We went to celebrate our Wedding Anniversary on a Sunday evening. We had reservation, so there was no waiting. Food was delicious and presentation was good. we ordered BBQ Duck Quesadilla, Seafood Mixto, Spinach salad with strawberries & soup, Pasta Primavera and BBQ Ribs. We got complimentary Cotton Candy with a small cake & candle inside it to celebrate our anniversary.

I was here in late October and it was setup for Halloween attire. First off, the atmosphere here is excellent. It's a bit dark in the main room with such unique and beautiful artwork. There are seats near the window / patio are for views overlooking the large pond outside. I was here with my lady and her sister for happy hour, which I highly recommend. We had the calamari, crab cakes, fries and of course drinks. They were all excellent! We did make a reservation as it is always busy here and you are likely to not get spot without a reservation or be waiting a very long time. The staff here was great, helpful, courteous, also a great add the the atmosphere. Great place for date night, having high-end great meals or hanging with friends.

This is very expensive experience but truly worth it. Attentive servers, Superbly crafted entrees of beautiful presentations and epic proportions...noisy but not obnoxious romantic for couples and provides intimate tables for groups of 8. Happy hour provides BOGO drinks, expect to pay $50 to $100 per person, recommend skipping appetizers as meals are substantial. Highly Recommended.

What great food and great times! The steak was delicious with the sauce. I reccomend ordering the steak on the hot rock because of the experience. It was fun and delicious. The seafood pasta was beyond delicious. I reccomend getting the lobster (extra cost) because it comes with the butter and who doesnt like lobster and butter? Lol

An absolutely fantastic dining experience! The fresh guacamole prepared right at the table was amazing — full of flavor and a great start to the meal. The meat was incredibly tender and cooked to perfection. The service was outstanding: our server was very attentive, helpful with recommendations, and always around when needed, but never intrusive — exactly what great service should be. Portions are generous, and the price-to-quality ratio is excellent. As visitors from Germany, we were truly impressed by both the food and the atmosphere. Highly recommended — we would definitely come back!

Barbacoa Grill Boise absolutely knocked it out of the park — our dinner felt like it was pulled straight from a romance novel with a hilarious twist. Managers Blake and Mike, along with our amazing server Christian, made sure we were spoiled rotten the entire night. Every time we thought the evening couldn’t get any better, they proved us wrong in the best way. Dining here was the Best. Decision. Ever. Our taste buds are still applauding.

Drinks show up right when you realize you want another sip. Service is present, sharp, and smooth — never interrupting the moment. This isn’t a casual drop-in spot. It’s a place for marking something: a decision, a reunion, a night you want to remember clearly. You don’t leave thinking “that was a good dinner.” You leave thinking, that was an experience — and it knew exactly what it was doing.

Traveling from LA to Boise for business. After settling into our hotel we headed out to dinner at Barbacoa. Having been to many great restaurants up and down the California coast I wasn't expecting much more than a nice dinner out and to my surprise it turned out to be one of best dining experiences under my belt. The food was so very savory and flavorful. Gourmet for sure in my book. The presentation was lots of fun, engaging very welcoming. Service was on point and very tentative especially considering how busy they were. Friday night what can I say. It was a great time. The restaurant was very stylish with a red themed vibe which made it alluring and relaxing. Trendy but setting the pace in their own way. Another one of many good reasons to return to Boise.

I've heard this place described as rainforest cafe meets five star dining. Hard to disagree with that assessment. Everything on the menu sounded appetizing to Jimi. Went to the bathroom three times while I was there, world record? Nothing to do with the food, it's a Jimi issue. Bathrooms lacked some clear signage to indicate which one is which but Jimi guessed right. The attire of the patrons ranged from senior prom to Party at the Park in Gilbert AZ and everything in between. There was a narrow passageway between two booths Jimi had to use to get to and from his table and let's just say the passage way got more narrow the more food was consumed. It was kinda like the hot gates in the movie 300. 5 stars

Great decor and location, especially with Halloween additions. Service is always top notch at this restaurant and their others. Love their "BOGO" (buy one, get one) drink specials during happy hour. Everyone loved their meals. The rib entree is HUGE (sorry, no pics). Definitely need a to-go box. My carne asada could have used some more seasoning. Chose the hot rock and sauce and even though the sauce is delicious, it doesn't say "carne asada". Could have had some different and additional sides to make your own tacos but still a good dish. Would not order this entree again with all of the other good options. Would some here again.

