Popped there as a walk-in since it’s nearby; the food was solid and the cocktails were great. The beet salad and artichokes were definite highlights - would go back for those alone.

Google
Had some great food and wine here , croquettes we’re really tasty as was the agnolotti and empanadas. They actually give you a decent amount of cheese for the charcuterie which is nice. Bread was delicious as well. The olive oil cake was good but it might have been the best flan ive ever had. Ive had alot of flans that just srent my thing but when places get them right they are delicious and this one definitely exceeded expectations. I love tapas spots and this will be added as a return date spot for me and the wife.

Bianca Ritorto

Google
Great tapas bar. Amazing prices for food quality! Didn’t get to try the wine but they had a huge selection. The croquetas were the star of the show, closely followed by charcuterie board. The squash hummus was not very flavourful, so maybe skip it. Would definitely come again and recommend sitting at the bar if you walk in!

Google
Oh how I love Barcelona Wine Bar... Their tapas are so delicious and I love how you can order so many, share with friends, and try all sorts of different dishes. HIGHLY recommend: potatoes (this is the BEST), brussel sprouts, meatballs. They are the best tapas in my opinion. We also got a nice chicken which was absolutely delicious, so juicy and tender. Plus, it's really not that expensive if you 1. don't get drinks 2. split with a lot of friends. I love this place and it's great for celebrations!

Google
Great selections of wine and cocktails and laid back atmosphere. Tapas were underwhelming, missed two dishes our server had to check and the end and brought in after we finished our food. 10/10 service of him though. Bone marrow came out cold and very bloody ish pink. Paella was rather bland and lacked some flavour.

Frank Papsadore

Google
The food was absolutely awful. The burrata was not burrata - just a small ball of mozzarella, and the acoutrements were tasteless. The Brussel sprouts must have been sitting in a pan all day, and the flank steak was gray, tasteless, grizzly... yuck!! The hostess / asst. Mgr was very nice, and our server was sweet and attentive. But nothing could save the experience. Have a glass of wine, but skip the food... these are not authentic, quality tapas at all.

Google
Great tapas restaurant with many options. The staff were very kind and welcoming. We went shortly after they opened and it was not very busy or crowded. The food was tasty and well presented. Parking is available on Mass. Ave though it’s harder to find when it’s busy.

Google
I've been here three times in a short span as I've really enjoyed it. The tapas are not all great, but none are bad. The croquettes, truffled bikini, and patatas bravas are all great. The Squid ink big plate was interesting and a good value but not quite good enough to get again. The pork belly was also very yummy. I recommend getting something unexpected and unique, it's hard to go wrong.

Yelp
Came here to celebrate my BIRTHDAY with a couple friends. The host who led us to our table gave me birthday wishes and told me to enjoy my time. However, when the server came, not a word was said. Business as usual. That's fine. Food was good. However at the end when all the plates were gathered, my friends were expecting some sort of dessert to be brought out for me but nothing came. One of my friends asked if he could bring out a little birthday dessert or something with a candle on it and all our server said was "I mean, I could bring you the dessert menu." Um. Thanks. How thoughtful. I get it if this restaurant doesn't do anything small like that for birthday celebrations but that's so sad. We spent over 200$ easily, the least you could do is comp an 8$ dessert lol. It wasn't thoughtful or kind. I would never celebrate or bring someone to celebrate their birthday here. Why do you ask in the reservation details if we are celebrating anything if no one even cares or does something to show for it? Makes no sense. Don't ask if you won't even acknowledge the reason for celebrating at YOUR restaurant. If you're just getting dinner & drinks, fine, this spot is ok, but go somewhere else to celebrate special occasions. Extremely disappointing.

