I recently visited Barcelona Wine Bar in Norwalk, and overall, it was a pleasant experience. The atmosphere is warm and stylish, with a décor that strikes a nice balance between cozy and modern — a great setting for a casual evening out. The staff was friendly and attentive, making us feel welcome from the moment we walked in. Service was smooth and professional, which always adds to the experience. As someone familiar with traditional Spanish cuisine, I’d say the food doesn’t quite reflect what you’d find in Spain — the flavors and dishes are inspired by Spanish cooking, but adapted to local tastes. That said, I understand that for most of the clientele, the food does deliver a satisfying and “authentically Spanish” experience. If you’re looking for a lively spot with a good wine selection, enjoyable small plates, and a relaxed vibe, Barcelona Wine Bar is definitely worth a visit. Recommended.

Today I took my future wife on a date to Barcelona in Norwalk. I was so impressed with the quality of the food, and the hospitality of the staff. Jocelyn, the manager, came over and made sure all our needs were met. The wine kept pouring, with the 50% off wine special. I highly recommend this as anyone’s first date spot. If I had to recommend any dish in particular, it has to be the chicken pimientos. It was cooked perfectly, with a crispy skins and a juicy interior. Chefs kiss - perfection. We’ll be coming back for our second and third date!

Really great experience with English (bartender), and Yocelin (manager) last week! The food quality was incredible and I felt welcomed and taken care of from the moment I entered Waypointe. While it was all delicious, the stars of the show were the veal stew - flavor packed in every bite - and the queso a la plancha - crispy on the outside, melted on the inside. Will definitely be back!

I have enjoyed all the Barcelona locations in CT over the past 20 years, but the Norwalk location really stands out. Chef Christian Ortiz is a thoughtful, intelligent, and excellent Chef. Everything is consistent, perfectly seasoned, and perfectly executed. You can feel the love in his food. He is a talent that I wished I had in my 2 Michelin starred restaurants over the years. The cuisine is backed by a lovely and professional front of house and management team that makes every visit special and unique.

Food was very good and service was good. Not a bad place to get some food and drink some 🍷.

Love their small plates. Excellent cocktails. Adding in recent photos because five years later and Barcelona still doesn’t miss. It’s an added bonus having this gem practically in my backyard. They have a fun happy hour menu. I always look forward to their seasonal main menu updates. We love sitting at the bar—English and Jeff are fantastic.

From the time we sat down, we were greeted warmly by several staff. All recommendations given by one of our servers, English, were absolutely incredible. He recommended a delicious red wine called Uva de Vida, that we otherwise wouldn’t have chosen. He spent time explaining the origin of the wine and what made it special. We ordered several dishes from the tapas menu and we were beyond blown away by the explosion of flavors and the unique combinations of each dish. Top favorites included the whipped sheep cheese, bacon wrapped dates, pork belly and the chicken pimientos. The whipped sheep cheese was truly something out of this world. My husband is still trying to find words to describe the chicken pimientos as I write this. He’s thinking about dropping me off at home in New Jersey and immediately driving back just for this dish…Please do yourself a favor, and order this without hesitation. The staff were exceptional, friendly, responsive, charasmatic, and attentive. We would not hesitate to come back. Thank you to John, our phenomenal server! We may come back to Norwalk just to experience the chicken pimentos and the whipped sheep cheese!!!! Thank you for an unforgettable favorable night!

I had a great time at Barcelona Norwalk! I explained to them what kind of wine I like & they delivered. Not to mention they had 50% off today my daughter was a big fan. Such a sweet staff, I was made at home & I will 100% be coming back to try something new!!!

Updated review - 4.5 stars After our first dining experience we were invited back by the manager to give Barcelona another shot. In short, the experience was excellent! The food was on point and the service was great, both in terms of pace and attentiveness. Our party of 4 (plus baby) was seated promptly and a high chair was brought over. Foodwise we tried: Spinach & chickpea cazuela, whipped sheep's cheese, patatas bravas, pork belly, double cut bacon, croquetas, eggplant caponata and gambas al ajillo. Everything was tasty but the favorites were the cazuela, sheep's cheese, pork belly and caponata. For desert we tried the basque cheescake and flan catalan; both were delicious! The tapas came out quickly and in rapid succession. The table was bussed promptly and service was pleasant and attentive. Definitely worth a return visit!

