I'm devastated that this place is closing and a breakfast chain is taking its place. BarnBurner will close its doors the day before Easter 2023. Now is your chance to go and try everything on their incredible menu before it's too late! Don't miss the angel food cake French toast - it's light and sinfully delicious! The pesto omelette is a unique combination of shredded veggies, quinoa, sundried tomatoes, feta and pesto enveloped in a fluffy egg blanket topped with fresh avocado and pine nuts! The flavor is superb! Also a must-try is the biscuits and gravy. The biscuits are delectable and melt-in-your-mouth good served with a generous amount of the creamiest gravy I've ever had! I'm still salivating just thinking about it. Lastly, do not leave without trying the tater tots. They're crispy on the outside and just perfectly hot and tender on the inside. Yum! Yum! Yum! I also don't want to forget to mention that the staff is extremely friendly. The owner served us and she was excellent! They made sure to check on us often and they continued to make sure to refill our coffee mugs. P.S. They have an extensive mimosa flavor combinations too! So stop reading this post and go there now!

Google
Would highly recommend the chicken & waffles it was delicious I'd definitely return for that dish. The biscuits and gravy were also a favorite. I would recommend the tots over the rosemary potatoes

Google
Delicious brunch place with a great atmosphere. They have a healthy tots craze and offer unique twists like their angel food cake french toast!

Google
The food was amazing and the presentation was fabulous. I love how it was animal friendly and that there was multiple things to do and to look at. There was so much creativity put into the place. The service was fast, and not really any wait time. It felt like the food only took eight minutes to prepare. I also just have to add that the seats inside are SO SOFT. I LOVE Barn Burger and will for sure come back.

Courtney Smith

Google
This place is awesome. Great atmosphere, even better food. Super clean, Bloody Mary is excellent. Service is so great, everyone seems to genuinely enjoy being here. The kitchen is open so you can see the magic happen. This is going to be a new weekend family tradition! The owner, Tiffany, was there, working hard, interacting with guests. That kind of work ethic absolutely deserves 5 stars and consistent investments in her and her teams hard work!

Google
The wait was long and hot. We then were chosen for our outside table. We were drawn to this restaurant for the angel food french toast. It did not disappoint at all. Neither did my tot benedict dish. I'd definitely go back.

Google
We just discovered this spot and it has already become one of our favorite local breakfast options. They have a really interesting menu full of both healthy and decadent options. I got their Tater-Toda which was different but very good. My wife enjoyed her pancakes as well. They also have exceptional coffee! Service was friendly and we recieved our food quickly. The interior space is small, but they have a large outdoor patio. We didn't have any wait at 9am on a Sunday morning.

Martin Sager

Google
Great place with a creatively inspired breakfast plates and parred back lunch menu. I had the Tater-Tata. Very fresh ingredients layered on top of a black bean spread with tots on an “egg” tortilla. Delicious and tasty with the fresh lime and jalapeño on the side. The eating utensils need to be updated to match the quality of the food.

Yelp
This is one of my favorite brunch spots. Strong drinks, great service, lovely American art in the walls. I love the variety of mimosas and other drinks in general, you can get drinks ranging from mocktails to palomas to multi-layered mimosas. I love it! My favorite food item is the corned beef hash, it's homemade. Ask about their specials. Definitely check to see if they have any jellies/jams - they're homemade and lovely!

Yelp
Okay enough place for a casual meal. I've been visiting the many & various breakfast / brunch places around Roseville recently. Hot off the Griddle here is in the middle of the pack for quality, quantity and overall satisfaction. Big plus was that the place was quiet, plenty of outdoor patio tables available. Barbara and I bought the family wolf pack (3 Labrador retrievers). Back corner table was perfect. Service was cheerful and prompt but unfortunately not very accurate. I asked for my glass of juice 3 times before it finally arrived. I ordered over easy eggs and was given scrambled. I asked for decaf coffee, got fully leaded. L'li breakfast with biscuits and gravy wasn't that little. The biscuits were pretty doughy. The gravy was slightly sweet instead of salty. The two sausages were delicious. Scrambled eggs were way overcooked and cold when placed before me. Barbara's order was more accurate. And she got a nice little bowl of fresh fruit on the side. We exited fully fed. I skipped lunch. I like Mario's Early Toast better. Food there is more delicious. Next stop on my search for brunch wonderfulness is Brookfield's.