Boise's BEST You will never be disappointed by the perfection of the experience!! From the scenery, staff, food, drinks, desert its just out of this world GOOD!!! If its your first time in Boise it should be #1 choice on your list!!

Absolutely top notch ambiance! This is a top notch special occasion place to visit. The food is fun and tasty as well. Back when I lived in Idaho, this was a less than a mile from my apartment and Id walk by it all the time and be amazed by how beautiful it was! Well, I was able to visit twice during my 5 years in Idaho and was in awe both times! It has been a few years since I have been but I have fond memories of the table made guacamole as well as the cotton candy dessert! Great service and interior design as well. I wish I took pictures during my visits! Go go go!

We went to Barbacoa in downtown Boise for a birthday celebration and it was an incredible experience! The food was amazing from start to finish. We started with the table side guacamole, which came with both chips and vegetables for dipping. For our entrées, we had the lamb chops, two hot rock steaks, and the paella, and every dish was cooked perfectly and full of flavor. For dessert, they brought out a cotton candy cake with a flourless chocolate cake hidden inside, complete with a birthday candle. We also tried the cheesecake bites and the bananas foster, and they were all delicious. The service was excellent throughout the night. Prices are on the higher side, but this is definitely a high end spot perfect for special occasions, and worth every penny. We sat inside, but with the doors open we enjoyed beautiful views of the mountains and pond, which made the evening even better. I highly recommend Barbacoa, especially if you're celebrating something special!

Celebrating my daughter's 21st birthday was truly special, and Barbacoa Grill made it so memorable. The warm atmosphere and attentive service created a sense of belonging that made the night very meaningful. The table-side guacamole bar is a must--it added an extra glow to the celebration! The BOGO drinks were a delightful touch. The BBQ chicken--I enjoyed it alongside my daughter's partner--was generously loaded with delicious pasta and tender chicken, almost overwhelming in its goodness, but I couldn't resist. It felt like an endless feast. My son loved his steak sandwich, and my wife enjoyed the Spanish linguine--all wonderful dishes that contributed to a joyful and heartfelt celebration.

The service, the food, the ambiance and the location were exceptional. Nestled along the Boise River is this upscale restaurant with a Latino flair. We started with the bar b q ribs that were cooked to perfection. The paella was delicious but oversized and just as delicious the next day. The enchilada cordera was stuffed with lamb and avocado and was also delicious. The desserts looked delicious but unfortunately we had no room for them. We will definitely have to go back.

I ordered the Duck Two Ways, and it was hands down one of the best duck dishes I've ever had. The confit was fall-off-the-bone tender with rich, deep flavor, and the seared duck breast was perfectly cooked--crispy skin, juicy interior, and seasoned just right. The plating was elegant and generous, with accompaniments that elevated every bite. The ambiance is truly unforgettable. Think bold, dramatic decor--cowhide chairs, shimmering chandeliers, statues, and textured walls that make the entire space feel like a blend between an art museum and a sultry Latin lounge. I sat upstairs with a view of the water and twinkling lights--absolutely magical. The vibe is upscale yet warm, perfect for a special occasion or just treating yourself to a night out. Service was top-notch. Our server was friendly, knowledgeable, and timed everything perfectly. They even walked us through the best way to enjoy the hot rock steak at the next table, which we're definitely trying next time! If you're in Boise and looking for an unforgettable meal with style, flavor, and flair--Barbacoa Grill is it.

