Barbam NYC

Located below Judam (formerly Rib No 7), Barbam is a cozy and smaller bar serving up Korean cocktails. you walk down the stairs to this small and cozy area. There’s both bar seating and a table seating, but we chose to sit at the bar. Cocktails are a bit on the pricy side (around $24 per each one) but the presentation is quality throughout. We got a Hulu punch and a JMT. The JMT came with a little show of lighting steel wool that added a smoky flavor to the drink. The alcohol was on the stronger side, but it tasted good and the lime juice went well with the bourbon. The Hulu punch was also on the strong side, but the alcohol taste wasn’t as strong. The strawberry went well with the drink as well. We also got fried chicken on the side, which was lightly battered and soft and juicy. It came with a wasabi mayo that paired well with the dish, as well as a chili sauce.

Came by on a weekday evening after a friend’s recommendation. We each got a cocktail that came with a strawberry tanghulu (totally forgot the name though 😅). The interior was beautiful, the cocktails looked amazing, and the fire show was such a nice touch. It tasted so good I didn’t even realize how strong it was until later, got tipsy faster than expected! Definitely coming back to try other cocktails next time.

Had a great time here! The atmosphere is cozy and relaxing, perfect for a night out. The highlight for me was definitely the bartender — you can really feel how passionate and focused he is. Watching him make drinks is like watching someone truly enjoy their craft. Loved that energy! I hope more people get to experience this place. Just one small tip: I personally wouldn’t recommend the oysters — not really my taste. But everything else was great.

everything runs on the sweet side and is pretty pricey. seating was tight but they let us sit and yap. i got the milk kiss and my friend got the hulu punch. hers was more alcohol forward versus mine was like drinking the real thing! i don't know that i'll come back because of how tight the bar seating was. it was difficult to orient myself in a comfortable position because the seats were so close together. i didn't even want to take a trip to the bathroom because it was such a squeeze. i would've hated being on a date here.

The spot was a bit small but not too crowded. Cocktails were delicious—we got the naengmyeon and the hulu punch. Presentation was A+. I would love to come back and try more of their signature menu! Great for date night.

For cocktail connoisseurs, you can probably skip this one... Korean inspired cocktail menu, similar to what others were saying the one drink I had was aesthetically pleasing but taste was just alright, nothing stand out. The killer for me was the $30 price tag for each drink (with tax and tip) for a non-top 50 bar.....Im not going to come back

Review from NYC Native, not a tourist — went to try this cocktail bar out. Pretty disappointing experience, lots of fanfare with the cocktails, whether something is lit on fire or steaming with dry ice, often making customers wait 2 minutes before being able to try their beverage, most likely in hopes of getting instagram posts. Unfortunately the fan fare seems to be the driver of the prices here, which go for 24 per cocktail without tax and tip—however the drinks themselves lacked depth, substance, and flavor. Basically they sucked. No other way to say it. Here’s a photo of my well below average cocktail, that I won’t be posting on instagram. You can thank me later.

This is hands-down one of my top 3 favorite bar in New York, and I honestly think it's one of the city's best hidden gems. Their drinks are not only delicious but beautiful -- some come with bubbles, some are served in the most charming teapots, and others have these creative, unexpected flavors you won't find anywhere else. Every cocktail feels like an experience. The ambience is another reason I keep coming back. It's cozy, calm, and never too loud -- perfect for real conversations, catching up with friends, or a date where you actually want to hear the other person speak. It strikes that rare balance of being stylish without being pretentious. I recommend this place to everyone, and every single person I bring ends up loving it. If you haven't been yet, you are genuinely missing out on one of the most fantastic bar experiences in the city. The staff there are always nice :)

Went to barbam while visiting NYC. This was one of the most anticipated places on my Yelp list, but to be honest it fell a bit short. First off, the ambiance was pretty good inside and very intimate, but I wish my friends and I sat at the bar. We instead sat at this tiny table next to everyone else so it felt a bit isolated. We tried the tangerine, milkis & matcha cocktails. The matcha one did not really taste like matcha at all and was just bitter. My favorite out of the 3 were probably the milkis one. However, I don't think any of them really stood out to me. Overall would probably not come back to try new drinks, just an average experience ):

Hidden gem underneath Rib n.07 (Kbbq). Felt like a great IYKYK type of bar. Unique, beautiful cocktails inspired by Korean culture. Not pricey at all - standard price for cocktails in New York. If anything I'm surprised about the price since it could easily be 30+. Great date spot. Lovely hostess. Favorite cocktail: Cha cha cha.

