London’s New Restaurant Openings - London - The Infatuation

"The Big Mamma group continues their London domination, one chintzy plate and XXL bowl of truffle tagliatelle at a time. Their latest OTT Italian spot is in Canary Wharf. And yes, we will be visiting to figure out where Barbarella falls on our Big Mamma Power Rankings." - sinead cranna, rianne shlebak

Barbarella - Review - Canary Wharf - London - The Infatuation

"The Big Mamma group continues their London domination, one chintzy plate and XXL bowl of truffle tagliatelle at a time. Their OTT Italian spot in Canary Wharf serves a similarly crowd-pleasing menu of pastas, pizzas, and that ‘Tigramisù’. We haven’t been here yet, but want you to know this spot exists." - Sinéad Cranna

This place is spectacular. Came here for my birthday and I genuinely had the best evening. It has such a cosy and romantic atmosphere, the lighting is gorgeous and the interior is wow. The service was quick and Zenab took such good care of us. She answered any questions we had about the different food options. She was so quick and attentive. Honestly so great. The food was so so so tasty and well presented and the drinks????!!!!! Have never had a nicer tasting virgin Pina. You genuinely cannot go wrong with this place, a must visit.

Barbarella, Canary Wharf is absolutely beautiful from the moment you walk in! The theme and décor is stunning, giving the whole place a classy, sophisticated vibe. The food was not only delicious but presented with real drama, making every dish feel like a moment! The SPAGHETTONE AL TARTUFO was a highlight, packed with rich truffle flavor and cooked to perfection. The famous INCOMPARABLE LEMON PIE was just as impressive, both in taste, presentation and size! Overall, Barbarella delivers a stylish setting, great service, striking presentation and unforgettable dishes. A place I’d happily return to :)

From the moment we walked in, Anastasia and Ibrahim set the tone for an incredible dining experience. Their warm welcome, professionalism, and genuine hospitality made us feel instantly comfortable and well looked after. They truly went above and beyond. The excellence didn’t stop there. Every member of the team the waiters Alexia, Michele, Luis, Jason and Sara, bartenders Raphaela, Vicent and Mustapha and runners contributed to what became one of the best service experiences we’ve had. The waitstaff were attentive without being intrusive, the bartenders crafted drinks with skill and personality, and the runners ensured everything arrived promptly and perfectly presented. The coordination, friendliness, and dedication of the entire staff made the evening unforgettable. Exceptional service from start to finish; highly recommended!

Top notch Italian food in the heart of Canary Wharf! Everything we had was great, and I mean everything. The bolognese and mushroom pastas were excellent. The burrata was amazing and rich. The ricotta and parm pizza was to die for. They hosted our large group of 15 people with ease and our server was the most cheerful guy ever. Five stars easy!

Great place, super location, warm welcome at the door. Delicious wine, delicious starters and heavenly truffle pasta. The meat for the main courses was good, although my ossobuco was too greasy. Delicious desserts and friendly service from the waitress, Sara. Overall, a great evening with my family for daughter's birthday.

Had a wonderful evening at Babarella. The restaurant itself is stunning — modern, stylish, and with a lively but relaxed atmosphere (we sat upstairs and loved the buzzy, cosmopolitan vibe). Our waitress, Lorenza, was fantastic — friendly, attentive, and her recommendations were spot on. One of my friends wasn’t fully happy with their dish and she was quick to help, offering alternatives with no fuss at all, which we really appreciated. The food was delicious: the veal croquette was a standout, the cashew bread was incredible, and the cocktails were excellent. We finished with the tiramisu and it was perfect. Overall, great service, great food, great ambience. Highly recommend.

Very friendly and warm welcoming staff members. We came around 8pm and the dishes that we initially picked were not available. Actually 3 dishes were not available. I get it its end of day and business may run low on ingredients but some better preparations in the future would be great. Our second options were kinda okey however what we initially wanted would have been better. Drinks are great and staff was lovely though!!! A 7/10 experience.

A different Italian! My husband booked this place for my birthday dinner. He kept it as a surprise. The restaurant is within few metres of Canary Wharf tube station. Upon arrival we received a warm welcome. I received a birthday card signed by the squad of the restaurant. That was quite unique. I liked it! The interior is impressive, nice decor and the lights - all give it a posh look. For starter we ordered normal bread and garlic bread. With the first bite of each, I felt like it's completely different than any of them I have ever tasted. It was so good! For the mains, my first choice was not available, hence I went with the sea bass option "Branzino in Guazzetto". I was sceptical with the thought of tomato sauce being too tangy. When it arrived and I took the first taste, I felt like I have never tasted a sauce like that before. It was tastebud-awakening! So delicious! My husband had the pizza "Some Like It Hot", that was quite different tasting as well. It was slightly on hot side as it says. They don't have a kids menu but we went with the recommended one "Spaghettoni al Ragù di Agnellowhich". It was perfect for the little one. For the dessert we went for Creme Brulee, that came with a candle on top 😊 The service was superb throughout. Altogether it was an amazing dining experience and a perfect birthday meal! Thank you!
