Extensive array of Spanish-centric small plates & wine with an outdoor patio.
"There’s a lot to like about Barcelona Wine Bar. The food is good, the wine list is better, and their massive outdoor patio sets it apart from most other restaurants on East Passyunk. They serve mostly tapas like eggplant caponata, patatas bravas, and steak paillard covered in peppery vinaigrette, which makes it a perfect spot to go with a bigger group of people. Stop by for a glass of wine before bar hopping around the neighborhood." - alison kessler, candis mclean

"Sure, they’d love to meet you at “Barthelona” on East Passyunk. You order the paella, and before you can blink, they tell you “It’s "pah-EL-yah,” while claiming Penelope Cruz told them so herself. Before you bail, remember—there’s an endless amount of small plates, excellent seafood dishes (like the juicy whole roasted branzino), and wines to make listening to them roll their “r’s” tolerable. "East Passyunk’s Barcelona Wine Bar serves great shareable tapas and their outdoor patio is one of the best (and largest) in the area. There’s about as many seats on the outside as there are on the inside—and you see people on dates, celebrating a birthday, or toasting to the first sunny day in weeks with a Manhattan with a sherry twist. The tapas spot is ideal for grabbing a few plates of patatas bravas, whole fish, good wine, and pretending you’re near the Mediterranean Sea on a sunny day (just surrounded by Philly accents).