The cocktails were pricy but interesting and strong at $24. The cups were fun. We tried the Perilla Sour, Clarified Makgeolli Punch, Naengmyun, and Milk Tea. The Milk Tea unexpectedly had lemon mixed with it. Service was nice. It's a little small in there.

You need to go here! The vibes are soft, cozy with dim lighting, relaxed atmosphere and just the right amount of energy. The drinks are incredibly creative and well made. I got the Cha Cha Cha, while my friends ordered the JMT and the Hadong Festival, and we shared a truffle popcorn. My favorite was definitely the Hadong Festival sicne it was sweet with a mild taste of alcohol. The Cha Cha Cha was a close second, definitely a great tea-inspired cocktail. The JMT won in terms of presentation. Highly recommend checking this place out and getting the Hadong festival or the Cha Cha Cha. Defs will try out more of the snacks at the next visit!

Had a great evening at Barbam. Everything was spectacular. Honestly, I didn't understand 95% of the ingredients in the drinks, but a little internet research cleared that up. I trusted my gut, and it didn't disappoint. We ordered from the Chapter 2 drink menu. I chose the Koriental Breeze and my friend went with the Make You Blush. For snacks, we had the Patatas Bravas and the fried chicken. I was curious about the oysters and asked my friend if she liked them. To my surprise, she did. I quickly got the bartender's attention and ordered some. When I say the oysters stole the show, I mean it. The server mentioned they came from Blue Point, Long Island. They were so fresh and thick. Just a little drizzle of lemon on top, and my taste buds were overjoyed. The patatas bravas were also a great choice. By then, I had ordered my second Koriental Breeze, and my friend decided to try one too. The fried chicken thighs were coated in a crispy tempura batter and came with two sauces. Both were delicious, but the wasabi one was the standout. The chicken was so good that we ordered another round, and I got another Koriental Breeze as well. What a great night. We eventually had to leave for our event, but I can't wait to go back with my husband.

This place is one of my favorite cocktail spots in the city. Barbam has some clever cocktails highlighting different Korean flavors. My favorite drinks to order are the JMT, Hulu Punch, and the clarified Makgeoli punch. All of these drinks are packed with flavor and provide a wonderful cocktail drinking experience. In the summer time, you also have to order their sesame parfait. It is insanely good and helps cool you down after entering the bar from the NYC heat. What really made this place stand out for me is the service that my friends and I received. Both Nanoto and Sun provided my group excellent service throughout our entire visit. Despite the bar being completely full on a Sunday, there wasn't a moment where we struggled to get the staffs attention. The staff also knew the menu and offered great recommendations. A couple of tips: 1. I highly recommend making reservations on the weekends. It was completely full on a Sunday night. 2. The food offerings are also very good. My favorite bite was the house made potato chip that came with a nice aioli. So you might be wondering what kind of atmosphere is offered at Barbam? Barbam makes an awesome date spot with the nice lighting and ambiance. You also can't go wrong with taking a small group of friends here for drinks. I got a feeling you could really impress a first date and your friends with taking them here. I LOVE this place and will be 100% be back next time I'm in the city.

Very impressed with this place, everything ordered was genuinely so good. The performative visuals of the JMT cocktail was also unexpected but quite cool. Love that the Hulu Punch comes out with a little standers tanghulu, very nice little touch. The Cha Cha Cha was also so smooth and yummy, definitely not what we expected. The honey butter chips made in-house were very light and delicious. Interior is more on the minimalistic side, but still vibey. This place is located beneath a KBBQ place, which threw us off at first.

