Barbakoa by Finka Arrives in Doral Yard - Eater Miami

"Eileen Andrade, mastermind behind longtime West Kendall favorite Finka Table & Tap, has officially debuted her much anticipated project Barbakoa by Finka inside Doral Yard. The full service restaurant offers a menu filled with Andrade’s signature Latin-Asian fusion cuisine. To begin the meal guests can dine on a variety of shareable dishes like chicken fried alligator, wok-fired okra, and loaded Spanish boniato fries with vaca frita. Larger items like smoked brisket with aji amarillo mac n’ cheese, Korean-style frita burger, grilled lamb chops, vaca frita tiffin, and oxtail fried rice can be found. Shareable dishes like 32-ounce ribeye, whole roasted fish of the day, and bone-in pork chop can also be found. Rounding out the menu are a variety of unique pizza topped with everything from bulgolgi steak or shrimp and maduros. The space itself is inspired by nature using materials like wood and leather set in a green and neutral colored room. The indoor and outdoor space also boasts an open kitchen so guests can watch their meals being created in front of them as well as a private “Green House” room for events." - Olee Fowler

Ever since the pandemic, my expectations of dining experiences have been very low to keep myself from being disappointed. My bf and I came to Barbakoa to try it on a whim. We were BLOWN away by the flavors of the food. The music is good and uptempo, the decor matches the menu, the bartenders are entertaining and the service was spectacular but the FOOD. Omg the food was perfectly cooked & seasoned and the pricing made sense ! Ive been to places three times the price with less than half the taste and value. We will be back despite the 45 minute drive.

The Latin Asian fusion food at this place was fantastic. We decided to sit outside and enjoy the nice weather while sipping on some beers. We ordered the grilled octopus, shrimp kale salad, and a pizza, and everything was delicious. My personal favorites were the octopus and kale salad. The service was also great.

I was excited to try the new restaurant of chef Eileen Andrade and it did not disappoint. Excellent cocktails and happy hour menu. The staff was courteous and accommodating. The food was absolutely delicious. They have a diverse and flavorful menu. The ambiance is what you would expect of one of her restaurants, comparable to Finka.

We went for lunch with coworkers and had a good time. Service was great, and the ambiance was amazing. However. I'm not a super fan of the food. We ordered several dishes to try, and the presentation was great and had a good flavor, depending on the plate. Mc and cheese, fries, and all that stuff was good, but parrilla (steak) was cold and with a strange red sauce. The same for pulpo that was very dry. I was really expecting way more and higher quality for the price. It's not a bad idea if you like good vmfull of condiments. I like more natural flavors, so I was less than expected. Worth to try, but not one of my favorites

We had a great family outing to Doral Yard on a Wednesday, enjoying the cool atmosphere and delicious food and drink. Their unique drinks on the menu are refreshing and easy to drink too quickly if you're not careful. I highly recommend the burnt tips as an appetizer, the sauce that it comes on top of was absolutely phenomenal, so good in fact, that I was asking for the recipe afterwards lol. I also had the brisket that comes with a side of corn and creamy and flavor packed mac and cheese. It's my favorite thing I've had on the menu so far out of the things I've tried. I would definitely recommend for people looking to enjoy an awesome atmosphere without having to go all the way downtown and endure the traffic and other hustle and bustle.

Google
For a delectable experience with rich flavors in both its menu and cocktails, I highly recommend 100% Barbacoa by Finca. I visit this place once a month, and with each visit, my enjoyment grows. If you decide to go, I suggest taking a seat at the bar to relish in the show put on by Marlon, the bartender, and savor his classic cocktails crafted to perfection. It's a monthly delight that never fails to impress!

Had an amazing time at barbakoa over the week. We were a walk in and GM Ana was able to accommodate our party of 2 at the bar while waiting for our table to be ready for a party of 4. whipped up some amazing cocktails(Berry-superstitious & Tequilin me small). We start with some croquetas and burnt ends cooked to perfection by the chef! (Chef Vinnie) We later moved to our table and Sebastian our server greeted me & my family with enthusiasm, making jokes and making us feel at home. We had a few more tapas such as Ceaser chicken salad, Ceviche and the loaded boniato fries! Also cooked to perfection. We then finished with a bread pudding. Pudding was nice and warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream on top. All in all, definitely recommend and had an amazing time with an amazing staff! Will be back!

