Barcha Review - East Harlem - New York - The Infatuation

"If you’re looking for somewhere to meet for a casual date, or to just catch up with a friend who moved upstate last year and hasn’t been back since, Barcha is the spot. Order a signature cocktail like the Za’atar Paloma or one of their many beers, then go for anything on the menu that comes with the tangy avocado poblano sauce. Two good options: the marvelously crunchy chicken wings coated in sweet-and-spicy harissa honey or the fried chicken jibarito, which replaces soft buns with tostones." - The Curious Uptowner

Google
Latin Fusion food that’s sure to steal your heart in Bushwick because it stole mine! I literally loved every single thing I tried so I know the whole menu is worth trying out! & everyone here is so friendly, kind & attentive. The canoa del cibao melts in your mouth & the tostada Angel is so unique & flavorful! Both are an absolute must along with the lomofongo & Barchaa trio! Don’t skip out on the dessert cuz the stuff churros & mango cheese cake are the perfect way to end a bomb meal! The drinks are sooo good & def on the strong side too. I’m already looking forward to coming back to try other items on the menu & their brunch. Definitely check them out because they are worth every bite!

The place is pleasant and clean. The service was good. I went during the day so there wasn’t any crowds or anything. I can’t say anything about the food because I don’t normally like the type food that I got, but I do feel that the crab cakes are overpriced for what they give. I think anyone that likes Peruvian food would be okay with the food.

Google
This restaurant is amazing! Food and drinks are BOMB! The spicy margarita is my favorite and the customer service is wonderful. Love it snd will continue to come back! If you love churros, this was great as well!! Literally everything was amazing, definitely make plans to stop by and enjoy!!!

Google
Nice place to go for drinks, they were very delicious. The food was okay. They have a cute outdoor section for covid dining. I would go back for a happy hour to try more of their drinks.

Google
What a hidden gem in Brooklyn! I was referred to this restaurant by a friend of mine and I’m so happy I took they’re advice on checking this place out! I absolutely loved it - the food, desserts, drinks were so amazing I decided to celebrate my birthday here! Word of advice come hungry cause trust me you’ll want to keep on eating - oh & make sure you save room dessert because their churros, and nutella cheesecake are to die for!! I met the owner Solangi, she’s super friendly and has the nicest welcoming staff! The restaurant is super clean and follows COVID protocol and regulations. If you’re ever in the boroughs I would definitely recommend for you to try this restaurant!!

Google
First time here and be delighted. the attention and the food super good, more than that excellent, the atmosphere of the best. I recommend during restaurant time. But at night I don't like it very much, the place is very small and the people who smokes hooka throws the smoke in your face, without respecting that you don't smoke.

Google
Wonderful restaurant and great food. The staff are extremely attentive to your needs. I enjoyed everything that I ordered and my drink was great as well. I can’t wait to visit again

Google
Really enjoyed the frozen drinks. The black mussel ceviches was astounding! So flavorful and refreshing. For my entree I had the Arroz Chaufa with chicken. It was bland to me.

Yelp
Came in around 7 on a Friday night. Found parking s few blocks away. I'm not naive. I know it's Brooklyn but the walk from the car to the spot was sketchy. Some kids aimed a colorful nerf/ water gun at me. I didn't like that. But once inside all the riffraff of the block is forgotten. The lightning, the murals, and the decor have a really nice vibe. They had some music playing and the ambiance was chill. There was one other table occupied at the time and the space was nice and open with a spot in the back for live music I'm assuming. The service was good. Our waitress was attentive and helped us with suggestions. She was able to accommodate our little side requests and chances to the menu. I order the fish tacos and the corn on the cob. I had the sangria/margarita drink which was super overpriced but good. The fish tacos were good not out of this world but a good size with a good amount of fish. I added some hot sauce and it hit the spot. The corn was flavorful and tasty. It was cut up into 3 pieces. My friend ordered the fried fish entree with a seafood crème sauce and substituted the rice for beans. Along with the montaditos (one beef, one chicken, and one veggie) and the passion fruit fizz for drinks. It was a good portion of food. She had lots to take home. It had oysters and crawfish. The sauce was delicious. The drink was strong and tasty. This spot was good. In the area, I'd def come back. There wasn't a happy hour for Friday but other days sound good.