This is the speakeasy under Ribno7. You definitly need a reservation. It's popular and fills up quickly. If you try to go without a reservation, you could wait up to an hr for a table. The ambiance walking in is very dark and elegant. It's a mystery vibe that puts you in the mood for their cocktails. I wanted dessert so I got the Bam Bread Pudding. Sweet and rich, it's everything you want in a bread pudding with a light feel. It's filling though so share it. My friend got the korean fried chicken which is lightly fried and doesn't have a greasy feel. In terms of drinks, I started with the Cha Cha Cha and she got Hadong Festival. Cha Cha Cha is literally presented in a tea pot with dry ice - so wait like 10 seconds before pouring. It had a floral taste that I can recall. I found it very light as well. Hadong festival is my favorite I think. You can taste the matcha in it without a doubt. It's like drinking a matcha latte - you don't taste the alcohol. The jang trio, was the most interested I'd say. It's literally a frozen cocktail that is in the form of ice cream. And it comes with popped rice which add a nice crunch to it. Unfortunately, we were both full and couldn't finish but next time I'll definitely get the jang trio first. This is a bar I'd definitely return to and bring everyone I know.

Barbam has a really creative and interesting selection of drinks! My favorite was Hadong Festival. My friends ordered JMT and Cha Cha Cha and I thought those were pretty good too. We also had the truffle popcorn, which was delicious. The service was attentive and friendly.

Barbam has really cute korean inspired drinks! I've come twice and my friends and I have pretty much tried the entire cocktail menu. It's located beneath a bbq restaurant but the inside is really nice. I would recommend getting a resy since it's not a large space. Service is good.

Barbam NYC definitely nails the aesthetic -- moody lighting, beautiful interior, and cocktails that are almost too pretty to drink. It's the kind of spot that makes you want to pull your phone out as soon as the drinks hit the table. Service was smooth and friendly, no complaints there. The staff kept things professional and low-key, which matched the vibe of the space. The drinks though? Visually stunning, but taste-wise... just okay. For $20+ per cocktail, I was hoping for a bit more depth in flavor. It felt like style over substance -- great for photos, but not something I'd crave again. Worth checking out once for the ambiance, especially if you're into beautifully designed cocktails -- just don't expect your taste buds to be as wowed as your eyes.

I was looking for a cocktail bar that would be a nice, chill vibe. My friend recommended Barbam so I made a reservation on OpenTable. It is located in Ktown and is under a korean barbeque spot. You have to go downstairs to get to the bar. There was a good amount of people for a Thursday night. They have specialty cocktails and also classic ones. I got the Oedo Botania which had Plantation (Rum), Lillet Blanc, apple juice, lime juice, and chrysanthemum. The presentation was very nice but there was barely half the glass which was confusing. The drink itself was good though. Overall, the atmosphere was nice. They serve food as well but we didn't order any. I loved that the menu had a graph showing whether the cocktail was more sweet or citrus!

I always use Yelp to make a wishlist of spots to check out before I go on vacation. I found this spot AFTER I arrived at my hotel. I made a reservation for later that evening. it was a bit of a NY walk but it was after hours so a fun walk. we entered a restaurant that was about to close and the hostess greeted us, We were directed down stairs. Hostess for speakeasy was down here. the space was small...a bar and a few small 2 person VERY LOW tables. We were seated at a table which was a bit disappointing since I had hoped to sit at the bar. The tables were tiny and were below knee level. I probably should have asked to wait but oh well...next time. the space was beautiful! the menu was very adventurous and we enjoyed seeing other drinks being brought out while we perused the menu. Our neighboring table ordered the CHA CHA CHA which was served in a teapot that has smoke (dry ice? ) billowing out of it . I had seen someone talk about an "ice cream" cocktail (Jang Trio) on Yelp so I started with that ...super unique and tasty. If you want to order it I think it would be better as a final drink vs 1st. My second drink was a BAM Fashioned ...also amazing ! they lit the adjacent pine cone on fire for the smokey scent. Hubby's 1st was JMT which was the aesthetic winner! the stem of glass was wrapped in steel wool and lit which caused it to sparkle and glow...his second was Naengmyeon which wa also super tasty. we also ordered food: Patatas bravas & Korean fried chicken. both were very tasty (especially the potatoes). 5 stars for atmosphere 5 stars for menu 5 stars for presentation 5 stars for quality 5 stars for service 4 stars for value 1 star for seat comfort ok I'll round it up to 5 b/c it was a really really cool experience!