After a very fun cruise (July 2023), we settled into our hotel room and took an Uber to Barbakoa by Finka. When you walk in, it's like a modern jungle theme with fresh fruit visible and in heavy use at the bar. We ordered brisket burnt ends for our appetizer and we ate it all! Since we were in Miami, I'd been experimenting with asking the bartender to concoct a cocktail based on what base liquor I desired. Our bartender overdelivered on this "dealer's choice" ask. It was soo good, I ordered 4 of them back to back. My friend had a Berry Superstitious and Reyka that was so pretty. She also ordered a Caesar Salad that had grilled lemon with it and we shared a Pepperoni Pie to satisfy our pizza cravings. It was seriously the best thick crust pizza I've ever had in my entire life! Whenever I'm back in Miami, I plan to return there for EVERYTHING!

Yelp
I've been trying to make my way to this restaurant for the past few months. When I heard they were closing, I was a bit shocked based on reviews, but I made my way over lol. I have no clue why it's closing. My experience here was amazing!! The drinks and food 10/10. Great music playing and not too loud. Our service was also 10/10. Although I've only been once, I'm glad I finally got to experience it.

Yelp
Man oh man.. everything just tasted so great.. def one of the biggest standouts for me was that I've had similar offerings (some of them) at other restaurants.. here they do it so much better! From the burnt ends to the corn ribs, to the octopus, and even the shishito pepper.. Their version is next level!! Place looks great. Comfortable and upscale feel. And the staff is just amazing. Literally, everyone we interacted with. Great for friends, on a date, or even dining alone. It was awesome and I'll b back!

Yelp
Come with me to Barbakoa by Finka located in Doral. We went to Downtown Doral without a specific plan and after passing by a few restaurants we decided to sit down at Barbakoa to have drinks and apps. To drink I had "El Caballero de Paris" and my friend had vodka with pineapple juice. What sold me on " El Caballero de Paris" is that is made with Brugal 1888 a Dominican rum, the drink was a lot like an Old Fashioned which I enjoyed. I also tried my friend's drink, it was really good and the pineapple juice was fresh. For apps from the moment we decided on Barbakoa, I knew I wanted their Mac n' Cheese, I had it a while back and it left a lasting impression. The Mac n' Cheese is topped with Short Rib and Bacon, which adds to the already cheesy deliciousness. My friend decided on the Brisket Burnt Ends. We both enjoyed the Mac n' Cheese. Overall, Barbakoa was awesome. The service was excellent, and Juan and Christian were very attentive.

Yelp
We made an early 6 PM reservation, because our two year old granddaughter was going to join us for dinner this evening. Our table for four, plus one highchair was waiting for us upon our arrival. Mellisa our waitress greeted us upon sitting down and she was perfect for the evening. We began the evening by ordering a libation and a glass of wine as we waited for the others to arrive. We ordered three appetizers that were delicious, and then we ordered our entrées for the evening. While all of them were very good the fried whole fish was the best out of the group. This evening we were celebrating a birthday and the evening, concluded with the bread pudding with ice cream And fireworks candles at our table. This place never disappoints we will be sure to return in the near future.

Yelp
I recently had the pleasure of dining here and I must say, it exceeded all my expectations. The modern ambiance is incredibly inviting, with a very cool vibe that makes you feel instantly relaxed. The beautiful bar adds a touch of elegance to the space, making it a perfect spot for both casual drinks and special occasions. The atmosphere is simply lovely, combining sophistication with a warm, welcoming feel. And the food? Absolutely delicious! If you're looking for a place to enjoy a night out with friends or a memorable dining experience, this restaurant is definitely a top choice. Highly recommended!

Yelp
This place should be 5 stars. Everything they touch is just incredible. From the appetizers (croquets, mussels, brisket burnt ends, and the Mac and cheese) and for dinners/sharables (miso carbonara, oxtail fried rice, and the bulgogi pie). What I love more than the food, are the drinks. The cocktails are made with so much thought. If you sit at the bar and they aren't busy they will ask what you like and make their own spin, never disappoints. Not only are the food & drinks spot on, but their service is always phenomenal. We've never had a bad time and look forward to stopping by.

Yelp
Great spot. Loved the food. The servers were friendly and helpful The atmosphere was cool. Kinda trendy. Dug it. We had a few different diet restrictions and everyone was able to order without an issue. Everyone was happy with their dishes. I'd happily come back and explore the menu a bit more!

Yelp
This review is for their take out. I've been wanting to check out FINKA for awhile now and my husband told me about this place. While staying at the Biltmore in Coral Gables we didn't want to leave and ended up ordering food from Barbakoa instead. Our food came quick even though it was a little far. We ended up getting the croquettas, grilled octopus, and their popular oxtail fried rice. Everything was so flavorful and the portions were pretty large. The octopus was so meaty and delicious and came with some potatoes. We loved it. The croquettas were large balls and were full of flavor and meat. The oxtail fried rice was the best! It had a fried egg on top and the rice part was blasting with flavor. We couldn't even finish everything because it was so much food. We were so satisfied. I think we paid around $65 for all 3 items. I sadly wasn't able to dine there but we would definitely consider it the next time we are in town.