Disappointed. There are many Barcelona restaurants around, and I'm generally a fan of this chain. However, our dinner experience at this Barcelona Norwalk was rather subpar. Maybe it was a bad luck, but the most of the tapas we ordered were either under-seasoned, or overly salty. We had 7 or 8 different tapas and I honestly can't say that I liked any of them. We also ordered dessert, and only coffee ice cream was tasty, but flan and cheesecake were rather meh. Service was friendly, but with some occasional timing lapses. I'm sure Barcelona can do better.

One of the best restaurants in Norwalk. The food is good, the Alebrijes cocktail is unworldly. Not 5 stars because the service can be a little more attentive at times. English is a fantastic bartender though and made me an awesome mocktail. The manager (I think said her name was Elena), is also wonderful. Oh and their brunch is super good!!

Used to love their chicken pimientos. Great price. But they don't clean the chicken much from loose bones or rubbery cartilage. Really disappointing. I bet the other entires are good but the chicken has been become a hard pass for me over time.

Having never been to the Barcelona in Norwalk I was thrilled to enter a warm burbling of conversation, good music, and a friendly staff. Brandon greeted us at the door and said there would be a brief wait as people finished and a table prepared. We were happy to hang out at the bar and lean until a table was available. Brandon very kindly reorganized the tables to accommodate us being seated sooner. We ordered a selection of tapas from our warm, friendly waitress, Kinzie, including mussels, fresh anchovies, hummus, and others. Everything was excellent, flavorful, and prepared well. We left feeling so very glad to have tried the Norwalk Barcelona. It is a little more open than the Stamford location with better table spacing and better acoustics. There is also an outdoor space for warmer nights. I am looking forward to going back already. The staff could not have been better! Excellent!

I tried... I did. I gave it 2 tries in 1 week and both were terrible. My first time there I sat at the bar and no one paid attention to me. Everyone was doing side work with their backs turned. I literally had to raise my hand and say, Excuse me twice, once to order wine and another to order my food. It was so sad. I wanted to give them a try. Then another time I decided to take my parents there thinking the table service would be different. We didn't get greeted for 11 minutes. When the waitor did come over, he grabbed our water glasses with his fingers, pulling them towards him with his fingers on the lip area. Our food didn't come. We eded up canceling our food after 45 minutes (olives and goat cheese spread or something). The waitor all of a sudden was bringing the apps at the end when our jackets were on and we're about to leave "these just came out, they're on the house". Really? Also for the entire hour we sat there, the 2 tables around us stayed dirty. From the moment we sat down until we got up, no one cleaned the tables around us. I hope a manager doesn't comment on this saying "please give us another chance", because the two managers sat at the bar the whole time and catered to the engagement party or whatever was happening in the other room. It's such a shame. I live upstairs, and I will never ever come back.

Food: 10/10 the gambas (shrimp) was good, so were the bacon wrapped dates and albondigas (meatballs)! Drinks: 10/10 tasty sangrias and great wine options! Service: 10/10 the servers were super attentive Ambiance: 10/10 Can you say GNO? Date night?

This was an absolutely perfect Valentine's Day dinner this place has set up. I have called ahead and made a reservation here and got myself seated in about 15 minutes. However, they had sweets and treats to enjoy through the wait time. The theme of the restaurant was dim and a pleasant candle light experience with roses at every table. The food as usual is amazing.

Just had the best meal with friends here tonight! We ordered a bunch of different items to share and literally everything we ate was AMAZING! Can't even decide what was my favorite. We had the patatas brava, empanadas, croquetas, and the chorizo. 10/10!! Also the chocolate cake was outstanding. Great drinks too! Loved the atmosphere, great vibes. Will definitely be back!