Such delicious and unique drinks! The tanghulu, JMT, and matcha bean (forgot the name) were my favorites. I also enjoyed the way they made the fried chicken too. The oysters could be skipped though. Too much crème fraîche on it.

Barbam is the ultimate spot for a date night or a girls' night out--a hidden speakeasy tucked beneath Rib No. 7. IYKYK! I always recommend making a reservation since the space is small, intimate, and fills up quickly. The cocktails here are well crafted and presented beautifully. Every drink I've tried has been a hit! Here are my top recommendations: * HULU PUNCH - A slightly sweet and aesthetically stunning cocktail, topped with a delightful strawberry tanghulu. * JMT - A fruity bourbon-based drink with tropical mango-like flavors. Sweet and fruity! * CHA CHA CHA - Light, refreshing, and served in a teapot for a fun, unique presentation. Barbam is hands down one of my favorite bars--highly recommend checking it out!

A friend of mine told me about Barbam and when I looked at the menu online, I realized that there were at least 5 drinks I wanted to try and there was no way I could do all that in one night. Solution: come two nights in a row (and bring a friend)! Between the two nights, I tried: *Milk Kiss - this was lovely and a little sweet *JMT - I love me a whisky sour, so this was right up my alley. The presentation is pretty fun too! *Oedo Botania - this had a very nice light and refreshing flavor to it *Hulu Punch - the drink was good, but the strawberry was amazing! *Bam Fashion - cool presentation, but shockingly, my least favorite drink. What I loved is that all of the drinks were distinct, and flavorful, yet not overwhelming. The food was also really good. The fried chicken (and sauces) were really good, even the chips with the honey butter were delicious! Also, the beef tartare was a work of art, both in presentation and taste, and the bread pudding was a great way to finish everything out. Would absolutely highly recommend! I also loved that the place is on the quieter side, so if you actually want to enjoy good drinks and hear whomever you're there with, it's perfect!

We walked in on a Friday night and got a table at this speakeasy. The seats were all full after at about 10pm. I liked the Hulu punch cocktail which was creamy and had a strawberry tanghulu on top. I also like the JMT drink which was citrusy and they light a steel wool around the drink on fire so it's aesthetic. We also tried the cha cha cha and it was light and came in a teapot. I'd come back for the Hulu punch cocktail.

Speakeasy with cozy modern atmosphere underneath a bbq restaurant in ktown. They have a menu of classic and special cocktails, along with small appetizer plates. The drinks are on the pricier end, but contain a decent amount of alcohol without sacrificing any flavor. We ordered the milk kiss and hadong festival. Both were enjoyable, but the hadong was definitely the standout. A must try for anyone that loves matcha. The oysters were also very flavorful.

The drinks were so great. The presentation was stunning. The service was awesome but it does take some time for them to make the drinks. We had a reservation and still had to wait for a few minutes to get in. Our favorite was the cha cha cha. The flavor was great and it was beautiful. Would highly recommend and make a reservation.

Delicious and inventive basement bar in K-town. Had the perilla sour and it was delicious, including the sweet potato chip. Also had the truffle popcorn which was such a good move, really delicious. Ambiance is chill, service can be a little slow but totally appreciated since it's a great spot for conversation. Would definitely come back to try new drinks!