Yelp
This place was absolutely phenomenal! Everything was absolutely delicious. For the apps, please start off with the burnt ends!!! They were sooo delicious. We also got the croquetas which were of course the best and the lite corn ribs which were very tasty! I got the berry superstitious and it was so refreshing and flavorful. Our waitress gave excellent recommendations and was very attentive making sure we were enjoying all of our food and drinks. The entrees were out of this world. I got the smoked brisket and it just melted in my mouth! The Mac and cheese had SO much flavor. My fiancé ordered the oxtail fried rice and just omg. Sooo much flavor jam packed into one dish. It was superb. Lastly, the restaurant itself was so chic and beautiful! If you're visit Doral Yard, it's definitely worth a moment to stop by in this restaurant for a drinks and some apps at least!

Yelp
Birthday celebration at Barbakoa by Finka on Saturday, September 21, 2024. The food was amazing, the service, the server Dominique was professional, very nice and took all 20 people orders correct. Third time I visit Barbakoa by Finka and always left very happy with the food and service is too bad is closing on the 22nd of this month. When we arrived on Saturday the 21, the table was ready and I was able to decorated for the birthday celebration. Good luck to all the employees and I hope Chef Eileen Andrade brings another iconic Latin-Asian Fusion to another location in Miami. For now we can all enjoy Amelia and Finka Restaurant.

Yelp
Came on a Saturday night. Although we didn't have any reservations, we were able to get a table inside, they said as long as we were done before 9pm when another party reserved that time. Got the mac and cheese, Elote corn ribs, and the oxtail fried rice to share amongst 3 people. The mac and cheese ($15) was quite rich and topped with crispy short rib. Definitely aesthetically pleasing, I can definitely see why this was ordered a lot by other Yelpers. Would definitely consider getting again. The Elote corn ribs ($18) were fresh and juicy. The kimchi crema and queso fresca made the sauce nice and creamy with a spicy kick. The oxtail fried rice ($29) was also good, came with fatty chunks of oxtail. I'm not sure if I would get again though since it was on the pricier side for fried rice at $29 and I'd want to try other things on the menu instead. Also ordered the Not so Lychee Martini ($15). Sweet fruity tasting cocktail. But I was disappointed to not taste the lychee since the menu described lychee syrup--though maybe that's what the name implies. Although it tasted good, I probably wouldn't order again because of the price. The staff were attentive and great. Before my friend even had to mention it, when she finished taking our orders, she asked about any allergies, giving my friend the opportunity to mention his nut allergy. The environment is a little loud indoors, sometimes hard to hear your friends when talking. Seems like a place where people like to celebrate birthdays, for which the staff get festive and come out clanging while bringing out with the sparkler on top of a cake. Parking spaces was available in covered garages nearby, an hour was $5. All in all, aesthetically pleasing food and environment. Like I've seen other reviewers also comment, indoors can definitely feel a bit cramped and loud. Pricey, but would consider coming back for a celebration and trying the other foods.

Yelp
After checking what the Doral yard food options were, my friend and I decided to eat here because I noticed the name from there sister restaurant in Kendall. The food was so mind blowing good there and I could just imagine it was gonna be good here too. Our waiter was super friendly and informative. The manager Christopher was accommodating to our needs. We started off with drinks we had the pineapple margarita, which included local tequila for $12. The drinks were so good that we had to order two. For appetizers we had a Korean octopus, and Burnt ends which came highly recommended and they did not lie with the juicy flavor! For entrées I had the steak platter that came with fried yuca fries with the sour cream kimchi. I asked for the meat medium well but it was still pink and a little Raw inside for me so the manager Christopher was able to accommodate us and cook it a little bit more for our preference. Very pleasant guy! The meat was very flavorful and tender. My friend order the oxtail fried rice which had pieces of Maduros inside which gave it a nice sweet twist. I was so full that we couldn't order dessert unfortunately but until next time!

Yelp
I am a Finka/Barbakoa/Islas STAN. You can always anticipate the best cuban asain flare when eating here. They really know how to incorporate these flavors into their dishes. My favorite of this meal has to be the Loaded Spanish Boniato Fries. The layers on this dish along with the crisp vaca frita??? Forget it. SOLD. The Pepperoni pie was good! You get a taste of honey in every bite. Really compliments the saltiness you get from the meat and cheese. The one that surprised me was the Korean BBQ grilled octopus. It was nice and smokey but it didnt pair with what we had already ordered- my boyfriend and I just wanted to try something new. While it was nice, we probably wouldn't order this again and opt in for a new dish! We came on a weeknight so service was fairly quick with plenty of seating. We love the decor and intimate feel of this place. We will be back!