Yelp
Came here with my roommate and we had a wonderful dining experience! As someone with celiac disease and needs to follow a gluten-free diet, I felt safe dining here. Our server was not only very friendly and attentive, she was also very knowledgeable on what was safe for me to eat on the menu and was able to mark up the menu clearly for me. My roommate and I ended up deciding to try a few tapas and then share a paella entree: -house-made ricotta: ricotta spread was incredibly fresh and light but I wasn't the biggest fan of their gf bread -chorizo with sweet & sour figs: my favorite out of the 3! Such a great combination of sweet and savory and sour *and* spicy since the chorizo had a slight kick that I really enjoyed -pork belly with zucchini relish: really enjoyed the texture of the pork belly - it was so tender with a crispy skin on the edge, though I felt like the portion size was a bit small compared to the price Finally, we also ordered the seafood paella, which is made fresh since they recommended us to order it at the same time as when we ordered our tapas. We ended up getting the half size, which is more than enough for two people in my opinion (especially if you're also trying a few tapas, we had so much leftovers to bring home). I really liked the paella - it came out steaming hot, was filled with different items of seafood and was incredibly fragrant and flavorful! There are a bunch of tapas that I'd still love to try so I would definitely come back here again. It's a great spot if you're looking for a slightly more upscale vibe!

Yelp
Came here with a friend before a night out, and the ambiance (dim lighting, a wine bottle display at the entrance) was wonderful for an evening catch up. We got a glass of wine each and olives to share, which were reasonably priced at just $7. We had to book two weeks in advance to get Friday evening reservations online, but were seated quickly when we arrived. I would come back again to try more of their tapas and dinner items on a date night!

Yelp
3.5 stars. Came with my niece and we ordered a good amount of different food. It was surprisingly, all just ok except for the cheeses. But they just buy and serve cheeses, there's no cooking involved. All the tapas that were cooked, were just ok. Nothing really stood out and a few things, like the leek tapa was undercooked. The bone marrow was lacking flavor and just tasted like fat. And dammit, I love bone marrow. The bread is really good though and the service is really stellar. I told my niece that I would come back with a group of people, get the charcuterie board but nothing else, and then move on to another place to get more food.

Yelp
I had great memories of dining at the Brookline Barcelona many years ago and was excited to try the Cambridge chapter. Food is great- we enjoyed the Paella Mariscos, Grilled Pulpo, Roasted Whole Branzino, and Eggplant Caponata the best- all perfectly cooked, very flavorful. The Gambas Al Ajillo was a bit too salty and was cooked 10 seconds too long, the Steak Paillard was okay but not terribly exciting. The red sangria and Bio-Curious selection of wines were very good. Desserts were good too- the flan was a bit too sweet, but we enjoyed the chocolate cake. Service was courteous but perhaps not the most attentive, and we had to follow-up a couple times on dishes that hadn't come out, or for them to clear our table and take our dessert order. Overall, great experience. Maybe try coming not on a busy Friday night for better service, because the food is worth it.

Yelp
What's hospitality? Seriously, ask yourself this whenever you visit a popular restaurant. On a recent Tuesday evening, I dined with a few friends. Despite having a reservation for 8:15 PM, we were seated between 8:30 and 8:40 PM. Initially, we viewed this as a minor inconvenience, thinking it was a typical busy evening. Throughout the evening, Mr. Mathew, the manager, checked in on us, ensuring our comfort and satisfaction. At the end of the night, he surprised us by waiving our entire bill, apologizing for the delay and emphasizing their unwavering commitment to hospitality. Such dedication to guest satisfaction is rare, especially in the competitive dining scene of Boston. I've dined at Barca WB in Rhino (Denver) and DC (14th St), but this experience set a new standard for what true hospitality means. Even bar seating for couples offers a delightful option, showcasing the restaurant's exceptional commitment to making every guest's experience memorable. In an era where customer service often feels like an afterthought, this restaurant's approach stands out. It's a place where you feel genuinely valued and appreciated, making it a must-visit for anyone seeking an extraordinary dining experience.

Yelp
I recently made a dinner reservation with the restaurant this past Saturday. I had called to make a reservation for 9 people a couple days prior to Saturday. The individual who confirmed my reservation over the phone notified me to call an hour in advance of the dinner in case the head count changes. The day of the reservation, I received a text to confirm my reservation. I confirmed. Several hours later, one of my friends couldn't make it so I called the restaurant. To my surprise, no one answered the phone and the restaurant was closed for the entire night. I had the courtesy to notify the restaurant we were going to be without one person from my party. However, they were unable to do the same. I had to scramble and find dinner reservations somewhere else. This was a disappointing and frustrating experience.

