickup. Quick order notification. Picked up at a strip mall. Strip mall parking lot had sketchy characters. Bara's Deli did not have a clear pick up area sign. Lined up then went to cashier to notify lunch pickup. Picked up at a busy time. Workers looked stressed. Ordered one Heat Seeker. Missing tomatoes and pickles. Missing ice water and extra napkins. Worker handed my pickup order to me hastily. Paid over $27 for the one sandwich with missing items. Disappointed. Not sure if I'll be back even if I have meetings in the area.

I love a sandwich. After years of going to Genova's in Walnut Creek it is now closed forever, leaving me without a go to deli. I tried a few around the east bay, all were just ok until I found Bara's. They are BETTER than Genova's and closer to my home. Everything is delicious and fresh. Bread fresh Meat fresh and sliced thin just how I like it. It's a bit crowded at lunch time, but the staff works fast. Baras has a new regular, I'll be back again and again.

Bara's Deli has hands down some of the best sandwiches around. My go-to order is the Bara's Combo because you get two meat options. I usually choose the peppermill turkey and Italian dry salami on Dutch crunch bread, and it never disappoints. The sandwiches are always fresh, filling, and made just right. I definitely recommend ordering online because it can get busy, and this makes things much faster. Inside, it's very clean and welcoming. They have tables where you can sit, relax, and enjoy your lunch, which is a nice touch. They also offer a good variety of chips, beverages, desserts, and sides, but honestly, I usually stick to the sandwiches because they're that good. My husband actually introduced me to this place, and he really loves it too. If you're looking for a solid, high-quality sandwich, Bara's Deli is absolutely worth it.

I haven't eaten here in a couple decades. Decided to go here today with my children. It's changed a lot since my last visit the restaurant is really clean, organized, and has a very welcoming feel to it All of their refrigerators are stocked with so many different beverage choices. It's amazing. I chose the pastrami Reuben and my kids got the ultimate grilled cheese sandwich. The Reuben was fantastic. The sauce was great. The sauerkraut was fresh and everything was perfect. I'm glad that the bread was not soggy. My kids love the grilled cheese sandwich sandwiches it was cheese heaven One thing that really made me emotional about this visit is that they have a sandwich dedicated to a good friend of ours who passed away some years ago who was a San Leandro local by the name of Keagan. They have his favorite sandwich in immortalized as an item on the manual and that brought it here to my eye. This is definitely a down home local spot, all of us San Leandro natives know how good this place is and what a gem it is Everybody there is friendly and makes you feel welcome

Hands down one of the best sandwich shops in the east Bay Area, if not THE best. They're dense with so much meat, sauce, veggies and what not. I've had a few sandwiches from Baras and they never disappoint. I also love that their interior has chips of all flavors, whatever size bag you want too! Oh, and their drink choices are anything from sparkling water to bottled sodas I don't see - unless I'm at a store. So it's nice that they offer a variety of drinks & chips to go with the amazing sandwiches. The employees are nice & you can tell they're hardworking especially during a rush hour, cause I'm sure this place gets busy. I've only ever gone when it's a bit calmer, but they're still busting out sandwiches for online orders and people in the shop. Always fast service & fresh Sammie's. I can't say I have a favorite sandwich since they're all really good, but you'll need to try for yourself.

I honestly don't understand the hype about Bara's Deli. The sandwich I had was extremely dry and lacked any real flavor. The bread didn't taste fresh, and overall the sandwich was pretty bland. For a place that gets so much buzz, I expected a lot more. Unfortunately, it was disappointing and not something I'd go back for. $27 for a dry sandwich, chips and drink

I love a good sandwich and this place hit the spot! It was busy Friday lunch for them, but they were able to pump out sandwiches pretty quickly. Waited maybe 10 min for them to make it. They have so many good options on their menu, but opted for a build your own sandwich of mortadella and jalapeño havarti on a soft roll with the works. First off, their garlic mayo sauce is BOMB, totally completed the sandwich. They also have soooooo many chip and drink options, you're bound to find something you like. PSA: make sure you grab your chips and drink BEFORE you order at the counter. They'll need to scan everything together to check you out.

