"Homestyle seafood graces the menu at Barbara Jean’s On The Water. The restaurant is known for its back patio, where guests can take in views of the inlets as they enjoy a drink and wait for their food to arrive. This is one of a few places in town to find true southern-style catfish, where diners can get it battered and fried or spicy grilled with their choice of two sides like white cheddar grits and the ultra nostalgic Ambrosia salad." - Megan duBois

"Coastal comfort food is on the menu at Barbara Jean’s On The Water, which is nestled along the Intercoastal Waterway. The down home restaurant serves southern favorites like fried catfish and shrimp and grits. For those who aren’t seafood fans, pot roast and turkey and dressing are both notable options. And if given the option, choose to sit outside and dine while waving as boats pass by." - Megan duBois

I honestly don’t even know where to start—this experience was that good. My sister-in-law and brother live in Jacksonville, and this is her favorite restaurant. They brought me here, and now I completely understand why. I have zero negative or even constructive feedback. It was a solid 10 out of 10! From the moment we walked in, everything was five stars: the friendly greeter, the attentive servers, the incredible food and drinks, the cozy indoor space and breezy outdoor seating—it all felt perfect. The vibes were immaculate. I almost always order shrimp and grits when I’m dining out, mostly because I don’t even try to make them myself. I’ll admit I’m pretty particular, but this plate of shrimp and cheesy grits was hands-down the best I’ve ever had—and I’ve had some great ones. I mean cheesy grits, not just grits with cheese sprinkled on top. There’s a real difference, and they nailed it. The portion was hearty and satisfying, too. Now let’s talk about that bread basket everyone raves about. I wasn’t sure what to expect, but it blew me away. A variety of breads—not the usual standard mix—and every single one I tried was delicious. I also had an alcoholic drink that was perfectly crafted and matched the meal beautifully. Honestly, I’m just over here hoping Barbara Jean will consider opening a location in Indianapolis. We need this kind of flavor and experience up here. I forgot! Please get the key lime pie!!!! I CAME BACK TELLING MY BOYFRIEND THAT WE NEED TO TAKE A TRIP TO JACKSONVILLE JUST FOR BARBARA JEAN'S FOOD.

Google
Absolutely amazing experience. The customer service was top-notch and the owner personally greeted us and took the time to chat, which made us feel right at home. The food was delicious across the board. The country fried steak was perfectly cooked, and the house made breads were outstanding especially the jalapeño cornbread and the pumpkin bread. Don’t miss the coconut shrimp either they’re huge, flavorful shrimp cooked to perfection. Everything we tried was fantastic. Highly recommend this place. Will be back again.

Google
Phenomenal food, the coconut shrimp are top notch. The bread basket is SMACK YER MAMA DELICIOUS. really enjoyed the hospitality and cozy relaxing atmosphere. Cannot recommend this restaurant enough!!

Visited Barbara Jean’s for my birthday. The scenery was gorgeous, sail boats going by on the intercoastal waterway. I had the blackened Tuna which was amazing, large portions and the fish of the day was red snapper. My husband Lee had the red snapper blackened. Very flaky and delicious. The staff was friendly and personable. We enjoyed ourselves immensely. The crab cake was delicious. The menu said they were voted best crab cake 5 years in a row.

Took my wife here last night for her Birthday!! The food was actually really good! The bread sampler they gave out at the beginning was phenomenal!!!! I got the pot roast which is something I wouldn't normally get, but the flavor was on point and it had minimal fat. My wife got the shrimp salad on a regular bun, she also enjoyed it! The sides were decent, except the spinach was flavorless.. but the fact that they had so many sides to choose from was awesome! Got the key lime tart to go! Yummmmm! We will definitely be back.

Google
I will definitely be visiting again! The food and service were great. I tried the crab cake and much to my surprise it was tasty! Thank you for great customer service!😊

Google
Very good food, service and atmosphere. Quick to be seated, drinks came out fast and food as well. I definitely recommend!