Update*** Haven't been back to this location in over 8 months, and tonight my wife and I decided to try it again! From start to finish was night and day, Brandon, one of the most professional managers I've ever met, knew his restaurant through and through and was a master of his craft! Rahm, an amazing hire for Barcalona, if they can hire waiters like him this place will explode in amazing business reviews and clientele. He had a smile to light up a room and always made sure we were all set! Daniel who was his trainer is doing a great job. Thank you Barcelona for a great experience and for changing my tune on this restaurant! I will be back with clients as I entertain, and will be bring my wife again soon for another amazing experience. Cheers!

Delish but packed. The Barcelona/Bartaco team have a very successful restaurant formula and great food. My only critique would be the bar in this location is packed so entering or leaving or going to the bathroom involves a bit of crowd surfing. ‍

I came here with my family for a graduation celebration. The staff here was very accomadating. There were many options for tapas which I thoroughly enjoyed and other options to share big plates. Its definitely a nice vibe and would recommend for a date night.

5 stars for quality food/drinks, service, ambience and reasonably priced menu! Quality food/drinks: We ordered different Tapas - Shrimp, Lamb, Sardines; charcuterie - Jamon Serrano and Manchego; and Chicken Pimientos. Tapas are the BEST!!! No matter what you order, you will get the real taste of it. The cheese and ham were brilliant too. Chicken Pimiento was average; I am not a big fan of whole chicken, but I could tell that the chicken was definitely organic. Huge list of classy wines, local beer, delightful sangria and cocktails. Service: No complaints about the service. They asked us where we want to sit inside/outside, they were always available without being intrusive. Drinks and fresh bread with olive oil were served without any delay. Food followed one by one. Javier (staff) was very polite, funny and interested in making sure that we were having a good time. Ambience: Located at Waypointe, courtyard area with 3-4 other restaurants (Japanese, American, Pizza place and a cafe), with a beautiful little fountain in the center. It is surrounded by the buildings which causes a cool breeze to flow, adding comfort if you decide to dine outside in the open. If the weather is good, sit outside, enjoy the breeze! Menu: Tapas restaurants are usually pricey, but not all of them are good quality. Here, the prices are pretty much on par with other restaurants but the quality is extremely good! Don't miss. They have other branches too!

Amazing food. I was able to try so many wonderful dishes. Service is good and I really enjoyed the atmosphere. I recommend ordering a wine flight too.

Horrible pounding hip hop played non-stop, it ruined our dining experience despite the great food and great service. The chicken was amazing and the tapas we had were equally delicious. Because of the music we won't be going back anytime soon.

I want to tell you one situation why. I will never go to Barcelona Wine bar again, my boyfriend had a birthday, and I booked a room and a table in Barcelona for 16 people, everything is great, we are waiting for the holiday, we come to restaurant , and we got 2 separate tables, the guests sit back to back, all are not satisfied, a couple of days before the holiday. I called and asked if we would have a room, to which I was told yes,, you will have 100% , it will be a very terrible experience from the manager's side, I do not recommend celebrating as a birthday, etc., you will be deceived like me!!!!!

I always like this place, but lately I notice that I never see the same faces working here. Which maybe why service seems to have gone down hill just a tad. Sit at the bar and count how many times a runner will stop by and ask you if you ordered this item. That said, if I could make bread like this, I'd quit my day job

The food was amazing! Everything we ordered was great. However, the service was beyond bad. We waited for 20 minutes to get a server and ended up flagging someone down to take our drink orders. We continued to have to flag down who ever we could find to order food. Also, the music was insanely loud club music that made it very hard to talk. While the food is great, it's not worth the bad service and atmosphere. Don't recommend.

Our waitress was amazing! Super sweet, attentive, wonderful lady. The food though...made me want to cry and then vomit.

Made a reservation for Saturday, 10/14, party of 4, at 730 for a birthday celebration- despite the reservation waited 40 minutes and eventually just went to Prime. Not great if think a reservation means something.

I've been a long time customer of Barcelona since the very beginning. I go at least once a month usually to Stamford and sometimes norwalk. I noticed that the menus seem to have changed a bit the last time I went. The chickpeas and spinach seem to be more like a spread and it had more of a lemon zest flavor which was nice but not as good as the original. We ordered the meat platter for two which I have ordered at least a hundred times and it was good but not spectacular like it usually is. The pork was undercooked which I sent back and when it came back to the table it was still undercooked although after letting it sit for 15 minutes it seemed to cook through better but I did not want to eat it and take any chances. The half chicken also seem to be slightly undercooked where the skin was not crispy but the chicken itself was cooked through. But the rubbery skin had to be removed. This is the only time that I was less than satisfied so it could just be a fluke and of course I will be back and I will update my review assuming things improve.

