Barnaby's Cafe

First time at Barnaby’s Cafe. I was recommended the Chicken La Jolla. The chicken La Jolla with the pesto was very good. The black beans and rice was also good. The portion of the plate was huge. Definitely can make it 2-3 meals. The Mac and Cheese was really good and cheesy, however, the price is $8 for a small portion, so i wouldn’t recommend unless you just want to spend $8 on a side that would cost maybe $4-5 at other restaurants. My girlfriend had the guacamole cheeseburger and she said it was really good. She got it cooked medium. The burger and fries were also a generous portion and she only ate half and took half to go. Would definitely recommend this place, and I will be back to try other menu items.

Such great service. Everyone was attentive and constantly working around the restaurant. Food was great but I was overwhelmed with all the options. We're already planning our second visit since this 1st one was a little rushed due to work. I enjoy a good torta and they offer a few different kinds.

Barnaby’s is our comfort food spot. We love the burgers and service! On Thursdays, you get a free bottle of house wine with two entrees. Tuesdays, they have $4 beer and wine. This is our neighborhood place - we could not love it more!

I love that there's a dog menu here! And for $6 my pupper got lunch and dinner for later. Of course, also her own bowl of ice water! Whereas my Cobb salad was fresh, enormous, and absolutely delicious. It was my lunch and will also be my dinner! Today was a perfect day to sit outdoors and lunch with friends and my pup. I love this place!

Great service, delicious food with decent portions, and aesthetically pleasing atmosphere. Took the crew here for lunch and it was the perfect meal to relax and cool down. 5/5 stars, Absolutely would recommend!

I love Barnaby's. My favorite meal is the Chopped Chef Salad. It is huge and stuffed with everything. Their in house made honey mustard is the best dressing to top it with. They also have some really good chocolate chip cookies freshly made. Delicious! I drive 30 minutes just to get their salad, I highly recommend it. The club sandwich is also really good it comes with fries. If you haven't been yet, you must stop by. They do have order online and pickup just in case you stay too far for delivery. The service is always good and thd staff is really nice.

The service was great! The food was delicious. The ladies room was clean, and they had complimentary mouth wash with disposable cups available too. Fancy! There's also a baby changer. Plenty of parking! The inside of the restaurant is spacious. Lovely decorations. I tried their Luna pepperoni pizza and it was tasty! I ordered for myself the meatloaf with grilled asparagus - the sauce on the meatloaf was sweeter than I'm used to but the meatloaf was very savory so it was a nice combination of flavors. Great servings! Had leftovers for a couple days. Will return soon!

Great service and great food. They have a full bar and the sandwich I ordered came with homemade potato chips. I could have made a meal out of them they were delicious! The sandwich I split with a friend it had a large amount of chicken salad definitely enough for two people or take home for the next day. When going back into Houston will go again.

The staff here is amazing! Everyone at the Fairview location is so nice! The quality of the food is wonderful and it all tastes sooo good! Loved their chips and they were served hot! Never worry about what you order its ALL delicious!

Love barnabys but I ordered the baby brownie a la mode and I didn't receive the ice cream that's supposed to be included. Be sure to check your orders

Their salads are so good!! Also, I'm not usually a sweet potato fan but theirs are actually really yummy and worth the try :D

Stopped by for brunch with my friend and his kids and the host was very off-putting from the moment we walked in. They dismissed us until I spoke up as if they couldn't see us standing there. Then tried to sit us by the bathroom, with two kids, which was an absolute NO. We asked to be seated in the "patio" area and ordered right before brunch was over. The food had no taste and the service sucked. Our waiter was decent and the only polite person there but the experience overall was upsetting. You'd think people would be nicer especially when they see you with kids. Sigh.