Bar Bam just might be my new favorite cocktail bar in NYC. Tucked away underneath a restaurant called Rib No. 7, sits this lovely Korean speakeasy cocktail bar that serves up delicious and inventive cocktails. The bar's specialty cocktails are all inspired by Korean cuisine and culture. I came with my mom and we ordered four drinks (if you know me, you'd know that this is quite a lot) because of how much we liked them. We first got the Oedo Botania which had a delicious tea falvor from the chrysanthemum and had nice sweetness balanced by the rum and lime/apple juice. I absolutely loved this one. It came with a cool poppable sphere that released a lovely aroma of tea and citrus. We also got the Hulu Punch. This is a tequila based drink with red makgeolli (a tangy, sweet fermented rice wine), cranberry juice, and vanilla flavors. This is also garnished with a candied strawberry (strawberry tanghulu) that was literally so juicy and so ripe. I highly recommend these two drinks!!! We also ordered the Cha Cha Cha which is a gin-based cocktail with Gamsa Blue Chungju (rice wine), and shikhye (Korean non-alcoholic rice beverage). I like this one as well because it was served in a teapot with dry ice, creating a cool smoke-like effect that erupted from the teapot. Finally, we also got the Hadong Festival which is a soju based drink with a pat of sweet red bean paste, matcha, and half-and-half. This drink was the least sweet but it was still nice and complex. You can really taste the earthiness of the matcha and red bean and the creaminess of the half-and-half. My one note is that all of the drinks taste like they barely have alcohol in them (and this is coming from a light weight). I would definitely come back to Bar Bam! I want to try all of their cocktails. If you like intimate speakeasies and Asian-inspired drinks, then you've gotta check this place out.

Tl;dr - I LOVE Barbam I really wanted to try this bar and so went with a friend one evening. It shares an entrance with the restaurant that it lives under. Once inside, you check in with the hostess who will guide you downstairs. The bar is quite small - maybe around 8 seats at the bar, and around 4 small tables that seat maybe 3-4 people each. Definitely not a party vibe. The staff are all very nice. We wanted to have one, maybe two, drinks but ended up getting 3 each because we wanted to try all the drinks. They were all SO GOOD. For those who grew up eating Korean cuisine, you will love this place. The naengmyeon gave me flashbacks to when I was younger. Their glassware is also very pretty and well thoughtout. I definitely recommend Barbam and am excited to return!

I was lucky enough to hear about this place and try it within a few weeks of it opening. It's hidden underneath a decent restaurant, but has its own little snack menu. It wasn't too busy when I went - it actually felt like a nice, quiet gem where you could hear your friends without screaming. Some of the drink presentations felt a little over the top/unnecessary IMO but the overall quality of the cocktails was fantastic with some really unique combos as well. The JMT goes down in my favorites list fs.

Cool new speakeasy spot in ktown with Korean-inspired flavors in delicious cocktails! We tried the JMT (very citrusy, and love the presentation with the fireworks!), Naengmyeon (Korean cold noodle- my personal favorite of the night. So delicious and refreshing! Reminds me a bit of DCP's Japanese cold noodle drink...), and the Milk Kiss (play on Milkis, a Korean milk soda drink), and it tasted pretty similar! Very sweet and drinkable). Also ordered the Korean Fried Chicken which had a light batter and was perfectly crispy. I loved the assortment of sauces it came with. Service is pretty good. We had a reservation but it still took a bit to seat us. Once at the bar, we felt very taken care of. Drinks carefully recommended and explained, water refilled. Special mention for the menu itself! Nice drawings of each drink with a helpful axis graph to help decide what to try! Didn't get to try the Jang trio drink so that's next on my list, especially since we saw some dry ice involved(?), so will definitely be coming back for that!

Great new conceptual cocktail bar in the city! We ordered two drinks and they were both great. - Cha cha cha: 10/10 (fruity and light, so perfect for someone who doesn't like a spirit-forward drinks. The cute tea pot and dry ice smoke is a plus too!) - Jang trip: 9/10 (very interesting drink-- it tastes like doenjang ice cream with a bit of an alcohol taste. Worth trying it for the concept!) Service was fast and ambiance was good-- perfect for date night. The song choice though was interesting-- they were mostly Korean ballad songs, so it kind of felt like we were at a Korean karaoke bar!

