Great date spot! The non-alcoholic drinks were not very good. Personally not a huge fan. Other than that, the dinner was fantastic! The shrimp appetizer was rich in flavor, highly recommend.

Very delicious food. We tried their brunch. They have many varieties so it is really good to come as a group and share the food together.😊 Fish is really good and fresh. Outside is crispy and inside is pretty juicy

My second time coming to Barcelona was really amazing. It’s clear that the staff really cared about the customer experience. Romir, the GM, treated us very well and made sure we had a great time. The staff were really nice and the food was so delicious. I highly recommend the bacon wrapped dates and patatas bravas - they are so delicious! Drinks are also great and getting a pitcher is a great deal. Love this place and will be coming back

Google
The restaurant was fine! To be honest I was not super impressed with some of the items, but perhaps I didnt choose well. The albóndigas in particular seemed a lot less flavorful than I was expecting. On the other hand, I would not skip the bacon wrapped dates!!! They were sweet and salty, rich and chewy. Wow! Super filling but absolutely fantastic. Overall I'd say be careful not to order too much because while most items were delicious, a lot of them were very rich and filling. Honestly it wouldn't take too many cheeses or tapas to make a satisfying meal.

Delicious food and lovely vibes, even on a weekday. My husband and I especially loved the croquettas and roasted lamb.

Nice vibes. The staff were welcoming and friendly. Wanted to try the paella but unfortunately did not this time. Got a bunch of differnt tapas to try. Everything was great. Great spot for date night or to hang out with friends and family. Love that everything is small so you're able to try a variety of different things.

Tara was an AMAZING server!!!! Right from the start, she asked us if we were comfortable, and insisted we sit at a table where we were most comfortable (the issue was that the person behind my sister in law kept moving his seat back and bumping into her). She was friendly, knowledgeable, and even gave us clean plates and silverware between courses, which was such a nice touch! We wanted to know the name of the olive oil and she sent us home with a little to go cup of some after giving us the name. Truly exceptional service. The food was incredible, the atmosphere was perfect, classy, and relaxing. A must-go! Thank you, Tara, for your wonderful service and great attitude this evening! We left with smiles all around, content, and looking forward to coming back! Highly recommend.

Google
One of my favorite restaurants for dinner dates. Amazing ambience and great service. Tapas are amazing, mains and cocktails are great. I love the red sangria, it tastes similar what I had in Spain!

Yelp
Excellent selection of small plates to choose from. There is something for every taste. Service was also good though my server was rarely available after my initial food selection. I had to hunt her to place additional orders. Frustrating to say the least. But she was friendly and informative. The same can be said for the other staff working with her. The restaurant was on the quiet side which was perfect for my taste. I will certainly will recommend this restaurant.

Yelp
My friend and I recently came to Barcelona for dinner and drinks. This was my second time dining here and it was a 5/5 experience! We attended the Night Market and were pleased to be seated right away after being turned away by several other places. Our server was incredibly friendly, helpful, and accommodating. She provided my friend with a GF menu and checked in with us frequently. We ordered a pitcher of their red sangria and three tapas-- potatoes, carrots, and steak. Everything was absolutely delicious and I was pleasantly surprised that our bill was reasonable. I highly recommend Barcelona and will be returning in the future!

Yelp
The entire experience was delightful! We chose Barcelona to celebrate our wedding anniversary and we are thrilled we did! Food was delicious and the service was impeccable. Thank you! We will be back!

Yelp
Barcelona is a tapas lover's dream--it's almost impossible to choose what to share because everything looks so good! We opted for a mix-and-match charcuterie with chorizo and two cheeses, paired with warm, crusty bread that's perfectly soft inside. While the cocktails are tempting, the wine steals the show here. And whatever you do, don't skip dessert! The warm olive oil cake, with its delicate sweetness and touch of sea salt, is pure perfection--especially with a pour of ruby port.