Yelp
Came here upon a suggestion from a friend while in Miami. This is a Latin/ Asian fusion. We walked to the restaurant which was amongst a fun little shopping/ restaurant district. The interior decor was so beautiful. We sat at the bar and our bartender was so great. He gave us suggestions on drinks and food. Hubby got the fried pork belly (I don't usually like pork belly but this was actually really good). I got the oxtail fried rice. Good but I wish it was spicy (more on the sweeter side)
google avatar

Yelp
Beautiful interior, food presentation, and very sociable service, Barbakoa is a modern and youthful eating experience. However, all the exterior charm falls a little flat when it comes to the food. We got carpaccio, corn ribs, mac, korean bbq octopus, and a whole fried fish. They all looked amazing, but there were complaints about each one. The carpaccio was completely overwhelmed by its sauce, it was incredibly sour and hard to eat. The mac was super basic, nothing special for the premium price tag. The octopus was way too charred, and there was a mouthful of burnt flavor every bite. The fish presentation was incredible, but ended up just being like eating fish n chips. I really enjoyed the corn ribs though, creative presentation with great flavor. I really want to like Barbakoa, they do everything great except the actual flavors of the food.

Yelp
Came here one night with my bf and some friends of ours a couple of days before Christmas. The back room was closed for a private party but the rest of the restaurant (inside area) was busy but not too busy. Parking/location: I will say finding it was a little weird. It's like inside the doral yard so there's a close by parking garage where you pay to park and then you come into the yard and it's towards the right side. The hostess of the yard asked if we had reservations for Barbacoa and I said no and she said typically you need a reservation to have dinner there (just a heads up!) when we went inside the hostess for the restaurant also asked if we had reservations. We said no but asked if it was okay if we sat at the bar. She said sure so we went that way. The bar overlooks the kitchen area which was cool to watch. But a short time later a staff member let us know a table was available so if we wanted it we could sit there so we moved to a table. The large party behind us was so loud and annoying but I do not reflect that on my rating for the restaurant. That was just the people who made our time here a little disruptive. Overall the restaurant is very pretty. The lighting is dim and the decor is like industrial modern-ish? Drink: To drink I ordered an expresso martini. It was absolutely delicious. Not too sweet. Not bitter. Just the right amount of both. I was going to order another but it was kind of late at night and I didn't want to be up all night! But I highly recommend it! Food: To eat my bf and I ordered the Blistered Shishito Peppers, the Caesar Salad, the Korean BBQ Grilled Octopus and the Garden Pizza. Long story short: everything was delicious. Absolutely delicious. We order shishito peppers out a lot and these were the best ones I've ever had. I am happy because the friends we were with had never tried them before and also fell in love with them here. The sauce is just so good I wanted to lick the plate! The Caesar salad was fresh, crispy and didn't have too much dressing which means it was perfect. The pizza ingredients seem funky when you're reading them on the menu, but the actual pizza flavors worked well together and tasted more like a veggie pizza so I enjoyed it. When I go out I feel like octopus is a hit or miss at most places but it was definitely a hit here. Anything you order you'll enjoy I'm sure. I can't wait to come back here honestly!!

Yelp
How do I love thee, Barbakoa? Let me count the ways. First and foremost let's start with drinks. Since this is a restaurant by Finka, you know that the drinks, food and vibes are going to be on point. Some of my faves are the Tequilin' Me Smalls and the not a lychee martini. I of course love a classic negroni and the espresso martini from here is NOT to be missed! I've been a few times, and the coconut ceviche is always a favorite to start. Recently, my family went for my brother's wedding anniversary and it was such an amazing experience. Our server, Chris, was so attentive and one of the best ever with attention to detail about our table's shellfish allergy. What didn't we order?! The Brisket is outstanding, the lamb chops are divine, and the salmon and fried rice all gave me life. It's really no surprise that you cannot order wrong here at Barbakoa. The only mistake you can make is not to come hungry, because trustttt you will want to eat everything! In addition to great food, drinks and service on the regular I have to shout out Barbakoa for being a great private event space too. This may, I planned a conference for my team of 25 to be held in their private dining room. On our final night, chef Eileen and Eric also hosted a spectacular sit down dinner for all of us. So if you're looking for a special event spot with amazing food, Barbakoa is your spot! Shout out to Roxy for helping making all of our special event needs come true over the course of two days where we worked out of their space. The staff is so friendly, easy to work with, and make you want to revisit time and time again. Until my next visit, I'll be dreaming of their cocktail menu.... Thanks for an amazing time always, Barbakoa!

Yelp
There's nothing like the original Finka. This place is a lot closer to me and the Paloma was probably one of the best I've had. The food was ok, it wasn't great. The place itself is very trendy and well decorated. Our waitress was also very nice and attentive. I the place is on the pricier side. I might be back for drinks, but likely not to eat.