Yelp
Recently visited Barcelona Wine Bar in Cambridge after being a regular customer at their Atlanta location. Much like the Atlanta location, good vibes and ambiance, and were seated and served rather quickly considering it was a busy Friday night. Also huge shout out for Barcelona being one of the few places that *still* gives FREE bread (that actually tastes super good and is warm). Ordered a couple of cocktails, pitcher of red Sangria, and a variety of tapas plus order of paella. Sangria is decent, not super strong but can get 4-5 glasses out of the pitcher which is a fair deal. Out of all of the food, the tapas were the standout to me. The seafood paella (Paella Verduras) was generously portioned however the calamari and shrimp were kind of overcooked and it was rather salty, probably would not ordered again. The charcuterie was delicious and really enjoyed whatever jam was served with it and wish we had a little bit more of it! As for the tapas I tried: whipped ricotta, pork belly (served with zucchini relish), and grilled puplo. All were flavorful and tasty, and the octopus was cooked perfectly. All in all I think Barcelona is a decent spot for the date night if you are wanting something classier/ambiance but not wanting to schlep to Boston. However based off the paella I believe that many of the larger plates could likely be overpriced for not super great quality. Despite this, I think they really do shine with the tapas and charcuterie, and doing a few rounds of drinks while trying out various dishes and sharing with someone makes for a fun evening. 3.75ish stars

Yelp
Dined here late on 12/6. The food was fresh and delicious. The servers went above and beyond to ensure a wonderful dining experience The vibe is lovely, the space is a bit tight but manageable. It's not a quiet place but conversation is possible without yelling.

Yelp
We had a 7:15pm reservation for 2 on Friday, we were seated 45 minutes later! This seems to be a common problem as other reviewers have said the same thing. When walking out of the restaurant, I heard a group of people saying that this is not the first time they've had to wait a long time past their reservation to finally sit. There is no waiting area, so everyone crowds around the bar. I would've been annoyed if I were sitting at the bar or the tables as everyone waiting was shoulder to shoulder in this small area. At one point the bartender got on-top of the bar and started pouring sangria shots out of a pitcher into waiting guests mouths. Aside from waiting much too long for our table to be ready, they had a large and diverse menu, I'll certainly be going back to try more. For a party of two the server suggested ~3 small plates per person OR one large plate to share to go along with one small plate per person. What we Ate: - Lemon Hummus (solid) - Patatas Bravas (excellent) - Whipped Ricotta (solid) - Cauliflower (would get again) - Seared Halibut (would skip, nothing special) - Octopus (would skip, too chewy) What we drank: - Laird's Way (excellent) - Bio-Curious & Grenache Wine flights (both were very good) TLDR: Barcelona Wine Bar is worth checking out. The food and drinks were tasty and unique, the wine was good as well. We had to wait ~45 min for our table to be ready when we had a reservation. This seems to be a common occurrence to plan accordingly. The free bread is excellent!

Yelp
Absolutely love this particular Barcelona Wine Bar. The food is always scrumptious and so are the drinks. I've visited many times in the past year and have recommended this place to many of my friends. Highly recommend for affordable, tasty tapas. The menu items make great shareables and the servers tend to be attentative and friendly. I can't deny that the food and service are usually impeccable. The overall vibe of the restauarant is usually upbeat and lively.

Yelp
Barcelona wine bar is super hard to get into, and for good reason. The restaurant is in high demand for their delicious tapas style dishes, their delicious drinks, and their overall great vibes. This is a great place for dates, for large groups, for families. We had so many dishes and all were very good. The Patas bravas are a classic, their bone marrow (a first for me) was really rich, the meatballs, shrimp plate, dates, salmon, and chicken were all very good too. Our server was super great, recommending food for us and walking us through her favorite dishes. Great place!!

Yelp
I visited this restaurant on a Saturday night. The atmosphere was fun and lively. All employees were friendly and attentive. The food was amazing! I started with the drunken goat cheese and a glass of Malbec. I then ordered the sautéed mussels, gambas al ajillo and empanadas. My order arrived very quickly. Each of the tapas was tasty! I will be returning soon to try more menu items.