Yelp
Margarita was great, food was excellent and service was great!! I came here for my best friend's birthday and learned that this restaurant is Peruvian and Dominican fusion. I had the monfongo with pork and Dominican cheese and it was great. I also had a side of maduros (sweet plantains) and the presentation was amazing. I will be back!

Yelp
Last minute decision to grab some food and I was in the mood for Peruvian. I have been longing to come back here after 5 years and decided to drop in. I was not disappointed .The food has only gotten better. The flavors, the service everything was perfect as it was the 1st time. I would say this is in my top places to go for Latin cuisine. Every single thing we ate was amazing. They removed the stage and added more seats which looked great. All of the new furnishings gave a Tulum vibe. Def will be back

Yelp
Randomly came across this place on Yelp and I'm sooooooooooo happy I did! Everything was perfect for this spontaneous night. I came here on a Thursday, wasn't packed, music was amazing and the waiter was great. The food was delicious! My friend and I ordered 4 plates to share. The drinks? Couldn't have asked for a better cool-down than the frozen sangria. Definitely coming back

Johanna V.

Yelp
We ordered food last night for pick up and the steak was kinda cold and as well i did not receive the mash potatoes with my order . Kinda disappointed

Yelp
Cute spot in Brooklyn- pretty good and I'd come if I were in the area but not sure Id make the trek out again since it's harder to get to from Manhattan / Queens. Came for a birthday brunch and they have an amazing bottomless deal (around $40 i believe for entree and drinks?). We didn't go with their deal bc the "entree" options were less exciting than their regular menu, and instead opted for a "bowl" cocktail. This came in a hugggge cocktail glass (size of my head probably) rather than a bowl which was a bit shocking but very cute. Cocktail was good and not too strong - we got something orange (I think it was the first on the menu). For food, I got the arroz chaufa and lomo-fongo. The arroz chaufa was an amazing fried rice - tasted like the one I get at the Japanese restaurant near my place. Delish!! The lomo-fongo was alright - I think it was a bit more dry than I would have liked and the mashed plantains were a lot. They were a bit bland and not sweet. This is definitely a heavier dish, so come prepared if you want to finish it! Overall pretty tasty. The whole time we were there (Saturday), the restaurant wasn't particularly crowded, so could be good for a larger group, esp. if everyone wants to do bottomless!

Yelp
I am absolutely amazed by the Chef who prepared my lunch today through Uber. Their culinary skills left me speechless. I had the pleasure of savoring the delicious Arroz Chaufa and the incredible Barchaa Trio, consisting of steak, shrimp, and lobster. It was a truly delightful experience! I am eagerly looking forward to dining at the restaurant in person because the food was just so incredibly good! The steak was cooked to perfection, and the lobster was prepared with great finesse, neither undercooked nor overcooked. The rice was bursting with flavor, adding an extra dimension to the meal. I sincerely hope that this Chef maintains this level of consistency because it was truly exceptional. While the Aji Verde sauce didn't quite meet my expectations, as it needed more garlic, jalapeños, and less mayo, the overall quality of the food more than made up for it. I can't wait to visit the restaurant in person and extend my heartfelt compliments to the talented Chef!