Yelp
Date of visit: 7/22/2024 Our dinner in New Haven after driving for 3 hrs from Princeton. Decided on this restaurant because we miss Spain tapas. Ordered: - Patatas Bravas: order it! - Gambas Al Ajillo: order it! We had 2 lol - Bocadillos de Tuna: skip it! Bread was dry and filling was meh - Jamon & Manchego Croquetas: order it! - chorizo w/ sweet & sour figs: I guess skip it. figs were too sweet. Chorizo was good. - champiñones: order it! Had sour taste so if you're not into anything sour, proceed to caution. I like it! - paella mariscos (full): it's truly not bad. Few undercooked rice was what ruined it Service was great and attentive. We got great table by the window.

Yelp
I've come to appreciate Barcelona more and more over time. Not every single dish is a hit, but once you find your favorites, it's easy to have a consistently great meal by ordering 60% trusted favorites, and 40% experimenting with something new. Some of our tried and true items: - Meat & Cheese: Chorizo Picante, San Simon & Idiazábal Cheese, Aperitivo Board - Tapas: Champiñones, Crispy Artichokes, Sautéed Kale, Pulpo Gallego, Steak Paillard, Albondigas - Drinks:Red Sangria, HH (M-F 4-6) - Brunch: Torrijas & Fideos

Yelp
Great experience overall My favorite tapas: Mushroom Meatball Batata brava Things I wished were done differently: The rum sangria was not refreshing and tasted like a sport drink Pulpo was a little chewy

Yelp
We came here for our anniversary dinner and had a fantastic meal. All of the food was so fresh, flavorful, and promptly made. The restaurant had a really nice vibe that was upscale, comfortable, yet romantic at the same time. The floor plan is very open yet intimate, if that makes sense. The decor is very modern with a lot of wood trim. We were greeted immediately by our server and received hot bread, olive oil, water, and wine almost instantly, putting our order in very shortly after. All of the food came out relatively fast. Our wines (Tempranillo and Albariño) were so smooth and tasty. We tried tortilla which was pillowy and well seasoned with a perfect blend of potato, onion, and egg. The jamón Serrano was amazing and brought us back to Spain. The boquerones were so good but we didn't quite understand serving on tomato- usually this is served with something crunchy like a tosta or even a potato chip. Mussels were super fresh and bursting with flavor. The garbanzos were decadent, rich and very filling for a small serving. We tried the leeks and they had a nice flavor, but a little al dente. The jamon y melon was okay, not bad but not the star either. For dessert we tried the lemon sorbet and the olive oil cake. The olive oil cake is like a slice of heaven, served piping hot and taste just freshly made. The cake has a perfect blend of salt and olive oil and a slight touch of sweetness. The lemon sorbet actually was a perfect complement as it was cold, somewhat crunchy, and bright and citrusy which unintentionally paired with the cake. We were so happy that our server and the kitchen were able to accommodate us with a dairy free request. Overall we had great service except for a brief time when we could not locate our server when we needed assistance. The manager, Kenny, made the night by checking on us and helping verify in the kitchen that certain dishes didn't have dairy. Kenny chatted with us and offered us complimentary cava for our anniversary which made us feel like VIPs, even though we had not been to this particular location yet. Overall Barcelona is a really special restaurant and one that offers guests a chance to feel like they matter, and where top notch service and food quality go hand in hand. This is as close to authentic Spanish food as you can get without actually being in Spain. We will gladly come back to this location anytime.

Yelp
What a fun & classy scene to spend a chilly night! I was here for work, and my friend introduced me to one of his favorite locations in New Haven. I can't believe I've never had Spanish cuisine until that night! Despite being known for their tapas, I ordered a paella dish because I've never had paella before. Absolute yum! The rice base was soft, yet flavorful. There was plenty of seafood throughout too! The half dish is plenty for 1 person and costs $28 - pretty reasonable for a seafood heavy dish! The place was quite busy for a Wed night, but service was quick and attentive during our dining experience there. Our server made the experience all the more memorable given my very short visit to New Haven!