How have I not reviewed my local Barnaby's yet?! We live nearby and have been regular diners since they opened this locale. We love it, our daughter loves it, dogs love it, everyone loves it. Since it's newer than the rest, the interior is a bit fresher, the paint a bit brighter, and the décor is a bit more modern than some of the old staples. Beyond the interior, there's plenty of outdoor cafe seating, and they're VERY dog friendly. The food has always been great, and the portions are massive! If you order a full sized salad, prepare to eat salad for that meal and 1-2 leftover meals to follow. You can split most dishes with a tablemate and be equally full, FYI. They also offer beer and wine, and have a happy hour on Tuesdays where they're all $3. (Check if that's still happening if this is an old review. Hello future!) The servers have always been prompt and friendly. They're happy to help navigate the menu, take special requests, and after a couple visits, you quickly feel like a welcomed regular. If you're looking for a fantastic casual bite, keep this and any other location of Barnaby's on your list.

Really enjoyed eating here! Came during pride month and they had pride flags all over the place, which I enjoyed. Not sure if they have them all the time or just during June though. The servers were also very nice. The food always good! Fries were well seasoned and the chicken was juicy and flavorful. I also really enjoyed the cinnamon apple side!

I typically like barnays lunch, so today I decided to try the breakfast. It's a no! I ordered the petite steak med rare and got well done. My friend ordered the burger med and got well done. So if you go to the location the only temp they cook the meat is well done.

Maybe I didn't eat what they're known for. Maybe I had what they're really bad at making. I don't know. I had the barbecue chicken with fries and a Mediterranean rice. It was bland and apparently their version of Mediterranean rice is dry. Now to be fair that was a substitution for something else-but on its own it should have been better than that. The barbecue chicken was in quality-wonderful. But the "barbecue" on it was just cheap bbq sauce smeared thickly on. The fries it came with were definitely frozen from a bag, though plentiful. My child's meal was not much better. I paid $38 for this and for strawberry lemonade (which was awesome). I think for this price I could literally have gone anywhere else, and had better food. When they excelled was in service and ambiance. Above and beyond fabulous service.

The food is usually pretty solid here. The fries were a little undercooked for my liking & too salty but still decent. The pesto chicken salad sandwich is always a hit though. Service was quick and I love that they have a dog friendly patio. Some of the items on the menu are a tad over priced but their portions are pretty large. One big complaint I have is that they only have canned soda, no fountain drinks.

Excellent food, service, and ambience. I also appreciate their celebration of Pride Month. I'll definitely return!

The carrot cake here is the absolute best. We traditionally buy the whole cake here and have been coming here for quite some time. If you'd like a whole cake, make sure to order it a few days in advance. I'd reckon better than Truluck's as it's not as sweet. Yes I said it, prove me wrong.

I'm in utter shock I've never reviewed this place, even though we've been coming here since it opened (and for a decade to the other locations!). It's a bit cleaner and fresh-looking than the other locations. Always loved the staff here, and the menu even more. My kids love Barnaby's too! Their honey mustard is made in-house and my favorite sauce for all the things! Their burgers are great. My favorite salad is the fattoush, and the brownies and carrot cake are never a disappointment!

I love this place. My favorite salad ever and so many good choices!! I love the Chinese chicken salad! They're sweet potato fries are amazing.

We have been going here forever and continue to drop in when we are in town. I LOVE the Bryan's club sandwich and the burgers, I haven't had anything I didn't like. I do wish they would bring back the Italian cream cake . I'm a huge fan!

I've been going to Barnaby's - this location and others - and it's usually a good experience. Unfortunately I cannot recommend after this latest dinner experience. I'm vegetarian and this usually isn't a problem. I ordered their lasagna and as soon as it hits the table there's meat in it. The server then mentions Barnaby's no longer serves the veggie version. I request an Impossible patty burger. The rest of my dining party finishes eating by the time I get my burger. And it's a regular burger, not alternative meat patty. I wasn't told this until I had taken a bite. By this time I'm deeply upset, and honestly I don't trust any staff to respect my health concerns or dietary restrictions. They did offer to bring me another meal, which I didn't finish (veggie pizza) and tossed later. Overall, I would have liked to send a note to management to ask that better procedures be put in place for serving clients with dietary restrictions, but there isn't a place for that on their website. It was an upsetting experience and will not return for future visits.