Since COVID we had not been there! What a mistake!! An excellent meal of tapas and red wine. Same great employees! Don't miss this place! CWG

I've left the area and moved down south; but in retrospect this place has the best paella that I've ever tried.

There is no other place where you will feel so amazingly special than Barcelona. You must ask for Johnnie to be your waitstaff because he is like no other! Seriously, he is the kindest most attentive server you have ever experienced. The manager Brandon has created a staff and atmosphere that is beyond enjoyable and welcoming. Brandon is an active and necessary part of making the dining experience magical. Please get yourself to the Waypointe Barcelona. The food is OUTSTANDING. And Johnnie and Brandon are AMAZING. You cannot be disappointed here!

Great food , drinks, service. But bill will add up it is pricy. But it.was one th best in norwalk.

Nice atmosphere, located in a courtyard area with different restaurants. Free parking garage. My sister and I stopped by to have desert after eating dinner nextdoor at Haruki Ramen & Izakaya. We sat outside, and they tempted us with olive oil cake. Sounds weird but what's life but to try new things. It was served warm with olive oil drizzled over it. Amazing!! Highly recommend this treat. We had it with cappuccinos which were rich and creamy. Nicole was our server. She was wonderful. Good spot for dinner or afterward teats. Very wheelchair accessible including the bathrooms, though the doors need automatic openers. The parking garage has an accessible spot up the first ramp near the elevator. You can wheel halfway down to access the courtyard which would be on your left.

Tapas night brings back so many memories of my travel to Madrid. Makes me want to go back to Spain and explore more after COVID. Tonight we took the brother in law out to celebrate finding employment. Food is authentic and the variety is great. Atmosphere and decorum are pleasant. Staff and service was friendly and helpful. Waitress checked in on us at the right times. Drinks are strong and cocktails are well done. Will definitely come back again for date night and celebrations. Menu: -patatas bravas: love how crispy they fry the potatoes which makes it hold up well with the sauce -spiced beef empanada: filling reminds us of sloppy joe, very tender and juicy beef -grilled brook trout: strong cumin flavor which we love -chorizo w/ sweet and sour fig: interesting combo -turnips: they aight -jamon y manchego croquetas: warm gooey filling -calamari a la plancha: they aight -gambas al cajillo: packs some heat. Use extra bread to sop up the delicious garlicky and spicy oil. Recommended by waitress -hanger steak: perfectly medium rare. Husband and BIL's favorite, recommended by waitress

Food was okay. Service was terrible, I had to ask for serving spoons or utensils multiple times. When the bill came, I had to ask for a detailed receipt. Who spent $160 and just signs the bill without checking?

We had a Saturday night reservation for 3. Our waiter was very helpful and we ordered a charcuterie board- 2 meats and 2 cheeses (Serrano and Soppressata/Manchego and Bourgogne along with Albongidas meatballs, mahi mahi, patatas bravas and the chorizo with sweet and sour figs. It was definitely enough for 3 (plus we had bread). Wine was also good. Oddly the fave was the patatas bravas- tender potatoes with a nice crisp on the outside. Surprisingly tasty as recommended by our waiter. Least favorite was the mahi mahi. The tapas all came out nicely spaced so we didn't feel rushed. This location is much better than Stamford as Stamford is way too loud and parking is impossible. Overall, good experience, good tapas and good service.

I went to Barcelona in Norwalk Thursday night with my family and my kid, We have been here and the Stamford location multiple times, the ambiance it's great, and the food was great as always, the bussgirl Nora and runner were really nice, but our server Javier didn't help for us to have a great experience as we usually do, I asked him to please let me know what the kids menu was and he said we only have chicken fingers and fries, I said my kid has had the pasta here and he said yes we have pasta with butter, I said can I get the pasta with the marinara, he said we don't have that here we're not an Italian restaurant with an attitude, which I find very rude and unnecessary to say, first of all as I told him you don't need to be an Italian restaurant to have pasta with Marinara sauce for kids secondly mi son has had the pasta with meatballs and marinara multiple times at Barcelona, I wish that rude comment was never made, other than that everything was good.

