My husband and I adopted Titan now Hank from Barking Dog Farm Rescue. We are so grateful we found this rescue. We instantly fell in love. Hank is literally the kindest, gentlest, most loving, sweetest, silliest, goofiest, happinesses dog we’ve ever met and we have both met lots of dogs in our life. He loves people more than anything. When we take him out he goes up to every stranger to say hi, he doesn’t have an aggressive or mean bone in his body. We feel so lucky to be able to have him in our lives! If we ever have the opportunity to adopt another dog this will be the place we go.

I love Leslie and Barking Dog Farm. We rescued Luci Lou f/k/a Cassie. She is the sweetest, softest and smart for 3 mos. Her ice blue eyes make your heart melt. Thank you so much Leslie for helping us with Luci Lou.

Be very cautious with this rescue organization. I fully believe that their hearts are in the right place. They clearly care passionately for these dogs, however, their professionalism is greatly lacking, so much so that I cannot give a rating above 1 star. Both the owner and the volunteer who processed our application were kind and responsive until they decided we were not worthy to adopt. After that, we were cut off completely. As you can see with other reviews, if you are chosen, you can expect to be treated with kindness and have a great experience. However, if you are not chosen you cannot expect kindness or respect. Do not even expect to be told why you weren’t chosen. You will receive a one line email: “We are not moving forward with your application.” Despite having been open and honest and spending a great deal of time and effort to provide them every piece of information they requested (and more), expect your requests to understand why you weren’t chosen to be ignored. Your requests to speak to their concerns about vet care for your other pets, will be ignored. However appropriate your reasons may be, they won’t care. It is cruel and unprofessional. I have been around animals my whole life. I have a BS in Animal Science. I worked in a vets office for many years. I’ve had many pets and adored each and every one. Our family is a doting family of animal lovers. Our pets are cared for with the best of care. Unfortunately, there are some special circumstances where not all the vaccines and yearly visits were kept up with, at times. This organization does not care about having a conversation or attempting to understand those circumstances. Everything is black and white. It’s very sad. I hope that reading this will encourage them to remember to not only have compassion and understanding for these amazing animals but, also for the humans that want to rescue them. A listening ear and an open heart goes a long way. Not every situation will be a match. That’s ok but, having compassion and not judgement and harshness is the mark of a true caring heart. I pray Leslie and her volunteers will reconsider the way they treat those that want to rescue these beautiful dogs, especially when the answer has to be no.

Fantastic rescue! Very caring and responsible. Super responsive to inquiries and mindful about matching the right dog with the right family. I will continue to adopt from this rescue and support them in any way that I can. My only regret is that I live a little too far away to volunteer for their pack walks.

Just rescued our pup from these guys the other day. Everyone we talked too was super helpful and supportive. They even helped us find a good match. I see some comments about people being denied for no reason. I don't under the anger. These people are trying to make sure these disadvantaged dogs are free finding good and secure homes with access to proper medical care. Any perceived strictness in requirements is purely for the dog's well-being. Anyway, we were super happy to work with them and would recommend them to anyone looking for a new furry family member

Amazing rescue! Leslie clearly cares about the dogs. We’ve adopted two wonderful fur babies from her and love them !

Don’t bother if you don’t have a fenced in yard ! I have a 14 acre vt Farm and that’s what great Pyrenees love and respond to. Would you rather I have a tiny apartment with a fenced in yard? Our dogs go on hikes and work with my husband outside. A dog cannot have a better life! You are the most judgmental dog person I have encountered. that’s too bad…

We were scolded and treated like garbage when owner learned that we had to put down our last dog in his 15th year due to serious health decline. I recently commented on a Facebook post of theirs listing the dog we tried to adopt as still not in a home. I said he was an amazing dog and I couldn't believe he hadn't found a home yet. I was blocked from the page.. Owner is more about using the dogs for donations rather than doing what's best for the animals. There's much better places out there that need help, I'd recommend skipping this place. Edit: In their response below they claim I was leaving negative comments. This is a false statement, I commented that we were denied for this dog but he was an amazing dog that shouldn't have any trouble finding a home. We couldn't provide vet records because the dog was put down ten years ago and the vet did not have records that far back. It is perfectly legal to humanly euthanize a dog in Vermont in the manner we had. I explained the reasons for what was done and expressed how much that animal meant to me. Again, there are many quality rescues out there with proper accommodations for the pets in their care. I am simply letting people know that this particular one is less than stellar.