Second visit - excellent service and good food We had sweet potato fries as an appetizer, then a "small" Cobb salad and the ribeye steak with asparagus. Still needed a box to take home some salad We will probably come here more often.

Barnaby's is always a 5/5. The food, atmosphere, and service are great. This was my first time at this location.

This is not a real location of Barnaby's. There is an abridged menu of what you may accustomed to for this place. The service is fine and the ambiance gets most of the way there but the food... I git the green eggs with asparagus and they were pretty bland and unseasoned. My wife the chicken breast decent but not a whole lot of flavor. The fries were not up to Barnaby's standard. This must be said: This location is exactly how a great restaurant ruins its reputation. Too many locations and losing site of the quality. Either get this place back up to Barnaby's proper level or CLOSE IT. People that are old enough.... Remember Ninfas?

Do not dine in at this location. Order to go if you must. They prioritize Togo orders over people dining in and are stupid enough to tell you this. We waited a ridiculous amount of time for our food to come out and they completely forgot my husband's burger, despite my husband ordering a specific burger and the waiter asking questions about it. We didn't want to wait another 30 min to make a burger so my husband said "she will just have hers and forget the other burger." But they didn't give me any condiments and I was so disgusted at this point we just left. The lemonades are good, and maybe it's just this location that needs to get its act together. I always had a good experience at the location on shepherd, but it's been years since I've been there.

Love this place. Been in Houston 5 years and just now came across this place. It is the best of the best. Good, Service and Atmosphere. My favorite is the Clubhouse Sandwich but the burgers are great as well.

On Saturday shopping for my wedding dress, my mom and I decided to grab a bite at this Barnaby's location. I typically frequent the location in Montrose and I'm never disappointed. This experience however was full of disappointments. We sat at a outside table for about 10mins which noone addressed us. I went to the hostess stand to get assistance. Finally he came and took our order, water and turkey burgers. We then waited almost 25 mins for our order which I had to continually inquire about with our waiter. We waited an additional 10 mins to finally get dry and burnt turkey burgers. Our waiter apologized and claimed the manager was aware however the manager never approached us to apologize for the delay. I could understand if it was a busy Saturday but it wasn't. Customer Service and communication was piss poor as well as the food. Definitely will not be returning.

I ordered the chicken fattoush salad for delivery and the chicken was burnt and bitter. It was so bad! I was extremely disappointed.

The initial ticket was for $xx.xx. The amount charged to my credit card before tip was $xx.xx + $10. All I can say is always be careful, especially here at Barnaby's on Fountain View. Note: it could have been a simple mistake as they said it was, but the last time this happened to me was 1975, and I caught the "error" then too.

$30 for a mimosa and scramble eggs with bacon and spinach? No thank you. Service was alright.

I like all of the Barnaby's Cafes I've tried. My favorite is the one on West Gray near the intersection with Taft. The ambiance is casual and comfortable. The service is excellent. The food is delicious. Their burgers and lasagna are my favorite entrees accompanied by their fresh strawberry lemonade followed by the carrot cake or the chocolate cake. Everything I've eaten at all of my regular Barnaby's has been at least good. I highly recommend Barnaby's!

I love Barnaby's & was very happy to see this location was open. Slowly getting back into the office, not sure how long this place has been here. I met up with a friend for lunch & we agreed on this place as I love their salads. For this visit I opted for the Chinese Chicken Salad which did not dissapoint with lettus greens topped with shredded chicken breast, carrots, red cabbage tossed in a honey/lime vin & spicy peanit dressing. I opted to have the tortilla strips taken off because, ew. The half portion was extremely huge & I could not finish this belly satifying salad. My friend opted for the Lebanese Chicken Fattoush Salad which looked insanely good (note to self, order that the next time). The restaurant had plenty of seating with some brave souls eating outside. The staff were very friendly & service was prompt.

