Nice, quaint bar. Friendly environment, large well stocked bar. Good location, parking available, they had a trivia night going on we didn’t know about it but it seemed like a lot of fun and the patrons were engaged.

Google
Love the cushy bar here. It's definitely pricey, but I always splurge to get drinks here when I'm in the area or seeing a movie. I recommend Sunday brunch where you can see live jazz and get two-for-one mimosas. There are also no TVs like there would be in a sports bar, so the atmosphere is typically full of nice conversation.

Google
Great spot before or after a movie. The bartender we had was great. Comfortable chairs and couches. We didn’t eat but the food looked good. Plethora of drink options

Phat Matt (.

Google
Pricy drinks, but you're in the theater. I didn't have any food this time. I did witness people leaving because they couldn't get served. I'm not sure where the staff went, but that's not supposed to happen.

Google
This is a great bar to hang out at whether you are going to see a movie or just wanting to hang out. They have board games and a great atmosphere. Lots of seating here as well although it fills up during trivia on Mondays. The staff here are great, they are quick to remember you and always super nice. I have been coming here for trivia for a while and part of the fun is getting to see the people behind the bar. They also have a good food selection, I enjoy the cauliflower wings and fries.

Google
Love this little bar attached to the Alamo. Good drinks and great service. Fresh stuff and never crowded.

Google
I love trivia, and the trivia host, but every week the service is frustrating and the food orders are wrong more often than right. Raw doughy fried food last night. Often feeling like the staff is put out every time you try to order a drink or food gets old. Start trying to pay your tab early, or you might be there a long time. Even though you over-tip because you want to compensate for being there for trivia (almost two hours) it’s always a weird, hair-on-fire experience. Servers will bring a carafe of water with 6 empty glasses. The carafe doesn’t hold enough water for 6 glasses. It feels like the servers put effort into making it a tough experience. I miss Logan, he was a wonderful server.

Google
The employees are really sweet and caring, they helped me as a vendor by providing tables and chairs for my setup. They offered us free non-alcoholic beverages for the night and helped host an LGBTQ+ event. I love being here and feel appreciated.

Yelp
Wednesday nights are fantastic at Barfly! Every other Wednesday, there is a live, free comedy show in the bar area starting at 8pm. The Wednesdays that are not comedy nights are live TV Game Show nights where you can play Family Feud, Wheel of Fortune, etc. for free and win silly prizes. This also starts at 8pm. These are super fun events to just drop by after a movie at Alamo.

Yelp
So, funny thing . . . I had been wanting to write a review of Barfly for a few years. But, my brain kept having me entering "Bar Fly" (two words), and it could not be found on Yelp. So, with no check-ins, I never received a "write a review" reminder. One of those oddities of life I guess. This place slaps. I only learned that phrase in the last two years, so it still feels odd to say. For those unhip, unaware, or older than me folks, "Slap" is a slang verb meaning "to be excellent or amazing." I guess, this is the new amazeballs, which I actually once enjoyed using as a descriptor. Barfly (yes, as I type it, I keep hearing "Barf-Lee", which is less than appetizing), is great. This is the lounge/big bar/small stage/event area just to the left as you walk in to the Alamo Drafthouse Cinema Sloans Lake. Which is my favorite place to see films. If you do not like Alamo Drafthouse, you are probably one of those terrible human beings who enjoy talking and texting during films. Which if you did not know, may be fine for your living room, but is trash behavior in a movie theatre. Feel free to fight me on this. Barfly has comedy. It has game show night. It hosts groups showing horror films. It has live music. It has trivia. It has drag queen bingo (hmmm, why is there no "drag queen trivia"?). It has a full bar with solid beer offerings. It has the entire Alamo theatre menu available. It has hard working staff members (Rae and Sam are extra awesome). It has varied seating (stools, chairs -- both high & low, leather armchairs and couches). It has big televisions. It . . . it . . . it . . . slaps.

Yelp
Of all the times I've visited Alamo Drafthouse, it's wild that I've only been to Barfly once. So cool that they host trivia nights and other events here. Haven't tried the food, though I imagine it's from the same kitchen as the theater side. The beer selection and customer service are good. My friends and I sat at the bar pre-show and enjoyed our beverages, then brought them into the theater. What a life we live!