Yelp
I came here for a small birthday celebration. It's pretty close to commute by bus but it is kind of a Neighborhoodies space. They were just the two of us. We had to be seated on the road in the beginning but they moved us to the outdoor space which was enclosed pretty quickly. I couldn't sit inside because it was just way too loud. It kind of had a night club vibe on the inside as well. Following the night club vibe, they were really small tables inside for maybe two people. Outside they had bigger tables for seating, up to six people. They were wooden tables and benches. The service was a little on the slower side but the wait staff was really helpful. We asked him a good number of questions since we didn't know the dishes and we wanted to try the traditional preparations. We got the elotes with our drinks and they were amazing. I will always get these hWe got the ceviche and the grilled octopus and the tostones to start. We also got the beef main course which was delicious and well-prepared and cane with a traditional sauce. From the drinks I tried the sangria and my mom got the margarita. I highly recommend the margarita here it's really tasty. They have a happy hour till about 7pm as well so make good use of it! There aren't too many Peruvian restaurants so this one is unique for what it offers. I'll be back when I want a new food adventure

Yelp
Let's start with the positives. Music is on point with a good mix of genres (salsa, bachata, reggeaton). The passion fruit in the drinks is legitimately delicious. The downside. The crowd: on a dead Saturday night (8-9pm) with maximum four couples (spaced out well) one individual spoke loudly enough for the whole place to be drowned in debby downer vibes. I dont know how long they were here but the drinks (although tasty) aren't strong enough at all to be acting up no how. The food: the huancaina sauce needs to be redone. It taste like none I've had. It resembles velvetta cheese in flavor and appearance. However the chicken in the aji de gallina was moist and the olives added a pleasant flavor. The egg and walnuts could have been good if the egg wasn't cold (straight from the fridge) and the walnuts were a bit more fresh. Ordered a salad as a side but it never came which I'm grateful for (turns out it wasn't on the receipt). The grilled octopus is more a la gallega than grilled, and the veggie accompaniments have a very soy sauce like flavor. Seeing as Peruvian nor Dominicans eat octopus like this (a la gallega) it was unexpected but not unpleasant. However the vegetables were cut in wild sizes ranging from tiny to massive and I didn't care for the flavor at all. The jalea had more imitation crab than needed (the correct amount is 0). Everything was decently fried however the fish was was to soft (I like a more meaty fish in my jelea) it felt like all you were eating was batter. The mollusks weren't perfectly fried but as a person who doesn't like any of them fried these made me want to keep trying to find some I can enjoy. Overall this is 100% a one and done type of spot. I'm glad I came and supported mi gente and maybe far down the road I'll pop in for a drink only, most likely to go.

Yelp
My best friend is in town visiting and I wanted Peruvian food. The food here is a fusion of Peruvian and Dominican food. Help to the rescue. After a brief search the was recommended in my neighborhood. I called and they assured me they were open and would love to have us visit. This was the confirmation I needed. For a Thursday night it was very empty with one one couple having dinner. I became skeptical but the host assured me the food was delicious and worth it. My best friend ordered a lychee martini and I opted for the passion fruit juice. I was sold on the presentation of the passion fruit drink. This is my first time having a hand crafted juice (smiling). The attention and detail was appreciated. We order four appetizers and a side order or fried sweet plantains. The food was fresh, visually appealing and delicious. I had to remind myself to slow down and savory each bite. My best friend and I were subconsciously competing to have the last fish taco. We were full from the appetizers. Mofongo is on the menu and so gluttony will be happening. This is a judgement free zone so I will continue. The garlic shrimp sauce was a perfect compliment to the Mofongo and after a few bites we shook our heads in satisfaction. I can't eat any more tonight and so it will be taken home to be devoured tomorrow. I made a few attempts today to return. Taco Tuesday is $3 per taco and so my return is sooner than I can blink. It's worth every dollar. The staff is pleasant, professionals and accommodating. I can't wait to brings my friends.