I love the way the new restaurant looks... BUT I was a frequent customer at the old location on woodway. The service here does not compare, the servers do no know the menu well enough to even be serving it and answering questions on it. I ordered the Coronado beef and asked them to remove the tomatoes and chives, the waiter brought out my order with those toppings on it... when asked to remove them he seemed to no understand and came back with only the tomatoes picked off and chives still on there, there were still tomatoes pushed under the fries. They also did not even care to melt the cheese on top of the meat... no body wants cold cheese. I might just be hormonal and dramatic but it's no nearly as well tended as the old restaurant! My boyfriend also ordered the mac n cheese, he saw me writing this upset review and laughed saying his Mac taste weird. I taste it and it literally taste like cream paste and not in a good way (if there even is a good way) it made him sick to his stomach and is convinced it's just sour cream and noodles... I'm repulsed by the quality of service and food. The workers are just sitting around a table folding napkins and starring at us... very awkward situation and super disappointed in the establishment.

Great spot for casual dining! We went to grab lunch with family during our trip to Houston. Parking is easy as they're located in a plaza. We had no wait time and staff was very attentive. I ordered the bacon and blue burger and the falafel burger. Both incredible choices although if you had to choose between one or the other I would choose the falafel. They offer regular Fries, waffle fries, and sweet potato fries. Tried the regular which were good but not great, and the sweet potato fries which were amazing For dessert I recommend the brownie with vanilla ice cream, amazing choice. Burger cooked to perfection and very big plates. Go when you're very hungry! They have games outside for kids and a relaxed ambience. We went during lunch time.

Have you ever found a place that makes you feel so calm and happy when you are there? Barnaby's is definitely that for me - from the colorful and playful pooch inspired decor to the amazingly attentive and friendly staff, this place can do no wrong. And I haven't even commented on the food yet! The portions here are HUGE. We came for breakfast and I tried the breakfast plate - can't go wrong with a medley of breakfast favorites! There was so much food it was silly. The plate came with eggs, biscuits, potatoes, and sausage - yum! My friend got the bacon waffle and she loved it as well. On top of all this, the prices are very reasonable and you will almost certainly leave with leftovers.

I called to place a delivery order. Eddy answered the phone, I started talking saying "Hello, I want to place an order", and he hung up on me.

I came to this restaurant because I noticed they served plant based burgers, I ordered the impossible burger with French fries and a lemonade the total came to 20.57 after tax , I don't tip when I'm going to a place to order a simple burger waste of money in. My opinion, two days later my debit card is negative because someone at the restaurant forged a tip to my bill after I done signed it , so now I'm negative in my account and that restaurant committed a crime which is fruad.

Stopped in for a light lunch yesterday afternoon. Really enjoyed Barnaby's! Staff was quick and friendly. Seating was a little odd & messy but I'll chalk that up to COVID. I had the Pesto Chicken Salad with Artichoke Hearts Sandwich with a side house salad instead of chips. The salad was kind of a high up charge for the substitution but honestly worth it for the size & taste, the honey mustard was awesome. And I had never had a chicken salad recipe that included pesto but I really liked it too! Cool little diner/cafe that is dog friendly!

What Barnaby's is now even closer to my job!!!! I can't even handle it. Please take all my lunch money. This new location is really cute and super fancy inside. I like to come on my lunch break for the Cobb Salad. It's amazing and so big I always get to have some left over for lunch tomorrow. Lol it's like a buy one get one free almost every time. The portions are really big so they're great to share. Chips and queso is always amazing. And the pesto chicken sandwich is really good. Service is always great and friendly.

Great food and amazing service! They always go out of their way to make either your pick up order or dine in fantastic. They just go that extra mile. And with great food, how can they not be everyone's favorite!