Yelp
Tied for first place on our own curated "Taste of New Haven" unexpected culinary tour, is Barcelona Wine Bar. Barcelona New Haven, as well as all the other fulfilling restaurants we visited, were just a mere walking distance from our accommodations. On this NH, CT staycation, we went in not fully knowing what to expect and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Knowing we were only coming in for Tapas we decided on our usual bar seating. The atmosphere and aesthetics were modern and glowingly warm, yet chill all at once. Having the open kitchen concept directly in our sights, gave us a glimpse of the brigade prepping tickets on the occasional burst of flames. An added plus to the bustling, chill atmosphere. Chatting it up a bit with the friendly bartenders, we finally decided on the Patatas Bravas, plus the Charcuterie 3. The puffy cubes of crispy Patatas were smothered with a rich aioli providing some satisfying goodness. The Charcuterie and Bravas were a hit. Barcelona Wine Bar New Haven being one of a group of several throughout the U.S. did not disappoint. We can easily say this location confidently earned its first place tie on our "Taste of New Haven".

Yelp
My favorite part of this meal was the free bread. It did not mean I dislike this place - the bread was just elite. The tapas we shared were good, but not overwhelming or mind blowing. Good texture of cheese in its sauces, good fry on the potato and croquettes, but really nothing crazy. Tapas done right and sauces made enjoyable, the flavors work together, but individually and as a whole, neither of them sing. I would overall give this place an 8.5/10. The price point is fantastic. You cannot go wrong here with tapas and friends. The only disappointing factor was that we had a reservation at 6:30 and were not seated until 7:15. This is a one time thing due to the Harvard Yale game rush. Otherwise, we are happy and forgot about this trivial incident.

Yelp
1/1 Ambience; 2/2 Food; 1/1 Service; 1/1 Value My friend and I spontaneously stepped into Barcelona during our day trip to New Haven from NYC. Even on a weekend evening, the hostess was able to accommodate us right away and the entire staff was very friendly, helpful, and attentive. The restaurant has a warm and modern atmosphere that is perfect for dates or dinners with family. We got the patatas bravas, queso a la plancha, gambas al ajillo, steak paillard, and paella mariscos. They also give crusty bread and olive oil to start with, the latter having a very high quality taste. We also had some drinks that were refreshing and well balanced. My favorite was the patatas bravas, which were crispy and so well seasoned accompanied by the tomato-based sauce and the creamy garlic aioli-- absolutely phenomenal dish! The paella mariscos was also incredible with the edges having a beautiful caramelized quality and every bite being so flavorful! The shrimp and steak were both perfectly cooked and delectable, and the only dish we didn't like was the overly sweet queso. For the quality of the food and the rather portion sizes, Barcelona is a great value for a lovely evening dining experience! If I lived closer to, I would certainly frequent more often and I would highly recommend if you are in the area!

Yelp
Drinks: 4.5/5 Food: 4.8/5 Services: 5/5 Atmosphere: 5//5 Pricing: higher end Overall: 4.8/5 What we ordered: - tapas: potatoes, duck breast, mussels, venison - cheesecake - sangria 10/10 would recommend. A perfect date night spot. The foods are amazing. Our favorite was the duck breast tapas. I have never had duck prepared this way. It is super flavorful and tender and blends so well with the sauce. Vanessa was out waitresses and she was super helpful. She recommended the potatoes to us, which I would say is a perfect choice. The tapas are small dishes so I recommend order at least 3 dishes for a party of 2. Will definitely come back and try other dishes!

Yelp
This restaurant has always been one of my favorite spots to go in downtown New Haven! The vibe is so chill, the service is good, tapas are even better, and the wine is excellent! You feel like you are in another world when you enter Barcelona. The lighting is dim and relaxing. It is a very classy joint.

Yelp
Came here while visiting New Haven from New York City, and heard that this place was one of the places to go. I actually really enjoyed my meal here, and would recommend a few of their dishes more than the others. The queso Blanco was actually quite nice and very savory with some depth. The sweetness of the berries has wonderfully with the salty cheese. The carrots were also deliciously, tender and warm. The empanadas were also flaky and soft. I would skip the olives because they were kind of ordinary, unless you love olives. They do give you a quite a bit though. It's a large space and the service was great. It's only lit inside, but also very lively. They have a large bar in the middle of the restaurant for you to sit out as well. Overall, if you're in the area would recommend.

Brenna B.