Yelp
Better late than never...... here's my review of my experience at Barchaa which is a fusion of Peruvian and. Dominican cuisines. My fellow Yelp friend Alexis and I decided to get together to celebrate our belated birthdays which were in June and July. Alexis arrived early and they still seated her and gave her a pitcher of water which was pretty cool since most restaurants don't seat you until the entire dinner party has arrived. It was hard to decide what to order because everything that came from the kitchen looked so delicious. I decided to order the Pollo saltado as my entree. It consisted of sautéed chicken which is marinated in a Peruvian style soy sauce and served with white rice and French fries. I also ordered the sweet plantains as my side order because I simply love to eat them. I loved the presentation of the sweet plantains and how much I received in the order. Alexis enjoyed her meal which was called Salmon a la Huancaina and consisted of Grilled salmon, roasted potatoes and vegetables, mixed greens and huancaina sauce. I also enjoyed my drink as well. A week later, I was thinking about going back to dine again because the food was that good.

Yelp
Order from this place when you want to overpay and receive very little food. I was about to take a bit when I noticed that my 7$ side of mash, was bigger than my 26$ mofogito with shrimps. Looks more like a lunch special than a entree. Also, the menu posted a year ago on yelp is inaccurate as they changed and everything to about 5 to 7$ more.

Yelp
Barchaa is a Peruvian Domincan Restaurant. Opening in 2016, this specific location is in the Bushwick section of Brooklyn. According to the website, Barchaa's cuisine combines authentic flavors from Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic + Peru. Barchaa was the right place for Lina + I to have Celebratory Belated-Birthday Dinner to honor both of our Birthdays! Besides, we both had it bookmarked via Yelp, so it was good that we both got to try this restaurant for the first time today -lol. I made the reservation online via their website and added pertinent information. * Please note that Barchaa puts in thier disclaimer that individuals may be charged a $10 per person fee if they cancel the reservation. We discussed this as I wanted to be sure that we would both be comfortable and aware of this information before I made the reservation. The reservation takes a few minutes to complete and the confirmation email was sent quickly. Barchaa has a lounge vibe. Barchaa has a mixture of wooden + leather seating arrangements. Such gorgeous lightning arrangements that were observed to look even more chic and cool as the evening progressed. The wall mural is dope. Thank you to the hardworking, pleasant, friendly, patient staff that provided nice customer service. The servers were kind to explain various dishes and cocktails in order for Lina + I to make cocktail + entree selections. Barchaa has Appetizers, Entress, Desserts as well as a Frozen + "On the Rocks" Cocktail List. Cocktails ordered included a Frozen Blue Hawaiian and Pisco Punch. Barchaa cocktails are nice and strong - definitely mixed well and tasted great. Lina was kind enough to let me taste some of her Fabulous (yes, it was that good). Pollo Saltado - Sautéed Chicken marinated Peruvian Style in Soy Sauce w/ White Rice + French Fries. She really enjoyed her entreeI had Salmon a la Huacaina - Grilled Salmon w/ Roasted Potatoes + Vegetables. Delicious! Website- barchaanyc.com. Barchaa has Weekend Brunch, Taco Tuesdays + Sushi Thursdays. Hours of Operation: Monday-Sunday 12 noon - 9pm. Barchaa also has an Instagram Page. Inquiries to obtain additional information can be sent via email to barchaanyc@gmail.com.

Yelp
Update on my previous review 3 years ago. Came here for Valentines Feb 2023, menu changed slightly but for the better!!! The food continues to be great, service is excellent and if you're looking for a sexy date night with mood lighting this is the place for you. Food feels like home, like someone's abuelita (grandma) is cooking in the back. For apps we had a Fish Tostada, basically perfectly season fried white fish piece on top of the tostada (a round churchy tortilla) with guacamole fried white fish and pico on top so good. Pics of my entre attached I had the Lomo (sliced steak with pepper onions and side of rice and steak fries) and my wife had Salmon with Huancaína sauce. Don't walk please run here it's delicious food and sexy Instagramable ambiance