This location is amazing! Pet friendly and staff is wonderful. The food menu has something for everyone, and they have a little menu for dogs. My husband and I went on Saturday and shared the Chicken Burrito. I'm glad we shared, because it was a TON of food. There's two stuffed burritos with chicken, black beans and rice. Served with salsa and guacamole. Very filling! Reasonably priced and tastes amazing. There are several locations and we will definitely be going back to try other menu items.

Not only were my chips not in my to go order from last week. (which i understood, people forget sometimes) But to open my to go order TODAY to see a whole different sandwich just ultimately confirmed that i won't be coming to this location anymore

Absolutely love this spot! I decided to stop in for a salad cause I was hungry. I called in my order and it was ready in ten minutes. The restaurant suggested the House Vinegarette dressing. All dressings are homemade and it was so good. My only suggestion would be to place the croutons on the side because they are hidden in the salad. The next day they are soft and not tasty. This salad was definite enough for two full servings so it is worth the $14. Overall I would come try the salad and modify. I either had a Cobb salad or a House Salad. I removed the egg and ham and substituted for Turkey. That Turkey and chicken was awesome. I will definitely be back. You would be disappointed.

Love Barnabys!! The wait staff are so polite and helpful about explaining the menu and suggestions. We love being able to walk there for an evening meal or a brunch on the patio with our pooch.

I get to-go here a few times a month. The menu is pretty common normal American food. Everything is pretty good. The French fries are pretty amazing, especially if you order them extra crispy because they are nice and thin. I've had their French dip, which is usually very good. Their chicken tenders are great, Mac and cheese is good. This place is also good for kids meals - not much more than fast food kids meals but WAY higher quality food you get. Lots of kids choices. The patio is dog friendly which is nice. Usually see some other dogs. The staff is always friendly and helpful. Never had a wrong order out of probably a dozen orders.

Great social distancing with some tables blocked by stuffed animals. I ordered an egg salad sandwich. It's not egg salad. Unfortunately, it's just crumbled eggs. The sandwich has too much egg. Since it's not salad, it's flavorless. You get a choice of different sides which is good. I received a generous amount of broccoli. The place is beautiful inside. I ordered a mini brownie with ice cream which is on special for $1. See my photos for the egg sandwich. While it's decorated cutely, it's not salad.

This was my first time at this Barnaby's location and the customer service was mediocre and the server was not enthusiastic and he seemed to be in a rush.. me and my wife ordered a medium rare classic burger and received a well done and partly burnt patty. The service overall was disappointing. Would not recommend this location. I would recommend the woodway location.

So as much as I love and I do mean love Barnabys and their food, I can't give a 5 star and here is why. I have been going to all of the locations for over 12 years and I could eat here daily. However, the prices and service have really gone down. So I have always ordered a half salad, because their salads are huge! Huge! And they are so tasty. So my husband and I both got half salads. When I got my bill, they literally took 2$ off the full price! Seriously? That's not how it was or should be. If I want a half of a salad, I should be charged half or even 8$, like I used to pay. Now I understand prices change and times have changed but taking 2$ off the price for a half, isn't right. I am a huge fan of this place and I'm sad that this change isn't right because I won't be going back any time soon, because that's a little pricey for a half of a salad, when the full salad is 15$. I sure hope someone reads this and fixes it. As far as the service goes, it was horrible. I've never seen more servers standing around, talking and no service to the customers. I had to flag down someone to take our order and then half of our order never came. Please guys, get it together.

When to Barnaby's because they have a nice outdoor area, and want to social distance from others. Also, went to Barnaby's because they have vegan options. The Impossible burger was great and the server John was very nice! My friend had the salmon and he loved it! I would have taken a picture of the food, but the heat champagne distracted me . I would highly recommend, I f you want to feel normal during these crazy times.

My wife loves this place. I liked it just fine. I think I need to try it more fresh than taking it home.

Always a bit too loud, but their food is fantastic! I love their pesto chicken salad on a bed of lettuce (instead of as a sandwich). To die for!