Google
Delicious food, grits were on point, coconut shrimp was fresh 😋 and the cat fish was delicious. The view made unforgettable.

Yelp
The 7 oz crab cake was wonderful. It wasn't full of filler, and it came with two sides. I tried the cabbage and green beans, and those were surprisingly good. If you have an opportunity to try anything, though, choose the She Crab Soup. I wish I would've offered a bowl of it instead of just a cup. We had great service, and we chose to sit outside by the water. It was July, but it was a really nice evening with the breeze coming off the water. Great experience.

Carie I.

Yelp
No. Just no. If you want drinks- meh maybe. Basically the food and place was a 'please don't waste your time and money' place but if you decide to go- DO NOT ORDER A STEAK. We nicely sent it back due to the cook temperature... the Manager brought it back out and said ' this is OUR medium rare' and gave the steak back to us. Like ... I'm sorry WHAT?? There was no pink at all and what kind of customer service is that?? You brought it back to us?? Unacceptable is not even the right phrase. He did eventually come back out - remove the steak from our ticket and offer us something else .. If you Do decide to go ask for Alex! He's awesome!

Yelp
Andrea the server and shift manager reined a perfectly great day and our afternoon totally unnecessary other than to try to assert some sort of arrogant superiority attitude. It seemed like the other servers were afraid of her really disrespectful work environment. So we came in were seated outside at a high top 5 minutes went by then 5 more and we were seated across from the door so we could see 2-3 servers just leaning on the wait station so my wife goes in and asks who our server is. Andrea says with an attitude she's coming my wife comes back to the table and 2 minutes later Andrea comes to the table and says it's only been two minutes since you were seated I've been watching your server is busy. It was at least 10 before my wife went in we are way more patient than that. So after I apologized for interrupting her she got really confrontational would not let it go it was embarrassing my wife left and went to the car. I tried to get past her to our server who was really nice apologized for Andrea. I said to Andrea several times if you could just say your server is busy how can I help it's my pleasure this could have gone so different. Thats the problem with folks who want to earn tips but don't understand hospitality or are passionate about the service industry it's so disappointing. It's uncomfortable to be chastised by a server just for asking who would be waiting on us after 10+ minutes. But it didn't end there the owner came out our car before we left apologizing but spent more time defending the server and make excuses for her, he never said he would talk to her coach her so for that reason we are out. We can go right next door where the restaurant has impeccable service that's why their parking lot is always full. I feel bad but there are too many restaurants with good service to be embarrassed and disrespected.

Yelp
After going to the beach nearby, my boyfriend and I wanted some seafood, and I came upon this place on Yelp. It is such a cute little joint on the water & it feels very homey. It's totally dark except for the lights coming from the outdoor seating area. We were lucky enough to sit right by the water and see all the catfish, which was super cool! We also loved how casual it was since we just came from the beach, but some people were more dressed up. They start you off with bread and o m g this bread was SO delicious. I usually don't like bread but I loveddddd this stuff. I got their crab cake, which they say is the best in Jacksonville & my boyfriend got shrimp. The crab cake was ok but not my favorite, I did really like the shrimp though. Our waitress was very sweet too. Definitely a cool spot to check out!

Rich G.

Yelp
Lunch today. I had the grilled catfish with dirty rice and coleslaw. Two pieces of catfish- yep leftovers. Wife had meatloaf also yummy. Plenty of parking- Will took good care of us. It's a 5.

Steve S.

Yelp
Beautiful location right on the waterway. As a photographer I was in heaven. Sitting on the back deck on the water, we saw plenty of pelicans, a blue heron, egret, and even a bald eagle. Our waitress was great, she knew I was there to take pics but still came to check on us periodically to make sure we did not need anything. We did have some appetizers while we there, and the price to size ratio was phenomenal. We had some coconut shrimp and some loaded French fries. I'm looking to go back and try some of their entrees next.

Keegan H.