Yelp
My friend and I came here for Saturday brunch at 11:30am. This spot doesn't get nearly as busy as the South End location, and there were plenty of tables. We ordered the bacon-wrapped dates to share, which came with a blue cheese whip. I also had the mixed salad, which was crisp and refreshing (and very olive-y!). It's too bad we weren't hungrier because the food at Barcelona is always great.

Yelp
Had an enjoyable dinner on a Thursday night. They were flexible with our reservation - we called because we were going to arrive 20min late, and they told us to just come in. I think "reservation" is just closer to a "getting on the top of the seating list" - as other reviews say, we the tables are scheduled with very little time in between, so we did have to wait for a table to be cleaned up for us. Even on a weekday evening, this place was bustling and full of people. We were thankfully seated in a corner so the noise level wasn't too bad. The patio seemed cute. The food and drinks were excellent, which is the reason for this 5-star review. Every item was well-balanced, seasoned just right for my taste, with the taste of the ingredients coming through. The only item I would not recommend was the Paella Salvaje. I loved the idea of a "wine flight" - I got the Acid Trip and enjoyed trying each of them. Items ordered: -Eggplant Caponata: delicious, slightly acidic tomato sauce with warm eggplant. Personally prefer a more cooked eggplant, but the dish worked extremely well. -Seared Scallops: the creamy sauce was not too heavy but rather refreshing, and bit of the pepper was a nice touch -Patatas Bravas: classic done right - tastes almost exactly like the ones I had in Spain -Polenta: quite mild in taste with interesting textural contrast -Paella Salvaje: would not order again - too salty, covering up any other flavor, and a little skimpy on the meats -Basque cheesecake: light, not-too-sweet cheesecake paired with the pear that was bright, delicious, almost floral

Yelp
I've been to both of the other Barcelona Wine Bar locations in the area (South End and Brookline) and I was happy to check this one out! The vibes were just as great here as the other two spots, with a bit more of a Cambridge chill vibe. The lights got dimmer as the evening went on, but the restaurant wasn't as loud as the other locations. The servers were excellent and accommodated nicely for a gluten-free allergy at our table! As always, all the tapas were delicious and the sangria hit the spot! This is always one of my favorite places to come to with a group because there is truly something for everybody!

Yelp
Update--re the service. No change to the food. It's been consistently delicious and I've never not enjoyed a menu item. However, operationally, the restaurant has room for improvement. In the last three months, I've been to the Mass Ave location three times. Each of those three times, I had a reservation on a weeknight around 7pm or 8pm, and each of those 3 times, my table was not ready until 30 minutes to an hour after the time of my reservation. Each of those three times, the manager or hostess was incredibly apologetic and kind and offered my party a free round of drinks for our troubles. And from a stingy college student perspective, I had absolutely no issue with this because if restaurants had an offer where you could wait a little longer and get a discount on your meal I would 100% take that offer every time. However, I understand that that's not the norm and this is indicative of some operational inefficiencies. I think that it should be clear by now that they are underestimating the amount of time each party spends at the restaurant (no thanks to the epic atmosphere) and they need to space out reservations a little more. I don't know how much control the individual restaurant manager has over this since I know it's a chain, but it honestly shouldn't be that hard and would improve the quality of the restaurant experience immensely for customers.

Yelp
So good but also so popular! Reservation recommended, especially for high traffic times. Service can be slow because of how busy they are. Everything came out piping hot which was excellent. Things I recommend highly, although everything is truly delicious: - cocktail: Summer Street Sling - food: Squid Ink Paella - dessert: bread pudding then chocolate cake or flan
google avatar

Yelp
Incredibly popular for a reason. The food was amazing and the wines were great! Just make sure to get a reservation because it seems to always be packed here. Even though I was there for a reservation there was still a wait but that's ok. The only thing is that this place is incredibly loud. You will be kind of yelling for your meal.