Delicious, massive sandwiches. My husband's favorite food is sandwiches and that's what he wanted for his birthday meal, so we dropped by shortly after noon on a Tuesday. It was really busy from the time we walked in to the time we left. There are a handful of tables inside, but most people were taking their food to-go. Most of the tables were open by the time we ordered and went to sit down. This is a full service deli: multiple fridges, a large assortment of chips, multiple salads and antipastos, and of course, a huge variety of meats, breads, and toppings for sandwiches. You can either build your own sandwich or choose from one of the many house specialities. My husband got The Vatican (prosciutto, Genoa salami, soppressata with burrata cheese, garlic aioli, pesto, roasted red peppers, oil & balsamic vinegar on a sourdough roll), and I got the Cajun Salsalito Turkey (Cajun salsa turkey with jalapeño havarti with your selection of bread and toppings). These sandwiches aren't playing around -- they're huge and stuffed with ingredients. We ate these before going on a walk around Lake Chabot and even after miles of walking, I was still full. They're absolutely delicious. And despite the constant rush of both in-person and online orders, our food came out fast and was made to order. Staff were nice people, too. If you haven't had Bara's yet, it's worth the trip. Treat yourself.

I had the vegetarian with turkey added, it was pretty good, but had too much salt for me. I also ordered the tuna salad and they ran out and had to remake it. It was nice to see that everything was being made fresh in real time. The place is very clean and they have a lot of selections for chips and drinks.

This place has such great sandwiches! Their chicken salad Sammy is my fave! I ate here maybe 3 times. Lol. & have had different sammies each time! Lol. & needless to say, the chicken salad is my fave!

Definitely a hidden gem in San Leandro and one of the best sandwich spots in the area. I love that you can order online for pick up, it helps beat the line! They also have a variety of chips and drinks available. I really like the Bay Area special on Dutch crunch, add some pepperoncini and pickles and call it a day! But don't get me wrong, all of the sandwiches are hella good! Staff is always friendly when I come, and the inside is always clean. Def check it out if you're in the area!

There are two things that gets your attention right away when you come here. Number one it looks like a sandwich shop and number two it smells like a sandwich shop. You smell the meats, bread, dry herbs and cheeses. Real cheese smells like cheese. Let me tell you these guys are spot on. The service is fast compared to the number of people who line up, so you want to try to come early lunch time. By 12:45pm there will be a line.

We were wanting to eat at a sandwich place and saw this pop up on our feed. This is located in San Lorenzo and they have a decent amount of private parking shared with others. We decided to try it out. Was not disappointed. The staff was friendly. Was not busy so there was plenty of inside tables to sit at. Many choices of drinks by the wall frigs. Plenty of different sandwich choices and choices of chips. The prices though seem pretty high but good quality meat. Would come back again if in the area. [93R,2025]

First timer here. Just picked up a BAM BAM sandwich on Dutch Crunch with extra aioli. No kidding, this might be one of the best sandwiches I have ever had in my life. I normally go for hot sandwiches but not a single complaint here. HUGE portion of meat, soft bread, excellent ingredients. Don't forget to get potato salad too. Great service and chill vibes. I will be back!!

I wish there was 1/2 scores bc this place would be a 3.5. I didn't want to do a 4, it's too generous. Sandwich sizes are big. You can't choose your own size sandwich, or have it in a bowl, and some of us just don't eat bread. We arrived about 11 am not to busy inside but the take out orders were overflowing. Took a selfie at the selfie station, and ordered our food. Husband got the Italian combo, and I took the Cali turkey club. We both had mushy tomatoes on ours and it soured the taste. Other than that my husband loved his sandwich and the sides were fantastic, potato salad and olives! My turkey was dry, avocado was brown, and I was definitely underwhelmed.. From all the hype this place gets I really wanted to love it, but I think it's a 1 and done for me.

I returned to this place due to the good sandwiches and the customer service was appalling. I ordered online around 5PM, I guess that's too close to the closing time ,I don't know but the woman that works behind the counter is very rude and obviously hates her job. I tipped 15%, and I bought chips then I guess she was annoyed about because she actually had to make a physical transaction, she should have been happy to have had a customer because it was dead in there, but I guess my tip was too low for her. Good service makes the food taste better. I ordered my sandwich online thinking it would be more convenient for them and they did not update my order online so I did not know that it was ready. They should not offer the online service if you're not able to track your order. And my sandwich was not good, made in a rush, thickly sliced red onions, definitely not going back