Yelp
Great atmosphere on the intercoastal waterway! Food is so delicious and you get what you pay for! Crab Chowder / She Crab soup has the most crab in it vs any other restaurant within an hour drive. The Lobster Roll has the most lobster in it vs anywhere outside of Maine. It's quiet, but has its own spirit to it. I also admire it because Barbara Jean Conley was my grandma's name! I'll come here often! I recommend this place often to friends! 8.8/10

Christina D.

Yelp
This is a neat spot to try out. It has a nice back patio on the water (which was closed due to weather at our visit) and can get quite crowded if you come right at dinner time. Recommend the famous crab cakes & casseroles with the bread basket but my husband said to pass on the chicken fried steak. The pricier meals come with a bread basket that has delicious bread that tastes like cake & butter that is pretty much an orange frosting. The food is good but pricey for simple dishes you can cook at home, so I recommend you try it out and see if you find it worth coming back...

Linda R.

Yelp
Meh wasn't great - ordered the fish sandwich and it was a thin piece that was blackened with way too much seasoning making it very salty for $18 with greasy fries, the salad was ok nothing great...sorry can't recommend it.

Noelle P.

Yelp
Overall service as this place is what is to be expected. I thought the cocunut shrimp was done to perfection with just enough crisp. The fries were definitely order and lacked seasoning. The pumpkin bread and corn bread they provide when you first sit down is the perfect amount of moist! They also provide what almost tastes like cinnamon frosting as a butter. Overall I give it a 4 mainly because of the fries. Would absolutely go back to get the Coconut shrimp.

Kimlay K.

Yelp
Good food with nice view. Kid friendly with lots of boats coming by as you dine el fresco.

Kat G.

Yelp
A great place for some fresh southern cooking! Lots of options, good for dates or groups. Sitting outside on the water is really nice! Our order: - the veggie plate: I did Mac n cheese, green beans, squash casserole, cabbage. I love all of them! Full of flavor. The squash casserole wasn't my favorite but it was still good! - meatloaf: very tender and plenty of gravy! The service was excellent! Our server was so helpful and kind.

Erica C.

Yelp
Another good visit. Warning: Don't arrive around 6 on Saturday or you will have a long wait- worth it but love to come other days with no delay. Outside Seating: Always a great view, worth coming when lighter out to really enjoy- we arrived too late Bread basket: Pumpkin, Jalapeño Cornbread, Wheat butter rolls Meals: Crab cakes galore (7 oz sandwich, a couple 5 oz on pretzel bread, and the crab cake and coconut shrimp platter) and a kids meatloaf and gravy. Sides: Fries, Grits, Squash casserole (yum), and broccoli cheddar rice (surprisingly good with crisp Broccoli)

Nina E.

Yelp
Amazing food and j had such a great time and ven when my 6 yr old wasn't behaving. The bread basket omg yummy options, my buttermilk shrimp was on point. My cousin had the fish of the day and it was grilled and amazing, my 6yr old chicken tender and fries and my picky vegetarian boyfriend had the veggie plate- so there's options for many different palettes. Go there and sit outside but when it's not so hot. Amazing and attentive servers as well.

Pat K.

Yelp
Food was delicious, service terrific. Nice atmosphere on the water. Would definitely go back.

Brendan L.

Yelp
Not bad, but not great. I will start by saying that we had very subpar service that really made the entire experience less than ideal. The food was good but all of the side condiments and such never came (like side dressing and such) and nobody stopped to check on us. Can't say I'll be back but I'm glad we tried it out! Views are amazing and the rum cocktail I got was delish, but pricy.

Heather S.

Yelp
We went here for my mom's choice on Mother's Day. We loved the outdoor area. A little crowded feeling as far as seating. But the food was pretty good and the service was prompt.

Tonjameka S.