Yelp
We had a great experience that puts it over the top. First off: we found a great spot at the bar. Next to the encyclopedias from 1911. Selena is the best bartender ever :) she really took care of us, introducing us to her favorite tapas! The vibe at the bar was lively and the bartenders knew their stuff. One of the other BT's told us about the two ports he was pouring- not just pouring it, but what the differences were, that's a great sign! Selena intro'd us to the Tortilla which sounds simple but could be a whole brunch. The scallops and pulpo (octopus) were both awesome as well. All great with of course the sangrias. The red sangria was great, but the Guns and Roses was spectacular.

Yelp
They have locations in NY and CT. I came for a birthday dinner and there wasn't a fee to bring the cake. The food was solid with some dishes being better than others. Patatas bravas are a must. Large plates can take 40 minutes so I'd order those first. The squid ink fideos was creamy and delicious. I'd recommend the ricotta as well. The naan was ok. The chorizo with sweet and sour figs was too sweet for me. The white sangria was good and easy to drink. Service was nice.

Yelp
Authentic Spanish tapas bar/restaurant. We were craving paella. It came nice n lava hot. So wait a bit , don't burn. The drinks were good, not too strong. The wine flights are great way to taste different wines. Servers are very knowledgeable. We were hungry do we ordered too much food, Batatas bravas great, marinated olives, spicy empanadas. You must have the octopus. The bill was like $100 for 2 not bad. Incl 2drunks, 4 aps, n 1/2 paella. I'll definitely come back next time I'm in Cambridge

Yelp
Always try to come to Barcelona every time we come to Boston. This time tried the new asparagus w/ lemon vinaigrette and egg yolk which was amazing, the gambas, jam on croquetas, and the house made naan w/ olive oil. Wow! Also really enjoyed the Galician G&T w/ green apple, lemon and mint - very refreshing!

Yelp
Food was good, mussels were the star. Had the jamon and manchego croquettes, mussels, mushrooms, patatas bravas, steak paillard and beef empanadas. Of these, the mussels and patatas bravas I would definitely get again - the mussels were tender and cooked in a very tasty sofrito sauce with decent spice and the potatoes were creamy on the inside and a bit crisp on the outside. Would maybe get the croquettes, mushrooms and empanadas again. Would skip the steak next time - it wasn't bad, I liked the vinegary sauce and the crispy potatoes but the steak itself was meh. The bread, wine and sangria was good too. Our server was new and could not help me with wine selection and admitted he was still learning and pulled out his guide for me to review the tasting notes. He was a nice guy, but I was expecting a bit more for a recommendation from him given this is a wine bar. He forgot one of our dishes but we ended up being pretty full so didn't push it. Service was otherwise great, and they staggered the delivery of the tapas nicely. Ambiance - low but decent lighting, the music wasn't too loud and the modern wood / industrial aesthetic with plants and neutral curtains was nice.

Yelp
As a European family on a visit en masse to our student in Cambridge, I was intrigued to see if this could hold a candle to Madrid or Barcelona given the challenge sourcing ingredients in the US.. It did not disappoint. Ambience hectic on a Sunday night full of families and obviously students. Service attentive and pleasantly interactive. We ordered three rounds + a dessert. For me this was proper Tapas rather than the main plate nonsense that is Tapas in London. As to dishes: octopus was superb; calamari, prawns also superstars that made it though the rounds. Patatas Bravas needed more heat in the sauce and a little more roasting for me. Croquetas a little different but still pleasing. Iberico ham genuine import and shaved at the table. Dried Chorizo served on a board, personally prefer that panned to release the oil and Paprika - depends on the Chorizo though. Starting bread was fantastic - obviously house made. Good wine choice and reasonable pricing. Only niggle was physical temperature of Chickpea and spinach dish but I didn't care as I am not a veggie. Excellent restaurant that is clearly thriving given its non central location - go there with a lively crowd and you will not be disappointed.

Yelp
Wow. First of all. The ambiance is nice. The service was excellent! a bit loud but who cares. The food was such a star. I got the: octopus Potatos Mussels Steak with frites Shrimp Empanadas Meatballs Bread pudding The empanadas took the cake. It was so flavorful. The bread was so soft yet crunchy. I was puzzled. The sauce was amazing. Perfect amount of acidity. The other meals were so flavorful! They were all so delicious. I loved every moment of my dinner.