Yelp
Quickly becoming one of my favorite restaurants in Doral and an excellent place for special occasion dinners. Went recently with a group of 16. Though I was only able to make 2 reservations for 8 people on Resy, with a quick phone call to the restaurant they were extremely considerate and guaranteed placement at two tables side by side inside to avoid the hot FL weather. They helped my family (who knows nothing about Cuban/Asian food) through each menu item and drink with amazing patience. I have lived in Doral for 4 years and have not experienced customer service to this caliber at any other restaurant around. To top it off, the food was a huge hit amongst my family of picky eaters. Our group tried (and loved) the croquettes, bulgogi pizza, brisket, pollo arroz chaufa (my favorite), and several specialty drinks/draft beers.
google avatar

Elizabeth P.

Yelp
Barbakoa is a great spot for brunch and just wholesome food! The service is wonderful, the staff is always very attentive and helpful! The entire menu is delicious, but their Mac and cheese is a MUST! 4/5 because unfortunately they are always out of items on the menu.
google avatar

Emily D.

Yelp
I have been to Finka and I liked Finka but this one was just ok. We were a party of 4. The food was good but nothing wow.... If I had to pick a favorite plate of the ones we had it would be the brisket. The bulgogi pizza did not taste like bulgogi at all. The drinks were ok. I just simply think it was pricey for what is was. With so many restaurants to try in Miami I don't think I would return anytime soon. Pro: The decoration is really nice and the waiter was attentive.
google avatar

Michelle H.

Yelp
I'm a huge Finka fan so was excited to give this place a try. To be honest it was difficult to find. We sat in the food hall trying to find Finka on the menu for a good while before asking the hostess lol. Once we did find it though I loved the ambiance. It is very trendy and decorated like Tulum style. I shared the Loaded Spanish Boniato Fries and Brisket Burnt Ends with one other person. Sooo yummy and enough for two people! I don't love kimchi so that is something I would omit from the Fries but it was delicious. To drink I had the Not a Lychee Martini and it was excellent. However, it is a bit pricey but expected. Definitely will be back!
google avatar

Yelp
Barbakoa by Finka went above and beyond in so many ways! I was part of the group that co-worked in their private dining space for a couple days and also had our final fiesta in their courtyard. As a coworking space, it provided everything we needed. They set up the space classroom style, had AV set up and were available for fresh water or anything we needed during the day. It may not be the first place you think of for meeting space but it worked out great for us and there was plenty nearby for local eats. The party we had the last night though was over the top. The broke out the caja china and roasted a whole pig (which we got to check out during one of our breaks during the day). We came back that evening for our noche tropical theme party ready for a good time. We started out with cocktails and passed apps as we came in the door, they helped organize a salsa dancing class, and then wi finished with the amazing dinner put together by Eileen and the staff. Side note, Eileen is amazing and I'm obsessed with how much of a badass she is. I follow her on insta and she's probably one of the coolest people in dade county. I can't wait to come back and just try the regular menu, but I'll be dreaming about that crispy chicharon for years.
google avatar

Alex G.

Yelp
One of my favorite places in Downtown Doral, and this most recent visit reenforced why I like it so much. The cocktails are innovative and delicious, not too sweet, not overly tart, not too strong, and always the right balance. The list of cocktails is extensive and the prices are comparable with the area restaurants. The food is equally imaginative and delicious. Some menu items change every three months or so, which I love because it keeps the cuisine fresh and interesting. The bar and inside dining area are a bit small, but they have a beautiful outdoor dining space where you can listen to live music on weekends. The service is outstanding, starting with management, who make sure you're having a pleasant time, to the bartenders/mixologists and servers, as well as the chef and his staff. This place rocks, and I highly recommend it.

Melodie M.

Yelp
I recently spent a few days in their private dining room for a work event. What a great spot! Lot of light, in an amazing place as part of the food hall. I also had an incredible dinner at Barbakoa, on their patio/courtyard. Talk about atmosphere! That courtyard is the perfect spot for a party or gathering- and the main restaurant spills out onto it. Thank you so much to our amazing staff that night! And hats off to Chef Eileen, who cooked a pig on the patio in a roasting box: woah! food goals. The kimchi fried rice was definitely a highlight for me. What amazing flavors! There was so much more amazing food - more than I could ever eat in one sitting - and it was all awesome. 5 stars for my drink never getting low, my plate being continually replenished, realistically and metaphorically. I felt so welcomed here. Not every place can successfully pull off a party and host out of town guests, but for me they pushed every button successfully with flavors and hospitality. Thank you!