Yelp
Some items were delicious while others you can just get anywhere. Nice ambience and decor. Service was a little slow. I can see myself craving some of the items in this menu. Shrimp and Fish ceviche: Served with plantain chips. Couldn't stop eating it even after I was full. Has good textures and flavors. Chicken wings with Asian (?) sauce: crispy and juicy wings. But the sauce is just the sweet and spicy sauce. Is it worth paying so much for wings? I would pass on this one and go somewhere else. Corn on the cob: good, but again nothing special. I would rather get another dish unless I want some veggies. Tallarines a la Huacaina: creamy pasta with pieces of steak, onions, tomatoes. SO SO GOOD. It was delicious and I can see myself craving this again. Service and ambience: beautifully decorated. Seemed busy on Thursday after 8 but no wait. Food came out fast but service seemed slow. There were servers waiting around but it took them some time to give us the menu and take orders, etc. Not a big deal though. Pricing: It was fine, for some of the dishes I'm willing to pay the high price because they were that good. COVID precaution: servers were not wearing masks but there was a sanitizer in the front.

Yelp
This place used to be so good prior to Covid. The drinks were good and balanced and food was on point. I've been here 3 times with friends. The last time I went I was not impressed. Food was bland and warm didn't taste so fresh to any of us. It took about 10 mins for the food to come out. The service is what got me! I won't be going back due to lack of customer service. The waitress/bartender was all over the place. She looked like she was being bothered and wasn't listening to us as we ordered. Prior to Covid customer service was great! They had really good staff and the bartender was amazing! He was so nice and welcoming. Kept the drinks coming, attentive and fast. He worked the crowd well on his own. Food was fresh and very hot packed with flavor!

Yelp
This review for to-go ONLY: bestie and I ordered through one of the apps, maybe Uber Eats for lunch. Simple - Arroz con marisco, Pulpo, and Beet salad delivered. Came I'm about 30mins post ordering and all of the food were so good and balanced! Not too acidic (since some Peruvian places go way too lime heavy), just flavorful enough (not bland or over powering), and octopus tender (we've all had rubbery ones - yuck). Surely eating there may be a different experience but delivery was absolutely fabulous!
google avatar

Mary G.

Yelp
The food was amazing - the service phenomenal - portions were large and everything cooked to perfection - you must try if you are in Brooklyn

Yelp
Presentation was amazing! Service excellence... the music a little loud but then again I was seating near the speaker. Would definitely be back here

Yelp
Came back and always impressed with this place. Tried the Barchaa burger for brunch which was great. Also tried the Lomofongo which is moist and tasty. The steak pieces were so good. They make the best Henny Coladas! Worth trying.
google avatar

Yelp
Cute spot with a good drinks menu. Disappointed that the chicken empanadas were very dry and the chicken dish was very salty. But the rest of the food was good and service was good.

JC M.

Yelp
Great food, service, and vibe! Will be returning. Thank goodness it's walking distance from my apartment.

Yelp
So you know how you go to a new place, you pray and hope that it's gonna be good after you look at the others tables plates of food and then you get yours and the food is super disappointed?? Yeah... That didn't happen here... It was all AMAZEBALLS!!! My friends took me here for my birthday. They know I'll love any food that's Cuban, Dominican, Peruvian, or any other Spanish speaking country... LOL! That night it seems like we ordered everything on the menu...canoa del cibao, barchaa chicken wings, ceviche de pescado (for the seafood lovers), arroz chaufa (chicken & beef), lomo del Peru, picadera peruana, and I think that's it... I know...how do I remember all the stuff on the table... b/c it was just that good. LOL!!! The drinks were just as good... can't remember the names of them... but super tasty. My small complaint...1. Food taking forever to come out when the place wasn't really full. 2. Being told that their card machine didn't work so they were only taking cash and that was after the meal. Besides that I reeeeeaaaally like this place. I hope the next visit those small issues disappear.
google avatar

Domonique H.

Yelp
I really love this spot, they have the best lychee martinis and they chipotle chicken are to die for. Its the best thing man made from god. Just make sure they put the sauce on the chicken and not on the side! You will not regret it. Service is great and the ambiance is quite unique as well.
google avatar

Karen J.