Yelp
Food and service were great. Ambience was very lively on a Saturday night. Seating can feel a little cramped or awkward if you're at one of the tables in the center of the dining room. There's little on street parking available. If you have a resident sticker there might be a spot on the side street. Otherwise plan to ride-share, walk, or take the T.
google avatar

Yelp
What can I say. We came for drinks. Ended up having early dinner. Shared a bunch of tapas plates. All of them were so good. We tried a charcuterie platter but I think can skip that next time. Grilled Octopus was fantastic! Sangria, beets and the paella was to die for. Order paella early as it takes a while to prepare. The restaurant is huge with a ton of light coming in from the floor to ceiling glass walls. Busy place and a little noisy but was doable for conversation.

Yelp
I was very excited upon seeing a new Barcelona location in Cambridge and have been meaning to try this spot for a while! I would definitely come with a reservation if coming on a weekend - the place was packed and we were only to get a 5:15 time slot a few days before so if you're sure you'd like to come, be sure to get a table beforehand to avoid waiting! We were seated pretty quickly upon checking with the host and our server was relatively fast with making sure we got water and settled in, but I would say that the space seemed to cramped to effectively serve us. There was barely enough space to get to our booth due to the tables next to us being way too close and it made our waitress and the folks helping her very squished, too much so to be comfortable when talking to or serving us. We had to ask for bread since we didn't get any to come with our charcuterie and our waitress said there was miscommunication with her coworkers, but it was coming soon. I then proceeded to see a confused server walking around our area with bread for five minutes before eventually giving it to us after pacing back and forth several times - definitely not the most efficient service. The menu was pretty extensive and had a good variety of dishes, similar to their other locations, and that made for a pretty diverse meal. We got half a paella, half the squid ink dish, three of their tapas, and one meat with two cheeses for charcuterie as well as their mocktails. We shared everything and honestly, it was too much for two people - I probably would've skipped on the charcuterie as well as one of the tapas, but everything was really delicious. I would order everything again, just in less quantities if I come again with one other person! The patatas bravas and mushrooms were my favorites for the small dishes while the paella and squid ink were both fantastic, would recommend! Overall, I'd say the food was great - pricy, but yummy. I would come back to have a nice meal in the future probably, but I would hope the service was less messy for the future. To be clear, I think our waitress and the workers were doing their best, but the layout of the restaurant was working against them. It felt too chaotic for my taste and deters me from wanting to come back, honestly.

Yelp
My husband and I came here for our wedding night and they did NOT disappoint! Food was incredible. My favorite dish was the potatoes bravas (and I'm not usually a huge potato fan so that's saying something) and my husbands favorite was the beef tartare. The staff was so friendly and and went far above and beyond to make our night even more special. Shout out to Adeline and Regina. If you save any room for dessert the flan was 10/10 unreal. We couldn't have picked a better spot for the most memorable day of our lives! Upscale casual dining vibes, perfect after our casual elopement :)

Yelp
I stopped by BWB with a couple of friends on a Thursday night hoping for a quick meal and some drinks at the bar - we enjoyed our time so much we stayed for much more wine than initially bargained for! Fair warning, this place was pretty full on a Thursday night at 6:30pm - we got lucky without a reservation finding 3 free seats at the bar which is first come first serve. But based on how the bartenders were running around all night - they were busy! (That's just to say if you don't want to wait/sit at the bar, you really should make a reservation)   We were really just there for the adventure, so we let our bartender select 3 cheeses for a cheese plate (all were so, so tasty - the Manchego and the quince jelly on the side was my personal favorite combination). We also all opted for a different wine flight and I can easily say we each enjoyed our selections. Other stand out tapas that we really enjoyed were the eggplant, boquerones (anchovies - which were actually served very similarly to the eggplant), and the olives. The olives sound like a weird hill to die on as my "favorite dish" but they were just the perfect level of briny and there were other pickled veggies in the mix like carrots and cauliflower to add some pizzaz. All in all, this was a very enjoyable meal and I can't wait to try other tapas the next time I visit!