Naengmyeon was DELICIOUS! Hadong Festival was tasty but no alcohol taste. JMT tasted okay, the burnt thing was weird. Overall the vibe was a bit weird, it's not a "functional bar" with proper equipment, they were making drinks on cabinet, etc. making it very slow and looks not sharp. Korean Fried Chicken was weird.

The drinks are definitely on the pricey side, but other than that, this bar was pretty fabulous. Tucked under rib no 7, the space is not too small or big (we easily snagged a last min res on a saturday night). We got bar seating and tried four drinks! -JMT (4.5/5): I loved the mandarin taste! this drink also lit on fire so great presentation -Hulu punch (4.5/5): love the foam and tanginess to the drink from the yogurty taste, which cut down the sweetness. Like a foamy yakult drink -Milk Kiss (4/5): tasted exactly like milkis. Probably the sweetest drink we got, but went down pretty smoothly. Interesting way to drink it (out of the straw!) -Naengmyeon (5/5): probably my favorite drink of the night. Super refreshing and I loved the garnish of the asian pear. Would highly recommend! Service was also really fast... we were in and out within an hour.

I had the JMT, Bam Fashion, and the Hulu Punch. All were tasty, original, and beautifully presented. The bartender was friendly and open with recommendations, and also gave me tastings to figure out what I liked. I would come to Ktown just for Barbam.

This was my first speakeasy in NYC and it was such an amazing experience. The vibe felt very elevated. My absolute favorite were the oysters. The drinks were so yummy and carefully crafted. Sadly I can't remember the names of the drinks we got but there wasn't a single one we didn't like. We got all drinks and food super quick, the service was great. No complaints!

After dinner in the area, we found this new bar on Yelp and decided to come check it out. It's located in the basement level of Rib No.7 into a gorgeous, clean, and modern space. Since we came on a weekday, we were able to walk-in but I'd highly recommend making reservations on weekends. It'll probably get even more busy soon on weekdays too as this place gains more popularity. I can see this spot becoming the next big thing after my experience here. There are various innovative Asian-inspired cocktails offered all with its own unique drinking vessel. I wish I could've tried them all, but we did try 4 drinks here. I had the Bam Fashioned ($21), which was your classic old fashion with smokiness from the pine that they lit up. The Naengmyeon ($19) was refreshing and reminiscent of a mule. My friend had the Milk Kiss ($19) that came in the cutest cup that was a nice twist on the classic Makgeolli --Korean rice wine. The Hulu Punch ($20) was a popular choice that even came with a strawberry tanghulu. I was really wowed by all the cocktails and can't wait to come back and try the rest of them. It's perfect for a date or girls night out here. Plus, the aesthetics is perfection. We also added the Truffle Popcorn ($13) for a light nibble. The popcorn had a strong truffle flavor and went great with the drinks. Loving all the drinks and vibe of this spot!

So happy I found Barbam after eating dinner in the area. The bar is located in the basement of Rib No.7. It's accessible by descending down a staircase behind the check-in counter. Barbam is spacious, clean, and minimalist. The servers and bartenders were friendly and provided great recs. I had 3 drinks because everything on the menu sounded delicious lol. My favorites were the Naegmyeon and the Oedo Botania. Naegmyeon was surprisingly refreshing for a whiskey-based cocktail. It didn't exactly taste like cold noodles, but I can definitely see how it's inspired. The garnish of cucumber and pear were cute too. Oedo Botania had the best presentation with a smoke bubble and tasted light and sweet. Milk Kiss was just okay. I can't wait to come back and try other cocktails on the menu!