LOVE this restaurant. When will you guys open up a place in New York?? We've been to the Boston and the DC location of Barcelona. All the tapas are unique and high quality. The hanger steak because the sauce was unique and the steak was perfectly cooked medium rare. The albondigas were delicious paired with a yummy tomato based sauce. The mushroom risotto was super cheesy and it was done well. I would highly recommend these tapas. The chicken pimentos is meant to be shared and it was the best dish we've had! The chicken was so juicy and cooked perfectly. The chicken skin was crispy and beautifully cooked! The pimento sauce added a little bit of heat to the meal! Highly recommend! The outdoor dining is great and the servers were absolutely attentive. Come check this place out! and I hope to see this restaurant in NY someday!

They only get three stars because the waiters were good and the food and drinks we actually received were good. Overall probably 2 stars. We had Mother's Day reservations and after almost 2 hours all we were served were drinks and hummus. The drinks and hummus were very good But we never actually received any food they actually prepared. Over the course of our meal runners left our drinks and appetizers on other tables requiring other guests to pass them to us. The restaurant seems very disorganized and not well managed. We probably will never return because after two hours and $150 with tip all we got was a drink and hummus (my children did receive their microwaved pancakes and meatballs) my wife and I did not receive any of the tappas Probably could be a great destination. Atmosphere and energy are there. But they seem to be in their own way

Barcelona Waypointe is a great spot for easy-access nightlife, bites, and plenty of wine at the Waypoint Piazza in Center Norwalk. Cozy ambiance for friends, family, and dates, we tried wines ranging from French and Italian reds to whites and a rosé. Creamy French cheese, chorizo with figs, and frites bravas were among the many tapas with ordered over a few hours. All tapas were delicious and we got seated quickly, even for a busy Saturday.

Barcelona has always been my comfort spot. I love sitting at their spacious bar and ordering their tapas and drinks. I love the bourbon spice rack. My friend and I shared a charcuterie board, jamon and manchego croquetas, and empanadas. These are typically our go to tapas and they never disappoint. I didn't have room for it but my go to entree has to be the chicken pimientos. *chef's kiss*

The manager and people there are fantastic. The food is delicious and the wines by the glass selection is good. Interior is intimate and charming.

Service was nice and the sangria was nice. The servers even went out of their way to make us mojitos which we ended up liking better than the sangrias. The large plate (half size) fed 2 people so definitely worth every penny. The arancini and skirt steak were a let down but the sauce accompanied with them were flavorful. The Mahi Mahi though cooked perfectly had a slight smell while eating. All in all it was nice and good place for chilling.

We came here for my birthday and it was very conveniently located, it's in a little center so the outside is really pretty. There's a huge parking lot which was super easy. Going in the place is trendy with an open kitchen concept behind the bar. We were seated towards the back which I was thankful for because with babies it can get awkward sitting in the middle of a restaurant trying to soothe your whiny children. Our waitress and busboys were friendly and patient. We all started off with a couple of glasses of wine and the guns and rosés sangria carafe. For tapas we had the Beef Empanadas which were only ok, the Hanger Steak, Patatas Bravas which were a favorite and I recommend everyone tries, grilled okra (was surprised how much I loved this simple dish), house marinated olives (must have), charred pulpo (so yummy!), jamón & manchego croquettes (fantastic, the baby loved it), chorizo w/ sweet & sour figs (my husband loved this and he's not an adventurous eater) and the grilled leeks (needed to be cooked a bit more in my opinion). We loved their tapas, they were so full of flavor, their wine options were great, we had a wonderful time. Will definitely come back! Thank you for a great experience.

Always good. Fun delicious food in small portions with great drinks served with a smile in a great atmosphere! What else do you want? Answer: nothing!

