The Best Restaurants In Oxford - Oxford - The Infatuation

"Whether you’re looking for a 3pm pick-me-up in the form of an iced cinnamon bun or an entire carrot cake loaf to take to a friend’s house, Barefoot is the spot. This Jericho bakery and cafe is all about the sweet treats. The cakes change regularly but you’re likely to find things like loaves of chocolate and raspberry cake, mammoth slices of chocolate peanut butter and banana cake, and pots of tea that encourage serious dilly-dallying. We like to come here when there’s a catch-up to be had, because nothing pairs better with Barefoot’s excellent, not-too-sweet cakes than a lengthy sit-down that doesn’t end until closing. We’re also fans of their North Parade Avenue location where the cakes come in cupcake form and the seating is a little more intimate." - rianne shlebak

Cute little cafe with a great selection of unique baked goods. I always enjoy their cakes. They often have a varied selection, not just standard chocolate and carrot cakes. They're always moist and flavourful. Service is quick. It's quite small and busy but they do take away as well. Good selection of vegan and gluten free options also

The place looks lovely, coffee is good, bakery is fresh (cinnamon buns deserve a special mention and go away quickly in the mornings). There is also a nice offer in the mornings on weekdays which is very pleasant as makes your breakfast significantly cheaper than other coffee shops around. Overall very nice place. One thing I’d like to see improved though is a state of the toilet. As of now it’s quite dirty with soap / toilet paper often missing, which makes the experience much less pleasant the moment you stay long enough to use the loo.

Staff are alway friendly and nice. It's a cute little shop. However, this place is overpriced for the quality you get. A plain croissants should not cost £4.20 for a takeaway. It makes the shop unaffordable to a lot of people. Cakes are a bit too oily for our taste. The coffee is okay, not the best nor the worst. This place could be a lot better.

Very cosy cafe with nice cakes and coffee! The cake portions are usually really generous.

Disappointing. DRY. TASTELESS. Too much sugar. Awful cake. Ordered a cake for my partners birthday however it’s not the cake pictured on the website (note: lack of coconut shavings, frosting and general coverage). Love the brand but disappointed with the result. Refund offered however it rather misses the point where it’s my partners birthday today. I need a cake! Quality; not good enough. Is the cake received the same as the one pictured on your website - no. There is no argument to be had. Poor. [Ref: response - delivery is not relevant. A phone call is also not multiple times - you should have followed up by way of text or email]. Your response and comms have been obnoxious.

A very unique selection of cakes, most of which taste great as long as you buy it in the earlier hours of the morning instead of late in the day, when they’ve been sitting out for a while. Coffee was also good and you can tell the barista was well trained and knew what they were doing. Service was par and it seemed like plenty of people from the Jericho area get their morning brew here. Recommended!

would totally recommend this. cake is superb, coffee is decent and the staff is amazing. they were super friendly, didn’t rush me although i was quite indecisive which of the fantastic looking cakes I should take - vegan options available. also cardamom knots were suuuuper soft, especially loved those. reasonable prices also!

Lovely staff and good service but the cakes were surprisingly dry and the vegan cake almost had no flavour. Having the drinks inside to be with glass rather than plastic will make it better. I love their brownies but also having some outside seatings in the garden will be nicer as well.