Came here for the first time because I was craving a sandwich and saw the good reviews. It was okay. I ordered a roast beef sandwich, chicken salad sandwich and the pesto artichoke pasta salad. They were okay, The roast beef was starting to turn so I basically threw it away. I'm not going to risk getting food poisoning because of spoiled meat. There goes $13 down the drain. The chicken salad sandwich was decent. The service was disappointing and the reason for the three stars. The order was togo and the cashier kept asking if we wanted a bag. Of course we do, we had two sandwiches, salad, chips and a drink, and I didn't see you asking the other togo customers if they wanted a bag. Also, she didn't even check the order and thought it was only one sandwich. We had to show her the receipt and tell her what the order was. Don't you have a receipt or an order ticket to show you what the whole order is? Then when the sandwiches were ready she just threw the sandwiches and salad into the bag. Really, is that what you call customer service? Would you like it if someone threw your food into the bag? Wish I could have taken back the tip, they didn't deserve it. Will not be going back.

We were looking for a sandwich / takeout spot around the East Bay on Yelp, and landed on Bara's Deli. I liked the variety they had when I was initially looking at the menu, but I think it came to be one of those places that were good, but not great IMO. We ordered online and our order was ready by the time we arrived (~20 minutes). It was pretty empty for a Saturday morning, so we were in and out in as soon as we picked up our order. I ordered the Michelangelo (prosciutto and Italian salami, mozzarella cheese, basil, tomatoes, pepperoncini, oil & vinegar, and garlic aioli spread on a soft roll). They're GENEROUS with the portions here which I appreciated! Half of a sandwich ended up getting me full. For the sandwich itself, it was pretty well-made; I just wasn't a fan of how salty the prosciutto and salami tasted. I'd probably opt for a different sandwich in the future. I also tried the Heat Seeker and thought it was also just okay.

This is my go to spot for sandwiches!! Love the vibe and this has been a staple since my childhood! Highly recommend this place to anyone in town

First time here. I was at a tournament at Chabot and my daughter wanted a sandwich so I came by. The young lady at the counter was super sweet. I ordered the roast beef and the corned beef. These are in the top 5 sandwiches of all time. We just came from NYC and we know sandwiches Definitely a great choice. The meat was fresh and tender and seasoned excellent!

My sandwich was presented well except the stems were included on the lettuce that took away from it. Order placed thru delivery service. I found it astonishing that the same sandwich sold for $3 more on the sandwich that I ordered as opposed to pick up. Same ingredients, they charge additionally for some add-ons. Wanted to try and share find with friends, no thanks I'm out!!!!! Feel a little cheated!

tried the Bay Area Special sandwich and it was perfect. The bread was toasted just right, the meat was tender, and everything tasted fresh and full of flavor. The sauce brought the whole sandwich together without being too heavy. What really made the experience even better was the great service. The staff was friendly, quick, and made sure my order was exactly how I wanted it. Great food + great service -- can't beat that! Definitely recommending the Bay Area Special to anyone in the area!

Follow up to my last review: I went back to the restaurant the next day. I didn't get a chance to thank the manager as they weren't in the restaurant while I was there. That said, the staff were very friendly and my order was perfect. The sandwiches were huge and delicious. I'm so glad I went there myself. It was nice meeting the folks making my food. Give them a try if you're in the area.

I'll start by saying the sandwiches here are absolutely fantastic, some of the best I've had in the Bay Area. The bread is fresh, the meats are high-quality, and the flavors are spot on and unique. You can tell a lot of care goes into what they serve, and it shows with every bite. That said... the giant neon slogan on the wall ("We want to put our meat in your mouth") is pretty off-putting. I get that it's supposed to be cheeky and funny, but honestly it feels more gross than clever. The food is so good that it speaks for itself -- there's no need for gimmicky innuendos.

I honestly love everything about this place- it's such a chill spot to enjoy a sandwich and they have so many drink and chips options as well! Would def choose this over an Ike's or Mr. pickles if I lived closer. Despite there being a lot of people the service was very quick.

I cannot give any insight to the service, parking, or ambiance as this was a delivery order. Pricing is better when on the store according to their online menu versus the menu and prices off the delivery apps. The only reason I tried this place is that I was wanting a low carb option and they allow you to lettuce wrap your sandos. It was yummy and they didn't skimp on the protein. Tasted fresh with good quality. Portions are as expected. I recommend the staff to use less tape when wrapping the sandwiches as it was annoying and tricky to open properly

Service was quick even though it was my second time coming here and in the mid of lunchtime. Lots of people coming in. I ordered the same Reuben sandwich however this time I added the macaroni and potato salad. It's actually good not overwhelming flavor next time I'll try other side dishes. I played safe ordering the same sandwich and was in a hurry. Ambiance same clean area plenty of seats to wait on however I decided to wait outside.