Yelp
Fifth time visitor, definitely not last. Delicious food came out in a timely manner! Wait staff was very attentive with cocktail refills and removing dirty dishes. Amazing atmosphere!! I tell EVERYONE about this place!

Yelp
Yes Barbakoa. You can have all my stars. I have only 5 to give, but know that if I could give extra credit, you would get more. Nothing here was done 100%. It was always at least 110%. Our work group felt so catered to and special, and it was fantastic getting to come into your home, your kitchen, and be treated to memorable food, drinks, and experiences. Our final night party here was out of this world. From the drinks and dancing, to the delicious appetizers, and of course... that incredible slow roasted pig. Tender juicy meat, crispy skin, wonderful spice, paired perfectly with mashed yucca and kimchi fried rice that I would love to put in every burrito from now until the end of my days. Miami, you have a special place here. I hope you know this!

Yelp
Frank and I have been here a few times since they opened and we always come back. Barbakoa is enough cool, enough homey with a few great dishes. My favorite is the FRIED WHOLE FISH. It's been snapper the last couple of months which I totally love. And with their cilantro mashed potatoes which is OFF THE CHAIN, such a great combination. Frank loves their vaca frita. It's got the right amount of homemade taste and their lomo saltado the quality of the meat is exceptional. OF COURSE we cannot leave out their Islas Canarias croquetas so smartly done on a non-traditional ball shape. Genius for elevating those little suckers! We live in the neighborhood just down the street so we love to support such an adorable establishment that we can continue to enjoy for years to come. My only caveat is that I have yet to see the owner Eileen Andrade there and it would definitely be a highlight for me. I think this CHEF has elevated her family roots and that's always a treat to see. I am leaving some pictures here below. Enjoy!

Yelp
A must when in Doral especially for dinner. Everything was just amazing. Must have the croquets , burnt ends & Elote Corn ribs for appetizer. Each appetizer was just delicious! Dinner was spectacular. Nothing was left on any of the plates. That's all i will say. I will definitely return.

Yelp
Upon visiting for the first time, this was amazing! Firstly, downtown Doral is vibrant at night. Lots of people, music, and lights. Barbakoa had outstanding reviews so I made a reservation a day in advance and they had plenty of options available. The restaurant inside is dimly lit and a bit loud. Maybe not ideal for a quiet couple's date night. The service was good, our waitress was attentive and since the food is made from scratch and comes out when ready, I noticed that she paid attention to when we were finished eating before coming over and asking if we wanted anything else. The menu items are intended to be shared for the most part, we didn't try any drinks but had the Mac and cheese, oxtail fried rice and loaded boniato fries. Everything was delicious! The Mac and cheese was rich and smoky with the addition of brisket (I think) and bacon on top. And super cheesy! I'm Caribbean and the oxtail fried rice reminded me of fast food that my family used to get back home. The boniato fries were also excellent - a bit crunchier than a regular fry, but the vaca frita and kimchi combination on top was surprisingly lovely. If I had a bigger appetite (and budget probably), I would have tried so much more!

Yelp
So excited that I finally got around to trying Barbakoa. I've been a huge fan of Finka for years, so I knew this wouldn't disappoint. We started off with the classic Mac and cheese (a true staple), which was absolutely delicious. If you are going to try one thing here, let it be this. I didn't personally try the ceviche, but that was another app on our table. For the main dishes we had: - cauliflower rice - vaca frita (shoutout to the tostones, they were 11/10) - pizza - burger We finished our meal with an ice cream brownie dish decorated with a cute, edible flower. Our waitress mentioned she's never seen anyone eat the flower, so who wants to be first? The service was great, but really slow. The ambiance was beautiful; we chose to sit inside and it was pretty hot (it doesn't seem like there's any fans inside). Aside from that, we had a great time at Barbacoa. I hope to be back soon!

Yelp
The restaurant, located in Doral Yard, has a lovely patio area, where we can watch the performance and other people enjoying themselves as we dine. The service is great, the delicious food comes out in good timing, and my friends and I had a wonderful time dining there. While there is a menu on their website, scanning the QR code at the restaurant sends you to a slightly different menu that is more current, with prices. The ceviche is a great start to dinner, with its refreshing flavor. The boniato fries is a huge portion and tastes better than regular fries. The wok-fried okra is great too, though the veggies at the bottom sitting in the sauce get rather salty. I also love the grilled lamb chops. Actually, I love the bed of cilantro mashed potato they are sitting on even more. I would make it my bed and roll in it if I could, lol. Not to mention it provides such a pretty color to the dish! Well, we love everything, except for the bulgogi pizza, which is just meh, and the wings, which are on the dry side. Look forward to returning and trying their other offerings.