Yelp
Penelope was an absolute delight and very knowledgeable about the menu. she provided us with a lovely food and wine recommendations. we will absolutely be returning for the mussels, pork belly, and Penelope's wonderful service.

Yelp
Taste was okay, but vibes and service were solid. Ingredients tasted fresh and presentation was nice. Not cheap though, so be prepared for that. Still, good spot to hang out and enjoy the ambiance.

Yelp
Longest lunch I've ever had! Took almost 3 hours for lunch. We ordered a salad, paella, meatballs, and drinks. Nothing was great but not bad either. Just took way too long for the quality and what was ordered.

Jeff P.

Yelp
I would say 4 stars. We went with a big group on graduation weekend, so some things are semi understandable. Service was good, but it was apparent the kitchen was way behind. Unfortunately one half of the table got served first, then the other half which made a very uncomfortable dining experience. Yes, I understand tapas can be shared but people had particular items they would or would not eat. Once the food arrived it was hot and delish. So yes, I would recommend this place for sure. It's probably better when it's not packed. Dinner was over 2 hours. Overall a good experience.

Yelp
Awesome tapas at a popular spot in the heart of New Haven. We went for Sunday brunch and were impressed that they have a new brunch menu each week. The menu items remain familiar with some changes. We started with a charcuterie board which was so flavorful. Last time we went, we ordered the red pepper hummus; this time it was regular hummus. They use a signature olive oil that's very pure so the flavor came through nicely in the hummus. The eggplant tapas was mildly sweet and well prepared with peppers and onions. Other tapas included spinach and chickpeas, empanadas and eggs Benedict. We finished the meal with olive oil cake, which they prepare so well. The flavor is unique. The servers are friendly at Barcelona, and a manager always comes over to check on the table and make sure everyone's satisfied. The ambiance is rustic with a lot of wood and dim lights. The price for brunch was reasonable with most tapas plates costing $7 or $8. This is the kind of restaurant I want to keep returning to again and again.

Yelp
On a return visit to New Haven after many years, we were surprised to find a Spanish restaurant with a legitimate tapas menu. The manager greeted us and gave us a rundown of the most popular dishes as well as his personal favorites - adding that the in season spring vegetables were fantastic. We settled on the patatas bravas, a benchmark for any tapas place; the grilled artichoke hearts with Meyer lemon; the kale with anchovy breadcrumbs; and the boccadillos (pork sliders) - a personal favorite of the manager. All were excellent: the patatas bravas were crispy, savory with just a bit of heat; the grilled artichokes were meaty (?) with a lovely sauce; the sautéed lake was perfectly tender without becoming mushy; the sliders were pork-o-licious! I would order all the these dishes again.

Yelp
We made a reservation at 5 PM on a Friday night for a party of 6 the day before, changed it to a party of 4 the day of, then couldn't make it in time and showed up 22 minutes late. Barcelona was not only accommodating but took care of us with all the special requests. Excuse: parking was not the easiest but we got lucky the last moment and found street parking on Temple street. Our server Tara was super nice and gave us a run down of how many tapas per person usually helps us feel satiated. She was spot on with 2 to 4 dishes. We had some food intolerances and allergies in the group. Not only did Tara advise us, the chef also did a double check so it made us feel super safe and comfortable dining there. If a dish didn't work for one of us, we were never pressured to get more dishes or skip the dish altogether. I don't consume dairy (Crispy Hen of the Woods, Ibérico Bocadillo, and the sliders), but my favorite was the elk shoulder lollipops (Elk Short Rib) that slid off the bone with delightful pistachios sprinkled. I also enjoyed the eggplant, the empanadas, the shishito peppers, and everything that we got to try that was dairy free. We wanted to celebrate a birthday so brought our own cake. Barcelona had the perfect ambiance, brought us real plates (as opposed to disposable ones), prepared the cake with the matcha powder the cake came with, put on candles, lit them, then Tara came and sang happy birthday with us. It was so special and we felt so taken care of. I definitely want to return and try out the organic wine pairings and the dishes we missed this time around.

Yelp
Oh my goodness the ambiance was so cool and inviting, and the service was amazing. We asked for suggestions and they provided some great choices. If you enjoy tapas, check this place out!!
google avatar

Amanda Z.