Very fun & aesthetic cocktail bar under Rib No.7! Every drink had experimental Korean-inspired flavors which was really fun, and makes sense for a bar in ktown. My favorites were definitely the Hadong festival (frothy matcha red bean drink), Jang Trio (ice cream with fermented doengjang/gochujang/ganjang + rice puffs), and Naengmyeon. We basically tried the whole menu but none of the other drinks really stood out to me, although they were all good. Also, I believe the alcohol content in the drinks was quite low since my friends and I each had three drinks but I only felt buzzed, so that was the main downside, especially at the high price point of $20-24 per drink. Finally a new cocktail bar in Ktown! Nice new and comparable addition to George bang bang and osamil. This is underneath Rib no.7, super elegant and classy interior bar design with very pretty drinks with Asian focused drinks that are also delicious! We've tried out pretty much every drink on the menu and here are my thoughts: Best drinks presentation: 1. JMT (what they are most known, as seen on social media)- maker's mark, lime juice, Jeju mandarin juice, egg white, yuzu marmalade, peychaud's bitters (barbam ranked the taste profile as strong and citrus, I thought it wasn't that strong and was very well balanced: 2. Oedo botania (comes out with one of those dry ice bubble)- plantation, lilet blanc, apple juice, lime juice (super refreshing like a mint mojito ) 3. Bam fashioned (they light up the piece of the pine) Hennessy VSOP, pere maglore, angostura bitters, chocolate bitters (the chestnut garnish went perfectly with the strong drink) My fave drink in terms of the flavors: Naengmyeon-sunctory rum, ancho Reyes, lemon juice, cucumber (so refreshing and so good!) Least fave drink: Hulu punch - riazu plata, red monkey makgeoli, lemon and cranberry juice, omija, vanilla bitters (has a strawberry tang hulu as the decoration but this is way too sweet.... And creamy)

Great ambiance, drinks, food etc. We walked in the Friday before Labor Day weekend at 5pm and we had the place to ourselves but heard it's usually busy. Attention to detail and staff were amazing

This is the cutest lil speakeasy in ktown! It's relatively new and small though so it's pretty difficult to get a larger party seated: we saw larger groups getting turned away. I came with a group of 3 and we had to wait around ~45 minutes to get seated. All of their drinks are super aesthetic: my favorites were Milk Kiss (milkis inspired), JMT and Naengmyeon. Milk Kiss and JMT were soo pretty (JMT's the one they light up on fire and Milk Kiss is served in an adorable little cup with a spout). Their drinks were pretty strong but I loved how everything was Korean inspired. My only complaint here was that service was reallyy slow. Nobody came to take our order for the first 10 or so minutes and we had to flag them down, and even after it took another 20 minutes to get our drink. When we ordered our second round, they also forgot one of our drinks and we had to proceed to wait an additional 20 minutes after.

This is a new Korean speakeasy under restaurant Rib No 7 and it's pretty intimate and vibey! There are both bar seats and more table like seats (up to 4 people). Each cocktail is around $20 and there is a limited menu for small bites. We got the Truffle Popcorn (which was actually really yummy b/c the truffle flavor was significant) and the Patatas Bravas (this one I was disappointed about b/c it was such a small portion size and the sauce was just ok). The bartenders are all super friendly and are open to answer any questions you may have about the menu or give recommendations. Each cocktail is beautifully made and the presentation of them is like art. JMT is the one they light the fire around the glass (make sure to have your camera ready to record! and Milk Kiss tastes exactly like milkis! I especially appreciated the chart in the back of the menu showing where each cocktail stood in terms of their flavor, which helped me decide what I wanted to drink. There were a lot of times available when making the resy but we were asked to leave after around 1.5 hrs because there were other parties waiting. Glad to see that people are finding out about this place!!