Yelp
We were in town to pick up something nearby and decided that we needed a good breakfast. We stopped by and our server was super friendly. The food was good and it was fast as well. Chill indoor receiving and nice atmosphere. We will definitely come back if we are in town again
google avatar

Yelp
We freaking love this place. Their corned beef hash is . Service is usually pretty good and attentive and their patio is great to bring our dog with us. Prices have gone up so we can't come as often but their food is good enough to impress out of town guests.
google avatar

Yelp
The service is so friggin slow. In 15 minutes the one "waitress" at 1 on 5 August is jawing with her friend "Oh, I'm take care of you" and not one table has been visited for an order. After this time she they took it from someone that came in after us because she had no clue who sat first. They aren't busy and now we know why. Stay away! Fire her! It's like an episode of that famous nightmares show.

Yelp
While supercharging our Tesla, we looked for a place for lunch nearby and found this delightful restaurant just across the parking lot. Our darling waitress was a ray of sunshine. She was flying around that restaurant keeping way too many many customers happy. She must surely be exhausted by the end of her workday. Our food was very good and fairly priced. I loved my French toast side order. We did, however, find the au juice for the French dip too salty. The fries are the best ever!... crisp and not greasy. YAY! The store is clean as are the restrooms and the artwork on the walls is eye-catching and interesting.

Yelp
A clean, modern minamalist decor, with outside seating. Service - very friendly and efficient. Great place for breakfast or brunch. Mimosas and wine, beer are options. I had a 'two, too' 2 eggs (cooked in butter) two very meaty thick cut Applewood bacon. Medium large waffle. $14.99 all very good. Joe's scramble $16.99 was huge. Scrambled eggs over home fry style potatoes with toast (or 1 pancake, no upcharge) Seating is basic, but can be uncomfortable for those with sciatica. The outside seating has no cushion either. Tesla super charger onsite and this is right off I-80 so perfect stop to charge where you can see your car. I do not have one, but worth noting.

Yelp
Great great service! They were under staffed but our group of 6 wouldn't have guessed. The restaurant is modern and beautifully decorated. Everything was clean - even the kitchen which is in view to the diners. Half of our orders were great and we marveled at the fresh, delicious product. My half tuna sandwich was yummy and accompanied by a good sized salad. Unfortunately the turkey sandwiches 3 of our party ordered were very inconsistent. 2 orders contained only 1 slice of turkey, the 3rd was filled with several slices. The customers at the table next to us also ordered turkey sandwiches and their sandwiches were filled with several slices of meat. Members in my party were reluctant to send their sandwiches back but did inform the wait staff who "explained" that the manager was working as "chef" today. Unfortunate. Coordinating with our group's experience, 3 stars would fit our experience.

Yelp
Love their breakfast items here. Every on the menu is good. Omelettes, pancakes etc. this place has something for the pickiest eaters. Definitely a must have in the area.

Yelp
My friend has been telling me about this place and my husband saw it on the Good Day show, so we went to check it out. Such a cute place and a warm friendly welcome when you walk in. Good first impression! My server, Heather was dressed up for 4th of July and she gave us great service! It's your all American breakfast brunch place. Hearty and good portions! Definitely will be back to try some more dishes. Highly recommend if you're looking for a good brunch spot!

Yelp
The place is clean, staff was attentive, the food was okay, not much flavor big portions.

Yelp
Met a friend for lunch-was totally craving a burgers-and was not disappointed at all . I love when there are crispy edges on the patty! Waitress was so sweet - bubbly - positive energy - my ice tea was not empty. Restaurant is clean & bright - a great addition to the Rocklin area.