Yelp
If your looking for a chill day or night to hangout watch the game go to boombox brew for some delicious food music and drinks the staff here is amazing I was welcomed right away got seated I order me a burgers and got it within minutes i would recommend coming here again

Yelp
How Alamo Drafthouse does a bar. A lot of reviews are mentioning poor service. Not something I have experienced but I know it happens. Staff turns over. New bar management etc. Events where staff forget patrons etcetera. Great location near Sloan's Lake, Edgewater, and Colfax. Lot of foot traffic and the outdoor seating is nice when the weather cooperates. Sit around the bar or at one of the few smaller tables available. Depending on the day you'll find more or less seating. If you're looking for a quieter bar come earlier or try Pandora's Box up at the Westminster Alamo. They host live music, Bingo, Geeks who Drinks, and other shows so be sure to check the calendar. Large rotating selection of beers. Many local and a healthy amount of cocktails and wine options. Special drinks for films being shown and you can order food at the bar if you like. Open fairly late so it's a nice before or after movie spot. Even just a place to grab a drink before moving on to your next adventure.

Yelp
"I adore trivia nights and our charismatic host, but navigating the service here is like trying to solve a riddle. Ordering food requires a strategic battle plan, and even then, it's a toss-up whether you'll receive what you asked for. Prepare for a culinary rollercoaster - fried food will be doughy, sometimes you'll get a kid's amount of fries, other times you'll hit the motherlode - every once in awhile you'll get what you ordered. Some of the people at your six top to wonder when/if their order is coming. You will all order at the same time, but you will not eat at the same time. And don't expect the plates to magically disappear, despite spending almost two hours here for trivia, you will sit with piled plates until you leave. Yet, despite the chaos, I still leave tips generously (I love trivia, it only seems fair to leave extra) we usually get a popcorn refill - it's the highlight of the night! Plus, occasionally we get our soft drinks in the big movie theater cups, which is great because asking for a refill is not fun with this hair-on-fire staff. I like the art on the walls. This place doesn't feel like part of a chain, it feels like a quirky dive bar.

Yelp
Giving Barfly 3 stars for the cool lounge like feel with lots of events but 2 stars for the service. The place wasn't busy and it took almost 15 minutes before the gal came over to get my order, then another several minutes for my drink to arrive. I might come back here but probably only for a movie.

Yelp
My partner and I go to this bar weekly for geeks who drink trivia. The trivia is fun, but we continue to go here instead of other GWD trivia nights because we love Barfly. The place is cute, the food is delicious, and the bartenders and service staff are super friendly. Our only complaint is that it's getting so popular we have to go early to get seats!

Yelp
Barfly is a fun spot to hit up for Happy Hour or before you go into the theater for a movie! Service tends to be spotty if you sit in the lounge, but if you're able and willing to sit at the bar, that's where the best service is. We most recently came for Happy Hour, and their prices are reasonable. I'm a gin girl, so their Blackened Bramble in my go-to drink, but I recently tried The Aviation, which was equally as good. The bartender was awesome and recommended trying it with the lavender gin, which was phenomenal. I highly recommend checking out Barfly!

Yelp
We grabbed a drink here before our movie. The place is neat inside and has a lot of good character. Our server told us there was live music as well - a jazz and blues band on a recent Saturday night. There is a great rotating beer selection - something for everyone - and a nice selection of cocktails. Mine was a bit sweet for my liking - I ordered the Printemps and it was pretty sweet due to the strawberry. Overall this is a great place before or after the movie, or just to come relax and listen to music.

Yelp
Wow. Never thought I'd get thought policed at a bar. First of all, the sixty year old tattooed bully bartender yelled at us for getting water which was set up like it was a help yourself situation next to where we were sitting and complained at us for several minutes about doing so before making us terrible drinks and telling me not to talk about a movie that wasn't even showing at the theatre. I looked forward to going to this theatre for years and this was a terrible first impression. Get better staff. Skip the bar, go straight to the movie where the people who are working actually care about their jobs.

Yelp
I had a really bad experience but instead writing a review I went back in the next day and talked with a manager. I made sure to tell him I didn't want a refund I just wanted to keep going there knowing that I wasn't holding any resentment. The manager addressed the issue and gave me some concessions to use at a later date. I truly felt like he cared to fix the problem. PS - your Buffalo cauliflower is fantastic!