What an experience!! The flaming steak was so dope! We got the artichoke fritters for an appetizer because another reviewer said they were good...they were just okay. The artichokes weren't super tender and a little stringy. Maybe just not in season...but im also from california so maybe im spoiled!! We got the porterhouse for 2...2.5lbs of meat!! Amazing!! Highly recommend the cognac sauce to dip your steak in. The BBQ sauce one and the other one (can't remember the name) were just weird. Why would you put BBQ sauce on steak?! Anyhoo...for Sides we got the wild mushrooms and baked potato. Both delicious! Our server was sweet and very attentive. My husband got the Huckleberry cocktail and it was pretty darned good. We would def go back!! The interior is interesting...lots to look at but not super gaudy or anything.

Service was phenomenal. They brought out a cotton candy tower with a brownie in the center. The presentation was on the steak was exceptional. Ambience was lovely.

This gave me the sensation of a wizard of oz sort of thing! I have to say, I have wanted to come here for a long time! Actually stopped in once but wanted to watch a little NBA and have a bite but, No TVs! This is a beautiful space, gorgeous view of the mountains, doors open, the water there...breathtaking! Inside is very much the same but maybe a decorator that did a little too much coke, that's just a guess! I have to say, big fan of good food, presentation, creativity, flair...hell that is a huge part of food, culture, flavors! Also I will add that is something that I am very willing to pay for, tip for and appreciate. This did that, tried at least, way over the top...much like the decor! It's weird to have a Spanish style restaurant that has very few vegetable dishes! They have a separate menu for vegetarian and Vegan but you have to ask for it? The main menu is void of vegetable dishes, tons of seafood which is good for the most part! I admit, as a pescatarian I no longer eat meat, but I did spend 53 years as a carnivore and know a lot about meat! This looks like a steakhouse but with some weird presentation things in my opinion! I had the Trout, on a wood plank...table mixed it up with dishes. Birthday boy did the ribeye, medium (remember that). Now the Trout was ok, well cooked, nice sauce. Now the presentation included pouring a little alcohol on the plate to "bring out the flavor of the wood"! Now, one of the best fish dishes I have ever had was at a sushi place where they placed the fish, wrapped in foil in a plate of saki and they let it burn for about 15 minutes....when the saki burned out the fish was perfectly done...amazing flavor...this was not that! This was show. The wood plank literally served no purpose other than justify the $40. There was no char to the wood...fyi the flavor comes when the wood chars...It came with giant broccoli with a nice cheese sauce and some seriously dry and bland rice! All presentation with very little follow through. The birthday boy with the steak had it on a hot rock, flambéed ...it's a good thing it was on a stone since it was more rare than he ordered. Now, what to do if you don't want to be responsible for cooking a steak right, we'll serve it on a hot stone of course and suggest he cut it in small cubes and let it cook! Seriously?? You flow beef in from Italy, raise it in the US (don't see how that would improve anything? An animal is all about what it eats and how it's raised, being from Italy means nothing when it's raised like us cattle?). If you truly love steak, you know it's all about the preparation, the heat, the simple spices and getting it just right, for that cut, for that dish! Or, serve it on a hot stone so it cooks itself...at some point, to what the customer ORDERED! The beginning was a bourbon manhattan...on a single rock was the order! It came in a beautiful glass with an ice glass inside it, never seen that before! If you appreciate Bourbon, or many alcohols, you know how fast the ice melts affects the drink, the flavor of the alcohol, a good bartender (like a good steak chef) knows this! Presentation on this, 10, actual drinkability, damn near zero! It was horrible! I can see this as a great place to bring a date, impress someone, a client, a person you're trying to impress, have a fun night! If you want to have a great dining experience, I can think of a lot of places that are equally priced but the food will be a few levels ahead...the drinks will be better, maybe less fire, flair and sparkle...but I guess it's what your goal is! Ending note...love seeing Paella the menu...a Spanish dish that is all about the time, the preparation, the crust of the rice...if it wasn't for the meat (which is very common) I would have ordered...curious about that and how it would be, look, taste...seeing it on the vegetarian menu was a odd and worrying thing! You can't tell me a dish that takes time and preparation is taken seriously when it's on a menu you don't even promote! This tells me they are not in it for the love of the food, unless it has meat in it and that's just lazy! It's easy to make meat dishes taste amazing...cooking a vegetable with a load of flavor and texture takes skill! Look at some Spanish dish recipes, all about amazing vegetables...maybe this should be a 2 Star? KT

