The 8 Best Hostels in London (Updated 2025)

"I consistently had a good night's sleep here—perhaps because of the memory foam mattresses and cushy pillows—and the beds each have reading lights, USB plugs, and power sockets. A nice breakfast of cereals and fresh fruit is included, there's free coffee and tea all day (and free printing), and they sometimes host BBQs and other events." - Matthew Kepnes

As a solo traveler this place felt like being welcomed home. Super clean, very easy-going and the beds are comfy . The rooms and common areas are kept really tidy, and I appreciated that the staff genuinely cared about where I had been and where I was going . The bunk had fast charging plugs and USB ports, which meant I could charge my phone and headphones without fighting for outlets. The vibe is laid-back and very homely, which makes it a great spot to meet other travelers without feeling unwelcome or alone. Earl's Court station is just down the road and you can get anywhere in the city easily within an hour. Friendly staff, good atmosphere, and really comfortable beds—can’t ask for much more. Thanks for the hospitality guys will definitely come back whenever I get back to London.

Stayed for 5 nights during peak summer and couldn’t have asked for a better location for the price as a first time visitor to London! Beds were firm foam mattresses (pretty comfy!) and the 6-bed female dorm had our own bathroom. It did get a bit warm but there were windows with plenty of fresh breeze that cooled the place down at night. Place was very tidy and clean, other guests staying were also super considerate with quiet hours being observed after 11pm. The kitchen is very well equipped with Sainsbury just a 2 min walk down the road which allowed me to cook basic meals while I stayed there. Location is hard to beat with Earl Court station just 10min walk away. Thanks Ken and Liz for continuing to provide such a reasonably priced haven for budget travellers! If I had to stay in London I’d definitely book here again.

The hostel’s location is great — it’s about a 5–6 minute walk to the metro. The neighborhood is lively, and there are shops open at night nearby. The room we stayed in was clean, though the lighting was a bit poor. Even though the bathroom was shared, it was generally clean throughout our stay. The only downside was that they only accepted cash, which was a bit of an issue — they should definitely allow credit card payments as well

I stayed here in Summer 2024 and still think about how nice this place was compared to other hostels! Firstly, such a lovely host! The host is so welcoming and she gave me lots of ideas of things to do in the area. The bunks were secure, solid wood and wider than normal bunks, the host mentioned they had been made specifically for the rooms. I was in a female only form with six beds and the bathroom was clean and had great shower pressure. Lovely big window letting fresh air and light in! Really close to the tube and it felt like a safe area. There is a McDonald’s, Jollibee and bars nearby. I left another hostel to come to this one and it was the best decision. Book through the hostel rather than HostelWorld. Don’t choose any other hostel in London - this is the one!

I stayed for 3 nights mid-July. I got stung around 50 times by bed bugs. When I came back home, I found a dead bug in my suitcase and felt itchy on my arms and legs. I will certainly have to pay for a professional service to eradicate the bugs in my apartment if there are still eggs/bugs (> 800€).

Good hostel but they need to throw out the dirty duvets. Got bug bites after staying there. The mattress seem bed bug proof so it must be from the dirty old duvets they let lying around that the guests must put covers on themselves

Very pleased with this hostel! We stayed in a 6 bed room. There were lockers to keep your personal things in the room and a bathroom in the room. There were extra comunal bathrooms available to use in case your room one was occupied, which came in handy several times. Beds were pretty firm but you learn how to get comfortable. The kitchen was nice with a simple breakfast. There was a TV room to read and lounge with games and books. We felt the location was very convenient and the staff were so helpful! I asked if they could oil our bathroom door to make it less squeaky and they kindly fixed it :) Would recommend staying here if you’re looking for a chill environment!

The room was clean, environment quiet and most striking to me was the very kind and helpful personnel. The kitchen was always well kept and tidy. I also enjoyed the very close proximity to the Earl's Court Train Station and various bus stations as well.