Yelp
Food was excellent. Service was great. Ambiance was adorable. I am a mom who was moving my daughter into her apartment so that she can attend graduate school at Harvard. It had been a long tiring day and we didn't look anywhere as dressed as the other customers. Not a problem. They got us in. (Wish I could remember the manager/hostess name because she was on top of everything) I look forward to coming back the next time I am in town.

Yelp
We came here at 10pm on a Sunday and were seated immediately at the bar. The ambiance was perfect for a late night munch. My favorite items were the croquettes, the shishito peppers, and the chorizo with sweet and sour figs. Will be back!
google avatar

Kristine Z.

Yelp
Dinner overall was quite nice for sharing and the Cambridge location seems more lively and less formal than the south end location. I recommend the mussels which come in a delicious sofrito for dipping as well as the patatas bravas, perfectly crisp and loved by everyone. The sweet and sour figs and chorizo was quite good but I'm not sure about the combination. The crab cakes weren't anything special and the vegetable paella could have used more seasonings (the cauliflower was nonexistent and the aioli wasn't too flavorful).

Yelp
Love this place along with sister restaurant on Beacon Street in Brookline. This one is in Cambridge so easier. Great food and atmosphere. Almost everything is good.

Yelp
I've been going to Barcelona for a few years now and I was so happy to visit their new location in Cambridge. They did a great job with this space. The lighting is cool, it's a welcoming environment, and the decor is amazing. As of right now this location is only taking walk ins, but I'm not sure how long that will last. I got in after 7pm on a Sunday and did not have trouble getting a table. Of course I got wine and tapas and everything was tasty! My friend and I split: the jamon and manchego croquetas, bacon wrapped dates, marinated house olives, corn, patatas bravas, blistered shisistos and the spinach and chickpea cazuela. Can't wait to come back to this location!!

Yelp
One of the first places I ate since moving to Boston. The food here is so good and very delicious desserts and drinks. The staff were also very friendly and attentive. It is very busy here at night so keep in mind that the large crowd can be overwhelming at times and hard to enjoy a relaxing dinner and drinks, but if you're in for a fun and exciting time, then this classy and chic place is for you.

Yelp
Overall: just as good as the Brookline one with solid service. Actually came here twice since they opened since it's a bit closer Food: as always I loved the bacon wrapped dates in their cheese. Definitely a smart combo. And as always the octopus leg (Pulpo) is a MUST order because of how tender they cook the octopus. Tried the beef empanada and was pleasantly surprised by the delicious deep almost chorizo like flavor of the ground beef. The chorizo and figs was a mixed bag personally most because I'm not a fan of figs but my friend loved the tenderness and flavor of the chorizo cooked in the figs. I prefer the chorizo Paella Verduras absolutely the cherry on top. I love gourds and their selection of squash was cooked soft but had a bit of a nice firm texture for the skin. The rice was seasoned well as always and came with an interestingly nice green sauce. The basque cheesecake for dessert was nothing too stand out but it was for a friends birthday so they wrote a nice message in chocolate on the board! Ambience/Decor/Service: similar low light moody ambience as the one in Brookline. A bit crowded as they maximize space, but it has a nice lively dinner feel. The decor feels very modern with good art pieces, unique plating, and wooden furniture. The service was really nice to accommodate a special message for the birthday. Fast service but not intrusive on conversation.

Yelp
Tasty tapas, quite a few in generously sized portions. They said to order 2-3 tapas per person. I'm glad 4 of us shared 8, deciding we could order more later if desired. I was happily full and the total after tip came out to $28, less than expected. We also share a pitcher of red sangria, which was delightful and unique with the elderflower flavor. Most memorable tapas: - chorizo w/ sweet & sour figs. Very flavorful. IMO the sweet and sour sauce on the figs could have been toned down a bit, but still enjoyable. - bacon wrapped dates: my go-to tapas order did not disappoint - potato tortilla: not as expected. It was a wedge of many layers of potato. Simple but delicious and onion-y - marinated beets with whipped ricotta

Yelp
My husband and I go here every time we visit our daughter at college. We bring her with us and she loves it. We get tapas! food is absolutely delicious! The service is impeccable, the atmosphere is exiting, upbeat, and energetic. It's a very nice place to be. The prices are great! Just love it! I just want to add to my review that I've been to Barcelona Wine Bar 3 times now. We always had reservations. Only once did we have to wait to be seated and it was a very busy night. But what made me not mind, even though I had a reservation, was that, that evening, some servers walked around with some light snacks (cheese,jam...) for people who were waiting to be seated. I thought that was thoughtful-a nice touch.