Loud and lots of 30 something's waiting to be seen on a Friday night. My husband's food came out 20 minutes after mine. He liked his after it arrived, but I was so so on my way overdressed salad. Not good. Weird they don't have badly needed salt and pepper for you at the table but you have to flag down a person a few times throughout your meal with a crazy oversized gigantic 4' ridiculous pepper grinder for your food. Then we had to order salt to be delivered to our table. Anyway the mixed drinks were really nice at the bar and they really know what they are doing with their cocktails. Sadly it did not translate to the dinner table. Ambiance is ok. Eclectic. Kind of a centralized very large hanging demonic sculpture in the middle of the bar area with snake heads coming out. We won't go back but checked it off our list.

First time going to barbacoa and the experience was great our server was attentive fast and the place is huge busy but it didn't sound super loud the view from our table was great the drinks where absolutely done to perfection and so refreshing for a Saturday evening. The bar on top was busy and a live with great music from the DJ. The food wow I loved my salmon it was cooked perfectly the flavor was amazing the appetizers also.

Great food but all the beef although was delicious but undercooked and we had to use the rock from my husband's lamb chops! We love this place and Abigail and Eli were awesome and we loved the entire Experience and the plating!! It was a great night.

Table side guacamole tasted amazing! I opted in for their special that night and got a hot rock blue cheese crusted rib eye, it was cooked to perfection and the hot rock flames were definitely fun! The atmosphere was beautiful

Came in for a birthday and enjoyed the unique environment and interior! The restaurant has lots of history on the walls and the waitress was kind enough to explain all the art work and how the building came about. Apparently, it burnt down in the past! For food, I mostly enjoyed the handmade guac because they will smash it all up and make it right in front of you. Tasted fresh! The fritters were also delicious for starters. Definitely try the chicken pot pie as well! We also got the filet mignon tips pasta and carne asada. The pasta was fine but I would ask for the meat to be on the side. I asked for medium rare but it came out as fully medium or well done as they cook it with the pasta. Maybe I could also ask for rare to get "medium rare." I wish they would have maybe mentioned this to me prior to ordering because I hate tough meat! The carne asada was okay. Nothing special. We also got the fried ice cream but was disappointed to see that the ice cream was not "fried." Then why call it fried ice cream?!? Lol.. it was just vanilla ice cream with some sort of light cinnamon powder around it? Anyways, I'm feeling mixed because I really loved the appetizers but the entrees were just okay. Prices are more expensive here. Expect to pay $30+ per person. Great for date night and or friends. I'd like to come back try some other menu items.

This place is a total vibe. The decor will leave you looking wall to wall to roof to floor non stop. There is so much to see and take in. It's obvious this place is serious about providing top service. You'll receive top notch service from the host to the guacamole maker. We had a group of 5 for a business dinner. Our server was very attentive and knowledgeable of the menu. We did the guac appetizer which is made table side and it's delish. They have hot stone steak which not only looks amazing but is a show at the table. I had the special which was salmon with a cashew crust. It was moist and delish. Will def be back anytime I am in Boise.