Yelp
We returned to this place again. Despite the packed Sunday brunch crowd, surprisingly we were seated promptly. The experience was similar to our last visit, with a slight wait before being attended to. Coincidentally, the same server from our previous visit was there. They were very pleasant, friendly, and attentive. The food was consistently delicious.

James ..

Yelp
It took over an hour and a half for my family's food. And about 45 minutes to be served our drinks. Also very cramped inside. Food was decent but not worth it considering the totality of everything. Wish I could get a refund.

Gilbert C.

Yelp
Waitress good service Menu good breakfast choices Food not so good over cooked Sausage links over cooked and dry Potatoes and onions over cooked tasted somewhat burnt and just warm temp. Eggs just ok for medium Toast toasted but barley warm Parsley garnish on plate was wilted and fruit bowl on one plate looked alittle off $48 .00 inc. tip 2 people I had good meals in the past , but I think the cook is lacking pride in there work The restaurant wasn't very busy for the time it took.to get served Sorry for the poor review but management or owner need to know.

Yelp
This small Cafe resides in a Rocklin strip mall on Granite Drive. Walk in to a bright and airy premise and you begin to smell the delicious food they serve. Their meals come out of the kitchen quickly, well-cooked and flavorful. The servers are efficient and friendly. Open for breakfast and lunch, this Cafe is one of three restaurants all owned by the same family. Be sure and give them a try soon!

Yelp
Food is always got and fresh. Check out their early bird specials m-f before 9. 6$ menu. I personally like the Hot G scramble! Lotsa food! Service is always good!

Yelp
Service was excellent. Food was too salty for me. Chairs not comfortable. Not every place is your place. Others might love it.

Rachel H.

Yelp
Delicious!!!! Great quality food and SO fast! Ordered the corned beef hash with a side of French toast. Everything was super yummy. Not super busy on a late Sunday morning - no wait for a table. Casual dining with friendly staff.

Celeste K.

Yelp
Came to this establishment on a Tuesday morning around 10:30. At this time we were the only two people here. There is plenty of seating indoors, and they have beautiful patio seating as well. The decor is plain, and the restaurant is very clean and located in a strip mall with lots of parking. They are open for breakfast and lunch only. I ordered the California omelette with potatoes and toast. The omelette was large in size and presented very nicely. The ingredients are fresh, but overall the omelette did lack some flavor. The house potatoes were seasoned deliciously and also included onions and green bell pepper. I will give five star for the potatoes. I also ordered a side of gravy for my potatoes, unfortunately I was highly disappointed in the flavor. My son ordered the southwest omelette which was flavorful. The service was fast and the server was very nice. The prices were a little bit higher than most establishments for breakfast. I would return for lunch, as they had several items to choose from.

Yelp
Food was slightly above average for a breakfast place. Service was excellent. Indoor space was pretty generic.

Yelp
First time here and the food was great , tasty and fresh , I can say that staff are friendly, very clean restaurant . Ambiance is very family friendly , not loud either . If you are in the area give them a try , you won't be disappointed. One more thing , to Heather , thank you for making us feel welcome, for taking good care of us and for your recommendation for our visit .

Bunny K.

Yelp
I have been coming to hot off the griddle now for a couple of years and that little waitress in there Heather, she is the best. Their food is great. The atmosphere is wonderful and that little girl runs all those tables in the morning. It takes care of all of us. She's just awesome. See you next year y'all on my next adventure thanks again, Heather.

Yelp
This is our second time with HOTG. Our first experience was at their Carmichael location. We remembered a satisfying breakfast when we ate at HOTG, so we decided to try the Rocklin location. This brunch spot has limited inside seating, but they do have a patio for al fresco dining. True enough, our meal here was as satisfying as we expected. We pretty much ordered what we got the first time, which was the HOTG Eggs Benedict and Corned Beef Hash. Our friends chose the Chicken Fried Steak and Louisiana Hot Links. The garlicky house potatoes and seasonal fruit cup (pomegranate, orange & persimmon) were great sides for our entrees. Service was excellent with the staff making sure our cups of joe were topped off.