Yelp
So delicious and affordable! Shared the patatas bravas, chorizo with fig, and drunken goat cheese with a friend and they were all so delicious! We were full from just these 3 dishes. The chorizo with fig was so savory and unique, the best part is dipping the complimentary bread in the sauce leftover.
google avatar

Yelp
The food was delicious and hot. Perfectly balance of Spanish culture. Our service was very knowledgeable about all. The restaurant ambience of music and works with the theme
google avatar

Peter H.

Yelp
Chic tapas place. Lively space, so lively I was pleasantly surprised we were seated immediately, so lively we had a tough time hearing each other. The star dishes (recommended by friends) were great choices and we'd recommend them in turn: - Patatas bravas, potato chunks with sauces that made them go down nicely. - Chorizo and figs, exactly what it sounds like. Rich flavor, and we liked dipping potatoes in the dark sweet glaze. The swiss chard was good. The mahi mahi was not that good. They have a good sangria deal and a solid wine.
google avatar

Michael S.

Yelp
Really nice ambiance, service was fantastic. Tipped over 20%. We're vegetarian and he went to the kitchen and marked off every veg option, which is above and beyond. The food was a bit of a mixed bag, but a few were great. The roasted corn is amazing, the potato tortilla was great, the artichoke was good, the watermelon was decent, the mushroom dish was bad unless you love a huge bowl of mushrooms that just taste like simply seasoned mushrooms. All-in-all a good experience to try a bunch of small Spanish dishes. It's just not often the best example of any one thing.

Yelp
I came to Barcelona for Valentine's Day Dinner with my husband. Being that it was Valentine's Day evening, it was very packed. They had more tables than usual, so it was very tight and people standing in line to be seated. Staff was running around and managers were helping them. Both my husband and I were both very happy with our dinner. We had the white sangria and it was delicious. Unfortunately food was coming out at random times. The main course came out before tapas. My husband ordered the scallop tapas which were very delicious but expensive. We were told that the fish was served whole as that's what my husband likes but when it came, it was filleted. They quickly took it back and Replaced it. he thoroughly enjoyed the fish when it came back. My favorite is the Papas Fritas and totally forgot to take a picture of it. I did order the mushrooms which I did not eat because I dislike them. They were very garlicky . The vegetable paella was very good. I ordered the half portion and it was gigantic. Both my husband and I ate it and it was very delicious and flavorful. I typically do not get vegetable paella because I've had it other restaurants and it has no flavor, but I was pleasantly surprised. I definitely would go back for dinner again. The staff really did a great job as they were so busy.

Yelp
Our first time visiting Barcelona New Haven. It was great for tapas and sparkling wine. We went a Saturday around 8 and did not have reservations although it was packed we were seated within minutes. Staff were friendly and attentive. Definitely will be going back to try the bigger plates. My favorite tapas we tried were the albóndigas.
google avatar

Lea F.

Yelp
Came in here for a drink and sat at the bar. It was around 10pm so it wasn't busy. The door is almost hidden which i thought was cool. Inside had romantic lighting. The Alebrijes cocktail was so enjoyable. I'll come back for tapas and a wine flight!
google avatar

Alice M.

Yelp
This is also long overdue but I love Barcelona! You can usually get a reservation the same day which is a huge plus. The restaurant itself is on the darker side with dim lighting and a nondescript doorway. The menu standouts for me are the gin and tonics, the charcuterie board (comes with patatas bravas), the champiñones (lemon garlic mushrooms), and the entree chicken dish. The mushrooms are generally VERY good, my husband and I sometimes order 2 plates of them so we don't have to fight over 1. The paella here is also solid, but just isn't the star of the show like the other tapas! Try something new, I'm sure you'll be pleasantly surprised!

Tim D.

Yelp
Best tapas ever. Better than in London. Lots of vegetables choices. Great pork belly. Highly recommend!

Yelp
Kenny's the manager. Here on a Thursday night. Kitchens almost closed. Have had this crazy tapas dish with toast and chorizo. It's not currently on the menu, but Kenny's figures it's out it's Chorizo pintxo. Fires up the grill and makes it for me. Makes my night. And then, whoever hasn't had the olive oil cake is missing out in life. I'm not missing out in life. I ask if it's okay to order it, and I'm obliged. This is really a good place to have a nice night! Shoutout to Kenny!