Yelp
If your into infused cuisine, than you need to give this place a try. Latin + Asian= Delicious! The food was tasty and the live music was a total vibe! I'm giving them 4 stars because the service could have been a bit better, but overall it was a unique and delicious experience. Islas Canarias Croquetas- 10/10 IYKYK and if you don't - get with it and order them! They are a Miami Staple and delicious! Korean Style Chicarones- 10/10 I personally don't like chicarones but the hubby is a huge fan of this fried treat. He said it was delicious, juicy and tender. Korean Short Ribs- 9/10 The meat was so tender and soft it just dissolved, paired with some naan bread and mixed rice. The hubby ate it all up and did not share or leave anything behind! Lol Cucumber Salad- 10/10 WOW! The flavors were amazing!! So fresh and delicious! Cucumbers, avocado, chopped peanuts in a savory sauce it was everything I look for in a salad. Cheese Pizza- 9/10 My daughter and I shared it. Reminded us of a Mexican pizza to be exact. It was really good and we both enjoyed it.

Yelp
Love it! The bartender and host are really friendly and helpful. We sat at the bar and eat there, bartender is really nice and welcoming. Absolutely recommend the bulgogi pizza and toasted coconut beer!

Yelp
Second time here and I was disappointed. The last time I ordered brisket it was broken apart. This time it was one dry piece. But the service was excellent and the rest of the dishes were too. No complaints. I'll just try something else next time.

Yelp
We came to Barbakoa for their Happy Hour, which offers $3 off specialty cocktails. Marlon took care of us at the bar and was beyond attentive. The Berry Superstitious cocktail is delicious and refreshing and his Paper Plane was incredible. Highly recommend the Loaded Spanish Boniato Fries and the Pepperoni Pie; two dishes you could never go wrong with. It was my fourth visit, and it definitely won't be the last. The service and vibes from seats at the bar are unmatched.

Yelp
I have visited this restaurant a few times in the past but lately they have become a favorite for Friday night Happy Hour. I am always kindly greeted. Shout out to Ana and Brian. Excellent drinks, really good service and food. Love their ham croquettes, lamb chops and caipirinha.

Yelp
Closed down. The business wasn't at location. Searched the entire area and no where to be found.

Yelp
Great restaurant located in he Doral yard with both inside and outdoor seating to enjoy their menu. Outside seating gives you access to the live music that may be playing on stage nearby. So if your a music lover and don't mind the level of noise I would recommend sitting here. Once we were seated we were rapidly attended to by our waitress. She was attentive, professional, and even brought us bottles of water for the table so that we wouldn't be short on water. The drinks we ordered I would say were well prepared. Bourbon selection is a solid list for those who enjoy this spirit, but it seems like there is a good cocktail variety list to choose from. For appetizer we ordered the octopus and ceviche which were amazing and left me wanting another portion due to the mouthwatering flavoring each had. For our meal we had the ropa vieja and the ox tail friend rice. The ropa vieja dish was ok, but a bit on the dry side and I would choose another item instead. The Ox tail fried rice was delicious! This plate was hearty and exploding with flavor. The only thing I wish was that it had more ox tail than what it had, but otherwise very enjoyable. Definitely some great options for dinning here and will return to try other options available.

Yelp
Believe the hype. The service, the food, the drinks... all amazing. I HIGHLY recommend making reservations because it's a very small space so they fill up quickly. Even though the we're slammed the servers were very attentive and the food came out quickly. I've always enjoyed the food at FINKA so it wasn't a surprise when everything went ordered was great. To drink I ordered a watermelon lemonade that was very tasty and refreshing. For food we ordered a few things and shared. We got the brisket burnt ends which were amazing. They were fall apart soft and the sauce that came on top was light but supplemented the meat great. We also ordered the brisket Mac and cheese which is the same as the one at FINKA and just as delicious. We ordered a pizza and got half cheese and half the hot and honey pepperoni flavor. There was a generous amount of honey on the pepperoni side and the salty & sweet combination was delicious! For dessert it was a tough decision because the three options all sounded great but we went with the brownie one and it was good but probably the least impressive plate we had. We will def go back soon!

Yelp
I loved the experience. Had a great time there! Easy parking close by, located in downtown doral which is adorable at night full of lights and safe to walk around after dinner. I tried the lychee drink and it was amazing. The sweet potato truffle fries were great but the lamb chops with cilantro mashed potatoes were absolutely delicious! Worth the visit. The service is also great! They don't accept cash....