Yelp
Cornbread . Jalapeño and Pumpkin catfish grilled with dirty rice Cabbage Crab cakes She crab soup Battered shrimp- The batter had no taste Our waiters Griffin was nice. The staff greet you at the door to get you seated Regular Family Dining Atmosphere. Will definitely be back

Yelp
Solid 4- while I haven't dined here in years, I have always thought of their delicious bread basket filled with various breads, including a pumpkin bread! The menu has traditional comfort foods like a turkey plate, meatloaf, roast beef and also seafood platters too. John and I opted for the coconut shrimp platters and I tried a cup of their New England Clam Chowder. Chowder- delicious, a little different than I ecxpected Coconut Shrimp- I had remembered these being amazing at another location in St Simon's Island and ordered it in a heartbeat with green beens and the broccoli rice casserole. Shrimp were a little heavy on the breading but still yummy. Green beans were so good. The casserole was a miss for me- it just wasn't as good as I wanted it to be. When you enter- there is no clear hostess station. It was a little confusing. We sat outside on the deck (which was lovely). Service took forever to approach us- it was borderline awkward. I was looking around wondering which of the bustling servers would be ours. But once we got past that comfortableness everything was good.

Barry L.

Yelp
Usually a good experience and good food, but not last night. It started well with a bowl of "She" Crab soup, full of flavor with ample chunks of crab. I had the "BJ's" salad which was Ok. However, it quickly turned downhill from there. My wife ordered pot roast with a loaded baked potato. The potato had a big rotten section in the middle and the pot roast was cold and fatty. Needless to say we sent it back to the kitchen. The potato was fine but the pot roast was obviously reheated in a microwave. Usually the restaurant sends the manager to the table to inquire whether we are satisfied with the meal and at a minimum comps a dessert, if not the whole meal. But not tonight I guess. So I'll have to think twice about returning any time soon.

Jean B.

Yelp
Beautiful water views. Tasty down home cooking. Casual welcoming atmosphere. Great service and plenty of parking.

Lou H.

Yelp
Food was delicious and the atmosphere was perfect. Laid back place on the water. The food that we ate was the shrimp pasta and the fish. Both dishes had a great taste. Definitely will go back to try different plates.

Carey P.

Yelp
i'm verrrrry confused how this place has an almost four star rating. the bread basket came with a (singular) roll (which was fine), a jalapeño cornbread (it was sweet like cake and dryyyy), a pumpkin cornbread (??? it's may??? why?), and a little thing of sweet butter (why is everything sweet here?). i ordered the fish bites and a side of cheese grits- they were fine, not super flavorful. the portion of grits was real skimpy for $3.50. my sister ordered the salmon filet and it came out really well done, kinda crispy, which she didn't want. she had it sent back and requested it not be so well done. when it came back, it was even more well done than the last. the server was really kind and apologetic, and took it off the bill for us. it's a cool spot, nice little view of the river but not great if you actually wanna eat.

Kelly T.

Yelp
We ate outside on the patio overlooking the intercoastal waterway and were so happy we did. The view was great. The food also did not disappoint. Our party had the shrimp and grits, crab cakes and lobster roll. Everything was good.

Marcia W.

Yelp
GREAT CRABCAKES served efficiently on the ICW! Cornbread and pumpkin bread are stellar!!!

April D.

Yelp
The service was great, food was great, atmosphere was great!!! OMG the pumpkin bread!! Can't remember the servers name but he has red hair...he was awesome!!

Dennis G.

Yelp
Location: Jacksonville Beach area, Ponte Verde. I really wanted to like this place. My Mom's name was Barbara and we went on what would have been her birthday. The view is nice, the service was excellent. But frankly, everything else was so-so. I got the impression the locals like it. But based on the parking lots, they liked the place next door much better. I should have followed their lead, but I let sentiment override reason. I hate leaving reviews that are less than 4 stars, but sometimes, you just have too. Barbara Jean: You have a nice spot. Do better.

Andre G.

Yelp
I've lost count how many times we've been to Barbara Jean's. Every time someone new comes to visit us, this is the first place we take them. Amazing food, views, and staff :)

Andrea N.