Yelp
Oh man, Barcelona! Wonder of Catalan. Or in this case, New Haven. We have been to Barcelona restaurants in Fairfield, Stamford, Washington DC and have to say that the New Haven outpost is the best. The atmosphere is perfect whether for a cozy date night or an evening out with friends. As it's a wine bar, the selection of wines is incredibly deep with a focus on Spanish varieties. Ample choices abound both by the glass and bottle. Dig into the menu and check them out. And of course, the star of the show is the tapas. So many wonderful dishes to recommend. Our personal favorites are the potatoes bravas, champinones, charred carrots, brussel sprouts, grilled chicken thighs and steak paillard. Writing this review makes me want to go RIGHT NOW. Do yourself a favor and check it out!

Yelp
There's nothing to say that hasn't already been said. Hands down...best fcukin tapas and (true) wine bar! Amazing servers, bartenders, cooks, everyone!!! Much like their food and wine list, Barcelona doesn't skimp on quality of employees. I don't think that said enough about this place. I'd give it ten stars if possible.

Yelp
A large restaurant occupying two storefronts on Temple St. in New Haven. The ambience is rustic featuring tones of copper and dark brown with pops of gold. The entrance is a glassed in foyer with a large wood slat door that is elevated from the dining room, affording a clear view. Seating is a combination of high tops and low tables arranged along the cushioned bench seating. The drinks varied in strength and ingredients depending on the bartender serving. The specialty drinks were all excellent. The menu is dominated by tapas. Our table of four started with an assortment of seven tapas. Among those, the mahi mahi, potatoes bravas, and meatballs were our favorites. We had a second round of bravas and tried the sliders. Everything was excellent but the sauce on the meatballs and mahi mahi were standouts. The dishes were served as they were prepared, making for a fun staggered tasting. We also had dessert, opting to try the cheesecake and flan. Both were among the best I've tasted. Our table did not like the sauce that came with the cheesecake. The restaurant was extremely busy due to other events in the city and the staff handled it professionally and courteously. This restaurant is perfect to begin a fun night out with friends.

Yelp
This was my third time coming here and it has become one of my favorite restaurants in New Haven! I love how their menu changes occasionally as well because i love trying new items they have! Some of my favorite dishes are the bacon wrapped dates, gambas, shishito peppers and olive oil cake. They also have a great selection of cheeses that all tastes delicious. The reason why I'm giving this 4 stars instead of 5 is because i wish the food came out a bit hotter. My friends enjoy the drinks they serve also. All the servers I've interacted with have been really nice and helpful. I always have a great experience and can't wait to be back soon!

Spencer R.

Yelp
Food is good, service very kind and attentive. The Ambiance is a little dark for my taste, pretty hard to read the menus

Yelp
This is my third time at the New Haven Barcelona for dinner. We made a reservation (recommended especially for weekends) and were seated right away. The ambience is very warm and lively when walking in. I love it when restaurants use real candles. The restaurant can make any drink that's not on the menu! I had the summer street sling and my partner had a Moscow mule. Both were refreshing. If it's your first time, try the wine flights. The red sangria is also great! Next time I'd like to try the white one. I recommend starting the meal with charcuterie & cheese. The cheese is good quality and you can't go wrong with whatever you choose. For larger parties, try the apertivo board. Tapas are the main attraction. I shared three with my partner: eggplant caponata, Moroccan mussels, and summer peach montadito. My favorite were the mussels--they were fresh and extremely flavorful. We also shared a paella salvaje (comes in different sizes!). We finished everything cleanly except for the paella, which we took home. Highly recommend Barcelona for a nice evening out with a date or a group of friends!

Yelp
This is probably the restaurant I missed the most after leaving new haven. When I was in new haven, I would several times every month and it never disappointed me. Even though I have my own favorite - hanger steak, grilled octopus, eggplant- I also tried almost all other tapas over years of visits to this restaurant, there is nothing I would complain expect the long waiting line mainly due to its crazy popularity:) It went a bit pricey but it definitely worthy for me.