Yelp
Was here Friday morning at around 8:45am expecting a wait but there wasn't for a party of 5. Their location used to be a popular breakfast place too that closed down. I like how roomy their feel is. Definitely good for groups. We ordered the following: 1. HOTG eggs Benedict with a side of fruit 2. Corned beef hash with a side of pancake 3. Classic chicken fried steak with sour dough toast and a side of fruits 4. Louisiana hot links with pancake 5. 2,two, too pancakes with bacon And of course coffee for everyone. This breakfast experience was great from service- our server never failed to check on us and offer coffee refills to quality of food. Highly recommended and definitely coming back.

Yelp
I was sad to see the previous place leave. I appreciated their unique menu. Went here for the first time, and service was great. Same atmosphere from previous owner. But food was not to my expectations. I ordered a tuna melt and it was just okay. It could be elevated with maybe better bread or cheese? Not sure how they make it, grill or oven? It was basic. My teen son got the XL breakfast which he said it was okay. Overall, nice to have a local spot but unfortunately it won't be my next spot.

Yelp
Was in Roseville for a holiday gathering and decided to grab a bite before lunch with the fam. Glad we did because the food was tantalizing to my tastebuds. Me: the Eggs Benedict with regular bacon (crispy,) my home, potatoes crispy, and a cup of coffee that was strong just like me! He: House made sausage patties, eggs and pancakes and of course that Strong cup of me. The Teen: A waffle, eggs (scrambled) and bacon. Us: waters all around. Of course I tasted the pancakes and waffle and I must say Yum Yum Yum. The service was definitely on point, from the welcome at the door to our server Danny/Dani, she was kind and attentive, as well as the other wait staff checking in as needed. The crowd was a vibe as some enjoyed the football game and others in conversation and all were digging in! Will I go back if in the neighborhood? I give it a Bay Area #Hella. Sooo, I'll give this place four yumms up and a I'll be back!!

Stuart G.

Yelp
Friendly server, but she was solo. Just her and one cook. 3 maybe 4 other tables and it took almost an hour to eat. Not their fault, definitely management issues. The food was not good and absurdly priced. If you like biscuits and gravy, this is NOT a place to order. The gravy tasted off, almost like it was old? The homemade sausage had an after taste and looked undercooked in some spots. A meal for two was over $50 for breakfast.
google avatar

Joe S.

Yelp
Service could use improvement. I showed up with son and my mother to treat them to a lunch together and wanted to introduce my mother to this place where the food has always been good. Well, we were sat down and the employees proceeded to sit other people down and wait on them never once asking us what we would like to drink or if we were ready to order. I do not stand for this kind of service as seen in my other reviews. So I walked out and went to the Chinese restaurant next door and they gave me great service and AMAZING Chinese food. Moral of the story, if I do not feel respected - any company will lose my business.
google avatar

Yelp
Friendly people .. but almost an hour for food.. plenty of employees.. dont know what was the delay.. go to marios

Yelp
Really enjoyed lunch here today. Simple menu, but good choices. Quick service. I liked the vibe in here, it felt modern but cozy. The food was great. My perfect French fry--battered and crispy. Would definitely come here again!

Yelp
Great, local spot in Rocklin. Great service and great food. We've been here multiple times and they never disappoint. The service is outstanding. They are super nice and friendly here and make sure to take care of everyone who comes in. The frequently check in on you and make sure you are satisfied which is great. The ambiance is great. Everyone is usually chatting and enjoying themselves. They have indoor and out door seating and are able to accommodate to almost anything. The décor is nice and modern and everything is clean. The menus can be a little cleaner and updated to be more recent, however. The food is great here and done correctly. Other reviews say that the food is basic breakfast food, however I would say that it is done exceptionally well and never disappoints. They have great, large portions that are super filling and taste great. You can taste the freshness and everything that is made in house. They don't skip out on any of the fillings and always make sure to add extra on top. Everything is well seasoned and plated well. From their thick sandwiches to their omelets to their skillets to their pancakes/waffles, everything is great and done well. Great food, great service and a must visit if you are in the area or a local!