Yelp
Came here on a Friday night for the music. Had no idea it was attached to Alamo Drafthouse- Sloan's Lake. Easy to get to, some/limited parking. Pros: attentive staff. Delicious snacks. Great set up and acoustics. POPCORN (get the herbed topping). Comfy set up. Cons: drinks were only ok (mine was super strong/medicinal tasting, my friend's was too sweet). I'd come back for another live music event, or maybe an intimate stand up routine. And the POPCORN.

Yelp
Good vibes, good live music, comfy seats, good deals. They bring the receipts in little books like a bookmark.

Yelp
SUNDAY JAZZ BRUNCH!!!! Folks, on Sundays 11am-2p Barfly (in the Alamo) hosts a 4 piece jazz band that's one of my favorite local acts in the Denver/Boulder metro area. These guys are seasoned pros, and it's truly something I look forward to all week. I rarely miss a show (no cover) and Barfly (the bar inside the Alamo theatre the band plays in) offers a wide selection of food, makes mean cocktails and has an incredible beer selection. The waitstaff is also very friendly. If you're looking for something to do on a Sunday, and/or have folks in town this is THE PLACE to take them and yourself. Kudos to the Alamo for bringing these guys in every week to kick off the ULTIMATE Sunday Funday!! *Their film selections are usually top notch as well! Happiness...

Yelp
I want so bad for this place to be okay. One of the few places I can walk to from the pad. The ambience is great and prices okay, but service... come on now. Like I'm at McDonald's. Bartender dude's social skills nil. We can do better West Colfax.

Yelp
Went here to see The Devils Workshop which was hilarious and awesome. Great service. Comfortable decor/seating. Didn't have any of the food but will try some next time.

Yelp
We bought "standing room only" tickets, and told we could sit at the bar. After having sat down at the bar and ordered we were asked to move because we were blocking others view. Needs a better seating arrangment or just don't make people move based on thier height. #bornthisway

Yelp
We live nearby. Stopped in. Just to have a drink or two. We sat at the bar for a good 10 minutes before we where offered anything. Place was pretty empty and some hipster band was warming up. Extremely expensive. Bartender wasn't seen again. Yeah. We moved on to Sloans Tap & Burger where our money is appreciated.

Yelp
Really enjoyed Barfly!! Ventured out on a Saturday night to watch the Blues band! Came early to eat, food was similar to theater (if not sale menu), but it was fresh. I ordered a burger with a gluten free bun and could tell it was fresh. Fries were hot, everything was great! My husband got a chicken sandwich and thought it was awesome. Great cocktail selection with really great liquor options. Loved the boutique selections. Appreciated this is a sophisticated bar with great cocktails, not the typical sugar laden crap in theaters! Staff is on point!! Had a live band that was rockin!

Yelp
Check their schedule. So many fun things going on here. Drag Queen Bingo, Geeks who Drink, Paint and Sip. My 11 neighbors and I walked over this past week to do some paint and sip. Painted a pint glass while enjoying food and drink. Always a great time here.

Yelp
Awesome craft beer and cocktail selection, free live music and other entertainment. A really classy joint with something for everyone.

Yelp
The food is alright and the staff is friendly. They have a lot of events on their calendar and it's cool that there is a movie theater. It's super expensive, my iced tea was $4.50. Overall I wouldn't necessarily recommend it but it's not a bad place to grab a drink.

Brianna S.

Yelp
I've been coming to Barfly for a few years now and it's always been on my favorites list. The popcorn, buffalo cauliflower, and the cocktails are worth becoming a regular. I really enjoy that their kitchen is open until 12 as we often eat late. It is a great place to meet with a big group or just one or two people.

Yelp
I had such high hopes for this place. Good bands and good crowds. It is great to have live music in the neighborhood. But the surly bartenders and the terribly slow delivery of food is very disappointing.

Yelp
I took my teenage son to see a movie and since we were early, we visited the Barfly to get a drink. I went up the bar to order a beer and a soda and it took forever to get service. Once I finally did, the bartender took my simple order and then proceeded to forget about it. I waited and waited and finally had to remind her. She brought over the beer and rang it up, but then I had to remind her about the soda, which again took forever to get, and then I had to wait for her to ring up the new ticket with the soda on it. It wasn't even that busy in there at the time. 15 minutes and $13.50 later, I finally had the two drinks. Really disappointing considering I love the Alamo Drafthouse as a theater.