Yelp
The two times I have went for a large party it was awful. It took them over an hour to seat us and when they did it was so tight and not comfortable for anyone. I have been with a party of 4 and that was good. Food is always Awesome!!! I just think it is a place that is better for smaller parties. But overall the food is always on point.

JiMmy P.

Yelp
The Jaguars were on a bye week so it was a perfect time and great weather to have lunch by the water at Barbara Jean's. We were seated right away upon arrival. Great service! We watched a few boats pass by while eating. Let's talk about the food. Plentiful for the price. * Bread basket - comes with your entree; three types of breads which included a yeast roll, cornbread, and pumpkin bread. Soft and fresh. * Shrimp and Grits - grilled shrimp and spicy Andouille sausage over creamy cheese grits. The bowl started creamy then became a little soupy after several minutes, but still pretty hearty. The dirty rice as one of its side dishes was a nice addition. Spicy combination of rice, peppers, onions, celery, sausage, and chicken. * Pot Roast - slow cooked and served with brown gravy which we paired with mashed potatoes and cabbage for our two sides. The pot roast was a little salty, but still finished the whole plate. * Bread Pudding - made with raisins and topped with a soft vanilla sauce. Definitely loaded with raisins and a little too much for me. Came piping hot from the oven. I prefer it room temperature. Pretty minor complaints from me, but we did enjoy our lunch. I'm a fan and highly recommend Barbara Jean's on the Water for its relaxing views of the Intracoastal Waterway.

Lea P.

Yelp
We have been to the other neighboring restaurants here but this is our first time at Barbara Jean's. Weather was cool and sunny so we opted to be seated by the river. We had a beautiful view of the water and the people on their boats! For the food, we ordered the following: Pot Roast with sides of mashed potatoes and cooked cabbage - plenty of servings! However the beef was a tad salty. The sides were good! Shrimp & Grits with dirty rice and green beans - I love everything on this plate! The dirty rice was tasty! The grits was so smooth, but when I mixed my bowl, it became soupy. Still, the flavor was great! Banana Pudding- it was quite hot when served, apparently it just came straight from the oven. Hubby like it room temperature and I want it a little bit cold lol, but it was soft with a little bit of crunch. Yummy, but too much raisins for us! It would've been better with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Our entrees came with a bread basket. I think it's a mix of cornbread and Hawaiian roll. We enjoyed every bite! We can't wait to go back! The view alone is something I look forward to!

Yelp
I had a delightful dining experience at Barbara Jeans that left me thoroughly impressed. From the moment I walked in, I was greeted with warm smiles and an inviting ambiance. One of the first things that caught my attention was the complimentary bread they served. Oh, what a treat it was! The jalapeño corn bread was simply divine, with its perfect balance of spice and sweetness. It set the tone for an excellent meal ahead. For my main course, I opted for the crab cakes, and I was not disappointed. The crab cakes were expertly prepared, with a crispy exterior and a tender, flavorful center. Each bite was a burst of seafood goodness, and I could tell that the ingredients were fresh and carefully selected. The accompanying sauce complemented the dish perfectly, adding an extra layer of indulgence. The portion size was just right, leaving me satisfied but not overly stuffed. Throughout my dining experience, the service was attentive without being intrusive, and the staff was knowledgeable about the menu, providing excellent recommendations. The overall ambiance was cozy and relaxed, making it a perfect spot for a casual yet sophisticated evening out. I highly recommend Barbara Jeans to anyone looking for a place with great food, a welcoming atmosphere, and of course, that unforgettable jalapeño corn bread. I'll definitely be returning to explore more of their menu in the future.

Denny P.

Yelp
This place was absolutely perfect!!! Perfect spot, perfect service. The food was amazing. The laid back ambience was what we were looking for and they nailed it!!

LaShawn T.