Great food & great service. I come here way more often than I should but they never disappoint. The only time they've let me down was when they didn't have a specific bottle of wine but no biggie bc their selection is expansive but the 2015 Terraces cab is my personal fav. The Bertha baked oysters & the hanger steak w/ the truffle vinaigrette are a must. The octopus, croquettes, calamari, & patatas bravas are also really good. Other wine I love from here: 2015 Hacienda Monasterio, Crianza Fontes Cunha, Mondeco 2016 Bardos, Romantica

Saturday night. We had reservations... But when we got there, there were 8 to 10 parties waiting in a very small space to be seated. After waiting a half an hour, super close & bumping into other people which is not recommended in these Covid times, decided to go to a nearby restaurant instead. We have a gift card to this restaurant, so we will return, but only during off-peak hours. The food is good, from the one time I was able to go, but not exceptional. The experience is festive and fun so I do understand the popularity of this place. The hostess and wait staff are kind but the atmosphere was too busy and loud to be thoroughly enjoyable for my taste.

Food was good. Hostess not. Made reservations only to be queued up behind walk ins. Don't bother taking the time to make reservation.

What a cool place to have dinner. The location is really convenient and the vibe is reall Special mention for the Malbec on the wine list, a great pick for a reasonable price. BTW, the direct QR code payment with the credit card is a great improvement in this Covid time.

Always love the consistency and quality of any Barcelona location! Had been to the 2 in Boston various times over the years when I lived there so wanted to try the Norwalk location once we moved to CT. Tried some of our favorite dishes - eggplant caponata, patatas bravas, albondigas, spinach chickpea cazuela. And also tried some new ones we hadn't had before - paella, oysters, shrimp, steak, cheeses, etc. Will absolutely be back. Great for brunch or dinner.

Barcelona reminds me of the classic mindless corporate endeavor. Nothing I experienced or tasted was above average and some was poor. House marinated olives were nothing special. The lemon hummus was average but the fried pita bread was so overcooked I feared I would damage my teeth trying to chew them. The escargot were served barely warm with an unpleasant sauce that had a film on top suggesting that it had been pre-made and not properly warmed. The grilled Berkshire Pork collar had a tasty onion sauce but the Pork was basically tough grizzle. As I am writing this I am wondering why I gave it 2 stars. Anyway, I will not be returning!

Amazing evening at BWB Waypointe. Greeted by Charlie, who greeted us with his amazing and friendly smile. Immediately seated and greeted by Jake, our server for the evening. Brooke and Brandon also came over to say hello and Liam, the bartender, came over to say hi too. I brought someone new with me and I was excited bc I usually go to BWB Stamford. Tonight's meal was delicious. The chef brought out a few tapas himself and assured me that each dish was vegan. For the record- I HATE mushrooms. And I ate half the dish! They were spectacular. The mahi mahi was apparently delicious, the eggplant was a favorite, the humus was yummy and the tomato salad was awesome. We had cauliflower and zucchini which were both great too. I didn't love the cooked radish but definitely worth trying. My old fashions, made special by Brandon, were superb as always. I love this place! Spectacular experience across the board.

Cant say enough about our waitress, Amy! Having had a few drinks prior to getting to the restaurant we were definitely a bit more needy. She handled us and our order with aplomb. I hope she appreciates the extra tip I left and thanks for being just awesome! Kudos Amy and continue being the great waitress you are!!

One of my family's favorite restaurants to dine at. The staff for the most part is always so welcoming and warm especially Nadia who is always the first one to greet us when we arrive just wish we had the option as having her as our server as my wife and kids love her!! The food is quite consistent as well, always fresh and if they drop the ball on anything the managers are quite good at coming up with a resolution.

Barcelona is a great series of chain restaurants that is typically very reliable and consistent. I was disappointed the other night when I ordered the steak tapas dish "medium" and it definitely was on the rare side. When I asked for another very politely, the waiter seemed annoyed and then I could hear the cook and him discussing it in the back. What returned was a grey piece of charred, well done steak. I addressed this again with the waiter and he apologized but when the bill came, it was still there. Not that I wanted a free dish, but it just seems like common courtesy to do something in response to this. They get 3 stars and the opportunity to make it right over time, but this was super disappointing from a restaurant that I go to often.