The sandwich are big and very good the service is great i don't think you get better the price is $$$ and the only things i dont understand is u have to pay extra if you want cheese which should come with it

SAN FRANCISCO BAY AREA!! ITS your boy Dvsmax here this is the place for sandwiches. It competes with that one by Balboa pool you know. You have to try James Special it will rock your taste buds. Make sure to get a super cold soft drink and a bag of chips the meal was Fabulous service Please tip your people.

I was hungry after walking at Marina Park and checked my bookmarks for a new spot to check out. Bara's came up and I immediately scanned the menu. It always feels nice to support a local small business too. Eats: Caprese Panini + Grilled Chicken Garlic Beef Panini Cali Club x2 Small Caprese Salad Small Pesto Pasta Salad w/ Artichoke I also grabbed family size bags of Ruffles Cheddar & Sour Cream + Original Sun Chips. I dived into the cheesy Caprese panini first, couldn't wait so I ate in the car. Absolutely loved the melted cheese but the bread was soggy and wet from the tomato and pesto. Not sure if it's because the sandwich was prepared by someone being trained? Garlic beef was tasty. Cali club was loaded with ingredients: turkey, cheese, bacon and avocado. Would've liked the bread to be toasted. I wonder if I can request that next time. Toasted bread just elevates a sandwich to a whole new level. I appreciate how they packed the deli salad containers pretty full and took the time to make it look presentable as well. The mini mozzarella balls were layered nicely with fresh basil and plump grape tomatoes. Pesto pasta salad was simple but a great side to the cheesy paninis. I might add some chili flakes next time. I'll have to try the Michaelangelo sandwich which has salami and prosciutto. Check out their impressive back wall of various beverages! Cookies, brownies, and ice cream pints available for sweet tooths.

Love this place. Been here my whole life and have never been. Heard of it of course but ...shame on me. I went twice in one week and my mother's nurse came over and I was telling her about it and she actually went and got her lunch there. Absolutely perfect.

My daughter recommended this and she told us to order from here and it will be her treat lol. I ordered the Gobller with everything on it coz I want all kinds of flavor lol my hubby got the Chicken on ciabatta something something. Forgot the whole name lol. Everything was great and the place is clean. I love their simple decor. Reasonable price with ample parking. The staff were great as well. Definitely recommend this place. We will come back to try other stuff

Generous portion and fresh ingredients I ordered via SMS and the process was straight forward. I arrived 10 min earlier than the estimated ready time and the order was ready. I ordered the roast beef & horseradish white cheddar sandwich and the lemon pepper chicken club sandwich. Both are delicious with packed meat and fresh ingredients.

One of my fave deli in San Leandro! This place is good, pricey, yes but worth it. Their Dutch crunch bread is amazing. The customer service is good. Come check them up.

Came back to try the James' special which is chicken on a toasted buttermilk bread. I didn't know you could CHOOSE the seasoning if the chicken. What? Amazing. We got the chipotle chicken with the chipotle sauce. So, so, so good. The owner and staff are friendly, the drinks case is still one of the best I've seen (Palestine Cola was perfection), and lots of fun and interesting chips. I just noticed they have an "exotic" drinks and chips section behind the counter, for those always looking to try new and rare things. The vibe is nice inside. Clean, well-lit, busy. There are a lot of options, which can feel a bit daunting, but that's the fun of it.

I keep passing by this deli and not until I saw a review on IG did I think to stop by actually! I came in before noon and right after, the deli got busy. The wait wasn't too long for my order, about 15 minutes. First bite of that sandwich and I was in love! Loved the meats and the garlic flavor. Clam chowder is the best I've had in the Bay! I will definitely have to stop by more often!

They contacted me via email and made the credit adjustment. Just had an order delivered. sandwich was on the wrong bread and the chips I order were the smaller size. I paid for the larger size. I called there number that is a AI service. And it freezes and doesn't help leaving no way to contact them. I found an email address sent message no reply as of yet. Very frustrating that they can't be contacted. So disappointed