Yelp
I had both of their known-for favorites, the crab cake and she crab soup. Although they were decent, but definitely not the best in Jacksonville. Soup could use more flavor and crab cake cooked more on inside.

Brian M.

Yelp
Great food and service, outdoor seating overlooking the inter coastal waterway; Melissa attentive server, took the order which was delivered perfectly. Everyone enjoyed their entrees. Great place for families. We will be back!

Earleen H.

Yelp
Had a wonderful dinner sitting outside enjoying the Intracoastal waterway view. I usually have the fish bites but saw shrimp scampi on the menu and gave it a try. I'm sure glad I did! It was reallllllly good!! I'll definitely get it again. I even remembered to take a picture before I started eating - a truly rare event! Shawn was our server. She provided excellent, friendly service and was very knowledgeable of the menu.

Julie S.

Yelp
This was our first time eating here. We chose to sit outside it was a beautiful night. The staff was amazing and very attentive. The food was fresh and delicious.

Michael C.

Yelp
Been frequenting Barbara Jean's, this location, for over 10 years. This is a southern cuisine restaurant. One thing that's important to me other than a single visit quality dining experience, is consistency upon returning, after all, that's what keeps us coming back. I've had most things on the menu over the years, and all are always very tasty, visit after visit. My favorite is their southern fried catfish (best anywhere around) and chicken fried chicken (with lots of gravy of course). They have a large variety of vegetables, all fixed in the southern style. In fact, you can get a vegetable plate for the vegans out there. They bring out (at no extra charge I might add) homemade rolls and corn bread (no charge on refills). They are also famous for crab cakes and She Crab Soup - both are outstanding. OK, here's the bonus you will want to go there just for this - THE CHOCOLATE STUFF! OMG! One excellent chocolate dessert! Think...bowl of liquid hot fudge brownie goo you eat with a spoon. Great view of intercoastal water way, with both inside and outside seating. Service is always great.

Leunen T.

Yelp
Just moved to St Augustine from Boise , Idaho and Barbara Jean's epitomizes the waterfront restaurant. Had a dockside table to watch the boats go by, and sampled the beer selection. The waiter was very knowledgeable and we finally decide on the 3-item selection which included the crab cake...delicious! The bread basket with three varieties was a nice touch, and overall this meal with good portions was very filling for an early afternoon meal. Barbara Jean's is on my list of go-to spots, both for the setting and cuisine !

Lauren S.

Yelp
Food is sub standard, overpriced. Service is sufficient. Wouldn't recommend and don't plan on going back

Yelp
Atmosphere and food was Amazing! Andrea was awesome as well! Food came out hot and her service was right on time!

Yelp
Had lunch here the other day. Appetizer was chicken fingers with breading and pecans and I could not taste them at all. The highlight was when a seagull stole a chunk of them off the plate, I didn't miss it. My wife had a salad with fried chicken, she said it was OK and the herbal vinaigrette dressing was good. I had the country fried steak. It was awful. The meat itself was extremely dense/hard. The breading was too thick and fell off in chunks. The gravy was bland and flavorless. The sides were both forgettable. The bread basket was pretty good. The jalapeño corn bread was tasty. I would not recommend dining here. It was nice sitting by the water, though.

Raed B.