Yelp
Love it! Came here for the first time the other day I actually found this place through seated. They have a $5 happy hour drink special which you can't go wrong with. Their margaritas are amazing super strong! And will definitely do the trick for that after work buzz that you need. The food was great as well. I tried the steak mofongo. Very flavorful but the steak could've used a little more seasoning. It's like all the flavor came from the plantain. I also ordered wings for the apps, the sweet chili wings were great delicious and fried crispy. I also ordered the churros for dessert. Sooo good and complimented well with the vanilla ice cream Ambiance was nice, staff were attentive. I'd definitely come back here and recommend it.
google avatar

Jeanne S.

Yelp
Food was subpar. Had the fried rice and a chicken dish. Empanadas tasted like they were fried in old oil Had another event going on which was super super loud. Wouldn't recommend, just another hyped up place on social media
google avatar

Yahaira M.

Yelp
Only thing that blew my mind was the service and the corn in the cob. The calamari was good but ordinary. My friends and i did not finish our plates. The chaufa rice had dried pieces of chicken in it and we had to ask for the green sauce , which without it it tasted bland. The lomo saltado steak was way too hard and thick, also very mild flavor. The coconut juice, although tasty was super fattening . Not a repeat place for me.
google avatar

Sarah J.

Yelp
I really wish I could give this place a good rating, but I got food poisoning from their Jalea and it was probably the worst Jalea I've ever had. The seafood didn't seem fresh and this morning I've just been throwing up and having all sorts of issues. The empanaditas were also overcooked and there was no tomato salsa on it like in the picture. Please make sure your food is safe to eat.
google avatar

Yelp
Came on a Tuesday night with friends for the first time. HH was until 8pm which provided good options. My first $2 margaritas were pretty strong (which is a plus for me). I first sat at the bar while waiting for the rest of my party to arrive. Waiter wasn't too welcoming. I was then moved to a table and to our surprise they had a live DJ which was great playing a nice mix of songs. Hookah is available too! We ordered the guac and chips from the HH menu to start. The guac unfortunately was not good at all. It tasted cold as if it was in the fridge for hours and as person that has eaten guac several times I can tell it was not made to order which was unfortunate. Our waiter Andres was pleasant and when I bought it to his attention he removed it from the bill. My friends had the mofongo which was pretty good. We did also try the sangria which was strong and hittin. Around 9pm the lights got dim, staff walked around gave us napkins and a congo line started lol. Was great Taco Tuesday vibe. The restaurant has been open now for 8 months and appears it will continue to be great. I look forward to coming back and trying something else for entree as well as a Friday night. The HH specials were the seal the deal for us.

Yelp
This restaurant never misses a beat! From the staff, to the drinks but mostly the FOOD! IS AMAZING ! They invested in a heated, intimate outdoor set up which is cozy and romantic. I have been here a few times and on my last visit I decided to try a new dish. OMG it was sooo delicious that I had to come write a review so everyone can go try it! LOL you can thank me later Barchaa has definitely become one of my neighborhood favorites.

Yelp
Ceviche was Bussinnnn, ion even like tostones & these were the best I've ever had. Passion Fruit Margaritas was A1

Yelp
We made a reservation the day before. The owner called me to make sure we all was on time. It was suppose to be 6 of us but one had to cancel so it was five all together. We got a table owner very nice came over we got drinks and appetizers. we ordered our food and did not take long the chef was very on point. Food was delicious. Prices are not bad either.

Lucille F.

Yelp
I went there for my birthday dinner, and the atmosphere was great, the food was delicious, and they had great service. They were flexible with our seating arrangements since we had a big group and we had a good time.
google avatar

Yelp
Incredible food! So fresh - the ceviche was some of the best we've had anywhere (and we have a running list) - great customer service. I also had the quinoa risotto with shrimp which was portioned just right with a big heap of leaves on top and shrimp throughout. Highly recommend for Latin flavors with a twist!
google avatar

Kaitlyn K.