Came in on a Friday night， right before they open at 5pm Pretty quiet since we were early, and they are new. Service was very good, bartenders explained every cocktail very well!! Love how they brought in Korean culture to their drinks! Drinks were pretty good but small menu. We liked our first 2 drinks, very cute, not so sweet. When it comes to fox rain, to me it smells like one of the Japanese sore throat medicine, but this is very personal! Besides that, taste was ok, very nice presentation of the drinks! We were told they can also make all classic cocktails that's not on the menu. Food menu was limited, not the same menu as the restaurant upstairs. Tried the beef tartare, first few bites were very sweet, just like many Korean foods, then we tasted sea salt at the center, guess we were supposed to mix the tartare before eating? Not our favorite. But will definitely come back for their drinks!

Barbam js a new cozy speakeasy under Rib no 7, with great drinks! I got the hadong festival, which was delicious and tasted very similar to matcha red bean bingsu or ice cream. My boyfriend got the hulu punch, which was relatively light and refreshing. I definitely want to go back to try some of their other drinks, since I saw some with great presentation!

Steps downstairs from Rib No 7 you'll enter a sweet escape of a long bar now known as BARBAM. Swanky, sleek, and inviting all at once. We grabbed some before dinner drinks and boy were we in for a treat. Price wise it's about the same as any other bar, but the execution and presentation are beyond. Visually pleasing and zero disappointment when it came to taste. The menu offers a cute citrus/sweet and hi/lo content map and we opted for the Nangmeon and Hulu Punch. Both remarkable in their own ways. The first I would liken to a tamer Moscow mule refreshing and topped with Korean pear cucumber and golden flakes The second was a creamier treat with a topped delight of candied strawberry! We snagged the fried chicken which was paired with a wasabi mayo and a gochujang type sauce. Portion was modest but taste was great! Would definitely stop by again

Wonderful little cocktail spot at the bottom of Rib No 7 in ktown! Every drink I had here was great and inspired by Korea. I had the hadong festival with soju, red bean, and matcha and it was deliciously balanced between alcohol and sweetness. I also got the milk kiss that came in a fun cup. Great cocktail bar

wow this is definitely one of my favorite bars in NYC. tied for first place with double chicken please in my books! everything i tried was so delicious. the ambiance was so luxurious and beautiful. every drink was so good and fun to try. what a great addition to ktown!

what a fun experience and a cool new cocktail bar in ktown! i love the asian flavors to each drink and how engaging the presentation is, service was also so kind and checked in on us (water refills!!!) regularly the drinks; got the JMT, hulu punch, cha cha cha, and bam fashioned - JMT and bam fashioned both light on FIRE, hulu punch comes with the most delicious strawberry tanghulu, and the cha cha cha comes with dry ice and tastes sooooo good! my fav the space: bigger than i expected but def expect to wait! the service: so attentive

All we can say is... it's amazing! My husband and I were in NY for an event 2 weekends ago, and luckily, my husband found this speakeasy bar on Yelp. It was one of a kind experience! We will definitely go back on our next visit to NY.

I realllly enjoyed this place, from the presentation to delivery. My only complaint was that despite the restaurant not being too busy, our bartender wasn't very engaged and we had to flag them down every time even when our drinks were empty. But overall a must try, highlight for food was the tar tar :)

This is literally my perfect bar. It's not too loud, and you can definitely have a conversation here. The drinks are SO DELICIOUS as well!! I had the JMT, which had amazing presentation. The Hulu Punch was also so delicious and had a little tanghulu topping!! Superb drinks and ambiance, and you can definitely tell that the bartenders really care about their craft.

This new speakeasy under rib no 7 is very unique. It offers a chart to show you where every drink lies in terms of alcohol level and in terms of the taste, whether it be more sweet or citrusy. This bar is perfect for the ones who love aesthetic drinks and have options for sweet drinks. They definitely have strong drinks too, but for the ones who love sweet drinks this place has it for sure! The Hulu punch is my favorite!! It used makgeolli, Korean rice wine, in the drink and it is topped with a tanghulu. Milk kiss used yogurt in it and is more on the sweet side. Cha cha cha has the best presentation. Not only is it served in teapot but also it had dry ice with it. To make Jang Trio, they used liquid nitrogen to make it. This one is more like an ice cream. The staff is nice and they have both bar seats and table seats.