Yelp
Tried out Barcelona's after a Yale graduation event. This place was poppin' with people and music. I forgot if we had reservations for our party of 7 and had no problem getting quickly seated . After sitting and sipping Sangria for a while we decided to move to the other adjacent dining rooms for a quiter more intimate affair. The music in the main entrance dining area was a tad too loud and we even asked for it to be turned down a notch or two but it was still loud so we moved . The adjacent dining room was great . We could a conversation without yelling . We ordered two pitchers of sangria : red and white . I loved both of them. I'd definitelyt come back here again.

Brittany M.

Yelp
The food was a 5/5 stars but the service was poor throughout the evening. We were not greeted for a good long time. A manager finally took our drink order and a server took over. Minimal check ins. Gave us the wrong dessert. We told the food runner who apparently told no one and the server came back and dropped the check. Our first visit was much better service wise so not sure if this was a bad night. I'd still recommend Barcelona for the food.

Dawn B.

Yelp
When I first came to New Haven, this was the first place I tried - I had no idea it was part of a chain. Every tapas was reasonably priced (compared to NYC tapas), the paella was absolutely fantastic, the croquetas (delish), chorizos and figs that are fantastic - highly recommend for a fantastic night out. They also have great wine options.

Yelp
Imagine having a lovely evening with friends at an amazing location getting ready to end your evening with dessert and coffee, when, lo and behold, a bouncer comes over to your table and kicks you out at 9:30 on a Friday because, unbeknownst to us when we were first seated, there was a private party for privileged Grace Hopper College (Yale) students. As senior citizens, I guess we did not meet the demographic requirements necessary to buy a few minutes to finish our desserts and make a final toast to the evening. So low rent, Barcelona - hundreds of dollars for our party of four down the drain. Well, never again, I say. And so should you. A total disgrace for Barcelona and Grace Hopper students as rabid ageists. Disgusting

Yelp
Enjoyed Barcelona for my friends bridal shower. Staff was incredible and food was so tasty and fresh! Look forward to going back

Barcelona is my favorite place to go with family or friends! It's a super fun atmosphere with equally fun staff. We always make sure to get a pitcher of sangria (both red and white are great!) for the table. In terms of food, there are great options for vegetarians and pescatarians. You MUST get the patatas bravas (the aoili is out of this world), spinach & chickpea, shishito peppers, and roasted sweet potatoes. I've also tried the eggplant caponata, potato tortilla, hummus, cauliflower, truffled bikini, scallops, and all paellas - they are all good options. The tapas I do not prefer are gambas al ajillo, boquerones, albondigas, jambon corquetas, and beef empanadas - they're not bad, but definitely not worth the cost. If you do eat meat, the sweet & sour figs and bacon-wrapped dates are out of this world!! Oh and always ask for extra bread!

Yelp
I visited Barcelona last night for my birthday dinner. We did not make a reservation, but the hostess was nice enough to move things around to accommodate my party. The food was great. My favorite is always the dessert tho, the olive oil cake is out of this world. Taivarr was our server and he was wonderful. He was super down to earth and made the dining experience that much better. He was transparent about the new ordering device they were working with and explained that things are a bit slower as he becomes acquainted with the new technology. If you're looking for great food, atmosphere, and staff who really care about your experience you'll definitely want to check out Barcelona.

Yelp
Great go to spot for happy hour. Can get tons of tasty tapas. I like the potatoes and hummus. Though dinner is likely not worth the price outside of the happy hour window

Yelp
My fiancé and I drove down from Torrington CT just to visit this place even though West Hartford is closer. 8 years ago Barcelona New Haven was the 1st date I bought her on. We have been to other Barcelona locations since but never returned to New Haven until this past Saturday and it was so worth it. The staff from the moment we walked in made us feel welcome and when I told the hostess our story she was genuinely excited. She got us the same spot as 8 years ago and then our server came over to greet us and also shared the same excitement. We had a blast to say the least! The drinks, the food, the entire operation was flawless. We will be back a minimum of twice a month from now on.!!!!!! Thank you to the entire staff.