Yelp
Walking in today, I honestly didn't have high hopes with only 4 reviews... however, expectations were blown with immaculate food and bursting flavors! As we arrived today at about 1:20 p.m, 40 minutes before Hot Off the Griddle was set to close, we were welcomed with big smiling faces. We were offered a seat next to the front door but ended up choosing one closer to the back, away from too much activity. Since we arrived before closing, it was not too busy.... or HOTG is too new to this area that no one knows how delicious it can be. It has a modern look with tables & chairs in what seems to fit maybe 60ish guests inside. There do have a small outdoor section that may suit about 30+ more As we looked over the menu, the prices are a little steep. A lot of dishes that seem to be HOTG favorites range between $17.99‐$19.99. I went with the HOTG Benedict($19.99)- crispy english muffin with spinach, avocado, fried green tomato, and bacon with a poached egg, topped with handmade hollandaise. My bf went with the HOTG Scramble ($17.99)- a biscuit split open with homemade sausage patties, then topped with 3 scrambled eggs and homemade gravy. We enjoyed our coffee while we waited for our brunch to be ready. It was a nice touch that our server offered French vanilla creamer. When our food arrived, it did not disappoint the eye... beautifully topped on the poached eggs with the hollandaise. The scramble had gravy and neither looked overwhelming. Our first bite was just as scrumptious as the ones after. The mmm's and oh's just keeps coming. Then we swapped plates and the deliciousness just kept pouring out of our mouths. Oh, both were served worth hot country potatoes. They weren't crispy, but I liked them like that... my dad would've loved them that way. I wish I could've brought him here (RIP Dad). Our server was very attentive. She kept our coffee's full and made sure we were satisfied... although her comment of "big portions" and "we did good finishing" didn't sit right. I let that slide ( I guess you had to be there to understand... it's weird to comment on how much someone can eat). I enjoyed the food, service, and how on point the food was. I do look forward to coming back!

Yelp
Oh my gosh! The food was delicious! The service was impeccable! The ambiance was delightful! What an awesome breakfast spot! I met a colleague here for a late breakfast business meeting. Our food server was absolutely wonderful! Very attentive and personable, but not at all overbearing! I ordered joes scramble with the addition of country gravy. Talk about a flavour sensation.... YUM!!! I can't make a habit of eating here because I wouldn't behave too well when it comes to the food I would order. But, I can say without hesitation, I will be back! This place is GREAT!

Yelp
On the way home from a wedding in Newcastle we stopped in Rocklin for brunch. This spot came up on Yelp so we decided to try it. Excellent customer service, food came quickly and it was delicious. I got the Biscuits and Gravy Lil' Breakfast but there was nothing little about it haha! The gravy was scrumptious and the breakfast potatoes are to die for!!
google avatar

Yelp
So glad to see a HOTG open closer to home. They do basic good breakfasts in a fantastic way. Menu has all the classic breakfasts you would expect, daily specials such as banana bread French toast adding a bit of flair. The wait staff is very friendly and make you want to come often enough to be considered regulars. We are definitely aiming to be among the regulars as we make this a normal stop when out for breakfast or brunch.
google avatar

Michelle A.

Yelp
We stopped in for breakfast and the ambiance here was great. Every staff member was very friendly and it was packed so we knew we picked a great local spot. They had a great menu and our food was so yummy.
google avatar

Yelp
Greeted and seated quickly. The woman who waited on us was very sweet and ensured our water stayed full which was really nice. The food menu is pretty basic for breakfast foods. When she brought out the food it was nice and HOT! The food taste was average. Nothing special to be honest.. Prices are decent. It will be a one and done for us.