Yelp
Food failure in a decent wine bar. If you want great food, go to the 5-star Brookline Barcelona. Unfortunately, the kitchen in Cambridge has a lot of room for improvement. The beet salad was soaked in tasteless white vinegar. We actually sent it back. The carrots and meatballs were eatable but not enjoyable tapas. The Bronzino was good. The best dish was the free beef tapenades. The bar service was great. Great wines from Navarro. The host desk predicted a 45 minute wait. They use a text notification system. We got the initial notice, but never got a table notice. After about an hour I checked and they said that we would be seated shortly. It did not happen. We stayed at the bar after the people next to us left. I may go back for a glass of wine, but not with company. The noise level was so high that a conversation was very difficult. The next morning, my ears were still ringing.

Yelp
I came here on my birthday and loved every second of it. The food is tapas style and I don't think there is a single bad thing on the menu. Tapas can definitely add up in terms of price if you can't make up your mind. Our service was great and the ambiance inside is perfect for a date night. Would highly recommend.

Yelp
The prices and food here are excellent. My husband and I have been several times, both with each other and with friends. We will keep coming back for sure. Wine recommendations also appear to be pretty solid, although we are admittedly not wine experts.

Yelp
I have never felt compelled to write a review of a restaurant before but I have had dinner twice here with my family and it was fantastic. The food and wine were great! I have severe dietary restrictions and they handled it wonderfully. The hostess marked up a menu of what was save for me to order. Everyone on on staff from the manager to the person bussing tables was so kind, helpful and friendly. I would highly recommend.

Yelp
I have been to multiple Barcelona locations and can say the food and service has always been tremendous. Just wanted to warn others that this location has absolutely zero parking. If you cannot walk or Uber there, don't waste your time. We made a special trip from NH for a birthday dinner. We had a reservation for 5:45 on a Saturday and after driving in circles around the restaurant for 20+ minutes we gave up and left. Other than the street parking right in front of the restaurant, all parking is permit only. Super frustrating and disappointing.

Yelp
We were a little early for our dinner reservation which was in the area so decided to stop in at the Barcelona wine bar for a pre-dinner libation. We sat at the bar. The decor is dark wood, and warm, and inviting. This place is nice in that it's possible to get a number of curated wines at $4 to $5 per 3 oz pour. I had a primitivo, and then a manhattan which I thought was pretty expensive (3 oz for $17.50). Maybe this is city prices. We didn't try any food, I'd definitely stop back to sample some of the small plates.

Yelp
WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE down here at Barcelona Cambridge. that wine really did me in for one. The food literally made me the most HAPPY I've ever been in a restaurant. My favorite dish was the chicken thigh - I had to order two. The croquetas literally exploded so much flavor in my mouth that I couldn't resist but to smile. If you ever have the chance to experience this restaurant you have to do it. And our waiter also slayed and made sure we had the wine pitcher stocked

Yelp
Lovely tapas evening! We had olives, shrimp, paired w a delicious Sangria. The cheese selection perfect , the burrata creamy, everything tasted wonderful. The wait staff incredibly helpful, fun and generous. No wonder they ate so successful. I highly recommend reservations.

Yelp
Great place to go with friends but very popular so there may be a wait depending on when you go. We had an 8:30 reservation and ended up getting seated an hour later, not the best. However, our servers were wonderful and drinks/food came out quickly which really made up for it. We ordered a pitcher of white wine sangria (delicious), charcuterie, tapas (I highly recommend the chorizo fig and tuna crudo tapas!), and a seafood paella (the paella takes time to cook so make sure to order it when you get seated).