Yelp
Barbakoa is a great addition to the Doral area, located at the Doral yard. As a side note, parking in the garage used to be completely free and now there's a fee, though they give you two hours for free and all you have to do is register. I came with my boyfriend on a Wednesday night and only had to wait about 15 to 20 minutes. While we waited, we went to the bar area located in the Doral yard and the drinks were pretty good and averagely priced for Miami (gin and tonic was $15). The food was pretty good! We had coconut ceviche and burnt ends for appetizers and I would highly recommend the burnt ends they were delicious! I ordered the half chicken as my main but it was a little on the salty side, but the veggies were perfect. My boyfriend's lamb chops were superb and I would likely order that next time. The mains took a longer time to come out but the service was good. Next time, I want to try the pizzas because they looked yummy! Overall I'd visit again, Barbakoa was yummy!

Yelp
If you are looking for a place with exceptional service this place is it. Their hosts and waiters are excellent. If you're looking for a place with good food please choose one of the other restaurants that can be found at the Yard. I ordered the Brisket and some Bao buns (pictured below). The only edible dish were the Bao buns. The brisket looked like it was drowning in sauce but yet no flavor met my palate when I took a bite. Chewy and tasteless. The corn was the only thing that I was able to finish. Great service, mediocre food for the price. Edit: Although I can account for how tasteless the Bulgogi pie was. I paid full price for my meal. My verdict still stands. Thank you management

Yelp
Already a HUGE fan of Finka Table & Tap and Amelia's 1939, when I heard about Barbakoa by Finka I just knew I just had to try it. So, when Yelp had an Elite Experience at the Doral Yard (literally a few steps around the corner) it was the perfect chance to try it out. As with Finka and Amelia's, you can expect the same type of decor when you visit Barbakoa by Finka. As you walk into an industrial, farmhouse style setting, you're greeted by chic and attractive young wait staff. With both indoor and outdoor dining options, there is a retractable wall feature that quickly separates the two areas if it becomes too humid and muggy outside (which, when isn't it in Miami, amirite?) making ir a comfortable and fabulous quirk to the character of the restaurant. The menu is a collaborative effort from three famous local chefs. The menu items are perfectly curated to take you on a journey your taste buds will surely thank you for. The food, from the appetizers to the dessert, are irresistibly delicious. I was so satisfied with my experience at Barbakoa that I genuinely cannot wait to return and try everything else on the menu. 10/10 I would definitely recommend!

Yelp
It's been a day since my visit, and I'm my mind is plagued with thoughts of those corn ribs. It's incredible! Amazing flavor combination that just made me completely stop my conversation, pause, and just enjoy every bite. I will return for these corn ribs again. Must try when ordering if you like corn... or are a human. We sat outside, and it was a great vibe and decor. Located inside the doral yard area, you can validate your parking here for 2 hours with a code they provide. Just make sure you set the parking time to 2 hours when registering the car!

Yelp
Barbakoa at Doral Yard: A Culinary Delight Worth Exploring! Recently, I had the pleasure of visiting Barbakoa at Doral Yard, and let me just say, it was an incredible experience! From the moment I walked in, I was blown away. Located within a vibrant marketplace, Barbakoa stands out with its exclusive, air-conditioned seating area. I had made a reservation, but it wasn't overly crowded on the Sunday afternoon I visited, suggesting that walk-ins might be accommodated easily. As a parent with an infant, I appreciated the exceptional hospitality we received from the host. They promptly seated us at a table where we could comfortably accommodate our baby and her stroller. The attentiveness and warmth of the staff were truly commendable. The cocktail selection at Barbakoa is outstanding, and we decided to trust our server's recommendation. It turned out to be a great decision, as the cocktails were absolutely delightful. Each sip was a burst of flavor and further enhanced our dining experience. When it came to ordering our main course, my wife and I decided to share. We opted for the lomo saltado, served with fragrant white rice. Additionally, we couldn't resist trying their pepperoni and spicy honey pizza. Oh my, it was heavenly! The combination of flavors was simply divine, making it my personal favorite dish at Barbakoa. As for appetizers, we ordered the burnt end brisket, and they quickly became my wife's favorite. The tender, smoky meat was incredibly satisfying and left us wanting more. While we didn't have desserts at Barbakoa, my wife desired a cup of coffee and headed to the nearby Juan Valdez café within Doral Yard. In conclusion, I wholeheartedly recommend Barbakoa at Doral Yard. The restaurant offers a remarkable culinary experience with its inviting ambiance, attentive staff, delectable cocktails, and mouthwatering dishes. Whether you're looking for a relaxing meal or a memorable outing, Barbakoa is a must-visit destination.

Yelp
Came in in the middle of the day to unwind and have a light meal by myself. I sat at the bar and had a lovely chat with the bartender Cici. Her service was impeccable and made me feel like she was a long time friend of mine ;) it's a gorgeous restaurant and the menu options are amazing! I had a hard time picking one thing so my light lunch turned into two appetizers for just me of course, I wished I came with more people so that I could try it all. I opted for the bao buns and ceviche which were both spectacular. 10/10 highly recommend