Yelp
Hot Off The Griddle is relatively new to the Rocklin/Placer County dining scene, opening back in June, 2023, after purchasing the former Barn Burner Cafe. Hot Off The Griddle made some minor changes to the decor, made major changes to the menu, but kept a nearly identical format of great breakfast and lunch, served by friendly staff. It's a little past the 07:00 in the morning opening time on Christmas eve, Sunday, December 24, 2023. What a better way to begin Christmas eve day than to begin the day by enjoying an amazing breakfast at a fine restaurant? You know you're in for a breakfast treat when you visit a restaurant that's open for breakfast and lunch only... and today... it was Hot Off The Griddle, located in Rocklin, CA. As you enter the restaurant, you'll notice the small counter and the open kitchen and preparation area. On this Christmas eve, the dining room was decorated for the season. The dining room is very spacious, modestly furnished, and very welcoming. The double doors lead out to the large patio. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch, and anything listed on the menu is available any time the restaurant is open. So if you're craving a cheeseburger for breakfast, you're in business! From the "2, Two, Too" section of the breakfast menu, I went with sausage, scrambled eggs and biscuits and gravy. The menu describes this as, "2, Two, Too" are served with two eggs and your choice of bacon, sausage or ham. The "Too" choices are French toast, waffle, pancake or biscuits and gravy. Biscuits and gravy was a simple choice for me! For meat, my choice was sausage, and Tiana offered me the choice between links or a patty; I sent with links. The sausage links were on the short side, but were quite fat, perfectly grilled, and simply delicious. Since no potatoes were included with this breakfast, I went with scrambled eggs, which are "standalone" delicious without potatoes. Like the sausage links, my eggs were cooked to perfection. The chef truly has talent. Biscuits and gravy is a great description, as the breakfast included TWO biscuits, split in half and covered with a generous portion of country gravy. The biscuits were fresh, flaky on the outside, soft and chewy on the inside. I assume the biscuits were made in-house, as they were delicious and amazingly fresh. The gravy was a delicious sausage-based country gravy, which was thick, rich and like the rest of my breakfast, simply delicious. About halfway through my breakfast, Tiana came over and asked me if I'd like more gravy - count me in! - went into the kitchen, and returned with a small bowl of extra gravy. That was a nice touch! The breakfast was simply delicious, as everything was fresh, and cooked to order, and very filling, as I didn't eat anything else until dinner. You truly will be satisfied when you enjoy breakfast at Hot Off The Griddle! The breakfast was simply amazingly delicious, the dining room was comfortable, and the service given by Talia was fast and friendly. Hot Off The Griddle serves great food, and keeps the tradition of a fine breakfast restaurant alive and well in Rocklin, CA. On this Christmas eve morning, I truly enjoyed my breakfast, and the entire dining experience. I give this wonderful restaurant 5 stars! You can bet your burger that I'll be back for more...

Yelp
We came because of the reviews. Those ominous words that start a bad review. The menu is VERY basic. The common egg dishes, pancakes, waffles and French toast. If it's going to be that limited it better be great. Everything was just average. Their signature benedict didn't give the flavors it promised. The French toast was again average. The potatoes were decent but the fruit in the fruit cup were not ripe and hard. Even though those fruits are in season. Maybe the lunch menu is dynamite because breakfast is average at best.

Yelp
I ordered the southwest omlet the lady ordered chicken fried steak very good will definitely be back

Yelp
We had a fabulous breakfast at Hot Off the Gridle . Waffle was perfect and so was the veggie 0melet. The service was friendly and great coffee.

Rich P.

Yelp
Another great breakfast place. Nice n cozy. Good food and good service. Easy to get to. If Mario's is slammed please stop in. You'll be grateful

Bruce P.

Yelp
The first time we were there we were told about a special price breakfast before 9am. The second time were told it is only on weekdays. The third time we were told it is now before 8am. There will not be a fourth time

Yelp
Burnt toast no butter on it and no jelly was offered . Service was horrible only one person no dishwasher and one cook for a full restaurant. Will never come here again.