Yelp
We came here after viewing an apartment in the neighborhood. There is a large outdoor dining space with plenty of space between the tables. The place seems to be a former club pre-COVID and because of this the drink menu has that "let's get drunk quick" vibe. The do have a standard beer list so I got. A Brooklyn IPA and my husband a Modello. As far as the menu it is a fusion of Peruvian and Puerto Rico/Caribbean foods. There were several styles of mofongo on the menu. However, they are lacking some staple Peruvian dishes. I ordered the Quinotto de Camarones, which has three big shrimp for the plating and several tiny shrimp throughout and my husband ordered the Camarofongo. Both entrees were good and filling. The outdoor area is on a pretty busy road and does seem to have a fly problem based on the fly traps through out the seating area.

Jessica A.

Yelp
The service and food were excellent! The ambiance was great as well! I would absolutely recommend Thai place.

Yelp
- Its a party on Taco Tuesday night (complete with DJ and everything) - With that said, taco Tuesday is really loud' - The drink specials were kind of weak, ur better off ordering a real drink - Food was good - Tuesday nights are festive and great for celebrations - Food is plentiful
google avatar

Beth M.

Yelp
This place is very different because it represents the change in the neighborhood. The wings were fried very well it just needed a little more sauce on the wings. The taquitos are more like tacos. It could have used a little more shrimp. But overall, this place is a great for happy hour. It has a great vibe and good music. The presentation of the food was perfection. The drinks are amazing and pack a punch.
google avatar

Yelp
Pros -Staff was nice and friendly Cons -Mojitos were bitter -Arroz chaufa was salty - Listed several desserts on the menu but only had 1available and it didn't taste good

Yelp
I wholeheartedly believe in giving people and businesses the benefit of the doubt. So when my husband decided to patronize a local eatery for date night, I immediately went to Yelp to browse through the reviews and I wasn't impressed. In spite of the predominantly negative reviews, we decided to take a chance. So we walked in and waited awkwardly near the door looking for a hostess. A server, who was at the time working behind the bar, greeted us and then escorted us to our table. Unfortunately, the table was wobbly. Despite the plethora of empty tables, hubby didn't want to move. The menu had A LOT of seafood dishes and only one chicken dish, arroz chaufa (Fried rice, eggs, garlic and Chinese onions. Served with a choice of protein) for $15. While the portion was impressive, the flavor fell flat. It was bland and a poor reflection of Peruvian cuisine, which is supposed to be full of spice and life. After all, that is what Latin America is all about. In comparison to the other Peruvian places that I have explored, I was definitely disappointed. The music was too LOUD. I could barely hold a conversation with hubby who was sitting right across for me. I even started getting a headache smh. The ambiance was nice, but the only highlight for me was the 10 percent off your first-time visit and not the food.

Yelp
All the food was fantastic. I'd only been here for the lounge nights, before COVID-19! Peruvian food is always a win! Amazing fusion interpretation of traditional dishes. The Causa and Jalea were super delicious, I also brought home with me a Spicy Margarita which was truly made to please, the strength and love of this business really shined through. Will definitely visit again and again, neighborhood gem!

Yelp
I went to barchaa last Saturday and I had a great time! Service was good and food was delicious. Highly recommended. However if you're looking for a Peruvian restaurant keep in mind that this restaurant is a fusion of Peruvian.

Yelp
Loved it. Drinks were perfect and at that I'm not much of a drinker but I kept the mojitos going. Great staff! And the food was really good. Will go back.

Yelp
I really wanted to be a fan of this place because it looked cool online and they offer brunch. We got food to go and ate it a few minutes later. We got the paella plater, with chofan, a beef empanada, and a side of what was supposed to be rotisserie chicken with yuca fries. I did not enjoy the food at all. The empanada was so greasy the bubbles looked crispy and shiny. The chicken looked like it had a Sazon package on it, skin wasn't good at all. All of the food was super greasy. It can be a lot for someone who doesn't usually eat greasy things. The yuca fries were the best part and ironically the less greasy. The sauce had more the consistency of a dressing but it actually tasted good.