Yelp
Anyone who likes Country Fried Steak understands that when your mind says you have to have it then you're basically on autopilot till that itch is scratched. I searched CFS in the Scoop reviews to see who the big gamers were. Some familiar names came up and you're welcome to mention them in the comments as I plan on trying others. I did go to Cracker Barrel but chose not to review it here as it was simply ok but not exceptional. For my day off indulgence I selected Barbara Jean's. An Intracoastal waterfront spot on South Roscoe Rd widely famous for their Crab Cakes. I arrived a little before 2pm, after the lunch crowd(as I've heard it's quite the busy spot). I walked in and was greeted by Geean( like Ian but with a G), a lovely gal with a great personality. She escorted me to the waterfront table I requested. My server Kennedy arrived shortly after and took my Bloody Mary drink order which was prepared by Pat who was doubling as Bar Tender/Food Runner/Busser and Manager(I can relate). He explained there was Jalapeño infused Vodka in my Bloody and let me tell you it was spicy and delicious and not at all Jalapeñoee(if that's a word). Moments later Geean approached my table to take my order but not after I observed her visiting every other table on the deck and then explaining that my server had severely cut his finger (turns out Geean is a registered nurse as well). She was impressive but most of all cool and pleasant the whole time even if she was getting her butt run off. I ordered the Country Fried Steak with Broccoli and Rice Casserole and the Squash Casserole with a small side salad as a starter. I apologize I did not take a photo but let me tell you it was the most impressive side salad I've had, large fresh and hearty and around $7.5. Geean also brought a wonderful bread basket with a piece of cornbread, pumkin bread(omg) and the pictured wheat roll. The CFS was absolutely delicious. The steak itself was a good portion, tender and juicy with a very flavorful breading and zippy white gravy. Both sides were well made and tasty though I probably wouldn't get the squash casserole again to try a different side. My dessert was a second Bloody as good as the first. All in all a great trip and dining experience and an absolute recommend on the Country Fried Steak. The service was great despite being short handed. And one other thing, the men's bathroom was super clean... Plus plus plus

Kelli P.

Yelp
We love Barbara Jeans! (Also enjoyed it at Saint Simon's island GA) food is tasty and portion sizes are great. My husband said the jambalaya was seasoned very well! My mom and I very much enjoyed the fish bites - very flaky cod! Location here on the water is so nice / casual on the deck but very pleasant!

Gabriela S.

Yelp
Food was really good! Server was nice, definitely did a good job taking care of us. It can be loud if there are a lot of people there. Also heard from another customer talking to the chef or manager that if you are allergic to black pepper, salmon can be cooked without seasoning because the seasoning for the fish has black pepper. My parents' and I's experience was great! Key Lime tart was really good as well

Chelsea R.

Yelp
Man, if you want INCREDIBLE service and food y'all gotta come here!! So far we have been here twice and have had great food and service both times. Shout out to Griffin who was OUTSTANDING! We will be asking for him personally next time. He was on top of keeping our drinks filled, and touching our table at all the right times to make sure things were OK and we were taken care of. Which we were! Thank you Griffin! Tonight for our apps we got a crab cake (since they are well known for these) and the coconut shrimp. I wanted a crab cake because my extremely picky father always complains about how most of the places he goes to makes their crab cakes very dry and/or they have too much bread filling. I agreed with him but told him he HAD to try the ones here. He was blown away by how good they were! And I won't even lie, last time I was here I wasn't super all about the crab cakes but man, tonight I totally see the hype! Anyway, for my entree I got the grilled Cod over grits (I subbed out the rice), with a side of green beans and squash casserole. Squash casserole wasn't my favorite, a little on the sweet side. But WOW the cod was cooked so perfectly. It was like butter! Green beans were amazing too! My husband ordered the Tuna Steak and I typically am NEVER satisfied with tuna steaks. They are usually dry or overcooked. NOT TONIGHT! It was easily the best tuna steak I've ever had. We ended with the bread pudding. Don't do that. They are known for their brownie for a reason. The bread pudding was very soggy/mushy. It was supposed to be a pumpkin bread pudding? I couldn't taste pumpkin in there. My husband doesn't like that much chocolate though so that's why we went with the bread pudding. Oh well! Doesn't change how much I love this place! So happy we brought my dad out here to spend our last night together before he heads home tomorrow. Great way to wrap up his trip!

Yelp
Always great food and sitting on the deck watching boats go by is so relaxing. Wish they would have weekend breakfast again. It was a great gathering place for family and friends.

Yelp
Great place! We went on a busy Sunday, got a great table. The food was incredible (crab cakes were all crab) and service prompt and friendly. Family friendly. Right on the inter coastal. Definitely go there again!
