We had a few hours to spare in Palma before heading to Pollença, so my wife and I stopped for lunch at Barbar and sat at the kitchen counter. What a gem! We shared several dishes — pez limón, salpicón de bogavante, and chipirón a la brasa — all fantastic. A great spot to watch the chefs in action and enjoy creative, flavorful food. We’ll definitely return next time we’re in Mallorca.

Memorable dining experience. All dishes are very creative without overdoing them. Only downside was that the wine seemed to be a bit overpriced and that some of our dishes had the same type of sauce which could have easily been flagged by our waitress.

The food was absolutely divine, and the service was even more outstanding! We came to celebrate a birthday, and every member of the team was warm, attentive, and professional. A special thank you to Ivana, who beautifully arranged and presented the cake, and to Valentina, who kindly captured the special moment for us. We truly enjoyed our evening and highly recommend trying the tomato bread, tuna with strawberries, red prawn carpaccio, and red mullet. The seafood was prepared to perfection, and everyone had a wonderful time. While a service charge wasn’t required, we happily added one as it was more than deserved. Thank you for making our celebration so wonderful. We look forward to returning some day.

An unforgettable culinary experience! The dishes were presented more creatively than we’ve ever seen – served on stone plates with incredible attention to detail. We also loved the placement of our table, which gave us fascinating insights into the kitchen and the chefs at work. Unfortunately, the only downside was the waitress, who repeatedly coughed while serving, including when preparing and bringing our coffee. This was quite off-putting, especially in an otherwise exceptional setting. Still, the food and atmosphere were truly outstanding and made the evening very special.

Hello, I went to Barbar for dinner with my friends when visiting Mallorca last year. I have a non life threatening nut allergy, which I have specified at the time of booking. If you have an allergy, please make sure you walk to the kitchen and tell them personally, and triple check you food because they do not look at the booking. I have been served a dish sprinkled all over with the pine nut and I have managed to put a spoonful in my mouth before I noticed. I would like to add that pine nut was not listed as an ingredient on the menu either. As a result ended up in hospital over night. They wanted to keep me longer but I had to catch a flight and asked to be discharged. I have spent another couple of days in hospital back home. We have not been offered as much as discount. The most shocking part was, the response of the waitress after pointing out that the dish is covered in pine nuts. She simply said 'I will bring you something else, but just don't die in the next 24h'. I have e-mailed the restaurant numerous times as I had a hospital bill to settle, and I have not received a reply or as much as 'sorry' for their negligence. I would not recommend going there as they simply don't care about your safety nor wellbeing. Cannot tell you if the food was any good, because I was sick within 15 min after eating it.

We had an exceptionally good lunch at Barbar today in Palma and visited with our baby. The staff could not have been more helpful or welcoming. We were seated very quickly and given a wonderful table, and everyone was genuinely kind and friendly throughout. The food was excellent — the tuna in particular was outstanding, as was the squid. Overall, it was a relaxed, warm experience with great food and service. I would certainly return and couldn’t recommend Barbar more highly.

While the food stays good the service lacks clearly behind by e.g. not being considerate with serving dessert or wine. In the end this is the weakest point of Barbar and has been for quite while.especially with the price that is beeing asked for the evening.

Love love love this Spanish tapas place that we visited during our honeymoon in Mallorca and it did not disappoint! Everything we ordered was so good and satisfying that I can’t wait to go back and try their other menu items! Highly recommend their tomato bread and the red tuna with strawberries starter!