I have to say, This was a fantastic place! the location is right on a lake where people can fish and enjoy.. If you get or request a table with lake view, it's worth it. This is a large restaurant. You can either dress up or down, great for people who love hearing people laugh, talk and enjoy their meal. waiters and waitresses everywhere ensuring that everyone is enjoying their dinner. The alcoholic drinks were good. we went for happy hour. You can get any drink ($15 or less) for a buy one get one free. The drink you pick is required to be the same for the free one as well. The drinks are not very strong but still tasty. we got the fried artichoke appetizer and it was great! Decent amount of food service with a creamy lightly sweet sauce to dip. We ordered was the Hot rock 10 oz filet mignon, a side of mashed potatoes and a cognac sauce (boozy brown gravy) that they light on fire and pour on your steak... It is fantastic! I highly recommend it. Our waiters and waitresses were super nice. Here is why it's a 4 star and not a 5 star. My mom called ahead and made a reservation for a patio table with a good view of the lake. We got there and they tried to seat us inside, in a back room with no view of the lake and with no windows. My mom mentioned it and the woman tried to accommodate.. however she sat our party at a tall table right next to the bar and we had someone in our party that is handicapped and was not going to be able to sit at a tall table. My mom mentioned it and the manager came over. He was nice but it seemed like he was not too happy with us wanting a different table. This is the second time my mother has made a reservation and had the same thing happen. This time we couldn't just ignore it since our friend who is handicapped was having pain in her leg from the tall chair. Despite how the manager may have felt, he was pleasant and helped us figure it out. They let us sit outside at a low table and it was a fantastic location. If we make a reservation next time and everything goes well I would be willing to change my stars to a 5. It really was a good experience once the seating issue was resolved.

This place has an energy that makes you forget espresso or redbull exist! It's electric and fasinating! From the food, seating, decor, service and even the bathrooms are such a vibe! We love the green salad so much and the steak and shrimp! The mad rabbit drink is my favorite! Lisa was our waitress and she was such a delight to have. Shes spunky and attentive! We will never miss a time to stop here!

This was my first time visiting. We had reservations that we made 2 weeks in advanced. It's a very popular restaurant so I definitely recommend getting a reservation weeks ahead. We were sat outside with a beautiful view of the lake. We ordered the oysters for our appetizer. The most popular appetizer is the tables use guacamole, but I wasn't that interested. They make it at your table. The oysters were delicious. I could've ate 10 more of them! Served with lemon, cocktail sauce and a relish. I didn't care for the relish but the cocktail sauce was so good. For my drinks I ordered the lemon drop and the spicy margarita. The lemon drop was a little funny cause the cup was made of ice. Cool experience but I didn't necessarily care for it lol. For our entrees, we ordered the New York with zucchini fries and the rack of ribs with mashed potatoes. The ribs were delicious with the bbq sauce on the side. And it was $45 which is such a steal! The steak had a chimichurri sauce and it was so good. Our steak was cooked to perfection. For dessert, we ordered the crème brulee which was to die for. It was perfect. We waddled out of there with our belly's full.

Lively, with some cool, eclectic decor. They have electronic/house music playing, but it's not super loud and fits the vibe. Open seating in the lounge area so got a seat right away about 8pm on a Saturday evening. It was about an hour wait for the patio area. Our server Angela was great, she gave good recommendation, helped with pairings, and checked in often. I loved how they give complimentary sparkling water. The octopus was tender and slightly charred, and delicious when dipped with the chimichuri and aoli sauce. I really appreciate how they brought appetizer plates then fresh entree sharing plates with fresh utinsils. The crispy onions were a little cold, but the rest of the sides were good. Sides that come with the meal are individually sized. You can also get some freshly chopped jalapeños on request. The hot stone steak was a really cool flame presentation and was seasoned to perfection. Ordered medium rare, and came out just a little on the rare side, allowing more time to cook on the stone after the server dropped it off.

The first thing I was told when I got to Boise was "you have to check out barbacoa." The people were not wrong. We had an amazing assortment of fresh seafood, steak, and pasta. We then closed our night out with the infamous "deal closer dessert." A massive ice cream cake with a sexy presentation. I am leaving this place heavily satisfied and missing the folks at the restaurant. Massive shoutout to Dante who was looking after us and making sure we were taken care of. Another shoutout to Lisa our server who gave us phenomenal recommendations. If you are visiting Boise this is the spot to check out.

What a fun place! Decor is a collaboration from multiple artists, and the food is great too. Love the table side presentation of the Guac (made to your spice preferences), and my duck was great. Others at our table chose the fiery hot plate, which looked amazing and shot up a flame about two feet high! Ended with a sweet treat for a great night out.

Came with a group of 7 we ordered the table side guacamole, just yum! For an entree my husband ordered the pork chop with a quail, spectacular presentation. I had a bite of his pork chop it was the best pork chop I have ever had in my life hands down! Our friends ordered the steak for two, they gave me a bite and also so good. I ordered the halibut, I love halibut, but this one was so fishy for some reason, I had buyers remorse, but I didn't want to send it back. The flavor profiles sound so strange, but key ne tell you they work. If you are in Boise you HAVE to try this place.

Visiting from out of town and this place came highly recommended! Parking is tight so be prepared. Definitely make reservations in advance if you can! I was with a group of 4 and reservations were unavailable but were told one side of the seating area was "first come first serve." Me and my friends decided to test our luck and show up to find seats on a Saturday night. We did manage to grab 4 seats at the bar which worked out great with no wait. The decor is unique and if you can manage to grab a table by the windows, the views are stunning. The service was great at the bar and they were very attentive given how busy they were. As for my food...delicious! I got the "New York" which was a 16oz boneless NY on a hot plate served with chimichurri, flamed cognac sauce, and choice of side priced at $54. To my surprise, I finished the whole thing. My friends were less impressed with their dishes but I thoroughly enjoyed mine. We also came at the right time for the bogo drinks. Overall food, presentation, and service were great!

Went here for dinner and the food was amazing and staff were exceptional and so friendly. The vibe in the restaurant is really cool and moody. Knocked off stars due to not having a changing table in the woman's bathroom and not being offered a high chair (no idea if they even had these, I could have asked but was overwhelmed). Definitely recommend going here but not baby friendly.

Went here for my birthday and had such a good time! You get free cotton candy for your bday! They have an excellent dirty martini as well! Get the hot rock of course!!

Last night, was incredible and I'm so glad I was able to come and experience their dinner service. Luckily, we had called to make a reservation the day prior. I'm glad we did because it was quite busy when we arrived. We were seated right away. Our waitress was quick to get our drink order. We each started with a glass of Malbec and half a dozen oysters. The restaurant is gorgeous and had an upscale vibe. They kept our waters full and removed things as soon as we were finished. Everyone was friendly and ready to offer assistance. For dinner, I had the filet served on a hot rock, I chose the broccoli with chili flakes as my side and my friend had the NY steak also served on a hot rock with the risotto. The steaks were huge and cooked perfectly. I had a second glass of wine and my friend ordered a margarita called the heat. We both were way too full to have dessert. After dinner, we moved to the bar. I remembered Eric from our last visit. He is friendly and made us each the heat margarita. I thoroughly enjoyed everything and now I'm looking forward to visiting, Coa Del Mar.

Our server, Tim, was incredible. He was friendly, personable, and put up with my sons' bickering. He never made us feel pressured to leave after eating, even though we stayed for just over 3 hours. The food was incredible as well - the custom guacamole was devoured very quickly, and everyone was quite satisfied with their food, except my mother's friend, whose steak was a little too rare. The manager personally came out to deliver her new one, which was perfect. I liked the screens with the painting process videos.

One of my favorite restaurants for special occasions and to impress guests. Always greeted by lovely ladies and escort us to our table. The servers and assistant are always excellent. The menu is very good and prices are reasonable. We arrived during happy hour and loved our food and drinks. A must go

My boyfriend made reservations for us on Valentine's Day, and from the moment we arrived, the experience felt special. When we checked in, the host asked for my name--not just the reservation name--because they had a little surprise for all the women. The restaurant had beautifully arranged a bouquet of roses for each woman, which was such a thoughtful gesture. They offered a special Valentine's Day menu, and everything we ordered was delicious. The drinks were great, the service was excellent, and our waiter was truly amazing. I'd love to come back again to try their regular menu next time I'm in town!

I have no idea why this place has four stars????? We went to dinner there to night, my first time as my wife and I were invited by our neighbors. Let me give you a run down. 1st, the decor is over the top, great atmosphere and the staff is over the top friendly and attentive. The drinks at the bar are fantastic and the happy hour is off the hook. We had eight people in our party and our wait person ( Ashland) was on top of everything from her knowledge of the menu and the dinner specials to dessert. What was so impressing was our dinner all came out with eight waiters serving us. The Duck was incredibly delicious, cooked to perfection. To the flaming filet mignon with the cognac reduction sauce, Yum Yum. To the filet mignon beef tips fettuccine, which was so incredible to the kids having a small pepperoni pizza and nachos. Everything was over the top, if you eat there and only give this place four stars you have missed something, this is a five star restaurant all day long. Wish I would've discovered this place a year ago, but I'm glad that I found it now . Our hat is off to the Whole staff at this restaurant they made our evening absolutely unforgettable

I have been going to Barbacoa a few times every year, for many years, as a go-to "great food" restaurant in Boise. My last two times there were not up to par. The food was not bad, but just not 'excellent' like it used to be. The Servers and staff were still Excellent.

My wife picked this place for her birthday dinner. We got there just in time to take full advantage of the happy hour deal, buy one drink, get one free. She ordered the special they had that day, the California Sea Bass, and I picked the Scallops they came as four large ones. The scallops were great. The Sea Bass was quite good. Now the service there is first class. With sitting outside, viewing the lake, and enjoying a good meal, it was a good evening. Although my wife was not a fan of the bday cotton candy she got. She would have enjoyed something different.

This place is indescribable. So much history and randomness and extra but also, fascinating?? From the decor to the menu! Highly recommend trying to get a table facing the lake, beautiful! The table side guac is a must. Devon made ours, and he was exceptional. Elyzabeth H was our waitress, and she was so sweet and attentive. The entire staff is top notch when it comes to customer service. I do wish I would've been told when something cost extra (like being offered the ice glass but not being told it'd cost more) or had happy hour explaining a little better (I don't think it was clear it's buy one, get one for the SAME drink, not the same priced drink). However, everything else was so great that I'm not knocking them. This place is an experience versus just a place to eat!

Had heard so many good things about this place and came before Abe army flight the next day. It was bustling and we didn't have a reservation but they were able to seat us by the bar. We ordered the table side guacamole which was phenomenal. I ordered an amazing seafood pasta (seafood mixto) and my friends had steak and Ciopinno. The food here is like Mexican Italian fusion and it's so fun! The scallops and shrimp were perfectly prepared and the service was exceptional! We enjoyed every bite! The ambiance was great for the bar and the restaurant also looked nice with ample seating!

A lot has changed in the last nine years, and each time I came back here, I liked it more and more! Maybe I was poor student at the time I went 9 years ago and gave it not enough credit. This place is a vibe. The service is now really great! The food is top notch , and one of my favorite places in Boise every time I come to visit! Great for drinks, great for dinner, great for patio! It's a great restaurant for the growing city! And I'll Happily go back again and again! Cheers!

Great food, very friendly and attentive staff and fun ambiance. We had an anniversary dinner there and it went really well.

Visiting from out of town, many many people told us to come visit Barbacoa. My girlfriends and I came for dinner on a Friday night for a 9pm reservation. We did the table side guac, and I had the duck quesadillas and the tuna tartare. Both were delicious. The quesadilla was much bigger than I was expecting from the appetizer menu, but I was thoroughly stuffed by the end. For dessert I had the flourless chocolate cake, which was so rich and decadent. I think my friends thought their meals were maybe worthy of three stars, but I thought our waitstaff was very helpful and the visit was very very nice.

The table side guacamole is perfection!!! I could eat it all day long. This place is a whole vibe!!! The bartenders were great.
